Security to last you through the night

The Lorex home security system is a great home security system for those do it yourselfers looking to avoid the monthly fees of a traditional set up. Let's see if this set up will work for you.
Out of the box your going to get everything you need for set up minus the necessary tools. You'll get screws, anchors, and even a template that will help line up the holes for you. This is a wired set up so drilling and wire routing will need to be done. Now don't be too worried about setting this up, as the most difficult thing is going to be getting a long enough drill bit to drill through the wall. Although this set up can be used indoor it was designed to be mounted outside near a entry way, i.e. front or back door. In all reality im not that much of a handy man and i had this thing mounted and wires ran in about a hour. Now the cameras will wirelessly feed the data to the main hub which comes in the form of a tablet style display. The main hub needs to be connected to the internet which can then be done either through a ethernet cable or wireless. I chose wireless as it was easier and the stream quality was excellent with no drop outs or distortion. The main hub comes with a pre-installed micro usb card which will act as the storage for your footage allowing you to not have to pay monthly fees for cloud storage and it will also help reduce your internet usage as it does not need to transfer these files over to a cloud storage. The micro usb can be updated any time to whatever memory is to your liking.
I don't want to waste any more time so i want to jump right in to how well both units function. Let's talk about the cameras for a minute. The cameras come with a two way mic, smart detection lens, single led spotlight and a built in siren. The picture quality is phenomenal epically at night. I have a gone through so many security cameras over the last few years and these cameras are hands down some of the best i have seen at night. I have uploaded a picture for you guys to see just well they look in the darkness. In the photo you will notice i don't even have my porch light on and it is still able to pick up enough light from the street to illuminate some good footage. Now the two way mic is crystal clear and i was able to hear the person outside my door and they were able to hear me very clearly. The camera has a built in spotlight which by default will come on everytime motion is detected and then it will shut off after about 10 secs and then go on a cooldown for a few minutes so that you don't continue to blind the person at the door. Now don't worry if this gets annoying this setting can be turned off through the main hub. The smart detection lens will pick up on motion and then try to determine what it is picking up on. For example it will notify you if it detected a person or a vehicle. I will say it is very good at picking up on the vehicles and decent at picking up people. Several times my outside flag would be waving in the wind and it would think it was a person. One thing i dislike about this set up is how overly sensitive the motion detection is and the fact that there is no adjustment to sensitivity level at this time. I was constantly getting notified via the main hub or through the free app via push notifications. It got so annoying that i ended up turning off the push notifications just so my phone wasn't so cluttered with messages. This is kind of disappointing seeing as how i want to be notified when someone really is at my door and not every single time a leaf blows down the street no where near my house.
Let's dive in to the main hub. The main hub is set up just like a tablet with two antennas at the top to help pick up on the cameras and transmit wireless to the internet. Set up of this hub is super easy and only takes a couple minutes. The hub comes with some security features incase you don't want people going through your footage or looking at your cameras. There are two forms of security in this matter. One is through a passcode that you can set up while the second method is in the form of facial recognition. The main hub has a built in forward facing camera that once it detects said persons face it will unlock the screen automatically. Now if your worried about the government spying on you Lorex thought ahead. There is a slide at the top of the lens that when moved over will block the camera lens. Once the tablet is set up you can then move forward to set up multiple cameras, doorbells, or window/door sensors. Speaking of which this set up is designed to allow you to build a full on home security system. What i mean by this is that you can set up a ring style doorbell, couple more cameras and door/window sensors which will then allow you to set 'Away' and 'Home' alarms. Through the main hub you can set up different display and settings. You can set up your screen saver and widgets. So far it only looks like you can have one widget display at a time right now. For me i chose the time and weather so that when i wake up in the morning i can see what the weather is gonna be. The main hub is also voice activated as well. Simply say "hey lorex" and the unit will wake up allowing you to speak a few commands such as "Turn on the back door camera." One thing i do want to note is the fact that there have been many times where the voice activation has gone off and no one was even talking. Through the hub there are many settings allowing you to set up your home security based on your liking. For example you can set up rather or not the hub chimes whenever the camera detects motion and what sound chime you would like. There are many more settings but this was just one basic example.
Here's my final take away. With more and more kids being home schooled as a result of Covid, we can't always stay home with our kids. We have to got to work without being worried about their safety. This set up is a must have for me because it allows my kids to view who is at the front door by simply looking at the hub. This means they don't need a cellphone or app to view these cameras. While at the hub they can view who is at the door, talk to them to see what they want, and if they feel threatened they can then set off the alarm (which is built in to each camera). While this set up may have some minor flaws it is a great unit which will give you and your loved ones some peace of mind with really easy to use settings. With the option to expand in to a full blown home security system that allows you avoid monthly fees this is almost a must have. Do yourself a favor and check it out for yourself. I really think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Basic doesn't always mean bad

