Awesome sounding audio

Bowers & Wilkins hits the market with its latest headphone design in the form of the PX. This is the first set up ever from this manufacture that offers bluetooth active noise cancellation(ANC) with an added "Smart Feature" that is able to detect when your headphones are removed in order to pause audio playback. So lets dive in hopefully this review can be helpful in deciding rather or not this set up is going to be the right fit for you.
First off lets talk a little bit about B&W and what you can expect to receive out of the box. If you have never heard of B&W (Bowers & Wilkins) its probably because they are a British made company that is very well established and popular over seas. They take a lot of pride in the products they make and it definitely shows in the PX wireless. Out of the box your going to receive the headphones, instruction booklet, USB-C charging cable, 3.5mm cable and a carry case. The first thing i noticed right off the bat was how elegant the carry case looked. I felt almost as if i had been given a Louis Vuitton bag, the quality was that nice. Your going to get about 22 hours of claimed battery life. So far i've managed to get about 20 hours of life with my settings set at a modest level. Full charge can be received in about an hour all via the USB C cable. One thing i want to mention is this is the first headset i have ever come across that utilizes a USB C cable and i have a love hate relationship with this fact. The main reason being that almost every cable in my house uses a micro usb cable. What this means is i can leave my cables throughout my house and basically all my devices share the same cable so there is no need to go searching for cables when my power gets low. With this headset set up i now have to carry the USB C cable with me where ever i go, now making him the odd man out. Now if your not too familiar with this cable set up the USB C cable is found in alot of laptop and google products. With out being too technical it basically allows for more added features with one of them being quicker recharge times. Its basically going to be the new design of the future so i guess im just going to have to get used to it. B&W also provides an app that allows you some key features such as noise cancellation control and firmware updates. While i cant speak for apple users i can say that pairing the headphones to the app and my android phone is done very quickly and all within a matter of seconds. Now in most situations i really don't feel a need to have an app for an audio device however with this device i feel its kind of necessary. Lets talk about the app for a minute. The app allows you to manage and control your ANC volume. You are also equipped with three different noise cancellation features. They are office, city, and flight. Office is modest and allows more noise to enter the headphones where as flight mode is pushed to the extreme offering maximum noise cancellation. The headphones also come equipped with sensors that detect when your headphones are removed and will stop playback until you put your headphones back on. The app allows for you to also be able to control the sensitivity level of these sensors. Through the app your also given the ability to update the headphones firmware and this right here may be the single most important reason for the app. Right out of the box the headphones needed a firmware update and were two versions behind. The updates took about 30mins so just be prepared to wait. The layout of the headphones are done very nicely as well. The right headphone houses everything including 3.5mm jack, charging port, power button, ANC button, volume up and down button and action button. The action button allows you to pause and skip tracks and also answer phone calls. It is real easy to find because what B&W did was protrude that button slightly to stick out more making it easier to find so that you do not get it confused with your volume up/down buttons. If your don't feel like messing with your noise cancellation features there is a button you can press that will automatically turn on and off noise cancellation. A really interesting design that i found was that the cushion ear covers are held on magnetically and can be replaced with ease if they were to ever rip or get worn down. I have not been able to find a price yet as to what they may cost however i have provided a picture to show what they look like when they are removed.
Lets talk audio quality and features. First off i wanna say the audio quality is awesome if not some of the best sounding headsets out there. Which is good because the noise canceling feature side of this is very weak. I own quite a few different audio devices that provide ANC and this headset is by far the weakest. Its not to say that it doesn't block out outside noise its just to say that certain noises still gets through. If you are thinking of buying this headset primarily for the ANC feature i would say to pass because there a lot of other audio devices out there at this price point that do a way better job. However if your looking for a good audio headset with ANC being a side feature then i would definitely say step right on in. This audio is so crisp and clean it gives you a feeling of actually being in a studio or concert hall. All the sounds are so crisp and clean and can be heard clearly without delay or lag. One thing to keep in mind is when quality is this good you are going to start to notice how good or bad audio tracks were produced. Meaning as i listened to Disturbed's "innocence" I could hear the vocals so clean there was no need to figure out what the lyrics were. The cymbals and drum bass came out so clean that i felt almost as if i was listening to them live at a concert. Now as i listened to Swizz Beats "Top Down" i noticed a big difference in audio quality. I know these are two different genres of music but the audio quality seemed more withheld, it was as if i was trying to make out if that was a bass drum in the background or a snare. Also it seemed as if the bass was just lacking all together. Just know that audio tracks are gonna sound different at this level of quality depending on the artist and their set up. Also another thing to note for all you big bass lovers out there is this audio is not very big on the bass. Its not to say you don't hear it or feel it but it just means that if your looking for something to punch through and rattle your bones then you may want to pass on this. Understand there will also be some audio quality draw back too if you decide to turn on the ANC feature as well. Now the feature that really got me hooked was the pause/play feature that is enabled whenever you take off your headphones. This feature is the first design i have personally ever seen that is able to detect when you are actively listening to the music or not. So lets say that you are listening to your favorite song and you lift just one ear bud up to listening to what someone is saying. The headphones will pick up on that and pause your music. Once you pull the earbud back down it will resume play from where the song was paused. Now how about if someones at the door and you take your headphones off and set them down? Well as soon as you take them off or set them around your neck they stop playing immediately. If you don't put them back on after about a minute they will go in to a power down rest mode preserving battery life. Now the cool thing is after you put your headphones back on there is no need to power them back up. They power themselves back up and you can hear that through the headphones. Once they power back up they will resume playback from the exact same spot you last heard on your audio track. Now as far as comfort goes this headset is ok. After about 3 hours of straight use the top of my head started to feel the pressure points. I think alot of this is due to the rigid aluminum design with minimal cushion support for the top of your head. If they had added more cushion then i think this may not of been an issue. Not a major drawback but just something to note. Another feature i wish they would of implemented would of been a fold away design for this headset. The headphones do not fold inward so when it comes time to store them in your carrying case they need to be retracted and folded flat.
Here are my final thoughts. The audio quality can not be denied and the smart technology that detects when you have the headset on is a really cool feature that almost makes this a must have. With 22 hours of battery life and a 3.5mm jack and usb c cable this makes it a good competitor right out of the box. However if you tend to do a lot of traveling and are looking for something to block out as much noise as possible then i would have to recommend that you pass on this headset. While the audio quality is superb in every single way the ANC feature is average at best. This headset is designed around getting true in studio sound just the way the artist intended it to be heard and that is why i gave it five stars. Though noise cancellation may be lacking the audio quality does more then make up for it. When buying this headset understand one thing. There is a burn in time or break in period. Most headphones have to go through a few hours of playtime before the true quality is felt.
Pros:
-Good battery life
-Fast charge time
-Superb audio quality
-Built in recognition for pause/playback
-Ability to update firmware
Cons:
-Lack of a fold away design
-Weak ANC

