I've been a videographer since the late '70s, starting out with a 2 piece camera/portapack that weighed a ton. Years later they came out with a much smaller porta pack but it still recorded on VHS tape. Then came the full sized VHS Camcorder and then in the early '90s I bought the first digital camera which was fairly small and that shot on Mini-DV tape. Many years later I bought my first GoPro camera and was amazed by its size and quality. As good as the GoPro Hero 8 Black was, this GoPro Hero 11 Black Creator edition has so many more features that it makes the older one look primitive. Being able to shoot 5.3K60 and 4K120 video with Hypersmooth video, I no longer need to use a gimbal.
At my age, I don't do action sports, I just do street and event videography and can finally create videos I am really proud of. When I look back at the VHS wedding videos I shot, I'm really embarrassed at the VHS quality of it. I will be shooting a Bar Mitzvah with it tomorrow and I know I will be proud of it.
The Volta grip is a great addition to the GoPro since it contains a battery that with the internal camera battery will give roughly 4 hours of continuous power without having to carry extra batteries and a charger with me. It has the controls to start and stop the shooting so I don't have to reach up and press the shutter button and even though I can start and stop (among other commands) using the voice commands, in some situations I wouldn't want to speak out loud to tell it to stop recording). There is also a mode button to switch between video, photo, time lapse and light painting. Speaking of modes, using the rear screen controls, you can select modes such as Activity, Cinematic, Full Frame, Ultra Slo Mo, Star Trails, Time Warp, Vehicle Lights and Night Lapse. The Volta hand grip opens up to form a mini tripod and on the front of the Volta, there is a pop-out standard GoPro mount that you can attach any kind of accessory.

For doing video blogging the creator edition comes with a metal housing that will protect the camera in the event of a fall as well as an additional microphone with a windsock to give you clear crisp audio even under the worst conditions. The tiny LED light sits in the cold shoe on top and is extremely bright for something that small.
My one major complaint is the carry case that the GoPro 11 came with is one big empty box. The partitions that the parts came in is made of cardboard and it falls apart if you try to put everything back into it to take it on the road. I have cases for other cameras that have plastic covered cloth that keeps all the parts in place so they don't bounce around when carrying it. Of course I can always buy a different case but they should have thought it out a little better.
All in all, I am amazed at the quality of the video and after all, that is the most important thing when buying a video camera.

As an IT professional, I usually have to transfer all of a client's work from their old computer to their new one and this SSD certainly has the space to copy their home folder no matter how big it is. Also, I am constantly going through multiple flash drives looking for some application, plug-in, document or whatever I need for a job. I have been carrying a keyring full of flash drives and even though I have them labeled, it takes a while to find what I'm looking for. Of course most of the things I carry can be found online or kept in a cloud drive, but it's a lot faster to just pull out a drive and plug it in and copy whatever I need from a this SSD. With this 1TB drive in my pocket, I have enough room to carry everything I might need on a job and have the files organized in a way that makes it a lot easier to locate.
This Samsung Portable SSD T7 Shield drive is very small and takes up less room in my pocket that the ring of flash drives. It's covered in a rubber shell that will protect it in the event I bump into something or even drop it and it's water and dust resistant with an IP65 rating. It has a drop resistance of up to 3m. It has a USB 3.2 Gen2 rated at 10Gbps jack on it and it came with 2 cables, USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to USB-A for whatever computer I need to connect it to.
This drive is way faster than any flash drive I have ever tried. It has a read speed of 1,050MB/s and a write speed of 1,000MB/s. You can download software for it for Mac, Windows and Android that will let you encrypt the drive.
As a test, I put some movies and MP3's on the drive and plugged it into my iPad Pro and they played flawlessly so if you don't have a lot of free space on your iPad, this is a great way of carrying your entertainment with you.
Don't forget, you can also use this drive to backup your computer as it's completely silent and fast.

