The Square Reader Generation 2 has one big improvement on all previous Square readers…USB-C! With everything nowadays using USB-C ports for charging, it is wonderful to only have to carry one wire for both your phone and Square Reader Generation 2. If you are a small business owner that takes payments on the go, definitely look for the Generation 2 version of the reader. Pairing with the Square app on Android is extremely simple and allows you to accept chip cards and tap to pay methods. Both work flawlessly while at a craft festival. Not one time did the reader fail to accept a payment through a few hundred transactions. For 8 hours of selling at the festival, the battery didn’t even move an inch. This is wonderful for doing weekend shows. Given the reasonable rates Square charges for each transaction, plus the ease of using the reader to charge cards, there is no excuse to require your customers to only pay with cash anymore. Using this reader will open up your customer base to use their debit and credit cards or use Apple Pay or Google Pay.

The Bose S1 Pro Plus Wireless PA system is a work of art. Historically, using a PA system meant you were tied to a power outlet and limits your options to amplify your acoustic guitar playing. Then if you were able find the outlet, a lot of portable PA systems just don’t sound as good. With this Bose S1 Pro Plus, you get clear and accurate reproduction of the sound coming from your guitar. This system really brings the pickups on your acoustic guitar to life with no muffle or distortion. The sound quality is just something to be amazed by. In addition, battery life is great. There is no problem with lasting an entire show with this PA speaker. In addition, the S1 Pro Plus has built in EQ that allows you to adjust treble and bass. The fact that Bose added the ability to add reverb to your sound is just the icing on top. It really is an all in one package for the acoustic guitar player. The fact that there are two inputs allows you to connect a mic and guitar to this portable PA system, making it the prefect artist speaker. Oh and don’t forget there is a third line-in or Bluetooth input for you to play backing tracks while you sing and play. The S1 Pro Plus works wonderfully with a Shure SM57 Dynamic microphone. You won’t be able to use a condenser mic because there is no phantom power built in, but I don’t think you would want to use a condenser mic in a public setting anyways. All in all, where ever you will bring your acoustic guitar, more than likely this Bose S1 Pro Plus will be traveling with me too.

The HP Omen 27-inch 4k monitor is a thing of beauty when it comes to displaying what your computer throws at you. Editing graphics, no problem. Playing games at a high frame rate and resolution, no problem. Streaming videos, no problem. The many color options such as warm, gaming, night, standard, all look great depending on your needs. The monitor also as a 3.5mm audio out jack to connect some desktop speakers to the monitor to take advantage of the sound over HDMI. The monitor comes with a stand with a decent amount of adjustability to it and is also capable of being mounted on a desktop arm that supports the VESA pattern. The rear LED mood lighting system is a nice touch to help spice up any gaming rig. One thing that I noticed is that compared to another 4k monitor of similar sized, the wake-up delay is a bit longer than the other monitor I have. It does not affect the performance of the monitor; it just takes an extra second or two to be fully 100% bright. The refresh rate and response time during gaming such as Call of Duty and Fortnite is top notch. If you were interested in a 4k monitor, I would not hesitate to recommend the Omen 27-inch to anyone looking for a large crystal clear monitor.

High Performance Computer and Electronics UPS for Premium Power Protection

The APC Back-UPS Pro is a slim unit that provides ample surge protection for 8 outlets and battery backup for 4 outlets. Compared to similar powered units from other brands, this is a smaller footprint and shorter. The construction of the battery backup is top notch. It is built like a tank. The display on the front of the unit provides useful information regarding the power input, power consumption, and how much time the battery will run if the power goes out. Upon unboxing the unit, it prompts you to plug the battery in to start charging. This shows how easy it is to replace the battery down the road if the battery dies. The biggest negative about the unit is how closely spaced the outlets are to each other. Most routers, modems, and other smaller devices uses power transformers which blocks two outlets. If you are lucky enough to have lying around 3-prong extension cords, then you can utilize all the outlets. Out of the box, your devices might limit how many devices you can connect. It would be nice if APC either spaced out the outlets or provide as a bonus extension cords to accommodate wall transformers. Despite that annoyance, the battery backup does what it is supposed to do in a small inconspicuous package that is built like a tank. I have no doubt this will last a long time.

Great Value POE system that just works and clear

The Swann Master Series package is a great way of getting a reliable single-wire way of monitoring what you need to monitor. The NVR is the size of a cable box that comes with 2 TB of storage space. That should be able to record enough significant important events. The installation of the cameras to the NVR is as simple as plugging a network cable from one end to another. There is no need to find additional power supply for the cameras as this NVR provides Power over Ethernet (PoE). Coming from wireless cameras, this system has been solid signal wise and provides clear views of the outside yard during the day and night. Setup was surprisingly super easy. Since this system connects to the internet via wired connection, all you must do is plug it into your router and you are done. No Wi-Fi settings to mess around with. No worries about whether your Wi-Fi signal is strong enough. You just plug it into your router, and you are up and running. The TV interface via HDMI is super easy and that is where you will set up the system. The setup walks you through setting up a new password and naming your cameras. One annoyance is the time setup does not give you an option for Arizona, which does not observe Daylight Savings Time, so you will have to choose between Pacific or Mountain time and play with the Daylight Savings options. Another thing that I noticed was that the included cables were not full network cables. It only has 2 twisted pairs not the full 4 twisted pairs. I am not entirely sure if this will affect camera upgrades down the road but will do the job for the included cameras. The Swann app is super easy also. You just scan the QR code during setup with your app and boom you are connected to your NVR. You can easily look at your cameras live. The nice thing with this whole setup is there is no subscription costs to use the basic features of live view, looking at recorded clips, and saving your recordings from your NVR. If you are interested in cloud storage, there is a subscription fee, but if you are just interested in a contained at home system, this is all you need.

