We were looking mostly for a way to allow my wife to listen to her television after everyone else had gone to bed. These are almost overkill for that use. We unboxed them and got all the parts and cables laid out. Probably the biggest decision was which way to hook them into our system. For the TV in the bedroom, the decision was easy and used the aux in for connection. However, once we realized the true capabilities of these headphones we decided to try them on our main TV and connected them using the HDMI (ARC) input which allows the sound to be processed through both the TV and headphones. Wow, what a difference. These really portray an excellent sound stage and surround environment. When watching a chase scene like in one of the "Bourne" movies, these headphones shine and put you at the center of the action. I have a pretty good surround setup but these headphones excelled at making me part of the movie. Although plastic in design, they seem well made and weren't too heavy to cause issues after a two hour movie. Sound for music is good, but obviously higher-end headphones will beat them. The connection/recharging stand is a little light and we had some issues with it initially falling over, but after relocating them to a more stable location we had no further issues. If you are looking for some good headphones to put you into the movie without having to disturb the entire family or limited by your funds for a "Super" surround system, these should be on your short list!

Really Good Gym Headphones

Sony has jumped on the wireless headphone bandwagon with two different levels of wireless headphones, the 900s and these, the 700s. I have not tried the 900s so I am not privy to the difference between the two. The 700s come in a really small box with the charging case, a micro USB cable and several small manuals. I got them out of the plastic holder and tried to get them into their case which initially was a geometry lesson. I could not figure out how to get them into that case! They have a little "wing" that helps to stabilize them when in your ear and doesn't help when trying to get them into the case... Anyway, once I was able to get them in, they both lit up red for charging and I used the micro USB to charge the case. It initially took about 2 hours for the case to be fully charged out of the box. I then downloaded the Sony Headphones app to make sure everything was updated and controlled properly. The app allows different equalizer settings and to set other parameters with the 700s. I set it to off and paired the 700s with my phone. The phone paired easily and it downloaded a quick update. I got the 700s oriented properly for each ear (they are marked) and followed the guide on how to use them. Unlike other in-ears, these require you to put the in horizontally then twist them down to "seat" them in your ear. A little different, but it did work. As I went through some of my favorite songs, I was noticing a severe lack of bass in any song. I tried to readjust them, and used the app to try and bump the bass up, but to no avail. Knowing that a good seal is a must with in-ear headphones to get any bass, I found the larger earpieces in the accessories bag and replaced the ones that came on the 700s with larger ones, and boom... the bass was there! And I mean really there, to the point of now I'm trying to back it off a little. After several minutes of fiddling with the equalizer I was able to get a good, robust and clear sound from the 700s. These are not studio quality sounding headphones, just as the built in noise reduction capabilities are not to the level of higher end headphones are capable of, but they are great for the gym or short travel listening situations. Speaking of the noise cancelling, they block some sound just by their physical make-up, but do have 3 modes they can be in; noise canceling on, ambient sound on, and off. As I said, they block a lot of sound just by themselves, but with the noise cancelling on it does help some. Ambient noise mode just amplifies in your surroundings and off is... off. They seem pretty sturdy and aren't too bulky as some other wireless headphone types are. The charging case door seems rather flimsy but time will tell if this becomes an issue. These are good overall in ear wireless headphones, and work well in gym and short duration listening situations. If you like these type of headphones I tell you these are great. If you are looking for 12 hour flight noise cancelling or studio quality sound headphones you need to look elsewhere. Good Shopping!

Very Good Wired Headphones

These were very surprisingly good headphones! I have another brand that were my "go to" headphones when I wanted to really get into the sound and knew Bluetooth headphones just couldn't get there. I also have some Sony V7s and these headphones will replace them both. Very defined and smooth. The high end is nearly too high but does allow for a better soundstage. The bass is strong but well defined. Headphones and high end audio equipment is extremely subjective, so if you are just listening to background music or listening for gaming, these are overkill. But if you are looking to immerse yourself and appreciate being able to hear nuances and definition in your music, for the price you will not be disappointed. Good Shopping!

Really Good, Really Small Speaker

I needed a small Bluetooth speaker to take on trips with me to enhance my laptop's abilities and an older speaker I have is just too heavy. So I got this Sony to try and see if it would fit the bill. The flashing "party" lights didn't do anything for me, but might be relevant if you are purchasing this for that purpose or for a younger crowd. The speaker arrived in it's typical Sony branded box, well packaged and with a USB cable. The quick start guide is pretty straightforward and a bit lean as it uses diagrams to tell the story on set-up. The construction is metal mesh over the majority of the body with a rubberized controls area. Bluetooth set-up was really easy and I had no issues getting it synced to both my cellphone and laptop. It also has NFC connection were you to want to go that route. Sony has an app that can be downloaded to assist in settings, but I was able to get most things going without it. By default, the bass boost (Extra Bass) and the party lights are enabled. I left the bass on but quickly found how to disable the lights (flashing white lights that pulse with the music you listen to, in case you are wondering). The sound was pretty impressive for this size speaker with the bass engaged. As I was primarily using it for presentations I was concerned whether it would be able to fill the room with sound. It did an excellent job, much better than the laptop alone. Good clear tones and clear dialog. I didn't push the battery life to the extremes, but it remained connected to either my laptop or phone throughout the day and never gave out (around 6 to 8 hours). It has some other capabilities that I did not try, such as "party chain" where you can link several speakers together and "Live" sound that uses DSP to simulate widening your sound field (I found it to be annoying for my purpose and left it off). It is also rated IP67 so it's waterproof, dustproof and able withstand some shock. I don't plan on throwing it around or blasting it with water but it is nice to know that it can withstand the rough and tumble of luggage in the airport! If you need a small Bluetooth speaker for travelling, out in the country, for your younger crowd that tends to be rough on things, this might well be the speaker to buy. It is well constructed, waterproof and sounds really good for a speaker of it's size. Now, if I can just start listening to disco with these party lights...! Good Shopping!