A Chromebook that is finally worthy!!
on December 4, 2017

Google hit the market with its latest addition of a note worthy Chromebook in the form of the Pixelbook. What is a Chromebook? And is this going to be the right fit for you? Hopefully this review will answer that question and help in deciding on rather or not to buy this newest addition if you have been on the fence. First off for those not too familiar with the computer world a Chromebook is a laptop that was meant to be a break away from the other major markets in the field (i.e. Windows and Mac). Chromebooks run Linux based Chrome operating systems and browser, in a nutshell without getting too confusing its Googles way of entering the market in a world thats primarily controlled by Microsoft and Mac. The problem is if you have ever owned a Chromebook they were never that great and had many setbacks. For example the last Chromebook that i owned was horrible. Since it was Google/Chrome based you lost out on a lot of necessary operating systems that were used to complete everyday task. The set up i had required you to download apps to run the services you needed however most apps were not compatible with the operating system and therefore i found i could not do every day simple task. There was no way to edit or load my pictures with ease, writing and printing documents for work was also a task in itself. So when google came out with the pixelbook my first reaction was "oh great they launched another failed attempt." However that was not the case whatsoever.
First off lets talk about what your going to get out of the box. Out of the box your only going to receive the laptop and power supply in the form of a USB-C charger. This is not a typical micro usb or power cable but rather a high speed adapter that google likes to use in most its products. Google claims that you can receive 2 hours of battery life off a 15 minute charge and that the unit will run for about 10 hours before needing a charge. What i can tell you is that i got about 9 hours of charge and a 15 minute charge got me roughly 1 hour and 30 minutes of charge level. Not too shabby there are other laptops that hold more charge but there are also others that cant even hold 5 hours of charge. The unit does not come with the google pen, that piece needs to be purchased separately at a price right now that is listed at $99 fyi. The laptop itself is very sleek and stylish, and the keyboard has a very nice back light and feel to it. It almost feels as if im typing on a mechanical keyboard just without the extra senstivity. The keyboard has two built in comfort pads to help with hand fatigue, this is a big plus for me because i usually am on my laptop quite a bit and typically type 80 wpm so over time laptops seem to wear on my hands and wrist due to its compact size. Now one thing i want to talk about for a minute is the keyboard. If you have never owned a Chromebook then this keyboard is going to be different and take some time to get used to. The keyboard removes the Caps lock button and the F keys and replaces them with action buttons. For example where the Cap locks key normally is it is now replaced by a google search button. I have uploaded a picture for you to examine to see what i am talking about. The keyboard flips back and turns the laptop into a tablet with its touch screen functionality. However i cant see too many people using it in this form as the weight of the laptop is felt over time. The tracking pad that serves as your mouse is very smooth and precise. I never once felt my finger tip drag or my indicator icon skip. The pixelbook also comes with google assistant built in. You have two ways to access this. You say "ok google" then speak whatever question you have or if your somewhere like a classroom and cant talk out loud then you can simply type your question.
Lets talk functionality now. Google has greatly improved on what this laptop can do now. You now have access to just about every app on the play store now. Basically whatever app you find on your phone you can find on your pixelbook. This makes certain task very simply such as transferring photos or files via different apps all wireless. In the past Chromebooks were held back greatly when it came to apps that you could use. The older Chromebooks only allowed a very few small selection where as now the pixelbook allows just about all apps based on what i see. The picture quality is awesome and will appease just about most HD enthusiast out there. One draw back however is the audio quality. The audio quality is just horrible but thats too be expected from most compact laptops. In the end its not that big of a deal to me because you have a 3.5mm jack so that you can plug your headphones in. I prefer to this method anyways whenever i am listening to music or playing games. Computing speed is awesome. I wanted to see just how much it could handle before lagging out. I had a movie downloading in the back ground while live streaming a video and music with no glitches or hiccups. I have to say i was a little more impressed at the fact that it handled it without so much as a slight delay. There is one interesting feature i did not notice right away. That is that the pixelbook will link up with your pixel phone in the event that a wifi signal cant be found. What this means is lets say your at your office and the internet goes down, you can tether your pixelbook to your pixel phone and use your 4g internet to complete whatever task you have available. I have a pixel phone i was able to try this with and it does indeed work, however it tends to get a bit laggy and draws down your data pretty quickly. My suggestion is to only use this feature if you have unlimited data or for emergency projects only. Now at the moment this will only work with a pixel phone, i tried it with a Samsung S7 edge and it would not work.
Heres my final verdict. The pixelbook is great for anyone looking for something different. If you are used to using windows or mac then this is going to be a big change for you and you may have a hard time getting used to some of the features. I feel however this is a perfect set up for anyone in college as you can easily complete your homework and whatever task your given then on your down time you can flip the keyboard back and watch a movie on Netflix or play a game off the google play store. Audio quality does suck but hey do you really want everyone around you listening to what your watching or listening to? All in all this is a big step up from any Chromebook out on the market and there is enough memory and power to complete or do whatever your heart desires. The price is high and i wish they would throw in the google pen at that price but one thing i will say is you do get what you pay for and that price you will not be disappointed and what this Chromebook has to offer.
Pros:
-Pixel tethering
-Good picture quality
-Access to all apps on the play store
-Awesome keyboard design
-Support for Google pen / stylus
Cons:
-Google pen not included
-Poor Audio quality

Ultimate ears blast, what is it and is the true 360 audio worth the buy? Ultimate ears blast is a mobile upright 360 audio boombox with Built in Alexa. Ultimate ears claims to provide a water tight true 360 sound with Alexa built in that you can take with you anywhere life may take you. Ultimate ears seems to fall short in a few key categories so lets dive in and talk about some of the good and bad with this product.
First off out of the box your going to receive the Ultimate Ears speaker, micro sd charging cable, and some brief instructions on set up. Linking the speaker to your mobile device is done with in a matter of seconds. Ultimate Ears also provides an app that allows a few more features and the ability to update your speakers firmware. So lets talk about the app for a second. The app offers very little features as of writing this review. You can check your speakers battery life, link additional speakers, manage wi-fi settings and connect to and manage your Alexa and amazon account. That's really all the app has to offer and its kind of disappointing and let me tell you why. When i first turned on the speaker and linked it to my mobile device so i could stream music, the quality was average at BEST! I messed around a little bit with my mobile device's audio equalizer and it did seem to help out a bit however the equalizer is very basic and limited. I went on to Ultimate Ears app hoping to find an equalizer to help improve my audio quality and to my dismay they did not offer one. My mobile device's base equalizer did help to improve sound quality and made it at least sound decent. Everyone thing about the sound was truly average. While listening to some of my music all my tones were within equal range and never seem to over power one or the other. My bass never took away from my vocals and my mids never took away from my highs. Now as far as the 360 audio sound is concerned i do not feel this is a true 360 audio device. I own 3 other devices that are portable 360 audio boombox style and the sound coming out of those devices can be heard the same no matter where you are standing. With the Ultimate Ears Blast i noticed right off the bat that the speaker has a solid strip going down the speaker that houses the big volume up/down button. If you are standing in the direction of the volume buttons the audio is going to seem distant and far away due to the fact you have a solid strip covering up the speaker. With the speaker positioned at waist level i noticed audio pitch and quality varied depending on where you were standing in relation to the speaker. The point of a 360 speaker is to get the same sound and quality equally no matter where you stand in relation to the speaker up to a given point. The quality of the sound was so inconsistent that i found the best sound came from being within 5 feet of the speaker. Battery life also seemed to drop rather quickly. Ultimate Ears claims about 12 hours of battery life but i got about 10 hours before i had to recharge the speaker again.
There is some good though. You have a portable Alexa that you can take with you anywhere that you can command to play your music or playlist and even get sports and weather updates. The unit is also water proof however i wouldnt be so quick to dunk it in water. It can easily shrug off any drink that may get spilled on it or if your having a poolside party any water that may get splashed on it will not affect it in any negative way. At the end of the day if your looking for a cost effective speaker that you can take with you no matter where you go that has a built in assistant then this may be for you. However if your like me and care how rich and consistent your sound quality is then you may wanna pass on this unit. My hope is that over time as the app and firmware updates the sound quality and functionality will continue to improve also.

