Works well for general computer use & gaming

I used to wear glasses but my vision was never that bad. In fact, in one eye I have 20/10 which is better than average vision, however in my other eye I am 20/30. Due to taking certain medications that I'm on for my health my eyesight improved enough where wearing glasses was actually impeding my sight rather than helping it and so I went back to not wearing glasses. So for that reason I was interested in these as I am on the computer a lot and I'm a gamer as well.
Putting these on for the first time really feel as if you see nothing different, until, that is, when you look at a computer screen. These significantly cut down on the glare emanating from a computer screen and you can immediately see things more clearly. The glasses sit comfortably on my head and after a few minutes I really didn't notice them anymore.
Using the sunshades really does a lot to darken them for rare occasion when I choose to venture out into the world so that is nice. The magnetic clip is strong, so strong that in fact when you get them anywhere near the actual glasses it will pull right into them and match up perfectly. This is much better than the magnetic clips I've used in the past. The entire thing also comes with a really nice case that also closes by magnetic closure.
All in all I do plan to wear these when I game mostly, or on the rare occasion I get a bit of a headache from too much PC work. Ideally one would wear these all of the time I suppose but I think I will mostly concentrate on wearing them before bed as they say that is the time blue light can affect you the most. I took off one star for these being so expensive but other than that I can really recommend these, especially to gamers, or folks who find they may be affected by the blue light that can interfere with one's sleep.

A huge, fast memory card that works great!!

If you have a Nintendo Switch then you know that some of the games can be absolutely huge (I am looking at you Diablo 3) and eventually, faster than you might think, you are going to run out of space and need to add a memory card. You want to be selective and buy a memory card that is going to not only have the space that you want but also have the necessary speed so that it works well without slowing down any of your games.
A Nintendo branded card means that Nintendo has not just licensed their name and/or game likeness to put on your card but it also means that Nintendo has signed off on your card being fast enough to play games efficiently and without any sort of slowdown. That's where the Sandisk Fortnite Edition comes in. And even better if you're a Fortnite player because this card comes with an in game weapon skin that is considered to be very rare (it comes in the form of a redeemable code that is included with the card, so be careful to not throw out any documentation or items that come in the box). This is a nice addition to the package as a whole.
I also like the fact that this card is bright pink. You may be wondering why? Well because it makes this tiny, tiny card, much easier to spot if you drop it! I installed this card to replace a previous Sandisk 32Gb card and it gives me so much more space. Everything seems very fast loading as well, even faster than my old card. I generally don't wear headsets a lot as I mostly game single player but they are nice to have even when not in a game just to wear to listen to music and sound effects from your PC. And on the rare occasion I do get online for multiplayer I want a headset that works with minimal tweaking and that allows others to hear me clearly. Razer has done a very good job with the Barracuda Pro in regards to the simplicity and ease of use with which you can get this headset working.
Opening up the box for the first time shows a really nice, minimalistic approach, think Apple products, to a headset that is easy to setup and get going. Once you install the Razer software Synapse you should then use it to check for a firmware upgrade, of which mine did require one. Be aware the process is going to take longer than you think, even with a superfast computer (I used this headset with a brand new Alienware AMD computer that is very speedy) but that's ok, don't disconnect anything and let it do it's thing.
Once the firmware was updated then I was able to start using the headset and the first thing I noticed was the ABSOLUTE comfort of these on your head. First of all they feel very soft and overall plush I think would be the best word to describe them. Then you notice how light they are but how good of a job they do covering your entire ear and sealing out much noise. The overall sound is quite clear and even the bass on a thumping track sounds good and not muddied up. In games the directional sound is very good and helps you track where enemies are in the game better than hearing it from a stereo speaker set.
I played for nearly a week online and although I did not ask anyone how clearly they could hear me (or not) I can safely say that not a single person said anything about the quality of the mic on the Barracuda Pro. So despite the many professional reviews claiming the mic on this is not as good because it's inside of the headset rather than an external directional mic, well I call nonsense. It may not be as good of sound as other headsets, this is true, but it cannot be all that bad if in a week of gaming not a single person said anything about it.
Now as for battery life, I used this thing a lot and it seemed to last a long time. I admit I am not the best when it comes to tracking battery life, and that is mostly because I always put my items on charge when I am done with them so they are usually never exhausted, but I do know that I never once had this thing die unexpectedly on me or get the perception the batteries don't last long enough.
I never had the batteries run down even to the point where the thing warning beeped at me in fact. So I cannot say exactly how long the headset lasts without recharging but it certainly doesn't seem to be an issue from my use.