The Astro A20 wireless headset is a great entry level budget headset. Even though it brings just the basics, at the end of the day the basics is sometimes all you need. Hopefully this review will help to determine if this is right for you.
First off lets talk about what you can expect to receive right out of the box. A headset and USB-C drive, that's it. Sounds too simplistic to be any good right? Well let me start by saying as a owner of the A50 series the A20 is pretty robust and well built. Yes the frame is a plastic frame but that doesn't mean its not sturdy or uncomfortable for that matter. As a matter of fact the first thing i noticed while trying this headset on was just how comfortable it actually was. So im one of those guys that has trouble finding a good headset i can game with for hours without it giving me headaches due to un-mitigated pressure points. I found that after gaming for about 3 hours i had forgotten they were on my head and also felt no specific pressure points due to a poor build. This was nice and at the same time disappointing due to the fact that my more expensive headsets struggle to accomplish this level of comfort. Now set up for the ps4 and pc was really basic which was a breath of fresh air. For my PC set up it was simply plug in the wireless connector to your usb port and bam your done. No apps to download, no lengthy instructions to read, just simply plug and play. On the headset you will find your mic on the left side of your headset. The mic is a flip up/down design which im a fan of. Simply flip the mic down to turn it on and talk and flip it up to mute. This design makes it easier to remember rather or not your mic is on which can save you an embarrassing moment online by not realizing that it is on. To the right you will find your power button, sound button and dial that raises game or chat volume based on which way you spin it. Voice chat quality is superb where as in game sound quality is average. Average is ok as you can still make everything out and sounds are nice, crisp, and clean. While the quality can seem a little bland at times you can still make out which direction certain sounds are coming from. But hey you need to understand that you will not get studio quality at this price point. Fully charging the headset took about a hour and a full charged headset yielded me roughly about 16 hours of gameplay which isn't half bad. Not the greatest battery life but far from being bad. Now don't expect a whole lot of customization on this headset like you can find on the other Astro units. The earcups do not detach like the magnetic held ones and i may be wrong but changing the exoskeleton is very limited in design.
Overall guys this is a great headset at this price point and probably one the best you can find in my opinion. When it comes to gaming i personally feel you only need 3 things to be happy. A headset that is comfortable, provides good voice quality with decent sounds, and good battery life. Everything else past that is just bells and whistles you wish to add on. Most cheap headsets i have tested definitely prove the point of "you get what you pay for." However i never once felt that way with this headset. While the design may feel flimsy and cheap its actually very durable and can withstand falling off a computer desk multiple times without breaking. Sound quality isn't great but its not horrible either. And lastly the comfort level is what made me really fall in love with this unit. Most cheap headsets won't last a hour before i start to become uncomfortable and feel the need to take them off. So should you buy them? Well that depends. If your looking for a budget friendly headset that can keep up with the best of them, than ya this is almost a sure fire bet. Now if you have all this disposable income and your looking for the cream of the crop then it's obliviously not the headset for you.
pros:
-hours upon hours of comfort
-Solid battery life
-fast charge times
cons:
-Average sound quality
-Lack of a charging dock or stand

Great nights sleep is right around the corner

Bose Sleepbuds II come in as the newest flagship for their sleepbuds. If you have trouble sleeping or are looking for a little more assistance in that category then this might be right up your ally. I will do my best to help breakdown the function and design behind this set up.
First off lets talk about about some of the basics and get that out of the way. Out of the box you can expect to receive the main case, earbuds, usb-c charging cable, and three different ear inserts to fit your ear canal. Fully charging the case was done in about less than 1 hour and a fully charged case will provide you with roughly 5 full charges of the earbuds. The case is simplistic but yet sleek. It has some weight to it and right away you can see and feel the quality that is known to come with Bose products. There are three separate lights on the case indicating charge levels. Center lights tell you the charge level of the case and the side lights tell you the charge level of the earbuds. One thing i like about the case is how strong the magnets are that pull the earbuds over the charging pins, insuring that everything gets lined up perfectly so that you don't have to spend minutes messing with it. One thing to note is that the earbuds do not charge while the case is charging. Most cases will charge the earbuds while you charge the case however this was not the situation with my unit. To use the earbuds you will need to download the free Bose sleep app which will allow you to customize your Bose sleepbud settings. Through the app you can set up alarms, a variety of different sounds, and which programs you wish to allow through, i.e. phone calls, text messages, etc. You can not play music on these buds as this set up is strictly designed to be used with Bose's specific sounds to help you fall asleep. The earbuds are very low profile which are designed to allow you to sleep with them on. I have uploaded a picture to show what they look like inside the ear canal.
Let's get in to the real meat of this product and talk about what its designed to do and how well it actually works. For most people looking at this product your probably here because you have trouble sleeping and are already familiar with the effects of white noise and binaural sounds. For those that are not familiar let me touch briefly and what these earbuds do and hope to accomplish. First off these earbuds are noise cancelling and will block out about 80% of noise pollution coming in. On top of that there are a variety of sounds to chose from based on your liking. The goal behind these earbuds is to completely isolate you from the world around you and help put your mind in a tranquil state to allow yourself to become more relaxed and fall asleep. It does this in a couple different ways. First off there are different sounds to fit everybody's personal preference. I won't get in to all of them but such sounds include, beach waves, rain drops, wind blowing, and even the sounds of dryers from a laundry mat. There are also tranquil sounds which will make you feel like your in some far off fantasy land, these sounds are similar to what you might find in fantasy movies such as Lord of the Rings or such stuff. And then there are sounds that work off your delta waves via binaural beats. These personally are my favorite as they help me fall asleep fast. Here's how they work in a nutshell. There are certain beats that will play something familiar like rain drops. But what you don't hear are the hidden sounds in the background which are called binaural sounds. These sounds have been proven to work off the delta waves in your brain which are supposed trigger the brain to release its own mood relaxer to help you fall asleep. Some people will say they work and others may disagree but me personally i have to say they work really well to help me fall asleep on days that im really stressed or have anxiety. The earbuds will give about 10 hours of run time which honestly is more than enough time as most adults are lucky to even get 7 hours of sleep. Now there is one thing i want to mention here. These earbuds are designed for you to fall asleep with due to there low profile, and while it is pretty comfortable it will take a few days for your body to get used to it. The first couple days you sleep with them on they may feel awkward and cumbersome. But believe me when i tell you just keep at it and your body will adjust and before you know it you won't notice you have them on. One thing i want to mention also is that due to how well the noise canceling feature works you need to be carefully while using these. They do so good of blocking noise that you will not be able to hear a child crying, people coming and going in your home, and you may end up missing bus stops.
Here's my final verdict. If you live in a busy city or travel alot then this a must have. Bose does so great of a job of blocking outside noise that you feel immersed in whatever sound your listening to. At one point i had campfire sounds playing in the background and when i fell asleep i actually dreamt i was out camping with friends. It was actually pretty cool to have that happen to me. The only thing i really have a complaint about is that i would like to see Bose implement some sort of one way one way pressure relief valve in the earbuds in the future. What i mean by this is that i like to sleep on my side and every time i roll over to my side the earbuds get pushed in to my ear canal which then creates forced pressure due to the earbuds sealing so well. So basically every time i roll over i get pressure in my ear similar to being on a airplane but not that extreme. Overall folks this is a awesome set up which will take some time to get used to but once your body acclimates to it you will be having deeper sleep with longer rest times. For me this is my go to every time i need good rest.

