Very Cool Looking With Lots of Stuff

The Asus - AC2600 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Router, Blue Cave, is not your average looking router. It does not have the antennas sticking out and quite frankly, I wanted to try this because of the Trend Micro for life coverage. I have been one of those Trend Micro annual fee subscription users and the thought that this router would protect at that point then be loaded on the device was appealing.
This router also protects all your mobile devices, too. I am not a tech nerd or guru. The package contains the Blue Wave router, a RJ-45 cable, a power adapter and quick setup guide. The new network can be set up through the downloadable app in about 5 minutes, but give yourself more time than that to do so because there are numerous options that you can include on how and what you want to protect within your network.
Wifi speeds are good and I have a large home spread out over 3 levels, including the basement. While I do not have young children, this router does allow for parental control to keep your kids away from sites that you may not want them to be at.
I guess the only thing I would say is it a problem when there are more options than a non-tech guru knows about. Maybe not if you take the time to investigate and understand what the options are and if you think it is something you may want or need for the future.

So Easy to Wear

Waited a long time to receive these from Sony and was gone when they finally came in. So, I opened the packaging and sorted through all the pieces. These ear buds start charging when correctly placed in their case with the red light coming on the right bud. Their case has a lid that swivels either right or left, and connects by USB to a charging source, which in my case was my desktop computer for the first time.
These wireless ear buds easily connect, even the very first time, by Bluetooth to whatever device you wish to whether it is your mobile phone, laptop/tablet, MP3 player, etc. Additionally, it is also easy to pair right and left buds so that sound is coming out from both them, truly putting your hearing in stereo and surround sound. The left one is marked with a "L" in a gray bubble and the right one is marked "R" in a field of red so it easy to distinguish one from the other. The left one has the on/off button, which must be pressed for at least 7 times to obtain the blinking blue and red light that lets you know that they are ready to connect and pair.
I thought these ear buds were extremely comfortable and when the wearer/user inserts them in the correct ear and properly inserts them, by twisting them in place, it is easy to feel that they are in securely so that one is not nervous that they will fall out and be lost by extreme activity or living.
Using the right one, It was easy to put them in noise cancelling mode and I even thought that just the sound from just streaming live TV from my android phone sounded rich with lively notes.
Overall, great features with easy connectivity, pairing, wearing, and they do not drop what is being played. However, I do not think it is easy to determine how long the battery life is.

Vacuum and Mop With One Machine

All the components of this machine came well-packed in one box that has hand holds on either side of the box; that is important to me just to get it in the house. It literally took minutes to set up this Pet Crosswave, with a quick start guide and full owner manual included.
I already have a Bissell Pet Vacuum cleaner and I do love the Tangle-free brush roll. On other machines I usually have to get out a scissor and cut the hair off the roller. So, the dog hair gets sucked up from the Tangle-free brush roll and it is not the nicest thing to have the pet hair with the dirty water in the canister.
There are 2 small containers of floor cleaner included that have a flower fragrance. I was told by Bissell that this machine is not meant to clean carpet, but rather area rugs because it is not a deep cleaner. I did use this on several area rugs, though, and found that it did a good job cleaning and deodorizing.
However, when you are done and it is time to clean up the dirty water bottle be prepared to see all sorts of hair and other yucky solids that the machine picked up. I used toilet paper to retrieve and clean out those solids before dumping the dirty water in the toilet. Clearly, I only want to put water into my sewer system without bulk solids so it is important to clean out canister as best as possible. Then you need to either dry these pieces or let them air dry.
Pros-does a good job, easy to use, set up for a while with cleaning fluid and other components. Cons-no accessories for upholstery, etc. and ultimate clean up of dirty water bottle.

Love This Quiet Machine

I, too, have been watching the evolution of the Dyson bladeless fans, heaters, and air purifiers over the years. I am in Kansas and in the last few years we have had to turn our central air conditioners on by the end of April because of the heat. However, I live in a very small town that thinks they are better at utility delivery vs. leave it to the pros and therefore, the cost of our electricity and water is outrageous.
So, I was hoping that this Dyson could be a tool to not use as much A/C this year. I will say this, I originally ordered the tower, but Dyson sent me the desktop model by mistake and that is what I wound up with. Putting the unit together with the filters and other components took no time at all, and I was ready for business right away.
First, I really love the design and simple appearance of this fan/air purifier. It has a clean and modern appearance and will be very easy to keep clean, which in my opinion is wonderful.
Second, it comes with a fully functioning remote controller that happens to be magnetized and stick to the white circular head, so loss of the remote should never be an issue.
Third, there is an operating manual, but there is also a also a short video on the Dyson website in the area where we are supposed to register our unit for the 2 year warranty. By the way, the serial number for the unit is on the bottom side of the base and there is a place to record that in the operating manual on page 5. While I was looking for the serial number, I noticed that there were pads affixed to the base to protect the surface it is placed on and also make the unit non-skid.
This is a very smart machine. Until I watched the short video on Dyson's website, I did not realize that the metal base can be tilted in several ways so that the airflow is better aimed. Also, you can either direct the airflow to come out the front for more direct cooling or it can be directed to come out the rear so that the room cools without it being directed directly on the individuals.
The air purifier monitors pollutants that could be in the air and if it picks up a pollutant then the symbol for that pollutant will display on the screen. Like I said before, this is a smart device that is Wi Fi enabled and can be controlled from a mobile app on your phone.
This model's MSRP is $450, costly in anyone's terms, but it has all kinds of bells and whistles, and if it runs for years to come it will decrease my use of very expensive electricity on air conditioning and will start to pay for itself over time

