Bowie's Best Instrumentals

This collection is a superb insight to yet another of Bowie's talents ........composing and performing instrumentals. The emphasis is on the Low/Heroes period , but the overlooked Buddah of Suburbia album is represented here, and a grand collection it is! My old CD had seen too many plays, so this was a replacement, again a testimonial to the listenability of this disc. For someone in the mood for some deep, "ambient" music, you'd be hard pressed to top this package. Sound quality is top notch and in a couple tracks the remix has added depth. Another great collection from the master of art rock..........highly recommended!

While checking out some old LP's, I ran across a title I'd not revisited for far too long.........This King Crimsom masterpiece has a beautiful presentation here in this 2009 CD/DVD release (which coincided with the album's 40th anniversary!) Fans old and new will be VERY pleased with this set; the updating is stunning and the bonus tracks are well worth a listen or ten. The DVD provides a nice backdrop to the spectacular music that was this original lineup of the brooding King Crimson! Tho the starting lineup of King Crimson was short lived it's power and intensity is undeniable..........as this package provides ample proof of! Love art rock at its finest? GET THIS SET!

Sometimes it seems the soundtrack bests the movie while other times, the opposite holds true............this is one of those occasions where they complement each other perfectly in size and scope. This CD holds up well for those who don't even know the film! The intensity of the tracks found herein could be enjoyed by fans of genre music, add a killer single from Mr David Bowie............Putting Out Fire (With Gasoline), and folks you got one killer CD! A must have for soundtrack purists............highly recommended!

I saw this at the theatre over 30(!) years ago and while I enjoyed it then, like a fine wine, time has made this one even more enjoyable! A strong departure from the fantastic 40's version, this is much deeper and darker, with a cast that won't quit.....couple that with scenes worthy of any art house classic, spot on directing and a killer soundtrack, this film ROCKS!!! The Blu ray treatment and supplemental material just add to the package..............if you've not seen this thriller, or a repeat visitor, Cat People is a great picture, be warned, it's not NOT for the kiddos!

Our home phone system had seen too many hours and mishaps, so at replacement time, we looked to Best buy for a new setup...............this met and exceeded our needs. Very easy to install and use thanks to a detailed manual , powerful enough to use in house and outside, a user friendly large scale faceplate on the phones, well built, small "footprint" phone charger bases, AT&T quality throughout, all in a packaging that would make Houdini scratch his head (incredible that they could get all this equipment into its box, securely!), and you've got a keeper here for sure. We're NOT tech savvy by any stretch, so if this type of thing intimidates you, fear not, the whole package is a novice's dream! Highly recommended on all accounts.

You know you're getting old when you consider most of today's music garbage, you know you were BORN AT THE RIGHT TIME when bands such as Queen ruled the airways! I fall solidly into both these camps, and this package from Hollywood Records surely restates my stand. Any Queen fan will be more than pleased with standards we all know and love, as well as some lesser known tracks thrown in for good measure. For those not so familiar, this is a good boarding point into the world of art rock at its finest. Fifty-one tunes, (count 'em 51!), nice packaging with an informative booklet and heavy CD boxes, this set would be a bargain at twice the price, and an absolute steal here. I can't say enough about this except....GET IT!

Following the passing of the iconic David Bowie, I found there was a film missing from my Bowie collection; this happens to be the it, and what a great find it is! Directed by Christopher Nolan, starring Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, Michael Caine, Scarlett Johansson and Bowie.........just this line up says must see! The story involves two rival magicians and a very tangled web of deceit, illusion, and showmanship building up to a must see conclusion. The adders are all great too, giving some insight into this powerful production. I'd overlooked this for nearly ten years.........DON'T make the same mistake, see this now for the first or tenth time, you won't be sorry!

This charger has a couple features (and yes it is well built) that really sold me: first is the secondary USB port at the plug allowing use of a second USB cable, and it has a loooong cord which is extra handy for reaching front and rear seats, if the need arises. Most chargers (especially OEM) are long on price and short on features, this Insignia unit meets the value price AND feature issues with ease.

can i be on the phone while using the internet
I'd say that if you have a standard installation dedicated system, yes you can operate both simultaneously. In the past, some systems only allowed operating either/or, but today's majority of setups support both at once as internet and phone lines are dedicated to their own service.

Does the LCD screen light up?
I notice that they have backlit buttons, but I don't see the screens being lit up. Maybe hard to see in the dark.
Yes, the screens have backlites AND the added benefit of large letters & numbers onscreen. Very user friendly in low light situations... hope this helps.

Does it work in 220V?
NOPE! Designed for 110volts and using converters etc has never ended well for most users. Best to stick with equipment designed to fit your needs. (I assume you want to use this tv internationally, hence the 220v question,,,,,,,,be aware if this the case there are several international tv standards which may pose new problems as to regional standards which may not allow this set to operate,

how many channels will it pick up
To give a "non answer" response to your question, this set will deliver based on what you feed it........ in other words based on signal strength this tv will deliver a great picture. We have one these in a rural setting using only an outdoor antenna and even at that delivers over 30 channels perfectly. If you had this on a cable or satellite system I would see this being only limited by that input, as the tv in itself is very capable.

How is this a smart tv? No mention of apps?
No, this is NOT a smart tv. though Samsung offers a "big brother" to this set (same physical size and similar features), but equipt with SMART tv technology for only a few bucks more than this model.