Smart Vacuum with AI Mapping
on September 24, 2020
Posted by: Crasher
from littleton, Colorado
The Shark AI home robot vacuum comes in with its latest model to help ease the burden of home cleaning while its integrated AI system is meant to map your home for ease of use. Lets dive and see if this is a good fit.
Out of the box its pretty basic what you'll receive. You will get the main unit, dust bin, docking station, and simple set of instructions. The unit will come with a free downloadable app as just about most products come with these day. The app is not necessary to use the vacuum however the app system greatly enhances its viability. Im not going to get in to the specs such as run time, dimensions and so forth as that can all be easily found on Best Buy's website. Instead i don't want to waste any time and would rather jump right in to how well the unit performs.
First off let me start by saying i have personally owned 3 other Shark robot vacuums and the reliability on these units surpasses my expectations and in some cases some of the more expensive brand name units out on the market today. This unit is by far one of my favorite to date and here's why. The unit comes with a upgraded IR laser which is constantly scanning your house trying to determine your floor plan. This makes it especially critical to find a good docking spot for your unit and then not moving it so that it can accurately map your home. On the first go around you will notice that the unit will bang around the home carelessly almost as if it has no purpose. What is actually going on here is it is trying to determine the layout of your home so that it can better clean. For me personally it took about 15 to 20 mins for it to get a rough sketch of what my floor plan layout looks like. The first sketch it made was horrible and looked like a 7 year old drew it with some of the lines not connecting. However as it cleaned some more and become familiar with where it was and the layout of my floor plan, everything started to clean up and look alot more professional. After it maps your home it will try to figure out what it thinks each room is i.e. kitchen, bathroom, dining room, etc. This part is not very accurate however its not a big deal as you can go in to the app and re-label everything. Also if you decide you want to move the docking station like lets say to the basement, then no big deal. Through the app you can delete your old floor plan and have it start to map a new floor plan for you. After mapping was complete, which took roughly about 20 mins, the unit then proceeded to clean the floors in a more uniform up and down pattern. Obstacle detection is not perfect but it comes very close to it all courtsey of the built in IR lasers which are constantly scanning. The IR lasers are actually pretty cool as you can not physically see the lasers however when i was recording footage of it cleaning you could seem them on my phones camera which made it look more futuristic. Anyways, the dust bin is of adequate size and was enough to clean my 2000 sq ft main level area. Noise level is moderate meaning you can still hold a conversation and watch tv with out it being too much of a distraction however you will hear it coming. The suction power on the Shark units has always been solid. As a pet owner who struggles to get hair fibers out of my carpet the Shark does a great job in assisting me in this area. While it will not pull every single fiber up it grabs about 80 percent of the hair in the carpet making a visible difference which was good enough for me. The unit does not struggle getting over raised dividers that separate rooms nor will you ever have to worry about the unit falling off a set of stairs as the sensors will always prevent this. Shark has always provided magnetic strips to assist in No-Go areas, meaning you lay these strips down blocking off certain rooms or areas you do not want the robot to enter. One really nice upgrade to the unit is that you can now set up these No-Go areas all via the app. Once the unit maps your home simple designate which areas you want cleaned more and which areas you don't want cleaned at all. I uploaded some pictures to kind of help show what im talking about.
Here's the bottom line guys. Shark makes some of the best products out there and i can personally testify to their quality. The very first Shark robot vacuum i bought was about 4 years ago and that unit is still running strong with no issues. The fact that the new units have everything integrated in to its app system including setting up No-Go zones is a big plus. Over all this a sure fire bet that i feel will please just about anyone thinking of buying their own personal AI vacuum.