All in all I believe Razer has a huge winner here on its hands with the Razer Barracuda Pro. The aesthetics are very good and look "gamer-like" enough but not too much so, this headset could easily pass for regular headphones rather than a gaming headset. The sound quality is fantastic, even at high volumes and to me, most importantly, the thing is super comfortable and not heavy on your head. I would also like to point out these are pretty "cool" as in your head does not get hot and sweaty. If these were at all bulky or hot I can assure you I would have gotten sweaty at some point but thankfully I never did.
I would definitely recommend this headset, despite the somewhat high price point I think you are getting a clear cut, top tier, fantastic headset in the Barracuda Pro. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

The absolute BEST mouse you can find on the PC!!

I owned the original Logitech G502 and I absolutely loved it. However, in time, it seemed to get less and less of a charge and eventually it would only last a day. I then switched to the ASUS ROG Chakram, which is a heavier mouse, but has a joystick on it that I thought I would utilize in some games. As it turned out I did not really find much use for that and so when I saw this I thought I would love to try it. The fact that it has really cool RGB (yes I'm one of those folks who love RGB) then that was a deal clincher for me.
Getting the Logitech G502 X, for those who have had the original, will seem very familiar. The ergonomics are a little better and you get the really, really awesome light on the mouse which is the best RGB integration into a mouse that I have seen yet. And believe it or not it really does not shorten the battery life much either.
Speaking of battery life, the mouse, when fully charged, says it will give about 39 hours. I have found so far that, surprisingly, it is actually pretty close to that. I believe I am at about 30 hours now and I am at 26% left. You can adjust how long the light stays on, how bright it is, how long until the light dims, etc so Logitech gives you very fine control over the RGB. You can even turn it off if you're one of those boring and stodgy people who don't like fun.
All in all I have been using the G502 X for a week and let me tell you, it lives up to the original G502's claim to the greatest mouse ever. I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the absurdly cool, free spinning, mouse wheel, which allows you to move up and down very fast or very finely. It is the cap on an already great mouse. New users may find it a little odd, my wife kept spinning too far, but you can get used to it pretty quick.
All in all, perfect ergonomics, fantastic RGB lighting, strong battery life, complete customization of the lights and buttons, this mouse is the clear cut winner and the best mouse a PC gamer, or even just a PC user, can buy right now. As good as the ASUS ROG Chakram is this is better. A CLEAR CUT BEST MOUSE ON THE PC.

Backbone handily superior to the Kishi!