The Logitech - Litra Glow Premium LED light is a very cool light or a warm light as you can adjust the color of the light using the switch on the back of the light or use the program on your computer. You can also adjust the brightness of the light to fit the situation. The light is very soft and makes your online presence look very professional. I have been using an LED light that I bought years ago that has 12 bare LEDs, no diffusion and no adjustable color so I have to depend upon the software that I am using for meetings to adjust the color and brightness. No matter what, the lighting never looked good. This light looks wonderful when adjusted properly.
The G-Hub app to adjust the light is available for Mac and Windows. Unfortunately my Mac can not be updated to the required 10.15 minimum (I'm running 10.14.6) so I can't run the app on the Mac as I do all my Zooms, Webex and Google Meets on my Mac. Since my Mac is next to my Windows computer, I plugged the Litra Glow into the PC and ran the Windows version of the app and aimed the light toward my Mac so I can still adjust the light.
Just to make it clear, there is no internal battery in the light so I don't have to worry about it being out of power whenever I need to join a meeting. I just plug it into the USB jack on the computer and it turns on. The bracket that holds the light can be configured to fit onto any kind of laptop or desktop monitor. My computer monitor is in a cabinet and the shelf above the monitor is only a few inches above the top of the monitor so there's not enough room to mount the light on the back of the monitor. Since the light's mount can adjust in any direction, I placed the mount on the top of the shelf and have it hang over the top of the monitor. My only complaint is that the light is heavier than the mount so I had to put a weighted object on top of the mount to hold it in place or it would fall down.
I love the look of my video using this light way better than what I've been using and I'm glad I have it now.

I do presentations every month at a Macintosh computer club (now that we're back to in-person meetings). In the past, I would have to carry a much larger device to be able to connect my iPhone or iPad to the club's projector. This would sometimes be a problem when someone else wanted to connect their device to the projector when they would present. In the past, I used an older device that wasn't 4K and I had to plug it into an electrical outlet. We just need to project an app or Keynote presentation and don't need all the abilities of the older and much larger device. This IOGear Screen Sharing device is absolutely perfect for our needs.
It's a very small device, the size of a USB thumb drive only it plugs into the HDMI jack on the back of the projector. There is a cable that plugs into the back of it and plugs into the USB jack on the back of the projector to supply power. When you turn on the projector, the IOGear sends a picture onto the screen with the device's SSID (WiFi name) so you can identify it on your phone or tablet's WiFi listings as well as the password for the WiFi so you can enter it when connecting. No searching for a password as it's right there in front of you along with the instructions in case you forget. The last step is to turn on Screen Mirroring (or Screen Sharing) on your device and the next thing you know, your device's screen is filling up the wall.
This is a great little gadget to carry with you if you stay in a hotel and want to watch your iPhone videos on the hotel TV or if you go to a friend's house and want to show them a video you just shot. The image is perfect and everyone will appreciate watching your work on something larger than your phone.

Over the years, I have bought many battery packs for charging up various devices. I have one that is 1000mAh that is really tiny and has barely enough power to charge a phone for a few minutes. At the time it came out, it was good enough. By today's standard, it's nothing. I have one that I bought a few months ago that is 30,000 mAh that I planned to use on my Oculus Quest 2 by printing a 3D mount to hold it on the back of my head. When I received it, I couldn't believe how heavy it was. It weighed 1.5 pounds. If I wore that on my head, I would have a stiff neck in no time. I needed something that weighed less. I decided to go with this Anker - PowerCore III Sense 20K. It's 10,000 mAh less than the other one but it only weighs 12.5 ounces and 1/3 the thickness.
One thing about Anker products, and I have owned many, is they are made incredibly well. They make their products look great and you can feel the quality when you hold them. This battery pack has a fabric top and a matte finish on the bottom that feels comfortable in your hand. There is a button embedded in the cover that you press to see how much power the battery has by looking at the 4 tiny LEDs on the button. 4 lit LEDs means the battery is full and 1 means you should charge it up soon.
On the side of the battery pack, there are 2 USB-A jacks and one USB-C jack. The USB-C jack is used for charging the battery with the included USB-C to USB-C cable. The USB-C jack can also be used to connect to your device whether it is an Android phone or another device like the Oculus Quest 2. If you need to charge an iPhone or a device with a standard USB-A jack, you will need to provide your own cable. Unfortunately, Anker doesn't provide a charger in the box since they also sell chargers of various styles with multiple jacks.
According to the box, this battery pack provides roughly 92 hours of power which would come in pretty handy in the event of a blackout or on a long camping trip. It also says that this battery pack can charge most modern phones 3X faster - charging phones up to 50% in 30 minutes as it supplies 20W of power using the USB-C port.
Included in the package is also a mesh drawstring case for protecting the battery from scratches when you throw it in your bag. The PowerCore III Sense 20K comes with an 18-month warranty just in case but being that it's from Anker, I doubt very much you will ever need it.