Good, but nothing break through
on September 20, 2020

from littleton, Colorado
The Roomba I3 robot is a great way to help out with simple house chores. For anyone that has every owned a Roomba we all know the quality and dependability that they bring. But the real question comes down to is there any real breakthrough technology with this new flagship that warrants the price tag. I will try my best to give you any information to help with your buying decisions.
First off i want to start by saying im comparing this unit to other similar units that i have tested in the past. In total i have tested about 5 other robot vacuums. The Roomba will come with everything needed to set up the unit including the base station, instructions, power cord and actual unit itself. Set up is done through the app however the app is not needed to actually use the robot. Speaking of which lets talk about the app real briefly. At this point and time the app is very generic in its design. Through the app you can set up schedules, view battery power, change your robots name and set up favorites. As of right now there are no favorite cleaning schedules that you can set up. you only have one option and in my opinion the app still feels like it is in beta testing. This isn't that big of a deal as i feel very confident as time goes on they will be adding more features to the app. So one thing Roomba does to their vacuums that im not really a big fan of is they removed one of the side bristles in place of a sensor. So the theory behind this im guessing is that the sensor is there to help with edge cleaning and deep dirt detection. That's nice and all but the issue i have with it missing the sensor is that when the unit hugs the walls to clean along the edges it always seems to hug along the side that is missing the bristle which proves pointless. However i can't knock it too much because this unit hands down does the best job at cleaning. The upgraded bristleless rollers means that if you have pets you don't have to worry about them tangling up as that will never happen however they will still tangle in the one side bristle that the unit has. The trash bin on this unit is the worse i have seen compared to other units. It's very small and if you have pets it fills up very fast. Also the exit port on the bin is tiny and does not allow for dumping of the waste to be done very easily. What i mean by this is that the opening is so small that when it comes time to dump the bin any hair or medium size debris does not empty easily which forces you to stick your hand in there and manually pull it out. This was a very big let down for me as i have personally seen cheaper units do a better job by providing a bigger waste pin while utilizing anti-static technology for hands free removal. Another big disappointment for me is the lack of no-go zone accessories. What no-go zone accessories are is strips or towers that allow you to block off certain areas that the robot is not allowed to go. For example lets say you have a computer office with lots of wires everywhere and you don't want the unit to go near the wires but you still want it to clean the room. Most units provide you with magnetic strips that you can place around the wires that will detour the unit from going near them and running them over. Roomba does not provide this and its very frustrating because i have started to notice a trend with big box companies and that trend is all about upsell. If you want to set up a no-go zone area then you have to buy these IR towers from Roomba for an additional charge. This is pretty unfair considering the price point and which they are selling this unit. Every unit i have ever tested always provided these no- go zones free of charge enclosed with the unit. Heck the newer units will actually map your rooms and display them onto a app service and will now let you digitally set up these zones removing the need of having to use strips or towers. Roomba is definitely behind the times in this area and me personally i feel they are taking advantage of the consumer considering most other competitors offer this for free at a lower price point.
Let's get in to the cleaning aspect of this unit, after all that is why you intend to buy this unit. One good thing that Roomba does have against its competitors is how well it cleans. So when you first turn the unit on and have it clean, it will move around your house aimlessly with no seemly purpose. However what it is doing at this point is the AI system is trying to determine your layout and floor plans so that it can clean your house more uniform. It does not take long at all for it to figure out the layout. After about 10 mins i noticed the unit started cleaning in nice straight lines and along the edges. I have dogs that shed alot and one of the first things i noticed was how well the deep cleaning AI system performed. When the unit would go over my carpets it would detect the hair imbedded in the fibers. The circular light would light up blue indicating that it detected deep dirt and it would go back and make a couple more extra passes to ensure the dirt was pulled up. It did a phenomenal job in pulling the hair fibers from the carpet. Did it get all the fibers? No but it did just as good as a upright. Another area that the Roomba really shines in that has its competitors beat is how well it cleans around surfaces and furniture. For example all other units i have used in the past always struggle to clean under my dinning room table due to the dining room chairs. Most units would either get stuck under the chairs and struggle to get out or would completely give up and not clean under the table. The Roomba has them beat hands down in this area. This is where i really saw the AI technology shine here. The Roomba would detect what it was and would clean under each chair flawlessly hugging the legs to get a good clean then it would proceed to move under the dining table and would clean in a uniform line. It cleaned it so perfectly it almost felt like it had physical eyes that could see. The Roomba has plenty of power to get over any small raised dividers seperating rooms apart and the built in sensors ensure that it will never fall off a edge or roll down the stairs. If for some reason the unit tangles up in something it will power down and send a distress message to your phone letting you know it needs help. Another nice feature this unit offers is the fact that it is not a quitter. This unit is the only one i have seen not quit on a job that is not done. So lets say you have a big floor layout and the battery runs low before it is done with the job. The unit will return home to power up some more and then after receiving ample charge it will automatically go back to cleaning picking up where it left off. If you have the app downloaded it will even tell you through the app that it is charging and will resume cleaning once it has enough power. Very impressive. A full charge yielded me about 2 hours of run time which was way more than enough to clean my 2800 sq ft house. Charge time is slightly under a hour on a low battery.
Here's the bottom line. This unit is a good unit but does lack some features. Although it does a very good job cleaning this is nothing new to the Roomba family. While other units are coming out with the ability to physically map your home on to its app services, Roomba does not. There is no real break through tech on this unit and in my opinion this Roomba works just about the same as its predecessors. Does it do a good job? Absolutely, in fact it probably cleans the best out of all its competitors. With that being said if you have a previous model just hold on to it and don't upgrade. This unit reminds me alot of cellphone carries. When new phones come out theres really nothing new other than the camera and processing speed. Its the same with this unit, there really is nothing new about this unit that makes it jaw dropping. So should you buy this? Well that depends. If you are looking for a unit that can hit every nook and cranny than ya this is gonna be the best out there. However if you are looking for something more affordable that offers more in the way of options and versatility than no i would pass on this unit as there are other units out there that provide more resources and better mapping. Also keep in mind that you will also need to buy the no-go zone towers as they are not included in this unit.
Pros:
-Uniform cleaning
-Good obstacle detection
-Long battery life
Cons:
-Lack of no-go zones
-Small trash bin

