Nice for very minimal needs
on July 27, 2016

I'm writing this review FROM this very product!
Overall, my impressions with the device is that it's pretty decent for people who basically just need a web browser (which, most people probably do only need a web browser). It's not super fast but it gets the job done for checking emails, writing some documents (with Google Docs) or watching some YouTube or Netflix. If you aren't a fan of Google's services, this may not be the product for you as you'll be required to use one when you turn it on for the first time. If you use 1Password or another password manager, it's a little more inconvenient to log into your device as you can't give yourself a weaker password just for unlocking the laptop. I just keep mine unlocked. 1Password is also not available as an "app" so you'll have to switch to one of their web based solutions to have access to your passwords.
The hardware feels a lot nicer than I expected. It's plastic but it feels well put together and sturdy. My biggest complaint is that the screen is pretty small but it LOOKS even smaller because of the full inch plus of bezel on each side. It was the first thing I noticed when I turned the device on is how insane the amount of black space was around the screen. Keyboard actually feels really nice for such a small device! It feels like a full sized keyboard (and it very well might be). I'm having zero issues typing this review when my everyday, normal laptop is a MacBook Pro. The speakers are also pretty loud and sound decent.
Overall, I like this as a quick and easy web browser when I don't want to use my larger MacBook Pro. Simple things like browsing the web, checking Facebook/Twitter/email, watching YouTube or Netflix are quite easy but if you want to do a lot more with your laptop, you may need either another device or something different.

Super comfortable and great sounding
on June 10, 2016

* Comfort/Fit: I have always had a problem with in-ear headphones. Most of them hurt my ears either immediately or eventually. Apple's EarPods are the only headphones that I've been able to religiously use without comfort problems. These SoundSport headphones changed all of that! They fit in my ears perfectly right away and felt fantastic. They come with 3 different sized ear pieces that are really easy to remove and replace. I tried the smaller ones and felt like the headphones would fall out of my ears. The middle felt just right. I didn't try the largest one.
I went to the gym every day for about 10 days with these. These are called SoundSport so I'm sure they're made to withstand sporty type activities. I didn't get to play any actual sports in them but I did plenty at the gym. Weight lifting. Kettle bells. Elliptical. Biking. Running. Every day for at least an hour and never had any issues with these headphones even feeling like they might slip out of my ears. I honestly forgot they were in by the end of most of my workouts.
* Sound Quality: I'm sure the bar was set pretty low since most of my headphone experience has come from Apple EarPods, but I could definitely hear a difference right away. There was bass that never existed in my old headphones. Things sounded clear and great. I'm no super audiophile or anything (definitely wasn't listening to lossless music with them or anything), but I'm sure these are pretty top notch sounding headphones at their price point. I listened to mostly podcasts but threw on some music from time to time just to get a good feeling for how they sounded. I didn't test the microphone on a phone call or anything.
* Connection: Connecting to my iPhone was painless. Instructions are included if you need them and as soon as I connected, I was prompted to download a companion app. The app's features were pretty limited but it did allow me to rename my headphones, which I thought was a nice touch. There was also a place to pair other devices but I didn't do this. I assume it's pretty simple. The power button is in a nice place to easily press while the headphones are in your ear. You are greeted with a voice that tells you your battery percentage as well as the name of the device you're connected with. This little detail was very nice to me. It reminded me about how long until I had to charge the battery and I imagine the device name is great when you have a couple devices connected to the same headphones.
* Battery: After my first full charge, I was able to go 8 days at the gym before the headphones died completely. Each day at the gym was about 1-1.5 hours. So Bose's own 6 hour battery claim was even lower than what I experienced. It would probably average out if I did a more scientific test. Bottom line, the battery life was great for such a small device. The audible battery meter when turning them on helped me remember to charge them.
* Storage: A small-ish, round case with a zipper kept the headphones safe when not in use. I didn't really take the case out with me (I just wore the headphones clipped to my shirt on the way to the gym) but the case was nice to keep them while they weren't being used. Nothing super special here. Just a case.
* Conclusion: Overall, these are great headphones and I'll be using them at the gym every day for a long time. I really can't say much else.