Back in the '80s and '90s, I was a wedding videographer. I shot over 600 weddings using a full-size VHS camcorder with a 100 watt light attached to a bracket. We're talking about 10 pounds of weight on my shoulder for roughly 8 hours, not to mention the 4 lead-acid batteries strapped to my waist on a belt that weighed about 12 pounds. By the time I got home after each wedding, I couldn't move. The VHS quality was OK for the time and eventually, I used a Mini-DV camcorder that cost me around $3000 and produced a better image than VHS but still garbage by today's standard. I no longer shoot weddings but I like to shoot videos when I travel. Since then I bought many different digital cameras - still cameras, 3D cameras, 360-degree cameras, and a few action cameras. Each one produced a better image and got smaller and smaller. The quality got better and better as the years went by. All the iPhones I have owned had cameras that got better and better as well. Just when I thought that the quality was as good as it could get (on a consumer action camera) I heard about this camera.
I have owned a DJI drone for the last 2 years and am still amazed by the quality of the video it produces. I had just gotten an action cam when I heard of the DJI Osmo camera. I wasn't going to buy another action cam at the time so I used the one I had. Now, when I heard of this new DJI Action 2 camera and saw how much smaller it is than the previous cam, I couldn't resist getting it. I am absolutely blown away by the quality of the video. It's like they took the camera off the drone and made it into a stand-alone camera, the image is wonderful.
One thing I like to do when I feel like shooting videos is to strap it onto my chest and go for a walk down a beautiful street or on a park trail. When I get home, I like to transfer the video to my iPad and place the iPad onto my treadmill for when the weather is bad so it looks like I am walking that path. The problem with doing that with my old action cam was I could see the motion of every step I took. It was shaky and jittery and I wanted something smoother. The DJI Action 2 has a mode called Rock Steady that seems to give me the kind of smooth walking video that I was looking for without having to have an elastic harness across my chest. Instead, I slip the included pendant around my neck and tuck it under my shirt and attach the camera magnetically to the front of my shirt. It's so small and light I can't even feel it and the magnet is so strong, there's no chance of it falling off the pendant.
The DJI Action 2 comes in two parts as you can see in the pictures, the camera that you wear and the battery pack that you can attach magnetically to it that also gives you a second screen for recording a blog or whatever. On that unit, there is also a Micro SD card slot that you can use to expand the storage capability as the internal memory is only 32Gb. You can choose which storage area you want to record on or transfer the video you shot to the Micro SD card so you can insert it into your computer to extract the video. You have many shooting options available that you access by sliding your find across the touch screen in different directions. You can change the resolution up to 4K 120 frames per second, you can adjust the white balance and, you can switch from full screen to wide screen. There is timelapse and hyperlapse available, you can shoot still image at 12 megapixels (4000x3000 resolution) and the best thing of all is that you can control the camera with your voice while wearing the camera on your chest. When paired with the second screen/battery you get 4 microphones to get good clean audio for your production. You can even add an external microphone and add a macro lens to the front of the camera for extreme closeups (sold separately). It does come with a tripod mount that can also be attached using a washable sticky pad on its base and a standard action cam mount if you have other action cam equipment.
You can download an app for your phone called DJI Mimo that lets you store and edit the videos right on your phone, chat with DJI support if you need it, watch videos on the DJI Academy and learn all kinds of tips and tricks.
If I were still shooting weddings, I would have 3 or 4 of these cams strategically placed throughout the wedding and due to its size, nobody would even notice them around the church. This is one of the best cameras I own right now and can't wait to really travel the country with it.
I am totally blown away by the quality of the picture and audio. I'm going to have a lot of fun shooting with a camera this small.

I almost always wake up with a very dry mouth. I rarely open a window when I sleep so it gets very stuffy in my bedroom. A long time ago, I bought a humidifier at a garage sale for $2 and you know what they say, "You get what you pay for!" although it worked, it sprayed too much water in the air and got everything wet. I stopped using it after a day or two because it never shut off when it ran out of water and I saw it smoking so I got rid of it. For years I didn't have one but recently I thought I should get one.
This Pure Enrichment - MistAire XL Ultrasonic seems to work great. It sprays a very fine mist into the air so the water evaporates before it hits the floor. This humidifier holds a gallon of water which will last all night and run for up to 15 hours and can be adjusted from a very small mist to a large stream of water vapor. If the water vapor isn't enough for you, the MistAire XL comes with a second nozzle that has 2 holes on it so you get a dual-stream coming out the top.
There is a night light at the bottom of the tank that you can change the color to suit your needs, from blue to green to red or you can shut the light completely if it bothers you. The unit comes with a little brush hidden under the water tank to use for cleaning the transducer for when it gets a particle buildup from debris in the water.
So far I've been waking up without the dryness in my mouth so I feel much better. My one complaint is that the water tank is a little awkward to hold when filling it under the bathroom sink faucet. Even though there is a stopper that screws securely onto the tank, when you flip it over to put it onto the base a little water drips out, that's why you should put it on a tray and not your furniture or carpet. Outside of that, the Pure Enrichment - MistAire XL Ultrasonic is a breath of fresh air.