Designed for therapists, coaches, elite and recreational athletes on-the-go, Ayre is a therapeutic product using intermittent pneumatic compression. These compression boots are designed to help improve blood flow and circulation in the legs by mobilizing lactic acid, access fluids, and other toxins. Compex Ayre uses a dynamic pulsing compression up the limbs in waves for the duration of its use, which helps promote quick healing. Great recovery relief

The Ayre wireless rapid compression boot is a great idea for fast over night relief for active people rather your cyclist, athlete or body builder. What this unit tries to accomplish is the breakdown of lactic acid in the lower extremities with an end result of faster recovery.
I was really excited to use this product as i do have some experience with these devices. Most people who are interested in this product already know its sole purpose and probably already have a good idea as to what they are looking for. I want to touch real briefly about how this product works and what you can expect to receive from the results for those that are new to this area. The main purpose of leg compression is to basically help reduce swelling and soreness in the lower extremities by applying enough pressure to achieve two goals. First goal is to redirect or slow blood flow to the bottom half and second break up lactic acid which will reduce over all next day soreness. One thing this unit has that is a nice feature is the lack of wires. The only real time your gonna see wires is when you are charging the unit. When i was younger i had gotten in to a really bad motor cycle accident which had left my femur completely shattered in to pieces. While i was doing physical therapy they would often utilize automated leg compression such as this unit. The only difference was they had to be hooked up to wires and they were one solid piece which meant i had to basically lay down and couldn't bend my legs. This unit is much more convenient in the fact that there are no wires and there is a break at the knee cap allowing you to sit down and watch TV while this unit does its job. I like to work out and ride bikes and with my previous leg injury i always wake up either sore the next day or have trouble sleeping due to my leg throbbing all night long. So jumping right in to this unit i tested it out after a short 5 mile bike ride. Immediately after i got home and ate a decent recovery meal i proceed to get comfortable as i put my leg compression suit on. There are a few different settings on here which allow you chose length of time, pressure applied and hold/release preference. I prefer a 60 sec hold and release to help break up any lactic acid. Getting right down to it i sat in the suit for about 30 mins and went about my day with no real immediate notice. Although where the real difference came in to play was at night when i tried to sleep. I actual got a really good nights rest and woke with very little fatigue or soreness. Did it take away all my pain? No, it didn't but that's not to say it didn't work. I noticed a vast improvement in the way i felt the next morning vs when i don't use it. For example normally i wake up really sore and my pain scale can range anywhere from a 5 to 6 however when using this set up for 30 mins my next day pain was more like a 2 to 3. One thing i want to note is there is no electric stimulation with this device so keep that in mind if that is something you use for recovery. Overall the product is pretty cut and dry. It has really only one true purpose and that is over night recovery. Do you wake up the next day and feel 100% better? No, but you will notice a difference and for those of you that have pre-existing conditions like me, this unit is a great help for recovery relief. Overall i feel this unit did a good job and what it claims.

