Excellent Wi-Fi Router and Extender combo!

D-Link - Covr AC3900 Dual-Band Whole Home Wi-Fi System
I have had the opportunity to test several “Whole Home Wi-Fi” systems this year, and this is by far the best one I have tried.
My only complaint was that the app (on my iPhone 7) didn’t work to start the install. I had to resort to the time honored web browser 192.168.1.1 method. The router’s web page actually had a very nice setup wizard.
Once the main router was up and running, I connected the extended and got it set up. I then moved it to a room that is at least 50 feet away with several walls in the way and has always had a poor signal. After plugging in and booting up the extender, much to my surprise it connected just fine to the router. None of the other “mesh” systems I tried out could connect from this room.
This router really had a better range than the previous one I had in place, even without the extender, but the extender allowed me to cover a previously dead area.
I am very pleased with the performance of this D-Link - Covr AC3900 Dual-Band Whole Home Wi-Fi System, and can highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve the Wi-Fi coverage in their homw or business.

Keep an eye on your home with this two pack of D-Link Mini HD Wi-Fi cameras. They have sound and motion detection and can send notifications to mobile devices to let you know when they've activated. These D-Link Mini HD Wi-Fi cameras have night vision to record images in dark conditions.

Great cameras that are easy to set up!

These D-Link Mini HD cameras were extremely easy to set up, and do a fantastic job.
If you are looking for cameras to keep an eye on stuff around your house, these are a great and inexpensive solution. They have motion and sound detection, and will send alerts to your mobile phone.
The setup consists of installing an app on your phone, creating an account, plugging in the cameras, and scanning the QR code on the bottom of the camera into the app. You can password protect the cameras, and they are viewable anywhere you have your phone. You can also access them on a PC, whether at home or anywhere else.
The app does have a record feature, so if you get a notification you can snap a still or record video of what’s happening.
Also, they work in the dark, because they have Infrared ability built in.
These cameras are built strictly for indoor use, but can be used to point outside a window, as long as you put them right up against the glass. If they sit too far back they pick up a lot of reflection.
I can highly recommend these cameras for anyone looking for a way to keep an eye on their stuff without breaking the bank.

This Linksys - WRT32X AC3200 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Gaming Router with Killer Prioritization Engine was a great upgrade for me!
The setup was painless, and I was able to get my previous SSID and password configured quickly. None of my devices had issues connecting, and the speed difference over my old router was noticeable.
While I am not really a gamer, and don't have a "Killer"-enabled PC, this router made a big improvement in my network speed and reliability.
The included USB ports were a nice addition - I was able to connect a WD external hard drive and access it from anywhere in the house.
I can highly recommend the router to anyone looking for a fast and stable wi-fi network, and if you happen to have a "Killer"-enabled PC, then get it quick!

We love this Keurig K-Select! We had been using a smaller Keurig, which required you to pour a coffee cup full of water into the back to brew a cup. It worked, but was very inconsistent.
This model is a great upgrade - there is a water container on the side that holds enough to make several cups, and it seems to heat up and brew faster than our old model.
There is the option to brew 4 different size cups, along with a "Strong" brew option. We haven't had to use that option, as the coffee has been strong enough for us.
The construction is also of a much higher quality. From the handle on top of the cup holder to the overflow tray, every part feels more sturdy.
Another handy feature of this model is that the cord is much longer than the previous one!
If you are a fan of coffee in the K-Cup format, I can highly recommend the Keurig K-Select Single Serve K-Cup Pod Coffee Maker.

This grill is fantastic – it really works as advertised, and does a great job no matter what food you are grilling!
I do have a standard propane grill for use outside, but was looking forward to testing out this new Philips Indoor Electric Grill. I was hoping it would work well, so that I’d be able to grill in winter, or in bad weather. The grill exceeded my expectations.
We have grilled pork chops and chicken thighs, and they both cooked up nice and even, with perfect grill marks. We also grilled up some pineapple, and that also came out very nice.
The heat is very even throughout the surface of the grill (unlike my propane grill!), and it is ready to go in a quick 5 minutes or so. And the “smokeless” claim is true – even with a lot of marinade on the chicken, there was very little if any smoke.
Clean up is very easy, but the inside panels do seem a little harder to keep clean. The grill top and the drip tray are both removable and very easy to clean. I have not bothered to put them in the dishwasher, as washing them by hand is easy enough.
I cannot recommend this grill highly enough! It would be great for people in apartments that cannot have an outdoor grill, but is equally useable for someone who wants the ability to grill indoors with minimal fuss.
Make sure you read the manual thoroughly, and do NOT stare into the grill while it is on. :)

I have been able to test several different brands of headphones recently, and these are my new favorite!
First, and most important – the sound quality of these headphones is fantastic! Crystal clear, very full range, excellent bass.
These are very well designed, and seem like they are built to last a lifetime. The hinges allow them to fold up very compactly, and the included carrying case is a nice touch. I also like the fact that the cables also fit inside the case. Other high-end models that I have tested had the cable in a separate pouch, which to me seems like more trouble than necessary. And the "JBL-Orange" charging cable is a nice touch.
Also, they are beautiful – mine were a very attractive silver finish. They are available in other colors too, but these were very nice and understated.
Not being having Noise-Cancellation will turn some people off, but that is not something I look for in headphones. And that would probably increase the price way over the $199 level anyway.
The control buttons are a little small, but I prefer to use the controls on my phone anyway. I’m sure I would get used to them after a little more use.
Over all, these are a great set of headphones, and I can highly recommend them!