One thing that a science fiction fan like me is extremely fond of is LED lights. Whether it’s the little LED lights on pretty much every gadget I own or the LED lightbulbs that have replaced all the incandescent and fluorescent tubes in my home, I love how they look and to me, it makes my house look very futuristic. I used to have rope lights that contained little neon bulbs but they were only one color, purple, and the neon bulbs were spaced about an inch between each pair. The effect looked more like Christmas tree lighting than a modern look that I always wanted. When I saw the Twinkly Generation II light strip by Flex I knew this was what I was waiting for. The Twinkly lights are perfect for lighting up a game room, living room, bedroom, or any room that you want. Personally, I wanted the Twinkly light to go around the black mica and chrome headboard of my bed to really give it a futuristic look.
The colors are so cool, as well as cool to the touch, and can be controlled by a phone app, how much cooler can it get? Using the app, you can choose the colors that you want as well as the color pattern or sequence of light. You can choose from the selection of styles such as blinking or flowing that come by default in the app or you can download many different styles from within the app or you can create and edit the colors and effects that you want right on the app.
The rubber strip that the LEDs are embedded in is extremely flexible and can be positioned into any kind of design you want. The Twinkly light strip connects to your phone via Bluetooth and can also connect to your home network via WiFi. You can turn on and off the Twinkly lights using the built-in controller or you can very easily set up your Smart Home Assistant like Alexa or the Google Assistant to control the lights using your voice. Although the Twinkly lights don’t natively support Homekit, there are videos on YouTube that explain how to do it and the app may be updated in the future to enable Siri support. There is also a feature in the app that will let you hold the camera up at your finished layout and you can map the effects right on the app.
Setting up the Twinkly lights is very easy. You can download the app by just aiming your phone’s camera at the QR code in the manual. The manual which is written in 14 different languages (but since you are reading this, I think English will be fine) is very informative. If you require additional information, there is a pretty extensive help section in the app and also on their website https://www.twinkly.com.
On their website, you can find additional lighting products to bring color to the rest of your house. You can join multiple Twinkly products together and using the Sync feature, you can create a group of lights that will sync them together to create an incredible light show. BestBuy has all the Twinkly products that you would need to create your masterpiece. As an add-on, they also sell a small USB device that will listen to whatever music you are playing in the room and synchronize the lights to follow the beat of the music.
I love the look and the colors of the Twinkly light strip and will most likely get more for each room to make my house look magical.

Back in the day, I was a wedding videographer using a VHS camcorder to record the events but that was over 20 years ago. I used a Samson wireless mic on the groom so the audio would come out clear. It used an 1/8 inch plug that connected to the camcorder. These days, I don't shoot weddings anymore but I do on occasion get called upon at work to shoot promotional videos and interviews. I don't know what happened to my old mic so I decided to get a new one. Since most of the videos are for in house use, my iPhone 12 Pro Max is a good alternative to buying a new digital camcorder. I usually just attach it to a tripod and have the person on camera speak loudly into the iPhone. Not very professional by my standards. When I saw this Samson XPD2 Lavalier microphone I realized that this would be the mic to get.
This mic pack runs on 2 AA batteries has a very secure metal belt clip, a small antenna and most importantly a removable microphone. There are many times people in the past using my old microphone accidentally caught the wire on something and broke the cable which was costly to repair. I'm sure if this one breaks I'll be able to buy a new replacement mic and just plug it in. Samson was kind enough to even include a tiny screwdriver inside the battery compartment to adjust the gain if needed.
Since this mic uses a 2.4GHz digital wireless system, the audio will be a lot cleaner than my old analog mic was. I was testing it around my house and found I could walk about 30 feet from the receiver and still get a clear recording. I did notice when I walked past my stainless steel refrigerator, the audio got choppy so clean line-of-site is the best way to get good audio.
The receiver unit doesn't require a battery as it plugs into an iPhone (or Android), an iPad or a computer and using audio recording software it will work fine. The receiver will plug directly into the USB jack on a computer and does not require any extra drivers. If you need to use it on some kind of equipment that doesn't have USB, there is a standard 1/8" jack on the bottom of the receiver that can be plugged into the device with a standard 1/8" patch cable. Please be aware if you plan to use it with a phone or tablet you will need an adapter. I had a USB-A to USB-C adapter so I was able to try it on my iPad immediately but I had to order a USB-A to Lightning adapter so I could plug it into my iPhone. I can now shoot video with the receiver attached and get excellent audio to go with the 4K video. Audio is the most important part of a video because if the audio is bad, nobody is going to watch it.
Connecting the microphone was very simple, I just plugged the receiver into the iPhone using the adapter, turned on the transmitter and pressed the pairing button on the receiver, and then went to the Bluetooth settings on the iPhone and selected it and when it connected, I was able to use all kinds of apps such as the standard camera app, Voice Memos, Quick Voice, RecorderHQ, MicSwap and I want to create a quick podcast I can even use Anchor. There are many other great audio and video apps available on the Appstore and this Samson Lavalier will work with any of them.
All in all, this is a great microphone to carry with me on a shoot.