Fast set up, user friendly.

Looking for a good home monitor system? Well then the Arlo pro may be right up your alley. Lets find out if this is the right fit for you and what exactly you can hope to receive. First off the one thing i want to get across is that this is a home monitoring system and not a actual security system. At least as of this review the subscription plans basically only include cloud service and will not dispatch or call any type of service for you in the event of an emergency. I find that this set up works perfect for anyone with an existing home security system or anyone with children they may want to monitor while away from the home. So out of the box you are going to receive two hd cameras with a magnetic base, wall mount screws, rechargeable batteries and base station with a built in siren. Set up is done very easily simply screw the wall mounts wherever you wish to place your cameras and attach the camera to the base. The cameras have a magnet on them so you can attach and remove them as you please all with ease. Next simply download the Arlo app and hook your base station up to your modem via an Ethernet cable then link the two together and your good to go.
Lets talk functionality and what you can expect out of this system. First off one of the nice features of this system is once it is all set up you can add and invite people to download the app and have access to the security cameras. The app allows for a master controller meaning that if you are the main owner you can control what cameras your other users are allowed to see and you can cut of their access at anytime time. This means you can allow them to view all, one or none of the cameras mounted. Now the home base has a 100 decibel siren built in to it that can be activated either manually through the app or it be set up to be triggered by one of your motion sensor cameras. The monition sensor cameras are very sensitive so i find that setting it up to activate for motion is not a good idea unless you live way out in the country or mountains with neighbors that are a mile away. The Siren is very loud and will wake up everyone in the house for sure. Now the cameras are wireless and run on a rechargeable battery and its really hard to say how much battery life you can expect to get out of them for the simple fact that the cameras will not run continuously and are set up to only run when motion is captured. I've used them for two whole days with average motion outside and im at about 75% battery life still. Id say this is very good considering that i should expect to get about a week out of a full charge at this pace. Everyones battery life is going to vary so keep that in mind. The cameras come with a built in two way mic. You can hear people outside and you can talk to them via the cameras. Now i own security cameras that have this function and the audio is usually distorted and horrible. The arlo pro audio is perfect, you can easily hear the outside and they can hear you clearly if you chose to talk through the mic. This function is a big plus if you have kids. For example lets say you leave your teenage kids home alone so you can have a date night and someone comes knocking on the door. Not only will you get an alert on your phone so can you can see who it is but your kids can pull up the camera see who it is and talk to them via the cameras all without ever having to open the door. Now lets say that's not a concern of yours but rather you want to watch them inside your house to make sure they are not getting in to anything they should. Since the cameras sit on a magnetic base you can then remove them and place them anywhere you want in your house and you can check up on them whenever you like and talk to them all via the cameras mic. The possibilities of what you can do and placement of these cameras is endless due to the fact that they can detach so easily and can be placed anywhere. Now the app also allows you to set up different motion sensor modes and you can also create a few different set ups. I provided a couple pictures showing different mode set ups and video quality. The cameras do come with night vision but i will say this, night vision is something you cant ever expect to be high quality so keep that in mind. Now as i said earlier the cameras will only run if something activates the sound or motion sensors or if you go to your Arlo app you can command them on to see whats going outside. Now lets say you own a business or for whatever reason you wish to have them run continuously. The cameras can be set up to accomplish this a few different ways. You can hardwire the cameras in to a direct power source such as an outlet or you can buy solar panel add ons which will keep the batteries charged if they are outside. Both set ups require the purchase of additional parts. Now the one thing i did not expect was that in order to have your cameras run continuously you also need to pay for Arlo's subscription plan in order for this to take affect. This means that even if you have the cameras all set up accordingly they will not run all the time unless you pay a fee. Kind of dumb right? Well to be honest with you there really is no need to run the cameras all the time unless you do own a business of some sort. As far as residential homes go, your not going to receive enough traffic to really need this feature plus that also provides alot of back logs for you to have to over and review. Now Arlo is going to give you free 7 day cloud storage. This is actually very good, some of my other security cameras only give me one day of cloud storage which almost forces you to pay for their subscription plans. Now lets say this is not good enough for you, Arlo does offer a huge variety of different plans. There's a category for home use and one category for business. I don't really want to go in to detail about the plans cause the list is long but if your curious about the pricing they can be found on Arlo's website without having to purchase the product.
Here's my final thoughts about Arlo's set up. These cameras are very easy to set up and are probably the most user friendly i have ever seen. The simple fact that there are no wires to run means that you can place these cameras at any location inside or outside your house. The magnetic base allows for you to easily remove the cameras to set them up in a different temporary location and then place them back to where you originally had them all with ease. These cameras are weather proof and come equipped with night vision making them an ideal outdoor set up. If you have children and have been thinking about getting a security set up for a while then the Arlo is almost a must. The camera audio/mic set up allows for you to stay in contact with your family rather your out on the town or at the office. The base with built in siren is loud enough to wake up everyone in the home and is almost guaranteed to scare of any intruder who was thinking of breaking in. All in all this is a good buy that allows for additional cameras to be hooked up to this system making it a smart choice if you wish to expand later on.
Pros:
-wireless
-base with built in siren
-Two way speaker
-Rechargeable batteries
-Free seven day trial
-Subscription plan with multiple choices to choose from
-Magnetic base that easily detaches
Cons:
-Grainy night vision
-Subscription plan required for continuous recording