Maybe The Best Party Speaker!

I have been through my share of Bluetooth portable speakers but this might be the best one yet. I do really like my other "brands" and some have strengths in other areas, but as an all-around waterproof, cool-looking and party-inducing speaker, this is the one! It comes well protected with a power cord (proprietary unfortunately) and several multi-language guides. Most of these are simplistic pictures showing operations. The speaker itself is a kind of textured rubberized screen material with the control area the requisite rubber covering. On top you have the Power/Bluetooth button, Live button, volume up/down and play/pause/call button. They all work as described with the "Live" button enhancing the surround/DSP effect. On the rear covered with a waterproof door are the connections for power, mini USB Out, Audio In and USB connection. There is also a reset button and buttons for NFC, Bluetooth Add and Light Control. The speaker has a little heft to it and is approximately a foot long. It has excellent sound with good highs/mids and believe it or not, decent bass! (Missing on most Bluetooth speakers). It has extra bass capability if you want some more, but in neutral it sounded good. Sony also has the apps Music Center/Fiestable that can be used to control the speaker, change settings and change the LED lights that surround the face of the speaker and flashing lights on the speaker drivers. You can also control the "sounds" the speaker makes when you tap it at certain points. You can have snare drums, cymbals, whizzers, and many other sounds to enhance your party when tapping along with your favorite songs. The calls part of the speaker work well enough, but obviously aren't up to par with a good Bluetooth headset. Haven't really tested the waterproofing or it's toughness, but it seems put together well or better than other "rugged" speakers. Sony has a winner here, so if you are looking for a good outside party speaker that is plenty loud, has some neat lighting and sound effects and has a long lasting battery this is the one! Stop looking and buy this speaker. Good Shopping!

Good Overall Sony product

The Sony WH-CH700s arrived in their standard Sony box without much fanfare. I immediately noticed there was no carrying case or bag with these, which, for the price, was a little disappointing. It comes with a line-in cord and a rather short USB charging cable. The headphones are all black, mostly plastic but were rather lightweight and the earpads are really soft. As soon as they are turned on they go into pairing mode and they linked to my cellphone quickly. The controls are on both earcups, with power and a Noise Cancelling button on one side and volume, charging port and a rocker for rewind, enter/pause/answer and fast forward on the other. They are really basic buttons that function well, but not as nice as some more "expensive" models with touch controls. The noise reduction seemed to work well, but not as well as some other well known brands. These did not (which is a good thing) cause the noise reduction "pressure" that other brands exhibit with their noise reduction. The sound was really pretty impressive for this level of headphones with pronounced highs and a really clear midrange. Bass heads are going to be okay but not overly impressed with these. A huge strongpoint for these headphones is the battery life! These things go on forever before needing a charge! Although I am not sure if the noise cancelling is up to air travel in a loud plane, they are guaranteed to last the entire flight. With good overall sound and lightweight, last all day performance, I would recommend these to first time noise cancelling headphone buyers. A couple of misses here and there take away from their overall impressiveness but they are still great headphones that should be considered if looking for the noise cancelling type. Good Shopping!

I know a lot of reviews tend to skew toward the positive, but folks when I say this Sonicare toothbrush is a must buy, I mean it! It comes with all you need to charge and operate this little jewel. The charging stand is about the size of a half dollar and the toothbrush just stands on it to charge. The toothbrush itself as several modes for whitening, cleaning and others and also has "pause" built in so you know it's time to move to a different section of your mouth. The brush head is equipped with an RFID chip to identify if it is the right brush for that model, what it's goal is, if you're brushing too hard and to tell you it's time to get a new one. Exchanging the brush heads is really simple, just a quick pull or push. But the most important part, does it clean well? Absolutely! In fact, I think my teeth are actually cleaner than when I leave my Dentist's office. This thing vibrates at speeds I could not replicate if I wanted to. It gets rid of all plaque and debris quickly and leaves a good clean feeling. A new user might need to start out a little slow to get used to the vibration, and never take the brush out of your mouth when it's running; it makes a mess quickly if you do. By far the best toothbrush I have ever owned and well worth it's price! Good Shopping!

