It seems like AI and automatic systems are the new wave in everything these days. The Shark Detect Power Blender Pro is a blender - mixer - dicer that automatically adjusts the blade speed to generate the desired consistency.
The dial has a glossy black front that, when turned on, then shows a digital display. You rotate the actual dial to select your target, then the blender senses and takes care of the rest. We noticed no banging or rocking of the blender base during use.
Speaking of the blender, the blades are removable which allows for easy and thorough cleaning of both the blades as well as the pitcher. The blender lid has a spout cover with a wire in the middle which prevents big chunks of ice or fruit or whatever you’re blending from plopping out. It’s a really simple yet elegant way to prevent an annoyance. When you set the blender and turn to lock, it clicks in place so you know for sure it’s secured. The blender lid similarly clicks into place with an audible and tactile cue. No issues with a slightly off blender or lid leading to a smoothie getting whipped all over the kitchen.
Everything just works, which was quite nice. Highly recommend

Light weight vacuum heavy on utility

Our household has really come to like/prefer Shark products over the last few years. It seems like everything they make is just well-engineered with lots of good thought out features.
The Detect Pro is another in the list of successful products in our book.
Setup:
Very subjective, but I was very pleasantly surprised by the cardboard dividers housing the vacuum parts - no obnoxious styrofoam particles to cling everywhere. Each piece very intuitively clicks into place, and the air freshener piece has a very clear green triangle marking to note where to line up for installation. So simple. Then you plug in the base and done.

The Detect Pro comes with a crevice tool and an pet multi tool attachment. Only one attachment can clip onto the side the of vacuum base, but we just leave the brush behind the base since we rarely use it.

The biggest pro for this vacuum is how light it is compared to other handheld vacuums. With its light weight, we were worried the suctioning power would be lower, but comparing to our other vacuum, it was identical. The vacuum’s brush roll actually has brushes and fins, which allows for effective cleaning on multiple surfaces - which means we don’t have to unclick and swap out vacuum heads depending on whether we want to clean the hardwood or the carpets. The AI system actually automatically adjusts the brush roll’s spin speed and suction strength depending on the surface you vacuum as well as how many particles there are. Sounded gimmicky to us, but as you can see in our video, it actually works.

Game changer for those who push themselves

I used to powerlift when I was in the Army and 20 years younger. With time, however, warm up and recovery take much much longer than they did. So back then, I would have never considered getting a recovery device, but recently I started looking for one.
A few companies jumped out when I began researching. The Theragun Pro Plus stands for a few reasons. The Therabody app connected to the Theragun Pro Plus as simply as picking out the very clearly labeled icon with a picture of the device, then tapping the button. There are quite a few Therabody devices, but using pictures of each device as thumbnails was so intuitive. Then, the Pro Plus’s main differentiation is the new infrared heated massage head. The head has a gentle shape that works together with the heated element to promote blood flow and healing, according to the instructions. Personally, what I can say is that I do CrossFit 4 times a week and run on my off days. Combining the “lower body recovery” routine on the app and then targeted massages with the Pro Plus to lats and other upper body groups after workouts, I have noticed significantly less and shorter soreness on a routine basis.

Comfortable high quality headset

Design: all black with a detachable boom mic. The headband has a matte texture with a wide band of foam contacting the head that feels soft and distributed the weight well. The ear cups are also with a nice feeling memory foam to provide cushioning. After playing several hours of overwatch I didn’t feel like I was uncomfortable. Some other competitors headsets in the similar price range include active cooling in the ear to prevent overheating. I didn’t really feel I missed that feature with these headsets even though memory foam tends to run on the hotter side.
Battery life: nothing short of remarkable. Advertised battery life is 70 hours on a full charge, 6 hours on a 15 minute charge. I’ve only had to recharge the headset once every week and a half.
Thankfully no proprietary charging ports nor charging cables. The Razer v2 Pro uses a good old fashioned USB C connector, which by now, most people probably have at least a few lying around the house.
Sound quality was good, I wouldn’t really be trying to listen for studio quality on albums, but certainly tuned well for gaming.
Great battery life, convenient USB C charging, and very comfortable design. Highly recommend

Beautiful vacuum convenient to use

This vacuum has no business looking as good as it does. We have it sitting pretty out in the open and it doesn’t. stand. out.
Suction appears plenty strong as we’re seeing the same amount of stuff getting pulled during our weekly vacuuming. The vacuum base also doubles as a charger and primary receptacle for all the debris. As the handheld fills up, the base will then suction the small canister into a larger reservoir inside the sleek white base. Not too loud, and the filter makes sure the dust doesn’t just fly back into your house as it’s transferring.
The one downside to the sleek aesthetic is there aren’t all the attachments (upholstery, crevice, extender, etc) that you typically find included with vacuums. For us, our space is pretty uniform, so thankfully I didn’t find myself missing the attachments.
Handle itself is nice and ergonomically designed, with a trigger type handle that spreads the weight out.
We’ve noticed no significant loss in cleaning power compared to our older traditional vacuum, and we gained a lot more space saving as well as the covenience of not having to empty the vacuum as much thanks to the base. Highly recommend.