Awesome cleaner with some setbacks
on November 9, 2017
Posted by: Crasher
from littleton, Colorado
Hoover is a name that im sure most of us grew up with seeing in our household. So who better then to produce a robotic vacuum cleaner from a name you know and trust. Lets talk about some of the cool features and also some of the setbacks and find out if this may be a right fit for you. First off if this is your first go at buying a robotic vacuum let me talk briefly about what to expect. Out of the box your going to get a charging station with power cord, the actual bot, two side rollers and the waste bin. Out of the box Hoover gives you this undercover secret agent type feel with the cleaner. They give you a folder with "Top Secret" orders to get it started. Your going to get about two hours of run time and when the battery level gets low the cleaner will automatically return to its docking station to charge itself back up. This is pretty much the standard for just about every robotic cleaner out there. But lets talk about what makes this really stand out and hold it back.
First off Hoover really centers alot around you using their app. The reason i say this is because the actual bot itself has only a play/pause button. So what this means is that without the app all you can do is basically wake it up and have it clean at its own pace. Without the app you cant utilize the different cleaning modes available or even set up cleaning schedules. So this is pretty much where im seeing most new robotic vacuum cleaners go now, which is the way of an app to control your unit remotely from anywhere at anytime. However this is where i found the first and most frustrating problem yet. In order to use the app you have to link the two together but before you can do that your Hoover vacuum needs to be connected to your WiFi. All im going to say is if you are not tech savvy you will have a hard time doing this and if you are, well your still going to struggle a bit. The problem i had with connecting it to my wifi was for starters it only wants the 2.5gHz line which is fine by me. However every time i tried to connect to my WiFi my signal would drop out and it would keep giving me an error message. It seems my SSID was holding it up however i was under the impression that it was supposed to be user friendly and that i wouldn't have to dive that far into my settings. It took me a good 15 mins to get it connected and that was only after me researching trouble boards for a solution. Next was the app. The app at first was no where to be found but then after a little more digging i finally found it. It seems this product may still be in beta testing because the app i found reads like this "Hoover Home ( unreleased)". It goes on to tell me that the app is still in development and may be unstable. Great!! Needless to say i was getting very upset and on the verge of giving this 1 star. So why the change of heart? Well i realized that after getting in contact with the manufacture they assured me that through firmware updates the app would continue to improve and become more user friendly. I understand that no product is perfect and only gets better with time so i gave the app another go. To my surprise i finally got the two to link up and this is where i really saw the unit shine.
Once you get past the very annoying and frustrating hiccups (which as of writing this review they still exist) you will get to see what exactly makes this such a great unit. The app allows you to name your bot and set up schedules. It will let you know when the waste bin is full and it will also let you pick from three different modes which are quiet, standard and best mode!!!! You heard right this thing has a beast mode. Lets talk about its recon feature first. Right off the bat Hoover ask for you to put the robot in to "Recon" mode. While in recon the Rogue 970 will act like just about every other unit out there. It starts roaming around aimlessly bumping into just about everything acting like a clumsy bot. Whats its actually doing is its trying to map out your floor plan so that it can clean in straight lines and knows automatically what obstacles are where so it can avoid it. But what is key to this feature is that it allows you to create virtual barriers that the unit is not allowed to go. So let me explain this a bit if your new to this. As smart as some of these bots are there are some things they just cant see and avoid. Electrical cables are the big concern and reason in my opinion for barriers. So lets say you dont want the bot to go in your children's room due to the fact that theres lots of small toys and electrical cables it may suck up. Some of the cheaper bots will not provide anything so this forces you to have lay an obstacle down such as a chair or maybe a box to block its path. Some of my other bots that i own have magnetic strips that you lay down and the unit will not cross the line. Other units make you buy add on sensors that need to be equiped in order to accomplish this task. Hoover however has built into its units technology a system that will map out your floorplan and then allow you to mark what areas you want it to avoid. This feature is awesome cause it means you dont have to lay anything down or buy any add ons. If you look in the picture i provided you can see how the floor layout looks. i know, it looks like a 6yr old drew it but when you think about the technology behind its processing, its actually pretty impressive. And believe me when you mark an area that is off limits it will not go near that area at all. Also once it learns your floor plan it then begins to vacuum in a normal manner now. So after it is done doing its job you now have these nice straight carpet lines from it moving up and down instead of moving in an erratic manner like most other bots. Now what happens if it sucks up a power cord or sock by accident? Well in most cases depending on how big the piece is it will shut itself down and send you a message. However power cables will not be detected and will not stop the unit. It will suck up cables and continue to keep on moving with a tail hanging out. Don't let this discourage you however cause this is pretty much an issue for just about all units on the market including the higher end ones.
So how well does it clean? Quite well to tell you the truth. The Rogue 970 will clean just about any and all animal hair out of most carpets. Its suction power is quite strong, so strong that i wouldn't use it on shag carpet and area rugs with long or thick fibers cause it will yank it so hard that the unit will get itself stuck. As far as the three modes go so far unless im looking at them wrong they seem to be related to sound and suction power. Quite mode is as it says. Its very quiet and makes almost no noise and also seems to do very light cleaning. Standard is slightly louder and is just about what your going to use for everyday use as far as suction power goes. Beast mode, well it is as the name says. The noise is louder for sure but nothing ear blowing. Its still quieter than an upright, the main difference is in beast mode you will get the the max suction power available for deep cleaning and it appears to drain the battery alot faster in beast mode. The waste bin is a little smaller than i would of liked. Its enough to clean one room then after that your going to have to empty it. If you forget to empty it no worries, the unit will let you know its full via a light on the actual unit itself or the app. The units optical sensors seem to be very heightened. Its able to very easily recognize most obstacles without bumping into them and has no problem with stairs. The unit will not attempt to go over a stair case, its sensors pick up on it then turn it around right away. It also has no issue going over transitions or area rugs either.
Heres my final verdict. You need to understand something when buying robotic vacuum cleaners and that is that no unit out there is perfect or flawless. Its more of a give and take. The biggest set back for me and this unit is the fact that all the bugs are not worked out. Im upset that Hoover would let something go that still seems like its in beta testing and not in its final stages. This doesnt bother me too much because i know over time its going to improve through firmware updates. However if you are looking for a 100% out of the box user friendly set up, then as of right now this may not be for you. But if you can get past the clunky set up and see all the potential and technology that this unit has to offer then i think your going to be very happy. This is by far my favorite cleaner now that it is all set up and working properly. The technology packed inside this unit is some of the most advance i have seen so far. In my opinion this the first cleaner i have owned or seen that will clean in perfectly straight lines. Who knows by the time you buy this product all bugs may be worked out and it may be a perfect unit after all. Either way this is a good unit for me and if you do decide to buy one just make sure you know someone who is slightly tech savvy.
The Good:
-Two hour battery life
-Beast Mode!!!
-Smart technology for floor mapping
-endless barrier set ups
-Smart obstacle avoidance
The Bad:
-Horrible WiFi set up
-An incomplete app

More hype than show?