Not terrible depending on your needs

I, personally, wasn't incredibly pleased with this tablet. I'll preface my review by stating this tablet was my first experience with an Android tablet and have almost exclusive experience with iOS (Apple) devices.
Initial setup was relatively straight forward, but there were a couple of bloatware type of options that I didn't choose to participate in. I feel like things could have been more streamlined and less about logging in to a bunch of services and signing up for a bunch of things you probably don't need.
After setup, I made sure to log in to the services that were integrated like Facebook, Twitter and Google. Integration was nice for sharing and using the extra Acer dashboard that was on the left most page. This page was just populated with all of your social network stuff so tweets, facebook posts and youtube videos. You could customize this with which services you wanted displayed too.
I browsed around the app store and installed a couple of apps that I use a lot. I was happy to see 1Password available. All of the basics were there. I installed Hearthstone to see how well it ran. Running it for the first time gave me a warning that this device's specs were lower than those that were recommended but the game still ran. I played a couple of games and although the framerate definitely dropped plenty of times, it wasn't unplayable. I'd say if you're looking to play more intensive games, you may want to go for a device with some higher specs. I imagine Minecraft might run OK but I wasn't able to test it.
The hardware feels decent. The size is all right to me. I prefer a little larger just for the screen real estate but this is all just up to your preference. Sadly, my device came with a dead pixel right in the middle of the screen. It's very noticeable on black and red screens, but you have to look for it most of the time. Screen resolution didn't look too bad.
Overall, I think I would only recommend this device for people who minimal needs. If you just want a device for light web browsing, email, facebook and some very casual games, you'll probably be fine with this device. Maybe as a device for kids to play some light games with. If you're looking to do actual work or play games with a lot more intense requirements, you'll probably have a bad time.

Prevent dead zones around your home with the help of this Linksys Wi-Fi range extender. It works with all types of Wi-Fi routers, and it uses multi-user MIMO for speed and efficiency. This Linksys Wi-Fi range extender can be used to create a different access point or to extend the field of the router’s connection.

It definitely improved my signal
on May 16, 2016

My apartment isn't super large, but the way we have our internet setup, the modem and router are placed about as far to one end of the apartment as possible. I don't have a lot signal issues, but when you get to the opposite corner, things do start to degrade a little bit. Even on 2.4Ghz, so 5Ghz is pretty bleak. I installed this guy at about the midway point in our apartment and went over to the corner with my phone and did a speed test at full speed of our internet!
Let's talk about setup. It was very quick and painless. There are 2 ways you can connect this guy to your network. It can either connect via wifi or Ethernet. I didn't do the Ethernet setup because I didn't have an extra Ethernet cable in a location that would have benefitted from a signal boost, but the wifi setup was very easy. The small QuickStart guide details everything pretty well. Considering how easy it was to connect to wifi, I can only imagine it being even easier to connect via Ethernet if this is the route you're choosing. One of my favorite parts of the setup process was a little meter that showed you if the wireless extender was in a good location get full speed. After the initial setup, you can plug it in anywhere and then check that little gauge on the setup page and see if you're still in a good location.
I've had the extender installed for 3 days now and I'll be honest, I haven't noticed it. I think that's a good thing, though. It's connecting to a linksys router that supports their seamless roaming which means that it hops from the router to the extender without you having any knowledge of the jump. So the fact that I haven't noticed any strangities or anything is, to me, great. You can also setup the extender with any other router (that doesn't support seamless roaming) and give the extender a different SSID, so you can just connect to it separately and have your device pick which hotspot to connect to based on your location.
Overall, my apartment doesn't really NEED this extender, but I'm happy with how it's working out at the moment. I don't think the boost is incredibly powerful (it did increase my signal in that corner of my apartment, but I didn't see a HUGE jump in strength) so if you're in a very large place, you may need either more than one of these or you may need to reconsider your overall router placement.

Your household is busy streaming media, working online, and playing games every day. This Linksys Wi-Fi Router will expand your network coverage, send signals directly to your devices, and deliver a lag-free connection, even when you’re all online at the same time.

This bad boy FEELS like a machine!

The first thing you'll probably notice about this router is it's size. It's not small. And it doesn't feel flimsy. It's heavy and feels very well constructed. The first thing my girlfriend said when I took it out of the box was that it looked like a spider (which, flipping it over, it definitely does). Overall, I've used a lot of routers that are usually very light and they after you plug a few cables in the back, they don't sit still. The heft on this router is very nice and the rubber feet keep it sitting still. Still something to consider when buying is if you have space to let this guy breath.
This is my first 802.11AC router. I don't have many devices that can connect to it yet, but I was able to run a few tests from my iPhone and was blown away. This replaced an ASUS 802.11N router that was no slouch but after connecting to this router wirelessly and connecting to an iperf server that was wired straight to the router, my speed tests went from about 90-100Mb/s to 350-400Mb/s. Obviously, those are local network speeds so you'll need the internet access to be able to take advantage of those speeds when connecting outside of your home. My internet is currently 110Mb/s so I was still able to max it out on my old router.
Range seemed very comparable to my old N router. I walked around my apartment with my MacBook and watched the signal strength and quality fluctuate. There was probably a slight boost with this router but it wasn't anything to write home about. That said, I never had any huge range problems to begin with so saying that it's only slightly better than what was already pretty great is an accomplishment. I also have the WiFi extender that's supposed to pair with this router to offer seemless roaming so I'll be posting a review of that when I get it connected and have a chance to test it out on the corners of my apartment where the signal dips a little bit.
The software! I've used Linksys/Cisco routers in the past and the software always seemed like it stayed the same was it was in about 1999. The new software has fancy transitions and just looks overall nicer. I could probably do with a few less of the bells and whistles for a slight speed bump in some loading tasks but overall, I'm happy with it. A couple of things I'm not super fond of in the software is a lack of a bandwidth monitor to see where your bandwidth is going and they want you to sign up for a Linksys account and log in through their site. Apparently it gives you access to your router from away from home if you're in to that kind of thing but I skipped that step (which they did let me do, so it's not that big of a deal). After digging through the various options, the software does feel a little more watered down that I would like. It's powerful enough to do most things but if you're coming from a modified firmware like Tomato or ASUS Merlin, you might be left craving some more tweakable options.
Overall, I'm quite happy with the day or so that I got to play around with this router and will be holding out hope that some extra features get added to the software like a bandwidth meter and some more advanced settings.