I am not much of a phone gamer at all. I have tried and tried but I could never really get into phone games. I own all the consoles and I play hundreds of games yearly but the phone thing? Well I never bought in. Until Diablo Immortal. Then I knew I would game on my phone, at least for that one game. Well it came out and lo and behold I was right. I had become a phone gamer. But now I need to find some sort of joystick with a phone cradle or something I thought. Enter the Backbone.
But wait, Razer has an offering too. Theirs is called the Kishi and it's cheaper, in some cases half the price of a Backbone. Well there's a reason for that. The primary reason from what I've read is the Kishi has smushy buttons. If you're a gamer you already know what smushy buttons means. It's muddy, non-tactile feedback, or lack of feedback when you hit a button. Razer makes a lot of great products but the only reason I could see anyone should ever buy a Kishi over the Backbone is simply because you do not have the funds to purchase a Backbone, it's just that simple.
Now we have that out of the way we can move on to this fine product. Opening it up reveals a very simple and yet elegant display of a gorgeous new bone white Backbone for the PS5. Which I admit is a little confusing because it's really not just for a PS5 but marketing has made this one the PS5 version and branded it Sony. So in case you're wondering, you do NOT need a PS5 to use this product. You can choose to ignore all the Sony stuff on this product and still get a terrific product. I just want to make it clear, yes this Backbone works fantastic with the PS App and streaming PS5 games, it does, but I also want to let everyone know that it's marketing that makes this Backbone a "Playstation thing" more than any real narrowing of the product support to be primarily that of a Sony product.
Which brings me back to..Diablo Immortal. Diablo Immortal is made by Activision Blizzard and is a phone and PC based game that has nothing at all to do with Sony or Playstation. And it is what I primarily play on my Backbone. I play it when my wife is clothes shopping (especially then), when I am waiting at the doctor's office, I play it everywhere I go pretty much and boy does it make life nice to be able to kill time easily. The other day I was at my doctor's in fact and had to wait about 45 minutes. With the Backbone it was just a great time running rifts in Diablo Immortal though and when the nurse came out to call me back I almost asked "can I get another 10 minutes" but I didn't, heh.
The buttons and the feel of the Backbone is perfect. There is no smushy or muddy buttons. The buttons are clear, do not stick and give perfect tactile feedback. The Backbone is made very, very sturdy, heavy duty plastic and while I'm sure you could break it if it dropped wrong I get the feeling that short of running this thing over with a car you'll be just fine. So it looks great, plays great and is durable.
What about the idea you have to subscribe to an app to use Backbone though?
I see this all the time on social media because people are ignorant. You can subscribe to Backbone but it is not required to use Backbone. The subscription just gives you access to their app which offers some in game things like recording and such, all things you can do on your phone if you don't want to spend the extra money. But just to be clear, you do NOT need to subscribe to anything to use this product. Once you buy it then it will work with your phone now and always without any subscription.
With that in mind I do think the subscription is worth it because it does provide a really nice, clear cut home screen with all your apps arranged by logical order and sorted by most recently used. It also provides an easier way to record screenshots and video rather than using your phones software. I said easier, which it is, but again all of this can be done from most modern phones, especially if you have a phone that is recent, or within the last few years.
I will say that using this the way it is marketed, towards Sony and Playstation fans, that it also works fantastic. I used the PS App and got connected very quickly to my Playstation 5. I had already set up the correct options on my PS5 to do so. I'm on a 1Gb fiber connection and using a modern, Wifi 6 Router (An ASUS) just for reference. I was able to play MLB The Show 22 for a significant amount of time using my created pitcher. Pitching and hitting requires very little to zero lag and so I thought it was an excellent test of using the Backbone the way that Sony would like and I am happy to say that although even on my modern, very fast setup that although there was a smidgeon of lag, I was able to pitch just fine after a few pitches acclimating myself. I was actually really amazed it played as well as it did.
As I said, I saw a tiny bit of lag but it was so miniscule I was able to adjust quickly and although I did this entire little experiment more for the purposes of this review I am not going to lie when I say, wow, I can just play MLB The Show and other of my PS5 games pretty much anywhere here in the house and so maybe marketing will have converted me once this is all said and done.
Here's the bottom line, Backbone is not a cheap product but it is the absolute best product in this category. There is no real competition in my view. Yes the Kishi by Razer would be what many folks consider the primary competition but it's not from where I stand because this is a premium product and the Razer Kishi is a value product.
If you are in the market to play some games on your phone, and your wallet gives you permission, there is no need to do any further research or reading, simply go buy a Backbone! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Note: There is no real need to go online and request a free Iphone Max adapter from Backbone (something they offer on their site, you do have to pay $5 shipping though) because every Backbone now comes with a small adapter which makes for a better fit using the modern, big iPhones. Yes you can most certainly use it without the adapter so no worries there. It's just a more snug, better fit with the adapter. The adapter is in the box on the top flap in a special compartment.

Sony does it again! This headset is amazing!