A true wireless in the ear headset, something the future of audio on the go should already have. The big dilemma is if it can really live up to its promises. I won't waste time with specs, im going to cut to the chase and help decide if this is the right fit or buy for you.
First off lets talk about what your going to receive and how well everything works together. Out of the box your going to receive your two ear buds, charging pod (which also serves as a carrying case), micro usb cable, variety of different ear tips and ear fins. Paring is done quickly and easily. As soon as the earbuds are pulled out of the pod they will try to pair right away with your device given that your bluetooth is turned on. Lets talk about first audio impressions. Right off the bat i was very disappointed with sound quality and audio level. This is when i learned just how critical ear set up really is for this ear piece. The different ear tips are going to affect just how well the sound quality comes through. Too loose of a fitting and your sound quality is going to be drowned out by outside noise. Too tight and your going to have a very uncomfortable time while listening to your music. A nice feature was the fact that they also provided different size ear fins. The ear fins are what allow the earbuds to hook on to on your outer ear and prevent them from falling out during extreme exercise. If you find that your earbuds seem loose then most likely your ear fin set up is not right. Once i got my set up for my ears dialed in i noticed the sound quality improved greatly, however it was still lacking. The volume wasn't very high and my mids and lows sounded sub-par. I struggled to hear my vocals clearly and my bass was almost completely obsolete. Luckily like most decent audio manufactures out there Jaybird provides an app service for both android and iOS which i'm going to say is definitely a must. Linking the two together was very simple and once the download of the app was complete it took maybe a minute at most to link my earbuds. The app is where you can get the Jaybird Run to shine. Through the app you are able to set up different functions for your earbuds. Each earbud has a button which serves for a different use depending on how you set them up. For example, my volume was lacking so i chose to set up my ear buds so that the left earbud button would lower the volume and the right ear button would raise the volume. This by the way is the only way you can raise your ear bud volume aside for using your phones volume button. Now after you set your volume control you can then move your settings back to default. Under these controls your left earbud button if pressed once will bring up google assistant or siri and your right ear bud if pressed once will pause/ play your music and also pick up calls. You can also skip tracks by pressing the right earbud button twice. The Jaybird app also provides you with an equalizer with which you are able to customize your low, mid, and high range on five different points with a range of 20 Hz to 20 KHz. If your not very skilled in that area there is no need to worry. Jaybird provides you with eight pre set equalizer settings, and if those are not to your liking you can download many many more for free. Once i played with the equalizer and got my range dialed in my sound quality had improved to almost perfection. I could hear my vocals clearly all my mids and highs were perfect. Even my bass sounded great, i could almost feel the drums hitting. The sound quality was great and the fitting of the ear buds was perfect. When i took these to the gym the outside noises were just about completely gone and my earbuds never once felt like they were going to fall out. There is alot more the app can do but those were the key areas i wanted to touch on. Battery life is pretty decent, Jaybird claims four hours and i got about three and a half. One feature that i actually really liked was the way the headphones charge. The earphone pod serves as a case and charging dock. Simply plug in your micro usb cable to the pod and it will light up green and turn solid when it is finished charging the pod. When its time to to put away your earbuds in the pod the minute you close the case the earbuds will automatically power down and begin charging. So how do you know that you placed the earbuds in properly? Easy, when you close the pod a center LED light will light up letting you know the charge level of the pod and two separate lights will light up, one on the left side and one on the right side. If you did not placed your earbuds in properly when you go to close the case that LED light will not be lit up. For example lets say you placed the right ear bud in properly but not the left earbud. When you close the case the LED on the right side will be lit up and the LED on the left side will remain dark letting you know something is not right (refer to picture for example). Charging is done very quickly and a 50% charge can be brought back to 100 all with a matter of 15 minutes.
So why the three star review then? There are alot of inconsistency with the sound quality and there was constant dropping or loss of signal from the right earbud. Let me talk about some of the faults. I noticed on the first day after i got the sound dialed in it sounded beautiful. My volume was very loud and my sound quality was so crisp and clean. The next day i put my earbuds in and i noticed something had changed. My volume wasn't as loud and the sound quality had diminished very slightly. The same track that was hitting the bass very hard was now struggling to push it through. I thought maybe my settings had reset but when i checked them everything was fine. I reset my earbuds, my bluetooth and even my equalizer and still the sound quality was the same. It wasn't horrible but i am very critical of my music and it was something i noticed. On the third day i noticed my sound quality had come back but now my volume wasn't even that loud. I had my phones volume turned all the way up plus my jaybird volume turned all the way up and i still felt i needed more volume. I'm not exactly sure if this is an issue with the firmware, drivers, or bluetooth but it was something i noticed. Also another key note to keep in mind is that the bluetooth is easily interrupted. When i game or do paperwork on my computer i like to listen to music while i work. In my office i have my wireless router, wireless printer and wireless keyboard. I hate wires and have never really had an issue with them interrupting each other. While working in my office and listening to music on my Jaybirds i noticed the left earbud would keep cutting out. It would cut out for about three seconds then come back on. It would do this about every minute or so and would not stop. I figured it must of been all my wireless adapters cause the minute i left the office it seemed to correct itself. This is kind of disappointing due to the fact that all my headphones are wireless and have never had this issue. Also another issue i have with these earbuds is having to worry about losing them. Well the app provides an option to find them if you lose them. Sounds good right? Well not exactly, see i thought that when you pressed the button to find your earbuds it would ping them with an audible sound to where all you would have to do is follow the sound till you find them. This is not the case however. When you hit your button to find them all it simply does is give you the last known location via google maps of when you used it last. So lets say you think you lost them at the gym, it will pin that location for you however its a vague location and you still have to check the parking lot, the whole gym, etc. Also lets say someone steals them and you think your gonna catch them the minute they turn on your ear pieces. Well your wrong because even if they do turn on your headphones it will not give you their location unless they activate their phones GPS, so all it will do is give you your last known location of when you used your headphones last if you had your GPS activated only.
Heres my final thoughts. The Jaybird is a decent true wireless headset that should appease most average people. Yes the sound quality is decent and yes you can run, lift weights and cycle with them on and not worry about them falling out. For me however its right around that price range that has me on the fence about rather or not its a good buy. For me this just doesn't fit the bill, i would rather spend more money and have a solid set that can consistently give me the sound quality i want with few to almost no bluetooth drops. If your an avid music lover who loves working out and is very critical of their headsets like i am then this is not the buy for you. If your the type of person is wants something different and is looking for a decent sounding true wireless earbud then this should be right up your alley. Really this is going to come down to personal preference and just what exactly your looking for in a solid gym style workout piece. For me i'd rather stick with what i have and wait till they improve there product some more.
Pros:
-Lightning fast charge times
-Charging pod that serves as a case also
-Multiple ear tip and fins
-User friendly app
Cons:
-Inconsistent sound quality
-Bluetooth drop outs
-Short battery life