Small unit with big sound

Small, portable PA with digital indicator panels for the volume levels but still physical turn knobs. Designed to balance standing at straight vertically or tilted at an angle to aim sound. Handles are placed in good locations to make carrying the PA easy.
Can use XLR or aux input cables, or Bluetooth. For live sound, I didn’t try Bluetooth due to the risk of lagging, but playing music off my phone for a background track worked really well.
The Bose music app made setup extremely easy, as you literally just follow the on screen steps and the app readily located and connected. No hassle.
Sound quality with a Shure SM58 and my Taylor 414 hooked up was great. Loud enough to use as an standalone unit for our small congregation. At home, I hook it up so my son can use with his electronic drum set. Connecting the e drums is as simple as plugging in an AUX cable (cable not included). The box does include, however, wireless adapters for mic and instruments.
Small unit with big clear sound I expect from Bose, I am very happy with how this unit carries and performs.

Air purifiers have become “the new thing” ever since the pandemic I feel like. Lots of air purifiers with varying levels of purification ratings, and the Blueair does not disappoint. It’s essentially hospital-grade because it’s rates to catch even airborne viruses with the HEPA filter.
For our home, all of us, including our two kids, have terrible allergies. And where we live, cedar and oak are basically active all year long. So we have had to put purifiers in every room.
So our experiences with different purifiers is based on real world actual data (my kids being able to sleep at night).
Hands down, the best feature I’d the Blueair is that it is quiet. Not a “quiet” if you run at the lowest fan speed, but truly quiet. Our room doesn’t sound like a jet engine at night. In addition, the brightness of the lights are dimmable! Why other companies don’t think that a glaring bright blue/white light blasting in the room is okay is beyond me, but that was a common complaint with other filters because my wife is a light sleeper and sensitive to light.
I set the filter to auto, and I haven’t had a sniffly nose at night since. Cant recommend enough.

So convenient

Personal grooming seems to be a new push for a lot of companies. I have a drawer full of various clippers, razors, groomers, that I have purchased. We’ve got a his and hers sink, but gadgets take up real estate.
The Conair all-in-one metal groomer has such an elegant design, both aesthetically and functionally. The magnetic head design is so simple and clean, and it works so well. After using this, it really made me wonder why nobody else has done this before. The nose and ear hair trimmer attachment is patented, and I noticed it immediately. The blade is closed, so you don’t have to worry about cutting yourself. But most of all, the way the blades actuate, I never once felt any pulling. Which, if you have ever used a cheap nose hair trimmer, you know how much that hurts.
Pull off the attachment, and swap in seconds to the foil and I can shave and clean up side burns. My morning routine is done all with one simple device.
I don’t grow a beard, so I can’t speak to the beard clipping attachment, but from the attachments I did use, everything worked excellently.
I highly recommend and it’ll replace multiple devices while taking up a fraction of the space.

Functional personal ear and nose hair trimmer

Personal hair trimmers are a dime a dozen, or so I thought.
Design: sharp edges that give a masculine vibe, which fits given the overall naming and innuendo of the company’s products. No soft, rounded, corners here, the Manscaped personal ear and nose hair trimmer definitely has a more angular design. The on/off button is outlined in a nice silver, and it’s easy to hold. The only issue I had was the sliding button was a little too hard to move due to the flat recessed design.
Performance: I (thankfully?) don’t have significant enough ear hair to where I would require routine trimming, so I can’t speak to that specific aspect. For nose hair trimming though, I noticed I didn’t have any pulled hairs, which is a definite plus. I also noticed that I didn’t have to make as many passes to catch any missed hairs. Being able to use the trimmer in the shower was also a big plus, as you can just rinse off the trimmer and not have to worry about leaving pieces of hair on the sink to be cleaned up.
Overall thoughts: does what it’s supposed to well.

Perfect for my kid

Several of my kid’s friends have gotten hoverboards, and I was looking into them for my child. However, the e bike went faster than most hover boards, and skills transferred to riding a real bike.
Very simple and intuitive, my kid was able to transition seamlessly from riding his regular bicycle to the e bike for fun. Controls are clustered by the right handlebar, with rubber tactile buttons to turn on/off and to control the speed. Battery life is indicated by a row of blue led lights.
The bike lasts for several hours on a charge; to the point where the neighborhood kids have all taken turns and we never once had an issue with the power running out. Top speed hits 9 mph at the faster setting for my 6 year old. Not crazy fast, but certainly fast enough to keep young children (safely) entertained.
We’ve taken this thing out around the neighborhood on roads and sidewalks, to parks on dirt and grass, and it runs very well.
The red on our bike is matched on the handlebars, the handlebar guard at the center post, the main body housing the battery and engine, and the foot rests. Looks great and makes the bike easy to spot.
Highly recommend.