Immersion made real

The G923 racing wheel and pedal offers a feedback system that is sure to put any gamer in to a good feel when it comes to racing games. The amount of customization and feedback felt through the wheels and pedals are by far some of the best this industry has to offer. Rather or not this fits the bill for you i will try my best to keep this review as simplistic as possible.
First things first, this unit was tested against a PC so keep that in mind. I want to talk about what you can expect to receive out of the box and the quality of the unit. Out of the box you get everything you need to set this unit up to either your ps4 or pc. You get the wheel, pedals and cables necessary. And no this unit does not come with a shifter however there is a port to add one . The quality of the wheel is great. Its wrapped with what appears to be quality vinyl and has the weight and feel of a quality racing wheel you would find in big brands like MOMO. The pedals are a nice stainless finish and spring retention on them are great. One thing i was concerned with was pedal feedback and stability and carpeted surfaces. The pedal feedback is great and feels just like a real car. Customization of the pedals can be adjusted through Logitech's software. One nice feature they added which addressed one of my concerns was the addition of adjustable spikes for carpeted surfaces. There is a release lever which lets out these spikes so that they grip the carpet and don't slide. I have added a picture showing exactly what they look like. The racing wheel is able to be mounted to the edge of your computer desk for easy mounting. My one and only real grip with this unit is the lack of a tilt or height adjustment of the steering column. With not being able to adjust the wheel this means i have to raise or lower my seat to get the right feel. The problem is i like my steering wheels low which means i need to raise my chair which in turn pulls me further away from the pedals. A small gripe nonetheless one worth mentioning.
So there is so much to talk about with this unit that it can be a little overwhelming. I don't want to waste a lot of time so im gonna try to focus on the things i feel are important as a consumer. So lets talk about the feed back system of the steering wheel. Through the logitech software you can adjust the resistance of the steering wheel to help with immersion. You can make it as light as a Fisher Price car or as stiff as a big rig. The cool thing about this feature is that lets say you wanna play truck simulator, simply set the wheel to the highest setting and trust me its gonna feel like your driving a big rig. So through the software you can see a list of games that support this feedback system. One of the games that i tested this against was Forza 5. So right off the bat i noticed a couple cool features that i was not expecting to see personally. The steering definitely has a motor built in to it because it will automatically comp the wheel for you before you play the game. It will spin the wheel all the way around zeroing out while it finds dead center. But one of the cooler features is what happens when you pause the game. So lets say your coming around your third bend clocked at about 90 degrees to the left when all of a sudden the wife, girlfriend, ,mom or whoever calls out to you. You have to pause the game and go see what they want right? Well after you come back you see that your wheel has slightly centered itself and now you can't remember your wheel position around that bend right? Well no worries cause the wheel will return to its current position as you unpause the game so that you can keep hitting that bend at your current position before you were rudely interrupted. Now the feedback for Forza wasn't too bad. It wasn't as strong as i thought i would be, but that may be cause the game has not been fully formatted for this set up. However feedback was still good enough to keep me immersed. Depending on how fast i was going through a bend i could feel the wheel fighting me to want to return to center as if centrifugal force was actually playing a part. Imperfections like bumps could be felt as well however the feedback was not as strong as i would of like it to be. The added LED RPM dial was a nice feature to add on the center of the steering wheel letting you know when its time to hit that next shift. In case i forgot to mention before all buttons and paddles can be mapped according to your desire.
Overall guys this set up does so much i would be here writing at least 2 pages worth. This unit with the amount of customization you can do is sure to please everyone. At the end of the day for me the only flaw i found was the lack of a tilt/height adjustment of the column. But for me that's not that big of a deal anyways as i plan on making my own racing cage with this set up. So is the high price tag worth the buy? Yes and No. If your a part time or average gamer looking to trade out a controller for a wheel just to make handling easier then i would pass on this unit as you can find way cheaper units that do the job and do it well. However if your a big racing fan or gamer looking for that full blown racing experience then this piece is worth every single penny. If you have a cage or planning on buying or building one then i don't even need to tell you that this set up is a must have. Logitech put out a superb wheel and pedal set up with great feedback. Do yourself a favor and pick one up for those long hauls of wheat as you play Truck Simulator.

ok headset for kids

JLab Audio has come out with a headset for young kids that are getting in to gaming or enjoy listening to music. But does this really fit the bill and is it the right headset for your child? Hopefully this review will help to answer some of those questions.
First off out the box your going to get the main headset, usb cable to charge it, 3.5 mm cable and some instructions. First impressions of the headset was that i actually thought it was pretty cool looking. The leather wrap was black and white decorated with some pretty cool gaming designs. At first glance my son, who's 6 yrs old, fell in love with it immediately just based on the design. So jumping right in to it we charged the headset right away which took about an hour. Battery life is long, and i mean LONG, which is a good thing as it will provide hours upon hours of play time in wireless mode. Pairing the unit to a cell phone or laptop was done very easily via bluetooth and required no real effort to complete this task. Getting to work with a ps4, (which is what we tested it against) proved to be a whole another story. But i don't want to get ahead myself. First lets talk about the design. This headset is definitely geared towards the younger crowd. In the picture that i uploaded you can see just how small it is compared to my gaming headset that i use. I have 3 kids with my youngest being 6 and my oldest being 12. It fit my 6 year old perfectly however my 12 year old did not like the fit of the headset as the ear cups were too small and quite honestly it did not look right on her. My age recommendation based on what i saw would be between the ages of 4 and 10 years of age. The audio quality in my opinion was weak however for a young child who really doesn't pay attention to all the highs, lows and mids, this shouldn't be a problem for them. However where i did find a problem was with the safe volume design. JLabs incorporated a volume limiter allowing the headset to not be able to exceed 85 db. While on paper this is a excellent design for kids, when it came to gaming this actually proved to be a problem. Allow me to explain why. So as we went to test this headset i decided to play a game with my son online so we could check voice quality and feedback. Voice quality was very good. I had no issues hearing him and there were no dropouts. However where the issue came in was that he was having a hard time hearing me due to the 85 db limit. I know what your thinking, 85 db is more than enough for sound quality, and you would be right but given the fact that you also have to balance the game audio as well this becomes a balancing act which is hard to achieve. For example we were playing Call of duty and we use our headsets to determine which direction the enemy is coming from. This becomes hard to do in the fact that as you raise your game volume your chat volume declines and vice versa. Also another issue we ran in to was the ps4 would not recognize the headset as a chat input device but would only recognize it as a audio. So what this meant is we could only get sound coming in but we couldn't get any chat coming out. This by far was the biggest issue i had and was the most frustrating one to work around as this would happen every time we turned the ps4 on. The low audio me and my son could of lived with but the constant having to get the ps4 to recognize the headset every time we turned it on ended up causing us to eventually put it aside and not use it for gaming.
Here's the bottom line. At the price point that this headset is coming in at i think it is a perfect fit for small kids who plan on doing single player gaming or listening to their kids music. If your child is in to gaming with other friends or family members then you may want to rethink this device. At the end of the day you have to decide based on your child's habits if this is gonna be the right fit for you. For my child this was a hard pass.