Decent cleaner
on October 23, 2017

from littleton, Colorado
At first glance the Deebot M81 seems to be a cleaner that can pretty much do it all. However in my opinion it seems to take on more then it can actually handle. Deebot is a Chinese based company that focus on bringing affordable technology to the table at price that most people can handle. The Deebot has many different features, there are 4 different cleaning modes, Auto which allows the robot to move at its on pace, intensive which allows the cleaner to focus on the more stubborn areas, spot cleaning which creates a spiral clean pattern and edge cleaning which focuses on the borders all along the wall. You also have the option to change out suction heads for deeper cleaning and your also giving a mop attachment to allow the cleaner to mob tile or wood floor. Sounds great right? Well there are a few areas that are lacking so lets see if this is right for you.
Out of the box your going to receive a few different items you may not be used to seeing. Your going to receive the bot, water tray, measuring cup, waste bin, remote with batteries, air filter, two brushes, two different suction heads, charging dock, and mop head attachment. I own a few different robotic cleaners with one of them being a very expensive brand name. The Deebot was going to have some very strict guidelines that i expect to be met in a decent robotic cleaner. First off not much is different then most robotic cleaners out there. The Deebot has edge protection which will not allow it to drop off stairs or offset drops. There is a bump protection and obstacle avoidance built in however right off the bat i noticed the Deebot was a little clumsy in this category. Instead of avoiding most obstacles it would run straight in to it and then would slightly adjust. Also another key note to keep in mind is the fact that it will not detect electrical cables such as cellphone chargers and power strip wires. This means that if you plan on leaving the bot alone to clean you had better make sure that all cords and small items are removed or you may leave yourself open to an interesting situation. The Deebot takes about 4 hours to fully charge and you get about two and half hours of run time which is actually really good in the robotic market. Once battery is depleted the Deebot will make its way home and dock with no issues. Cleaning schedules can be done via the supplied remote or app. The app provides access to certain functions such as bot status, schedule cleanings, replacement parts, and you can pull up a control pad which allows you to control it manually similar to a remote control car. With the remote control feature i found that it wasn't as responsive as i would of liked. There was a few seconds of delay when trying to command it where to go so i found this feature kind of useless.
Lets talk about what everyone really cares about and that is how well it actually cleans. Your given two different suction heads to be able to handle two different jobs. One is for everyday cleaning and the other is for those deep clean and pet hair removal. As a owner of pets i find myself very critical of how well cleaners can pull up all debirs without tangling. At first go the cleaner did not pull up all the pet hair over its first pass. This can be normal and sometimes most robotic cleaners will get it on the second pass. The Deebot however took about four passes to actually pull up a decent amount of hair and even at that it did not grab all of it. I decided to switch out the heads to the deep clean suction and see if this would improve its performance. It did improve it slightly, it was able to pull up more hair and only took three passes this time however i noticed the brushes were starting to tangle up a bit. Luckily the Deebot has a very big waste bin to handle its multiple passes. In fact it is probably the largest waste bin i have seen on a robotic cleaner to date. Next i tried out the mop feature which i was very excited to see in action since i don't own a cleaner that has this function. The Deebot has a separate tank that you fill up with water with the provided measuring cup. You then install the water tank to its underside and attach the mop head. Simply set down on your tile or hardwood and boom your ready to go. The Deebot will vacuum up any debris it encounters all while spraying water directly on to the mop pad. This is a pretty cool feature in theory however it falls short a few areas. For starters it works really well at first but as cleaning continues you will find that the pad gets dirty very quickly and then starts to smear all the dirt rather than actually mop it up. Yes you can buy additional pads but man they are not cheap and the price is going to add up fast. I found myself just grabbing a swifter and mopping up my kitchen and floorboards manually. Another really big turn off with the mop feature is that unless you manually block off your carpet areas it will go into that area and lay water down on the carpet. And trust me it will not pull the water up from your carpet so now your left with this damp carpet floor that now needs to be addressed. This left a really bad impression on me because most robotic cleaners out there will provided either in box or additional cost boundary strips or senors that allow you to block of areas that the cleaner is not allowed to go in to. I was not able to find a similar product for the Deebot at this time that would allow me to block of areas. This means if you want to keep it from going somewhere your going to need to lay down chairs, boxes or other obstacles to keep it out.
Here's my final take away from this product. Its very clear that they are trying to make a robotic cleaner that is capable of keeping up with some of the bigger brand names that are out there for a fraction of the cost. Yes it does the job and it does a decent job at best, however it falls short in many key categories. I truly feel that there are a lot more capable cleaners out there in this price range that will provide you with a way better experience. Deebot is a Chinese based company that while they may make good products this one tends to be one that needs to focus mainly on deep cleaning and not the mop feature. All in all its a decent product but just don't expect it to blow your mind away. At the end of the day you get what you pay for.
Pros:
-Long battery life
-Large waste bin
-Remote and app feature
-Different suction attatchments
Cons:
-Obstacle detection can be clumsy
-Mop head gets dirty fast
-Lack of barrier strips
-At times struggles to deep clean