Great Sound-Great Vibe

I am a 59 year old woman who was a teenager from NY in the late 1970's; disco was my thing. So, when this speaker plays, I love the color changing effects that circle around the front edge of the speaker and the spurts of white light that go with the musice, it takes me back to those disco days dancing under the glitter ball. Wow!
At any rate, the sound is really great, even while playing music really loud. The sound stays true without crackling or any contamination. The size and shape of the speaker is comfortable in the hand if someone wished to carry it around and oh, by the way, while I did not throw it in a bath tub full of water, I did put it under a stream of water from the faucet and there was no ill effect to the speaker, at all.
So, I also downloaded the music app and it synced to my Samsung S7 cell phone just fine, but when my son, who did not have the app downloaded on his phone, tried to sync his phone to the speaker, he was not successful. Since there is a time deadline to get this review out and I am a CPA currently working 16 hours a day in tax season, I do not have time right now to investigate whether my son's inability to sync his phone was because the app was not loaded or there is an issue with his phone and this speaker. I will say this, when I first took the speaker out to charge it and set it up, I was upstairs in the master bedroom and when I tried to Bluetooth it to my HP Spectre laptop//tablet, I wound up syncing it with my 70 Inch Sony downstairs in the den, quite a distance away. All of a sudden, the sound coming out of the Sony TV sound bar was interrupted and that is quite a distance for a Bluetooth connection.
I do not personally know anyone else who has this speaker so making a wireless party chain is not something I can do. It says there is a 24 hour long battery life and I have tested that it is a USB power charging port for my smartphone-great. I have also plugged it into various ways for charging- into the USB port on my desktop computer and into a variety of USB plugs that go into an electrical outlet.
The only reason I have currently given it 4 stars is because I do not know why it would not sync with my son's android smartphone. There is a notice "Made for IPod and IPhone" on the lower left side of the back of the box?

Be Careful of What You Are Not Told To Do???

I have been a Trend Micro user for many years. When I saw the opportunity to obtain coverage for all devices, I thought that would be an efficient way to proceed. So, even though it took about a month to receive the product from the manufacturer, I was still enthusiastic.
You receive a small insert with an activation code and everything else is a direct internet connection with their website. The first part is easy-visit the web address with the PC you wish to install AVG on. Then you enter an activation code, your email and a password to set up an account. This is necessary to unlock the paid features; their downloads and directions.
However, buyer beware of the download, activation, and load phase. The download to my android Samsung smart phone was easy-it takes you to their app in the Play store and there are 2 possible apps to install-the AVG anti virus and 1 tap cleaner. Both apps loaded with ease and immediately loaded, all went fine.
I then got very involved with my PC download on an HP Spectre that had Windows 10. Well, the download started and stalled at the 21% mark. In fact, there was an error message saying "UI Failed to Load" . I then tried to download the PC cleaner and that only loaded to the 37% mark with the same "UI Failed to Load" dialog box. I waited for the PC internet security to load almost 1 hour and move off the 21% mark and the PC cleaner about 20 minutes to move off the 37% mark.
At this point I called the 24/7 technical support toll free number. This offshores you to Manila, Philippines. First spoke with Edwin and he said this happens to many people because even though I never renewed the trial version of McAfee that expired after 30 days of getting the HP Spectre, many of its program components were still installed on my computer and could fight the installation process of AVG. WHY DID THE SOFTWARE AS IT WAS INSTALLING NOT NOTIFY THE USER TRYING TO INSTALL THE PROGRAM THIS FACT. WHY DID I LITERALLY SIT THERE LIKE AN IDIOT WHEN IT NEVER PROGRESSED, HAVE TO CALL THE PHILLIPINES, AND THEN GET A SHAKE DOWN. Edwin asked permission to go into my computer, which I allowed, and made sure that I had the hardware I needed. He determined it was an exceptional computer and that that was not the problem. He put me on hold for a couple of 3 minute conferences that he had with his supervisor Maria, and then came back and said that any prior software protective software would have to be uninstalled before AVG could properly load. They said it would be $119, but because I did not realize the situation they would do it for $79. That made me really, really, really mad.
While I am not a tech guru, I am not uninformed. Even when you buy the new year's version of Trend Micro, the installation process informs you that you need to uninstall the old to install the new. AVG MAKES NO LIKE PROCLAMATION AND YOU WONDER WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON AND YOU WASTE YOUR PRECIOUS TIME AND ENERGY BECAUSE YOU CAN NOT SUCCEED AT A SIMPLE INSTALLATION. YOU ARE ESSENTIALLY SET UP TO FAIL BECAUSE JUST THE EXISTENCE OF ANY COMPONENTS OF ANY OTHER PROTECTIVE SOFTWARE AFFECTS THE AVG DOWNLOAD. WHY DO THEY NOT TELL YOU?
At any rate, the software on my phone seems to be operating and is notifying me of any junk files, unused caches, and anything they deem unnecessary that would affect the maximal battery efficiency, etc. The PC programs were able to easily load once I went into the HP Spectre's control panel and uninstall components of the failed AVG prior download and any MacAfee components.
LIKE I SAID, TREND MICRO INSTALLATION AUTOMATICALLY UNINSTALLS ITS PRIOR VERSION AND CLEARS THE WAY FOR ITS CURRENT VERSION, BUT AVG LEAVES THEIR USER IN THE DARK-BAD, BAD, BAD.
I AM STILL ON THE FENCE IF I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT BECAUSE I DO NOT WANT OTHERS TO HAVE TO GO THROUGH WHAT I DID AND I DO NOT KNOW IF AVG WILL CORRECT THEIR PROCESS.