Cream of the crop ice maker

The GE Profile ice maker is probably hands down one the best residential ice makers i have ever owned or used. Coming from a guy who has a wife that loves ice so much that we have personally gone through 4 different ice makers i can say this one takes the cake. But at this price point is this going to be right fit for you? Hopefully this review will help to serve in your decision making.
First things first, lets talk about the basics. Out of the box you get everything you need to set it up including the instruction manual, drip tray and scoop. Set up is super easy and should really only take a couple minutes after you clean the unit. Speaking of which this unit offers a nice little helper in the way of a self cleaner. When put in to to self clean mode it will cycle the system with water assuring that everything is cleaned properly then once complete simply detach the drain hose from the back and hold it over a sink and pull the plug. Its just that easy. At first glance i was very happy with how simplistic but yet modern it looked. For example the unit contains no raised buttons on the surface. Everything is done by simple pressure touch. I love this feature on my electronics. The unit comes in at one of the biggest units i have ever owned at roughly 16 3/4 inches tall and 10 inches wide with side tank off and 13 inches with side tank attached. Luckily it was still able to fit on my counter top and slid perfectly under my cabinets.
Lets get in to the function and ice production part. First i want to talk briefly about the wifi feature. Yes that's right you can download the smart HQ app and access your ice maker all via the app. I have to say im not a big fan of this feature at all and can not personally see myself using it in the future. First off set up was kind of a pain and intrusive as well. In order to use the app they want alot of personal information about you which i really didn't like. They want cell number and personal home address which i feel is very unnecessary to simply access a tiny amount of features this app service offers. What exactly does it offer? Well through the app you can turn the led light on and off, check ice maker status, turn the unit on and off and set up ice making schedules. For me this really seems pointless and useless as the unit by itself is pretty much set it and forget it. With that out of the way lets talk ice. One of the biggest issues i always had is that all the previous ice makers i have ever owned really never produced enough ice to handle my family of five. What i mean by this is that in the past my ice makers would make enough to fill two glasses of ice and then you would have to wait about 10 mins for the machine to start making more. With this unit that is not the case whatsoever. In the beginning it took about 3 hours to completely fill the tray but that's because this a big and i mean BIG tray. It makes enough ice for my family of five to fill their cups and still have plenty left over. The nice thing is once it gets going it is producing pieces of ice about every 10 seconds. Also the ice is great!!! Its not the bullet ice and its not ice cubes. They are pellet ice similar to the kind you would find at Sonics, the hospitals and certain movie theaters. For me personally i think ice is ice but my wife would say different. For her to tell me this machine makes the best ice out there really means something. Now one thing this unit does not offer is the ability to change the ice itself. What i mean is you cannot change the size or shape of the ice. What you see in the pictures is what you get, which isn't a bad thing.
Here's the bottom line. This machine is one of the best ice makers in my opinion that comes in Residential grade. Is it for everyone? Absolutely not. If your a single person living by yourself then this is going to be over kill for you. However if you have a big family, lots of employees or plan on entertaining then this the perfect bit for you. Yes, its not the cheapest one out there but believe when i say you get exactly what you pay for. The unit is sleek, produces lots of ice and is quiet. There is no way you can go wrong with any GE products in my opinion. For me this is the perfect fit for my family and my picky wife.