Good keyboard, but ignore the cellphone holder

The keyboard has a good weight to them but still lightweight enough to be portable. The keys have good feedback but is super quiet. The fact that you can use either the wireless dongle or bluetooth to connect to your device. Also a cool feature is that you can switch between the wireless device and bluetooth device such as a phone or tablet with the buttons on the keyboard. I have to knock one star off for the slot that is supposed to be used to hold your phone. If you have a case on your phone, forget about it. The slot was designed for use of your personal device without a case. If you like to use your phone or tablet naked, than this is fine. If you have a case on your phone or tablet, you might be disappointed. If you ignore the cellphone holder, this keyboard is pretty good. Having a full numpad plus being this small means this keyboard will probably travel everywhere with me. Its one of the nicer keyboards to use and the slim profile is great. Just don't get it for the phone holder slot.

Great cam w/features tied to a Blink Subscrition

Great small footprint camera. The image is very clear during the day and does a decent job using night vision. The ability to pan and tilt nearly 360 degrees in every direction is very nice. Its very light weight and easy to move around. The image is definitely a wide angle view so it will come off as looking through a globe. But this allows you to monitor more of the room. The one star that I am taking off is the fact that this camera seems heavily tied to a subscription service. When you first buy the camera, you are given a 30 day trial of the cloud services. After the 30 days, you are limited to live look ins and still image capture to your phone. It appears that if you want to be able to look using your desktop computer, you might need a subscription. The fear one would have is if you are looking to use the full functionality of the camera, it may be tied to a subscription model and potentially in the future lose capability if they decide to tie more features to a subscription. If you only need the ability to look into a room and communicate back and forth, this is fine. If you intend on using it for security purpose, make sure you are willing to subscribe to the Blink services. If you do subscribe, this camera is a must have in your arsenal.

What is cooler than knowing that you don't have to worry about running out of power for your headphones? These adidas solar charging headphones eliminates the need to worry about charging your headphones. If you wear these headphones outdoors, the sun will rapidly charge the headphones. If you are inside with LED lightbulbs, make sure you place the headband pointed towards the light since it will charge much slower. Sound quality is impressive and the adidas app allows you to change the sound profile of the headphones. Surprisingly the earpads are washable and the headphones are light but hefty enough to know that these are not a cheap pair of headphones. It is really unbelievable how comfortable these headphones are and the fact that charging these headphones is simply having a light source whether it be outside or inside. In fact adidas does not even include a USB-C cable. The PowerFoyle execution on these headphones should set the standard on how we should think about being untethered from the power cord.

Lot of features for the value of the dashcam

The front facing camera and the cabin cameras work amazing on this dashcam. It is loaded with features and everything you need to get started. Installed this on a SUV and there is plenty of wire to go from the main unit to the back of the SUV. The one annoying thing is that the connectors are Mini-USB and they are straight in connectors instead of right angle connectors. This increases the footprint on the windshield. The other thing that is finicky is that the connection to the back camera can be very sensitive. If you plug it in and it works, leave it alone. Touching the connector makes the rear camera get disconnected. Also this dashcam really appears to be designed to be installed low on your windshield. I installed it behind my rear view mirror and you cannot see the LCD display at all. The fact that it comes with the ample length of wires, a SD card, GPS and can record three streams is amazing for the value of the dashcam. Re-watching recorded videos on the computer show how well this thing captures your surrounds. This is basically an amazing value for an all in one dashcam solution for the front and rear.

One of the best stabilizers I have ever used

As a stabilizer, this thing rocks. Videos come out very stable and the stabilizer does a good job accounting for your movements. It folds down very small and comes with a magnetic phone gripper and legs and storage bag. If you are lucky to have a phone that you can put the phone grip on in the middle of the phone and have a perfectly balanced phone in the stabilizer, you will have no problems. If you are unfortunate to have a phone where if you put the phone grip in the middle of the phone in a balanced position, you might have the phone grip constantly putting pressure on the volume button or power button. Luckily, the gripper opens up big enough that it can be placed over my Google Pixel 7 Pro in a Spigen Tough Armor case and avoids pressing the volume down button. Instructions are very lacking in the box and will take time to fumble around to figure out how to use it. The DJI app is not in the Google Play store thanks to embargos, so you have to manually download and install it yourself. Once you have the app installed and paired with the stabilizer, the app walks you through the entire feature set. Overall, if you can get your phone onto this stabilizer without any buttons being pushed, you will be very happy with the performance of this stabilizer. Of all the knockoff stabilizers I have tried, DJI really did an amazing job and is well worth the price if you need stable videos.