HP Sprocket Fun

Took a while for me to receive this HP Sprocket from the manufacturer, but it is certainly on the go fun printing. I found this quite easy to figure out and use. In fact, for someone who just got a smart phone just last month, December 2017, the set up and printing was no big deal.
Like so many new tech items, the instructions are basically pictorial with very little in writing. The first thing the user needs to do is get the HP Sprocket App, which we did for both Android and IPhone devices. That download was quick and easy for both platforms. Next, I inserted the photo paper and then set the Sprocket printer up to charge, which was also timely. The Sprocket requires you to have the Bluetooth from you phone or device on so that it can pair both devices together, no problem there either.
Quite frankly, it was an easy and seamless task to go from set up to printing within minutes. As a second delivery, I was sent a box of 20 photo paper inserts and I see that those on Best Buy's site cost $12.99 which very pricey. A fun way to print at a price

Great Machine for the Price

For the money, this cordless stick vacuum really makes vacuuming so much more pleasant. While it does not have the self-propelled features of the more expensive cordless models, this model has good get up and go and battery life.. Additionally, the hand held model, with its crevice tool on board, is very lightweight, making it so easy to use the hand held part with the small tool for either cleaning the steps of the stairway or the inside of the car.
One drawback is that the unit cannot stand on its own because it is top heavy since that is the part that contains the motor. So, when you stop and want to transition to somewhere else to vacuum or store, this machine must lean against the wall, etc. or it will fall down. However, Dirt Devil did think of that issue and sent a plastic-made holder with 2-sided to tape to attach to a wall. Additionally, I also noticed that when I take out the bagless cup to dispose of the contents swept up, not all of the contents fall out at one time. There are 2 clips that open, one at each end, and even when each one is opened for debris dumping, I have still had to put my hand in and help with the removal of the debris like hair and lint.
My machine had some power when it was delivered, but the instructions recommend that you fully charge it before initial use, so I did. Again, there are 2 power settings easily controlled at the user's fingertips and because of the vacuuming head's low profile it is very easy to get into many low areas and nook and crannies. Again, I found the task of vacuuming pleasant.

Great Sound and Good Looks

I noticed in the description above that it is stating these were black in color, but the ones sent to me were actually gold or champagne, I really like the color I got. The headphones are very comfortable around the neck, substantial enough to feel comfortable that they have not fallen off, but light and nimble enough so as not to be cloying around the wearer's neck.
As seen in the attached photograph, there were many various sizes and types of earpieces attached so that no matter who the user is and the shape and size of their ear, these headphones should work for all
I do not have a smartphone so I used these headphones to sync to my HP Spectre, a laptop and a tablet with the Windows 10 operating system-the Bluetooth sync was quick and uneventful. I have read that there is a Sony App to further control these headphones, but since I personally saw so many negative reviews, I put that part of the review on the back burner and will try to update my review for that feature at a later date.
There are so many wireless headphones these days that it becomes overwhelming to assess them. I guess that the price and what you get for that plus the users' desire for either over the ear or in the ear should determine what works well. Earlier this year, my son bought a $150 Beets version of wireless headphones that was simply constructed of a very thin cord he put around his neck with dangling ear buds. I believe that for $199.99, these Sony's noise-cancelling headphones are much more substantial and do what they say they will.