Doesn't quite fit the bill

Skullcandy push ultra comes in to a market that's already flooded with so many competitors that are trying to push true wireless earbuds for everyday activities and workouts. In a market so saturated with quality and affordability these earbuds crashed and burned at their attempt with this flagship. Lets dive in and see what they attempted and if the execution matched the attempt.
First off let's talk about the basics, which are what you can expect to receive out of the box and my first impressions. Out of the box your going to receive the earbuds, case/charging dock, usb-c cable, and a set of basic instructions. My first impression of these buds was that i actually thought they looked simplistic yet still carried a slight elegance about them so that they didn't appear to be too cheap. I was a little disappointed to see that they were not actual ear buds, as in they go inside the ear canal, but rather they sit outside the ear canal resting on the bridge instead. Once i saw this set up i already knew audio quality wouldn't be superb, but that's ok cause i don't expect studio quality from wireless ear buds anyways. Set up was very easy and you are provided a free app to assist in this category. The earbuds did fit very securely around the ear and were probably one of the best fitting earbuds i have worn during a gym workout. Battery life was good and yielded me about 2 hours of run time pending my settings and how i used them. Audio quality was just what i expected it to be. It was decent. High hats and mids along with my vocals came through just fine with decent clarity and bass was not there as was to be expected. During a workout at the gym i got a lot of noise pollution entering through the earbuds. Since this set up doesn't actually fit inside the ear canal or cover your ears completely like a over the ear set up, you get a lot of noise pollution coming in and drowning out your music. All i know is that i heard less of the music i was playing and more of what Tony at the gym was planning after work.
So why the 1 star review? When testing this product i put it up against 5 other "true wireless earbuds" and tested it against functionality and performance. First off lets talk about this app and how it feels like its still in Alpha stage. As of writing this review there is almost no point in having the app and is personally a waste of space. It basically is a place to go if you need instructions or wanna buy more Skullcandy product. There is no built in audio pre-sets, no equalizer, no HUD, no volume controls, heck you can't even see current battery health. But hey who needs a app to help fine tune a product anyways right? I mean after all it should be battle ready out of the box right? First off there were two big issues i noticed right away. The Bluetooth audio kept losing connection. And yes i checked all my pre-requisites on my end when trying to keep the connection. One earbud would be connected to my music while the other would be dropping out. Since most earbuds piggyback off the other i knew this had to be a issue with earbuds themselves vs a issue with my device. When my earbuds finally gave out and it came time to charge them this is were i noticed my second issue and big headache. I went to put the earbuds in the case to charge and you could feel the magnets pull the charging tabs to meet so they could charge the earbuds. The earbuds would light up red for a few minutes then they would cut out. I noticed they were not making good connection and that i actually had to physically apply slight pressure in order to get them to register so they could charge. The charging ports on the earbuds are these two tiny holes that the case needles have to thread through in order to make a good contact point. What i don't understand is why they didn't use a strip instead of two tiny holes making contact an obvious issue for the buds as charging could only be done if slight pressure was applied to help keep the connection. Oh and you cant charge the unit with the case closed, it has to be opened or it won't charge at all. It became so annoying that i eventually gave up on them the next time they died out and ended up just grabbing another earbud set i owned. Since these earbuds don't actually go in the earbud there is no earbud adapters to fit your ear size. This unit is basically a one size fits all kinda deal.
Here's the bottom line guys. I like Skullcandy alot. One of their best headsets and one i still use alot to this day is their Skullcandy Crusher noise canceling headset. I really wanted to like this set up but when you go from their previous push design to this, you can see a very big difference in quality. This wireless earbud set almost feels incomplete and doesn't hold a torch to the previous push design. Besides the fact that audio quality is average at best and you get lots of noise pollution entering through. Its hard to ignore the lack of a useful app set up and a horrible charging dock. If your ok with random dropouts, noise pollution and the occasional struggle just to get it to charge, then grab yourself a set. But for those of us on the go who just got home from a long day of work and is just trying to get a workout or run in to help unwind, the last you want is aggravation from your headset. Listen at this price point there are plenty of other earbuds out there that sound better and function better. Heck pick up Skullcandy's previous push earbuds. Those ones worked and sounded better. For me this is a hard pass.

How do the cameras attach to the house?

the outdoor cameras are attached via magnets to the base. The only item that requires 2 screws to mount is the base plate. Once the base plate is mounted then the cameras are attached and removed via magnets.

Do you have tonoay for monthly monitoring

you dont have to pay for a monthly subscription however keep in mind the free plan is very basic and i mean very basic. The free plan only allows for you to disarm and arm the system and allows the siren to go off if the alarm is triggered however they will not call the police and they will not allow for your video footage to be recorded. So it basically forces you in to a monthly plan but keep in mind there is no contract so you can cancel at any time.

does this camera system run on a 5g mhz speed wifi i have at&t fiber internet and my camera system that i have now BLINK only works off of 2.4 mhz speed .

Good question. On my Linksys it runs on the 2.4 band and as of right now there is no option on the Simplisafe app to move it over to the 5g band.

So no matter where you are or what you’re doing, your home is protected 24/7.

Can cameras be plugged into power while mounted to wall or do they have to be charged then put up. And pull down to charge when dead

So the wireless cameras can either be mounted wirelessly or hardwired in to a wall outlet. If you dont feel like charging the battery every month or so then you do have the option to wire them in as well. As far as charging goes the batteries are removable from the cameras so this way when it comes time to charge them you dont need to charge the whole camera unit just simply the battery pack.

What are the triggers like on this controller? Are they like normal Xbox controller triggers with a long pull or do they use any trigger stops for a shorter pull?

The triggers can not be adjusted as you would find on a Astro controller. As far as pull goes it feels very similar to a xbox trigger pull and has medium senisitivity. The pull is not short but does not feel long either. Most actions seem to activate after about pulling a 1/4 of a inch.