Sony has entered into the headset market with a surprisingly fantastic headset right out of the gate. This has to be one of the most comfortable headsets that you will ever put on your head. And they remain that way even after hours of use. They also are good at not causing you to get hot, they seem very breathable in that respect and I never got sweaty due to the headset, something I've had a real issue with when it comes to other headset offerings.
When you first receive your Sony headset it comes in a rather large, very snazzy looking box. There's not much to be seen in this box, mostly just your headset, and a few other items related to instructional. The headset is setup by scanning a bar code that takes you to a page. But we will get to that later. The actual unboxing of this product made me pretty hopeful that the headset would live up to the aesthetics of the initial impression.
Putting the Inzone H7 on for the first time is an experience. Despite the fact that I'm 52 and have owned probably hundreds, or close, of various very high end headsets, I was very impressed when I put them on for the first time. In fact, it was just a week or so ago but I distinctly remember that I should write something in the review about that initial try on. It's just that comfortable.
You press the circular button to turn on and you have to hold it about 2 seconds, then you'll hear it fire up. The mic is rather large but you can swing it up to both get it out of the way and to also mute it. I did go ahead and install the Sony App that takes pictures of your ears (this is optional) and then it made a soundscape for me. It sounded impressive once complete but to be honest I don't know how much of it changed from the initial soundscape as that sounded good as well.
Clarity wise I had some friends who I was gaming with give me some feedback. My last headset, the Razer, I said the clarity of the microphone must be pretty good since no one complained but some folks online told me that doesn't necessarily ring true, some folks may mute you if your mic is bad. So with that in mind I went online and gamed with some random folks and then once I was comfortable with them I began asking and there were no complaints, in fact some said I was very clear, so I think that bodes pretty well for the microphone aspect for the online gamers.
As for the quality of the music, it's very good. The directional sounds and how Sony does it with their tech is pretty amazing. This can be demonstrated either on a PC (go to Youtube and look up directional sound, Sony, things of that nature to hear the massive difference from stereo to directional sound) or you can simply try these on your PS5, if you are fortunate enough to own one of those consoles.
I concluded my PC test and really was sort of reluctant to take these to the game room as they may such an excellent PC headset. But take it to my game room I did and got it hooked up to my PS5 in no time. I ran the 3D demo and holy cow, they need to demo these in malls or Best Buys because just hearing it and how much better it is than even Atmos is pretty incredible. Just reading about it is not going to change your opinion though, you need to experience it.
As for durability, these things do use some plastic but it's a very hard plastic. Only time will tell if there are any weak spots in the hinges or something to that effect so we cannot know this. However, judging from the headset quality I think it is unlikely these will eventually break. I will say I take excellent care of all of my products, use them mostly exclusively, do not smoke and I rarely have products fail on me.
All in all this is an amazing headset and I think Sony has a huge hit on it's hands. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Blazingly fast gaming PC w all bells & whistles!