The Samsung Connect Home 3-Pack gives you the ability to add W-Fi connectivity to a fairly large space, and adds the convenience of controlling SmartHome devises too!
Setting up the Samsung Connect Wi-Fi router requires the use of a smartphone/tablet, but the app is available for both Android and iOS devices.
Setup was actually fairly simple, and I liked the fact that each of the three units had both In and Out Ethernet ports. They didn’t seem to rely on seeing each other as much as some other brands of mesh networking devices.
The units are small and sleek looking, and the cables included are very well designed and constructed. That was a nice change for once!
As I do not own any SmartHome devices, I was unable to test that functionality, but from what I have read in other reviews it seems to be easy to set yup and works well.
Based on my experience with these units, I can highly recommend them for someone wanting to add Wi-Fi to their network, especially in a multi-story house. And if you happen to have Ethernet jacks available, all the better!

This HP Omen 25" monitor has a great picture quality, but WOW - when connected to my HP Omen Gaming PC it is phenomenal!
The ability to run at 144Hz, as opposed to the standard 60Hz, really makes a difference when gaming. Not sure it would be too noticeable in everyday office type use, but that isn't who buys these. :)

Fantastic Bluetooth speaker, with great sound

The LifeProof - AQUAPHONICS AQ11 Portable Bluetooth Speaker packs a lot of sound into a relatively small package!
I have previously tested the AQ10 model from LifeProof, so I had a good idea what to expect from its larger AQ11 sibling, and I wasn’t disappointed.
The Bluetooth connection is easy, and paired quickly with my iPhone 7. The sound is richer and fuller than the AQ10, as would be expected from the larger speaker drivers.
I am now using the AQ11 connected via cable to my PC. The sound is just as nice as via Bluetooth, and capable of getting way louder than I expected (or can get away with at work).
The controls on top are easy to read and use, but they of course only work with a Bluetooth connected device.
The battery seems to last at least 12 hours on a charge, but I have been using it plugged in at work. One downside is that the charger is a proprietary, and requires an AC outlet. A USB charging solution would have been better for mobile use.
I have not used the waterproof storage compartment yet, but I do like the larger size compartment on this model. It looks like it would hold a lot more, including my iPhone if I removed it from its Otterbox.
The USB charging port is twice as powerful as on the AQ10, showing a rating of 1 Amp, but it still is not enough to charge an iPhone 7.
I have not tested the waterproof design, and don’t plan too, but it is sure nice to know that I don’t have to worry about a little rain hitting it.

Also, I really prefer the black color on this AQ11 over the silver/green combo that I have on the AQ10.

The LifeProof - AQUAPHONICS AQ10 Portable Bluetooth Speaker packs a surprising amount of sound into a small package!
When I was given the opportunity to review this speaker, I wanted to get the larger AQ11 model. Those weren’t available, so I was sent the AQ11. I was thinking that only the larger model would give me the full (and loud!) sound I wanted. Boy, was I wrong!
I first tried the speaker connected via Bluetooth to my iPhone 6, and used the Fox Sports Go app to listen to a Cleveland Indians game while outside, Initially, the volume of the AQ10 was not overwhelming. The sound was clear, but didn’t seem loud enough for outdoor use. Then…the game took a commercial break, and the sound came screaming out! Typical of TV sound for almost all of my 55 years – commercials are way louder then programs.
I am now using the AQ10 connected via cable to my PC. The sound is rich and full, and capable of getting way louder than I expected (or can get away with at work).
I am glad now that I got the AQ10, as the AQ11 weighs twice as much, and thus would be more hassle to carry around.
The controls on top are easy to read and use, but they of course only work with a Bluetooth connected device.
The battery seems to last around 12 hours on a charge, but I have been using it plugged in at work. One downside is that the charger is a proprietary, and requires an AC outlet. A USB charging solution would have been better for mobile use.
I have not used the waterproof storage compartment yet, and really don’t see me using it in the future either. That certainly doesn’t bother me to have it though.

What are the benefits of the NEW ROKU 3 over the ROKU 2XS version (mine is 2-3 years old)?
I believe the processor is faster, which makes things runs smoother. It has the latest Wi-Fi, plus an ethernet port. Does the 2XS have Ethernet?