Meet the newest member of the family
on October 20, 2017
Posted by: Crasher
from littleton, Colorado
The shark ion robot, its like having a maid who works for free. In a market that has some pretty big leading competitors that have been in the game of robotic cleaning for some time, Shark has introduced its newest member of the family and aims to hold no punches.
The Shark Ion 750 is a robotic vacuum cleaner that is able to be controlled both manually and through Shark's app available to both android and iOS users. It comes equipped with two front brushes, a tangle free/self cleaning roller. The smart sense technology is supposed to allow the bot to easily maneuver around obstacles and along walls all via a front built optical sensor which serves as its forward eyes. It is also equipped with two undercarriage optical sensor which prevent the bot from walking itself over ledges and falling down a flight of stairs. The undercarriage sensors also help in detecting when the Ion 750 stuck or in distress. So before we talk about the specifics and if this is a worthy buy lets talk about what you get out of the box.
Out of the box you are going to receive the Ion 750, a charging dock, power cord, cleaning brush, one air filter and a 9 ft. boundary strip. The first thing i did was took out the waste bin to see how big it was and how much waste it can hold. As seen in the photo provided the bin is an average size bin cable of handling one room at a time. Not the biggest bin i have seen on a robotic cleaner but not the smallest by any means. If you own an average size house with only one or two pets then you should be ok. My biggest concern at the time with this waste bin was how fast it was going to fill up seeing as how i have a long haired cat and a short haired dog. Surprisingly it did not fill up as quickly as i thought but i would have to empty the bin after each room.
Now the Shark Ion is able to be controlled by an app and based on what i see if you want to set up a cleaning schedule that needs to be done through the app and can not be accomplished manually from what i can tell. Setting up the app was very frustrating to say the least, i knew i was going to run into some issues when at first sight i saw only a 1 star review with multiple complaints regarding the app and set up. To set up the app function you need to first download Shark's mobile app, have a good wifi signal and link the two together via a step by step process done through the app. The main issue i had when trying to set up the app is every time the app would search for my wifi signal to connect the two together it would keep dropping my wifi signal. I knew this was issue on the app side seeing as how i tested my connection and wifi signal both passed with flying colors. This went on for about 15 minutes of me trying to link the two together and receiving the same "wifi signal not found" message. I was about to give up and call tech support when on my last try it finally made connection. Once it made connection the rest of the steps went quickly and the app function worked flawlessly after. Once connected to the app you can name your robot, tell him to clean, spot clean, or dock. You can also set up cleaning schedules and order replacement parts via Shark's website. Once you can get the app to work it is actually a very cool feature. I was able to command my shark ion to clean my basement via the app from work 20 miles away. And yes it does work, i had my wife verify this while i was at work. While on the app i can see current battery level and what the ion 750 is doing. It will giving me his current status. For example cleaning, charging and even distress signals ( i.e. "your robot is stuck"). If your cleaning robot gets stuck for any reason it will automatically shut it down and send you a message via the app. This is a pretty nice feature to have however i would of liked to have the option for the app to send me push notifications in the event of it getting stuck. What this means is the only way for you to know if there is an issue is for you to get on the app and check its status.
Lets talk about just how good it cleans and how much it can actually detects. The Ion 750 is not much different than most other models out there in the way of obstacle detection. It easily detects drop offs and stepped transitions and has no issue climbing small raised obstacles such as floor mats, area rugs and even mold trim. What it does struggle to detect is small obstacles such as socks, power cables and small foot wear (sandles, flip flops, etc.). The first night i used it, it could not detect my wifes sandles. It ran completely over it and got itself stuck. Luckily it detected there was an issue and shut itself off within a few seconds and sent me a message to my app. I felt the ion 750 had a pretty good safety system built in so i went up stairs, had dinner and watched a bit of T.V. while it cleaned down in the basement. About 45mins later i go down stairs to check on it seeing as how i had gotten no distress messages and i find the little robot still cleaning while dragging my cellphone cable around as if it grew a tail. Apparently it had ran over my charging cable and sucked it in to the main roller. It tangled itself around the roller but not enough to stop it from moving and not enough to send me an distress message. I realized this was going to be the most important obstacle to make sure it avoided and thats where the 9 ft. provided boundary tape came in handy. The robot is very handy at maneuvering around larger obstacles such as dressers and chairs, so for the smaller more important ones such as wires and cables i taped those areas off with the boundary tape. Its simply a magnetic strip that you place on the ground, it is not taped to the ground or nailed, it just simply lays down flat which can then be easily moved and picked up. I grabbed the robot pointing it towards the strip to see if it would work. As it drew near and approached the strip it refused to cross it and would immediately turn the other way. Problem solved! The two side brushes and main roller do a fairly good job at cleaning up. As said earlier i have two pets and the ion 750 has no issue pulling hair from the carpet or hardwood floors. Now the Shark claims a tangle free roller and from what i see that does seem to be true. The two brushes are a different story. The two side brushes get tangled very easily with any kind of hair rather it be pet or human. I would have to untangle them after each cleaning job (as seen in the provided picture). The ion 750 will also dock on its own when the battery gets low, however i noticed that it would dock as soon as it dropped down to two bars. Seeing as how a full charge is 3 bars this would give me about 1 hour of cleaning time before it tried to return home. Yes you could command it to clean again even if it only had 2 bars but still this was kind of annoying. Docking was not a problem either. I purposely placed its docking station tightly in between two pieces of furniture to test its ability to find home properly. Each and every single time it docked with ease and never once got stuck. I was impressed to say the least.
Here is the bottom line, its a robotic vacuum cleaner that does have its flaws. Keep in mind that no robotic cleaner out there is completely flawless or so smart that can detect every single key obstacle that poses a main threat. With that in mind the main flaw that really had me taken back and prevented me from giving this five stars is the annoying flawed start up on the app. All in all this is still a good product that comes from a big name leader that has established itself in the upright vacuum market. This robotic vacuum cleaner shows quality in the build and its ability to detect most obstacles and make its way home. Overall i am impressed with what i saw. If you have many long haired pets you may want to rethink buying this as constant emptying of the bin may become a nuisance
Pros:
-Status alerts
-Schedule cleaning
-Auto home function
-Provided boundary strips
-Ability to deep clean
Cons:
-Frustrating app set up
-easily tangled front brushes
-Auto docks at only 2 bars .

A blender that can do it all

The Ninja - Intelli-Sense is a blender that can pretty much handle whatever task you throw at it. Ninja in my opinion has always been a leader in the game of health and fitness when it comes to their blender and juicer lines. The Ninja - Intelli-Sense is a series that holds strong to its past with very few if any short comings. Out of the box your going to receive several items. Your going to receive the motor base (which houses Ninja's Intelli-Sense), personal 24oz blender bottle, 72oz pitcher, processor bowl, spiralizer bowl, spaghetti blade disc, fettuccine blade disc,a recipe book and four other blades to help accomplish your task. The base and heart of this whole operation looks very sleek with its glossy black touch screen that will come up with prompts based on which adapter/bowl you install. This system is based on Ninja's Intelli-Sense which basically makes this product easy to use. If you have never blended or are barely getting in to the health aspect of juicing or making your own protein drinks then this is the right product for you. Lets talk about the base for a second and how it works. So with the Intelli-Sense system if there is no adapter that is attached it will not turn itself on or even prompt any menu items on the touch screen (as seen in the attached picture). This is a great feature that helps protect the motor from free spinning and burning itself out, especially useful if you have little ones that like pressing buttons. Once an adapter/bowl is installed, the base is able to detect which adapter you have placed on it and will pull up the appropriate prompts for said adapter. In the attached picture a personal 24oz blender bottle was put on and the appropriate prompts came up for that bottle. Once you press what it is you are trying to do the blender will do all the work. For example i like to make myself personal protein drinks in the morning so once i put my items together in my 24oz supplied bottle i'll hit the smoothie option. Once i press the button i can walk away and do something else. The base will pull up the time necessary to complete the job which in this case is 30 seconds, and then it will start automatically and use the appropriate cycles to complete this. For example the blender will kick on at high speed for 3 seconds then it will stop for about 2 seconds allowing everything to settle back to the bottom, then it will start to pulse or puree for the next 5 seconds then stop so it can settle again, and so on. The biggest downfall i saw right off the bat was the noise level. This is by far the loudest blender i have ever owned in my life. I understand why its loud, which is due to its high RPM draw but i would of thought they could of found a way to at least muffle the noise bringing down the decibel level. All i have to say is if you have family or roommates living with you and your planning on making a drink before you leave in the morning, you had also better plan on waking everyone in the house up, its that loud and the only reason for me not giving it 5 stars. Lets talk about the different adapters/bowls and the options available to them. One of the adapters provided is the precision processor bowl. The options available for this are puree, chop, dip, dough, low/high speed and pulse. This is a petty cool set up that allows you to make dips and even dough for pizza or pies within the matter of seconds to minutes. Wanna make pancake batter but dont feel like making a mess? Not a problem, the precision bowl can handle the job for you all within a confined bowl in a matter of seconds with very little clean up after. Next is your standard mixing pitcher which options for that are ice cream, smoothie, frozen drink, snow cone, low/high speed and pulse. This is your standard bowl you probably grew up with and are used to seeing when making mixed drinks. Next is the spiralizer bowl which is the only adapter/bowl that does not have and automated option, meaning you have to manually hold the blend button. The main reason behind this i think is the fact that this bowl serves mainly as a chopper and noddle maker rather than an actual blender. With this your given two adapters to help accomplish your task. You have your spaghetti blade disc and your fettuccine blade disc. With the spiralizer the things you can make are endless, for example my first night i made hot dogs and i wanted curly fries. I pealed back some potatoes and used the spiralizer to make me some fresh curly fries which i then cooked. They came out a little thinner then i would of liked but nonetheless it was still a quick task accomplished. Also did i mention it can also be used to piggy back as a juicer? Well it can, and what makes it such a good juicer is the fact that everything and i mean EVERYTHING gets used and not wasted like some certain juicers out there on the market today. Look i can go on and on about all the things this all in one system can do but i would have pages of endless ramble. In reality this thing can do everything from making protein drinks on the go to making a party size of your world famous salsa for the big football game, really it comes down to the limitations of your mind.
Pros:
-Very sleek looking design
-Intelli-sense built in program
-Very well blended drinks with little to no bulk
-Multiple adapters
-Personal blender bottle for on the go drinks
Cons:
-Very loud operation