Top Of the Heap, Close to the Best

As the owner of several types of headphones (because I really like them) I can compare these to several wireless headphones that I currently own. First, the unboxing. These come in a really sturdy box and enclosed in an extremely well made hard case with soft material exterior. Inside the case is a soft foam that really shields the headphones from damage. The HD-1s are also inside a nice little bag also. Inside the case are the charging cords, audio cable, airline adapter and quick start manual. The charging cord is just that, the cord. You will need a USB charger to charge the HD-1s. Next are the headphones themselves. I have the black ones that seem relatively sturdy. The headband is a pliable leather material with just a little give where they touch your head. The stitching is yellow on the top. The earcups are a very soft leather with foam inside that do not squeeze or put too much pressure on your head. My ears fit within the cups well and I could wear these for extended periods. The sliders to adjust the height of the earcups are made from stainless steel and give a retro look to the HD-1s, but the microphones on the front of both tell a different story. The only branding is Sennheiser on one side and HD1 on the other. So lastly, the operation. The HD-1s paired easily with my Samsung S-8+, and the quick start guide has a QRC symbol that takes you to the Sennheiser site where you can download their "app". The functionality of this is more of a player/streamer and equalizer. It does not allow for updates or to enable other features of the headphones. This was a little disappointing for a product at this price point and in comparison with other comparably priced headphones. The noise reduction worked well but not quite as well as some "QC" type headphones. The sound is, for wireless headphones" outstanding. Where my "QC" headphones sounded brighter with enhanced treble, these had a much better low end and were well balanced. Using the cord as opposed to wireless mode gave no discernable difference to me. So, are these good headphones: Absolutely! Are they good noise reduction headphones: Reasonably. Are they as good as other comparable headphones in the same price range: I believe the lack of updates or a more robust app for configuring takes away from their overall value. As far as sound, top of the heap, but only close to the top in overall utilization. Good Shopping!

Excellent Product!

I have read lots of reviews and opinions on this Garmin Speak device and decided to see if this item was really good or bad. My car already has built in navigation so I wasn't necessarily looking for that capability but having Amazon Echo (Alexa) access in my car was intriguing. I made the order and received a pretty small box in the mail. I thought it would be at least Echo Dot sized, but I was wrong. This thing is SMALL. It comes with the power cord, installation items and quick start guide. I downloaded the Garmin app and powered it up. It should be noted that you need to have a good installation plan because wherever you originally place it is where it's going to stay. No put up and relocate later here, it's semi-permanent. I placed the Speak right below the rearview mirror and routing the power cable was a little tedious but I managed it. .Back to the app. It installed no issues and it found the speak right away. I got everything set up and linked it to my Amazon account. Alexa functioned just as a full sized Echo or Echo Dot would. This was just excellent having Alexa access in my car! Now I get the weather and my flash briefing while I'm on my way to work instead of waiting and listening to it at home before going to work. Now, on to the navigation side. You can use the app or you can voice control it. You have to activate Alexa first, by asking something like, "Alexa, tell Garmin to give me directions to....". That initially seemed like an unnecessary step, but in practice really didn't bother me that much. I had paired the Speak with my car's Bluetooth so all directions and other information came right over my car's speakers. You can use it stand-alone with the little speaker in the Speak but I highly recommend using Bluetooth if you can. The navigation was pretty spot on, and there is a smallish display on the Speak that gives basic info and can give minor lane guidance. It just seemed to work well for me. I know others have found issues with the Speak and specifically the Nav side but I had no issues with any of it's functions. The mere fact that I now have Alexa in my car is astounding! I have heard of others who worked a solution to have an Echo Dot in their vehicle, but this device literally kills two birds with one stone. The Navigation side was really good but the Echo implementation to me was excellent. Especially if you have a vehicle with no built in navigation system. It's so small you'll hardly no it is there. Good cameras, needs more accessories

The Arlo Pro 2 camera system is a good all-around security camera system that was easy to set up and use. The box arrived and was well packed. The quick start guide enabled me to set the system up quickly with a minimal of frustration. The base logged into the internet without issue and cameras synced quickly with the base. I downloaded the app and set up an account to utilize the cloud based recording. There are options you can pick giving more recording times and lengths of retention based on how much you are willing to pay. I stayed with the basic plan. I moved on to setting the cameras up which was where I started encountering some issues. The cameras are truly wireless but in this mode they have limited functionality. They record, motion activate and have IR capabilities, but other functions like zoning the motion activation, times and others tasks require the cameras to be plugged in. The system also does not have a "separate" battery charger; the batteries have to be charged in the camera by taking the camera down and plugging them in. For the price, I would have hoped those accessories would have been supplied. You can buy them separately, but again, I think they should have been supplied with the system. I got the cameras set up and got a strong signal and good picture from both. The motion activation works well and it's sensitivity is set through the app. IR for night also gave good and useful pictures, such as the stray cat that likes to sleep on my porch that I was unaware of... The cameras are not wifi based so your base location is somewhat important relative to where you place the cameras. Your router's location is not important. The app worked well and controlled the cameras well. All in all, this is a very good security camera system that I believe that most people will be satisfied with. The base even has an siren if the cameras sense motion (found by accident by the way..) Had all the accessories needed for all types of setup been included it would have been excellent. Just be aware of where you want to use them and know what additional costs you will incur to enable that functionality. Good Shopping!