Blazingly fast gaming PC with all bells and whistles! That's my headline and I'm sticking to it. This is a fantastic, but absolutely huge but beautiful, beast of a machine that will run anything you throw at it. Save for a couple of minor miscues this one checks about all of the boxes that gamers will want and then some.
First is the unpackaging. It's good to see companies are learning to make their high end products feel high end by providing for a very simple and elegant unboxing. This PC only comes with a few small cards and an AC Adapter in the large box and that is all. That's all you need though. Plug it in, open it up, remove the keyboard guard and fire it up. You are into Windows 11 very, very fast! If you're coming from an older computer be prepared to be amazed. And even if you're not, you may still be.
Once in you can see Alienware did not load this PC up with any bloatware. Not even a trial of McAfee which was the only thing I got on my recently received Dell business PC. You do only have 1 TB of SSD space so don't go crazy installing everything. This brings me to my next item, yes you can add another SSD to it. It took me a bit of looking around on Youtube to see the inner workings of this PC but yes it does have another slot for a 2280 sized SSD so that will be the first thing us gamers are going to want to upgrade (add in addition to the main drive).
My first true test of this was Microsoft Flight Simulator 2022 running the Top Gun mission #2. I maxed out everything in graphical settings, putting it all to Ultra. Sure that's a lot but remember we are running at 1920 x 1080 so should be no issue for this PC. And it wasn't an issue. The game looked stunning and ran flawless, it almost looked real to be quite honest. Next up was Red Dead Redemption 2, which is in my opinion the best looking PC game ever made. How would this PC fare in the wild, wild west? Well amazingly as it turns out. The game looked as real as I have ever seen. Uncapped frame rates around 100 FPS and at times much higher. These two games are the most demanding I ran on maxed out settings but I did play a lot more and everything ran great. Only had one crash to my desktop and that was in Red Dead 2 but I was doing several other things including Windows updates so I don't believe it was a "real" crash per se.
This is not going to be the most portable laptop, I think anyone that gets this PC knows that coming in but it is worth mentioning that this is a big, big and heavy laptop to tote around. Unless you're a young person who really is strong and doesn't mind the heft you should be buying this with the intention to mostly use it wherever you park it and not be bouncing around in it like it's a on the go device.
Now let's get to a couple of cons of the machine. First up is the UEFI. UEFI for those of you who may not know is basically what us old timers call CMOS. It's where you go to add or change things, really tweak things, and of course if desired overclock. I have seen a lot of UEFIs/CMOS' in my day and they used to be very ugly and DOS based. Now however most of them are very much like a GUI and you can even use a mouse. Not Alienware. Despite this PC being about as high tech as it gets the UEFI is something from a 1993 HP Laptop more than a modern gaming device. It's just abysmal, it's ugly, it's not got many options and I just sort of get the feeling Alienware really never intended for us customers to be poking around in there. This may not matter one bit to many of you but I know it will to some.
The last complaint is the thermals. No this PC doesn't run hot, even while running Flight Simulator or Red Dead. But one would not know that unless you knew how to find that out. Why? Because the Alien Command Center doesn't function correctly. I have this on my home PC for my monitor and it doesn't work there either. Here it mostly works, you can go in and change your RGB lighting on the machine (which btw is extremely cool if you're into RGB, it's really pretty amazing how much it makes the machine look so good) and that all works. Click on THERMALS or OVERCLOCK tabs though and be ready to look at the hourglass. Now I thought I was just being impatient last night so today I went to THERMALS tab and saw that hourglass, got me a cup of coffee and let it go. And hour later it was pretty apparent that I would never get to see any thermals. Ditto for the OVERCLOCK tab, if you want to overclock you are going to have to find another way (hint one is that ugly UEFI, it's buried but in there).
Alienware apparently has the hardware down pretty well, may want to farm out the software though if Alienware Command Center is any indicator. But that's it for the negatives, a crappy UEFI and a non-responsive Alienware Command Center. The first is just aesthetics mostly (one could argue they could have added a lot of things beyond just improving aesthetics though) but the second is important. You have to have a way to know how hot a gaming PC is getting, ESPECIALLY a very expensive and nice one like this. Alienware should know this! So I downloaded HWInfo, a free program, set up two sensors, one for the CPU and one for the GPU and now they are on my system tray. As it turns out the machine idles about 35 Celsius for both CPU and GPU. I have not seen any temperature exceed 75 celsius yet on anything I've run, which is ideal, especially for a laptop of this size and peripherals that it powers.
To say that I'm "over the moon" for this Dark Side of the Moon laptop is an understatement. This is enough computer and graphical power here to run just about anything and serve as a valid desktop replacement. With the stunning aesthetics, the blazing speed, the low temps and just all around incredibleness of this PC Alienware has a real winner on it's hand. I can recommend this to anyone without hesitation. Congratulations to Alienware, this one is going to be very difficult to beat! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The best gaming, white mouse with RGB. PERIOD.