I have many different kinds of headphones that I use depending on the situation. I have over-the-ear Bluetooth, on-the-ear Bluetooth, Wired headphones, AirPods, and many different wired earbuds. I listen to the same songs all the time. As an older man, I like the songs I grew up with and rarely listen to current music. I think I gave up listening to new music about 20 years ago. I have in my collection around 2400 record albums (that's those large black plastic discs you may have seen), around 3000 CDs (those are the small silver discs that few stores still sell), and loads of cassette tapes. I do not subscribe to any online music services because I rarely have time to listen to my own collection.
When I put these Sony WF-1000XM4 headphones in my ears and listened to the sample files that show off the 360 Reality Audio I was blown away. I'm considering subscribing to a service that has 360 Reality Audio just to be immersed in the music. In addition to the great sound from the sample tracks, I listened to some of my favorite songs and heard things in them that I never heard before, it was incredible.

I'm considering subscribing to a service that has 360 Reality Audio just to be immersed in the music. Besides sounding great, I found them to be comfortable in my ears but I wasn't sure which ear tips I should use. I always have trouble deciding what size to use. Using Sony's Headphones app, I followed the prompts that had me photograph my ears and it analyzed my ears and then told me to put on the small tips, then the medium, and then the large tips, and when the analysis was over, it told me that the best tips to wear would be the large pair. I thought the small would be the one it would choose but the large worked great.
The noise cancellation in the WF-1000XM4 is incredible. I turned it on and suddenly the sound of my air conditioner which is pretty loud suddenly dropped to a mild hum. When the music started playing, I couldn't even hear the hum. In a few days, it will be time to mow my lawn and I'm sure with the WF-1000XM4 I won't even hear it at all.
The app has all the features you would expect such as a nine preset equalizer with 2 presets that you can customize to your liking and the ability to customize what happens when you tap each ear such as to activate Alexa or Google Assistant, or pause the music or go to the next track. There is also a setting called Speak-to-Chat which will pause what you are listening to the moment you start to talk to someone and you can adjust how long after you stop talking for it to resume playing. You can really customize everything. It's amazing.
The charging case has an LED light that tells you when the buds are charging or fully charged (using USB-C). The case is fairly small to carry but my only complaint is that there is no loop on the case to attach to a chain or a belt. I hate to carry things in my pocket so I'll have to buy a small case with a belt loop so I don't lose the case.
I had been using my original Apple AirPods when I go on a walk and since they are now about 3 or 4 years old, one AirPod dies after about an hour and a half and then I have to switch to wired ear pods just to finish my walk. From what the manual says, these WF-1000XM4 should give me 8+ hours before I have to put them back in the case and recharge them. I will never run out of battery power as I rarely walk for more than 3 hours.
So far I am extremely happy with the Sony WF-1000XM4 and I can't wait to wear them when I travel.

The battery is removable but you would have to buy some kind of charger as there is no jack on the battery to charge it directly. So you really do have to take the whole camera in and plug it in to charge it or buy a solar panel for it.

Do these plug into a power source or are they battery operated?
There is no internal battery, it comes with a USB cable and power adapter that plugs into an electric outlet. I suppose you could use an external battery pack to plug the USB cable into but then you would have to charge the battery pack constantly.

It needs to be on your home network and the same network as your cell phone.

You connect your iPhone or Android phone to the remote controller, it clamps onto the top of it and holds it securely. No, the lock has nothing to do with the door knob, it just replaces the lock/deadbolt. You still need a doorknob to open the door.

Yes the lock is reversible. When setting up the lock, it uses a method where it "hands" the lock to determine which direction the lock is facing.

No, it just replaced the door lock/deadbolt. The door knob has nothing to do with the lock

Will I be able to format this for Mac and if I already have something saved on it will reformatting it negatively affect the saved information
When you reformat it for Mac, you will lose everything on it. It will wipe it clean so be sure to copy everything form the drive to your computer, reformat it and then copy everything back. If both your PC and Mac are recent computers, I would suggest you use the ExFAT format that can be read on both computers and has no file size limit like Fat32 does.
