I can't imagine anyone over thirty years of age having not seen this yet. If you haven't because of the sci-fi elements then keep in mind it's a film about so much more. This is one of Spielberg's finest works and the transfer to 4k is fantastic, not perfect but fantastic.
My wife wanted to see this because of the young actress in the title role as my wife use to watch her on the Young and the Restless.
Entertaining movie with some fine acting. It never left me very sad but it had so excited very tender moments. Good family movie. It did have a few times where they used questionable bad words but with today's movies choices this is one of the few you don't have to feel uncomfortable to watch.
In many ways I felt like this was the point in the series when it began to feel a bit more mature and adult original, a bit darker compared to the first two films when the cast were much younger. The series begins to grow up a bit more and feels more serious. Great acting with the right amount of humor mixed in.
Picked this up for 10 bucks at Bestbuy for the awesome steelbook art. I didn't own this one yet. Contains a digital copy.
Tells the origins of how it all started in regards to the first film. Adds a necessary piece to the franchise without feeling out of place compared to the other films.
If you already own The Godfather on Bluray the you aren't missing anything you don't already own. I was disappointed it did not contain a digital copy of the film. I'm not sure why it did not but I've been told a lot of older films don't due to film rights but I'm sure it's a money grab. I don't have any plans to purchase a digital copy separately but just FYI if you're looking at this 45 year anniversary release it isn't anything special and no digital copy.
This was a movie that could have been so much more. Everyone in this movie embraces their roles with the exception of Matt Damon. His performance left me with the feeling he did this role as a favor or an obligation to something he didn't want to do. Beyond that the movie had fantastic effects and great acting. I'm not sure why it didn't have a 3d bluray release because some of the effects were obviously meant for 3d.
