Great Idea but....

As someone who has a number of security cameras around the house mostly outside the Circle 2 looked interesting. As I later realized one of its biggest assets is also one of its biggest drawbacks.
The camera pretty much looks like an eye. About the size of a fist and very solid. Once you install the app on your mobile device, I have an iPhone, configuration is very simple and getting the camera up and running was straightforward. The quality of the image is very good. I had it setup indoors and from your phone you can zoom by pinching the screen. It does record and gives you options of when to record or to not record at all. Remember when I said its strong suit is also its weakness well being that it is wireless it will need to be charged which means you don't want to put it in a place you can't easily get to it. This seems to be quite the inconvenience. I do not know how long the batteries will last but if you had multiple cameras this could be a hassle. There are extension cords to leave them connected to power at an additional cost. Seems to kind of defeat the purpose. Overall these would be good in a nursery or apartment but in a home where you want to do serious surveillance these may not be the best option. Great quality, good looking but limited in their application.

I am not a big PC gamer but this device can not only game with the best of them but can take care of my work related times as well. The look of the device is pretty awesome! Unless you knew better you would not know it is an HP device as they have forgone the HP logo for the OMEN logo. I have the 15" display which is crystal clear but not 4K. I watched 4K videos and they looked stunning so no miss there. The full size keyboard and separate number key pad is a nice feature. Everything is labeled well and most additional features are function key press away. The sound is amazing and very immersive. As for making connections, there are connections for a mini display port, HDMI, and both USB and USB Type C port. 1 TB of storage, a gen 7 i7 processor and 8 Gigs of memory mean that it is ready to take on just about anything.

Fits like a glove

I have never gone with a "higher end" mouse until now. In the past as long as it had a left click, right click and a wheel in the middle I was good. Sometimes you don't know what you're missing. First off this mouse fits wonderfully in my hand. There is a resting pad for my thumb (more on that later) a center wheel with a button right above it and two very responsive left and right clickers. I used the mouse on a number of surfaces and it worked well with no hesitation. One of the features is that button just above the scroll wheel that allows you to switch from a smooth scrolling wheel to a tactile clicking wheel. I find myself switching between the two depending on the activity. The thumb rest is more than just a spot to rest your digit. If you push down it will show you a preview pane of all your open windows. This was on a Windows 10 Surface Pro so I can't say what it would do on others but I would expect the same. Above the thumb is a pair of buttons that will allow you to page forward or backward with the movement of your thumb. Definitely handy when on the web. There is also a scroll wheel that allows you to scroll horizontally all with the movement of a thumb. One of the features I have not tired is the ability to drag and drop between two computers! Yes that's right two different computers as long as they are on the same network. To do this you will have to install the Logitech Options software on both computers. The install was quick and painless. In the very near future I will be giving this a try but if it works like everything else it will be perfect.

Thought this would be a great addition to my home since I have a great deal of home automation and this unit works with Z-Wave devices. It also supports ZigBee, WiFi and Bluetooth 4.1. First, there are few instructions included with this device other than download the app, I use iOS, and follow the instructions. Here is the problem I encountered, I do not want to remove my existing router as this is connected to Google fiber. Not to mention I have a large number of wired (2, 24 port switches) and wireless devices and honestly will not give up the functionality I have with the current setup. The in-app instructions do not give a lot of details so you will have to dig for help.
That being said the fact that I could not get the device to function may be due in part to it not being the primary router. If I could use just the automation features without it having to control my entire network I would probably love it's ability to control my home automation with the Bluetooth and WiFi options but the trade off is too steep for me.

First off I am not a coffee snob! I like a good cup and usually steer clear of the office coffee. The grinder I had been using was a simple device that I put the beans in, pushed down and the blades shredded the beans into a fine powder for my drip maker. Oh what I've been missing!! First off this device has features that I didn't know or think would change the taste of a cup but they absolutely do. It looks outstanding on the counter and has become an enviable appliance of my coffee drinking friends. There are only a few parts that you need to do anything with that go in without instruction. Understanding all the features will take some time. You can adjust from an espresso grind down to a french press grind. I haven't used those yet but I'm sure I will. You can dump all the beans in the hopper an use the various adjustments for how many cups you want to grind for and how strong you want it to be for those cups. There's an LED display on the top that lets you know what's going on. You can grind from 1 cup to 14 cups at a time. This makes measuring scoops not necessary. It is fast and powerful and truly makes an amazing difference in the taste of your cup of coffee.