This is a really nice mouse that is definitely going to turn some heads with the really nice RGB and overall white look. Setting it up entailed installing ROCCAT swarm, updating the firmware and then after a short charging session it was on to using the mouse. My first thing to do was to get it charged, then see what the RGB lighting was able to do. There are at least 3 or 4 different areas that light up on this mouse and they are not small areas, but rather large swaths of the mouse. The reason for an imperfect 5 stars is that I did deduct a star for the battery life, which is not too great the way I had set it up (max brightness) and so that is why it is not 5 stars.
Using the mouse in games is great, no lag or stuttering, it's very reliable and does very well. I have used it for about a week or more with heavy game use, including titles such as F1 2022, Diablo Immortal, Red Dead Redemption 2, etc and not once did I ever notice the mouse in regards to a fail in a game caused me to lament the mouse. The mouse is an excellent gaming mouse.
Lastly, the aesthetics of this thing are simply off the charts, it's especially bold to have the white mouse look but then you amp it up with the lighting and it just looks totally amazing. I have to give Roccat credit for this one, it's just a fantastic mouse. I have tweaked my battery life a bit by turning down the brightness and I think this mouse is a real keeper. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Fantastic PC in every way..except for gaming!

I have several laptops and each of them seem to be a jack of certain trades. I have a gaming laptop, a web surfing laptop and now this laptop which I consider to be an expert of everything except for gaming. Setting this up was easy and took about 30 minutes, most of the time being simply downloading Windows updates. The facial recognition was easy to setup and login every time I have tried is instant using Windows Hello login.
The actual computer itself is a beautiful alpine green and it really has a modern, sleek look to it. It's very impressive. It's not super lightweight but is not too heavy either. The clamshell is easily manipulated to allow you to manipulate the machine in any way you see fit. The touch screen is amazing, the best I've ever used and I have never had it fail to register an input in several days of use. It's a lot better than my older HP laptop with touch screen.
Now the best feature to discuss is most definitely the OLED screen. It's the best thing about the laptop and the 16" screen is so good it makes me long for the day when (and if) we can get these types of displays for our PC monitors. I know that OLED is quite popular in TV but don't think I've seen them used in most home PC displays. Maybe it is because of gaming, I'm not sure, but I will say that this machine, despite doing everything besides gaming, is pretty poor at gaming.
It even struggles to run Diablo Immortal without lag, but I realize that Diablo Immortal on the PC is in beta so I decided maybe I should try some other games. Well I tried Microsoft Flight Simulator, Doom Eternal and in neither game did things go well...in fact even at lowest settings the games were largely unplayable.
This laptop has USB-C inputs and that is how it gets its power. I say about time we start seeing this in laptops! My wife played Diablo Immortal on it when it was on battery and she got nearly 2 hours into it before the laptop was about 10% left and she called it a day. I imagine if you want to play games on this laptop it should be games like Texas Hold Em and games of that nature, games with very little moving parts.
Now, everything else, aside from gaming, is just awesome on this laptop. How it looks, how it transports, the quality, the build, the actual Windows 11 performance, all are top notch . I have to give this PC 5 stars if you're not a gamer, but since I am a gamer I give it four stars.
I highly recommend this laptop to anyone, unless you want to game, then you should look elsewhere. As for me, I've got this mounted in my office area now to use daily as a nice counterpart to my beastly gaming PC that is a desktop. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Easy to setup, beautiful effects, what more can you ask for? Well this one paired up quite easily with my iPhone 13 and using it was easy to get started. The effects are amazing on the actual lamp, you can play with the effects a lot in the app. The app never has locked up on me and always seems to find the lamp so far in my time with it.
The app was easy to get and installed without any issue. Then of course you have to do the pairing, thankfully this was easily done and done correctly on the very first try. This is often a major point of contention from me is how well does it install the app and pair up, a lot of effort or very little? Thankfully in this case it was actually very little effort to get the app, install it, create an account and then have it recognize the actual lamp. All done on the first try without much effort at all and so far the connection is rock solid.
I'd recommend this one to anyone looking for a nice mood lamp. I recommend particularly the Stormy Skies effect.

I don't imagine it would be that difficult to remove, however, I have read that in doing so you will invalidate your warranty. I'd look for a similar drive without a heatsink.

Is this product has app that can be accessed from cell phone? All I want is to have a control from my cell phone when to allow the kids to access internet or to limit their game time. Such as if I can set a certain time limit for the specific game.
Yes you have an app to control the device on your phone. You cannot set a time limit for a certain game on Xbox but you can set a time limit for the Xbox.