Enjoy a smooth gaming experience with this 27-inch ASUS Full HD monitor. The Shadow Boost feature increases clarity in dark scenes, and the ultrafast response times minimize blurring and streaking for seamless gameplay. This ASUS Full HD monitor has an ergonomic design that allows tilting, swiveling and pivoting as needed.

Is the monitor free sync or g-sync?

It's G-Sync. The actual model number (not sure why it's not in the product title) is VG279QR if you want to check all the specs on Asus.

You can connect to your phone's bluetooth to play music through the board. The speaker does not have a lot of bass to it so it just sound alright.

Does this board have settings for beginners etc like other boards from this company?

It has Beginner, Intermediate and Expert settings which I assume are the same ones available from other Hover-1 boards while using the same app.

eufy Security Wired 2K Video Doorbell. 2K Resolution, 5-Day Continuous Video Recording (CVR) on Secure Local Storage, No Monthly Fees, Human Detection, 2-way Audio, and Free Wireless Chime included.

Can you use an existing traditional doorbell chime with this, or do you have to use the eufy door chime?

I haven't tried to use my existing chime. The instructions do say that the doorbell will probably function but might work sporadically unless you bridge your current chime to give extra power to the doorbell. This disables your current chime so, I would say, officially, you should use the eufy chime if you want your doorbell cam to work reliably..

Expand connectivity on your Apple MacBook Pro or Air with this gray HyperDrive DUO seven-in-two USB Type-C hub. Two USB Type-C ports support Power Delivery for charging mobile devices rapidly, while the HDMI output lets you connect a UHD display. This HyperDrive DUO seven-in-two USB Type-C hub has USB Type-A ports and microSD and SD card slots for fast data transfer.

will this work if my MacBook Pro has a Kuzy case on it. The case wraps around the side of the computer right where the hyperdrive will go. Im wondering if the case will prevent the hyper drive from fitting flush or snug to the computer.

It's possible this could fit fine. The included magnetic support grip leaves a bit of a gap if you don't use it so you might be able to use this without that magnetic support and have it fit just fine. Don't quote me on this, though, I just know there's definitely a gap if you don't include the black magnetic support.

Is this Hyperdrive compatible with a (mid) 2015 macbook pro?

I'm pretty sure the 2016 MacBook Pro was the first one to move to all USB-C. To use this device, you need a MacBook that has 2 USB-C ports on the left side. If your device doesn't have USB-C this won't work. If your device has a MagSafe charger, this wouldn't be supported. USB-C only.

Safeguard your home with this Arlo security camera system. Its 4K resolution provides maximum clarity so you don't miss a single detail, and a siren is integrated so you can fend off intruders either remotely or while at home. This Arlo security camera system is weather-resistant, so it's functional rain or shine.

Can you pair Arlo pro 2 cameras with this system as well? We have 2 arlo pro 2 cameras we would like to utilize on the new system if possible.

Yes. The Ultra camera doesn't pair with the old hub but the old cameras will pair with the new one. The upgrade process was quite simple.

Always know what’s happening at your door with the SimpliSafe Video Doorbell Pro. Its crystal-clear 1080p HD video and 162° field of view give you a clear shot of your property 24/7. Two-way audio lets you hear and speak to unwanted guests (and welcomed ones too) - even when you're not home. Have the SimpliSafe App? The Video Doorbell Pro will send instant alerts whenever someone approaches. And with Smart Person Detection, it can tell the difference between people, vehicles and animals. That means you only get the alerts that matter. Plus, when backed by 24/7 professional monitoring, you’ll have experts who are ready to request emergency dispatch when you need it most. This camera is designed for all weather extremes—so you're still protected in rain and snow. (Compatible with the SimpliSafe Gen 3 security system. Requires Wi-Fi (2.4GHz) and existing wired doorbell setup with mechanical chime and a transformer with 8-24 VAC, 30VA max. Not compatible with digital chimes.)

Does this doorbell allow storage to the local network instead of a cloud server?

This doorbell does not currently allow local network storage. The app functionality is quite bare bones and you actually get zero recording capability unless you upgrade to their $5/mo plan for the camera.

Are there any other means to charge these earphones than the advertised charging case?

The case that comes with these headphones is just for storage. I do leave my headphones inside the case while I'm charging them, but it's just a standard micro USB cable that plugs in to one of the earbuds to charge.