Amazing sound quality

I have been an ear bud guy for a while primarily because I traveled a lot and they were convenient. I decided to give full sized headphones a shot although the ones I've used in the past have been somewhat heavy, bulky and awkward. Enter the Audio Technica DSR7BT headphones. These headphones come with a USB cable and carrying bag. More amazingly they were already charged and ready to use! I would suggest a quick review of the manual so you are familiar with the location and function of the various features. One in particular it the touch sensor that allows you to play/pause your music and answer phone calls. I've only made one call and was told the quality was good but it would be interesting to try in a variety of situations. Pairing was simple and straight forward on my iPhone. Volume control is independent from your device so you basically have two controls. Once I put them on even without sound coming through it makes it remarkably quiet. They are very comfortable and adjust easily. There is a solid feel to them without being bulky or heavy. Turning on the sound you are enveloped with rich clear sound and deep solid base. I listened to a variety of music from classical to pop and all sounded amazing! Note if you don't want to hear people around you put these on! You can also listen over a wired USB connection if Bluetooth isn't an option.

In this day and age of streaming videos, there are some that I still want to have a disc. This is one of them. It has all the video quality you would expect from a Blu-Ray however there were several spots where the Blu-Ray froze. Now I'm not attributing this to the disc as I may not have kept up to date with my players updates. Since it is a 4K 3D player I would have thought it was up to date but maybe not. Overall, great movie and the bonus material is actually worth watching!

One of those things that you want and after you get it and use it you realize you needed it all along. This little gem falls in that category. The ability to toss this in the pool and still clearly hear the music is great. I don't have to crank up the patio sound anymore. Next time I go on vacation to the ocean this is going with me but I'll be sure to tether it to me.

I recently upgraded my desktop for my business to a 6 core AMD Phenom II processor and figured my 4 GB of memory would be enough. Although performance is amazing it just didn't seem to be where I thought it should be so I swapped out the four 1GB sticks for four 2GB sticks. Of all that's holy this things screams now! I have yet to come close to maxing out memory or CPU utilization even while burning a DVD, streaming video from the net and working on a presentation; 8% for CPU and 19% for memory.

After finally getting frustrated with the modem provided by the cable company I decided to get my own. Of course they asked why since I wasn't paying to lease the one I had. Well their own speed tests confirmed I had throughput of about 9Mbps on a good day when I'm paying for 20Mbps service. I swapped out the old modem with the Motorola, called them with the MAC ID and was up and running in a matter of minutes. Of course the first thing was to perform a speed test, the same one that I used before the swap. 20.6Mbps! Not only is my internet connection substantially faster but the built in WiFi has a better reach than my previous router AND the home network runs faster since I've eliminated a piece of equipment; stand alone router. My home network is used quite extensively too; 3 cell phones, 2 ipads, two laptops, 1 desktop, 2 home servers, 2 gaming consoles, 4 Blu-ray players, 1 stereo and a security system. This router/modem hasn't missed a beat yet!

9 month update

In all fairness I feel it is necessary to post an update to my previous post. First, 90 days after I installed it the WiFi would drop and not reconnect until i rebooted the modem. This normally would be that big of a deal except my home automation and alarm system run off the WiFi connection. When WiFi is lost for an extended period the security system will alert me with a continuous beeping until I deactivate it; even at 3 in the morning! Took it back and exchanged it for another thinking I may have just gotten a bad apple. Unfortunately that was not the case. Four months later the newer one started doing the same thing. There were times even rebooting would not solve the problem. As nice as it would have been to have one device that did the job of three, this was not it! Even the wired connections were beginning to run slow. I had upgraded my Time Warner to the 100Mbp package and was getting about 25 in most cases. Back to the store (yes I got the extended warranty) and I decided to go back to two devices. I went with the SB6141 which is basically the same device without wireless and routing. Plugged my Dlink DIR-655 wireless router into the 6141 and haven't looked back. The concept of an all in one device is great but the execution was well below expectation. One other thing, the interface used to configure the modem is basic at best. Most features are either on or off and some you just can't configure. Overall I would not recommend this product after using it for just under a year.

Depending on which cameras you are using. The system does support audio so you can hear what's going on.

Will dvr change from each camera view continuously? Also is a 4k monitor required?, Are all 8 cables included?
You can configure the DVR to record on motion only by camera, or continuously record all cameras. It can even be setup to only record at certain times of the day. As for viewing, you can look at one camera at a time or all cameras at once. You can even create a tour that will rotate through specific cameras. A 4K monitor is not required but just like any screen it will affect the detail you see. everything was included to connect all the cameras the system came with. Hope that helps.

Is it possible to replace the hard drive with a different SSD?
Anything is possible but the reality is, is it worth it? IF it is similar to previous Surface laptops there are four torx screws under the rubber feet that once removed will allow the keyboard to be removed and provide access to the HD. For the record, I have not done this on a Surface Laptop 4, nor do I recommend it as it would void your warranty, but have seen it done on previous models so there is no guarantee the design is the same. No it does not although that would be a great option. If you go through a lot of ice or entertain I would recommend the optional side water tank that connects to the unit.

It holds 3 pounds at a time and with it making a pound an hour it reduces the need to have a lot on hand at one time.