Beautiful Picture Quality

Who says you cant own a movie quality projector for a decent price? Epson that's who! I have to honestly say i have never really been a big fan of projectors. I remember when i was younger right around the early 2000's my uncle had spent a fortune on a home movie projector in his custom built movie theater room. I remember watching a movie and thinking to myself "man there is no way i could ever spend this much money for a grainy quality film that cant even hold its own contrast against a black wall." Epson has put all my doubts to rest with the home cinema 2150. Lets dive in and talk about what this thing can do and what you can expect to get out of it. First off out the box you get this big square projector, a power cable, and a real basic instruction book. I was kinda disappointed to see that they didn't include a 3.5mm audio cable but i guess i really didn't expect them to anyways. The Epson offers a few different hook ups, you have two HDMI ports with one of them being compatible for a MHL cable. A MHL cable by the way allows you to connect your smart phone directly to the projector via a hard line. You also have a usb port and a VGA port for your pc along with a 3.5mm audio jack. I was very disappointed to see that they did not offer an optical cable jack especially since alot of my audio equipment runs optical cables. Nevertheless the projector does come with a single built in speaker on the rear of the projector but trust me when i tell you that your not going to want to rely solely on that speaker. The sound quality out of the speaker is clear but its not very loud or crisp. The design of the speaker appears to be more for convenience during power point or on the go meeting presentations you may have without having to lug around all kinds of auxiliary speakers. The build of the projector appears to be of pretty good quality. You have a hard plastic shell encasing all the components with a removable air filter, high powered fan and you have trouble lights to let you know if there is an issue with the lamp or over heating (refer to picture for example). Once you turn on the projector, setting up the screen is easy, the projector will auto center it for you and all you really have to do after that is square it off and adjust the height to where you want it. The projector also provides a lens shift which allows you to raise and lower the picture by approximately 6 inches this way when you get the picture near the height you want it you can then fine tune it. Picture quality does need to be adjusted but its very easy to accomplish this. You are provided two rings/slides, one is a focus ring and the other is a zoom ring. The name kinda says it all as to what they do. The projector also has hook ups on the underside which allow for an aftermarket ceiling mount to be installed. There is also an option in the menu guide which allows and adjusts for ceiling mount and floor mount. Now lets talk about what you can do with this projector and how good the picture quality is. The picture quality is suprisingly very good. I thought i was going to have to buy a black screen backdrop or use a black sheet to get a good picture quality but i was wrong. I may be wrong but the projector almost appears to display its own natural black back drop. In the picture provided you can see a black border around the picture which kinda leads me to believe this being the reason why you can project a movie on to any color surface. The picture quality is 1080 with a 60 hz refresh rate. The movie displayed in the picture provided was done via a standard dvd player. You can also hook up your ps4 and xbox and play games off the projector. Another nice feature that the Epson offers that i was not expecting is the ability to screen mirror. What this means is pretty much most smartphones made within the last 4 years or so have the ability to mirror the phone of any device that supports this feature. Simply put what you do is you open up the source menu on the projector and scroll over to screen mirror, then when prompted to you open up your smart phone and click on the button that says smart view or screen mirror. It will then connect the two devices together wireless so that you can display everything on your phone directly to the projector. This is a pretty cool feature, lets say you have friends or family down and you want to show them some family photos you took on your trip to the beach simply link the two devices up and now the whole family can see your photos similar to your grandparents slideshow just without all the out dated technology. You can pull up facebook, email, and even power point presentations granted that your phone has the capability. More importantly you can live stream movies you may have on your google account library. Now keep in mind if you plan on streaming movies through this process you had better have a solid wifi router with a fast internet connection and a smartphone with a good processor or you will experience some lag. The possibilities of what you can do with this projector is almost endless. From everything to office presentations to backyard BBQ football games your mind is the limit with this projector.
Pros:
-awesome 1080 picture quality
-built in speaker
-ability to install on a ceiling
-Quiet cooling fan
-Versatility
Cons:
-Lack of a optical jack

It’s easy to transform your home into a safe haven with SimpliSafe’s award-winning security system. Everything is simple to set up, effortless to use, and designed to do one thing only: keep your home and family safe. Outdoor security cameras let you see everything happening in full HD. So you can spot trouble before it comes knocking and capture the evidence if it does. And if someone tries to break in, the burglary sensors will sound the alarm right away. But that’s not all. Whenever your alarm goes off, we’ll call you and send police, firefighters, or ambulances to your door in a snap — and stay on the line with you until they arrive. So no matter where you are or what you’re doing, your home is protected 24/7.

How do the cameras attach to the house?

the outdoor cameras are attached via magnets to the base. The only item that requires 2 screws to mount is the base plate. Once the base plate is mounted then the cameras are attached and removed via magnets.

Do you have tonoay for monthly monitoring

you dont have to pay for a monthly subscription however keep in mind the free plan is very basic and i mean very basic. The free plan only allows for you to disarm and arm the system and allows the siren to go off if the alarm is triggered however they will not call the police and they will not allow for your video footage to be recorded. So it basically forces you in to a monthly plan but keep in mind there is no contract so you can cancel at any time.

does this camera system run on a 5g mhz speed wifi i have at&t fiber internet and my camera system that i have now BLINK only works off of 2.4 mhz speed .

Good question. On my Linksys it runs on the 2.4 band and as of right now there is no option on the Simplisafe app to move it over to the 5g band.

Can cameras be plugged into power while mounted to wall or do they have to be charged then put up. And pull down to charge when dead

So the wireless cameras can either be mounted wirelessly or hardwired in to a wall outlet. If you dont feel like charging the battery every month or so then you do have the option to wire them in as well. As far as charging goes the batteries are removable from the cameras so this way when it comes time to charge them you dont need to charge the whole camera unit just simply the battery pack.

What are the triggers like on this controller? Are they like normal Xbox controller triggers with a long pull or do they use any trigger stops for a shorter pull?

The triggers can not be adjusted as you would find on a Astro controller. As far as pull goes it feels very similar to a xbox trigger pull and has medium senisitivity. The pull is not short but does not feel long either. Most actions seem to activate after about pulling a 1/4 of a inch.
