This dark and deadly release from the classic David Lynch directed mystery series Twin Peaks captures the complete series, plus the movie Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, following the story of a small town murder that reveals the disturbing undercurrents of the seemingly idyllic community.
Twin Peaks fans are in for a treat on Blu-ray. The Complete Series and Fire Walk With Me! What makes this set shine is the 90 or so minutes of deleted scenes from Fire Walk With Me. Almost everything from the Gold Box DVD Collection and Artisan DVD releases are on here. What's missing from the DVDs are: Julee Cruise's "Falling" music video, the SNL monologue and Twin Peaks skit featuring Kyle Maclachlan, and the Georgia Coffee commercials. Also missing are the Twin Peaks postcards from the Gold Box. But what's here is simply amazing. The Blu-ray lossless audio and hi-def video are second to none! And there are NEW extras or extended ones of old extras. This set is highly recommended!
I won't review the movie since many have seen it and already know about it. The main point here is the 4K remastered Blu-ray. It looks exceptional (I don't have any previous BD to compare). The lossless audio is serviceable but this is not an action movie so don't expect your speakers to get a workout. Recommended.
Sly and Ahnuld team up to try and escape from an unknown prison, after Sly's character is tricked into trapping himself there. Caviezel's villain is "cardboard" but the escape plan is intriguing and the action is entertaining. The BD is reference material: Lossless audio booms and the 1080p picture is sharp and clear. Recommended.
300: RoaE isn't as engaging as 300, but it's still a worthy entry into the 300 saga. Eva Green lights up any movie she's in. The BD is A/V demo material with lossless audio booming and 1080p video sharp and clear. Extras are worthwhile.
A great story about a girl who regrets her fight with her father right before he passed away. She and her mother move to an isolated island where she encounters three spirits. Over the course of the movie, she discovers what they are there for. It's a slow but sure (and entertaining) tale of a young girl coming to terms with regret. The Blu-ray's A/V quality is top-notch with lossless audio and 1080p video. The extra with the humble director is entertaining (he did Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade 11 years prior).
How Major Kusanagi came to join Section 9. Aramaki is young and eager, and we meet all the other players: Batou, etc. Blu-ray A/V quality is top-notch with lossless audio and 1080p video.
A lonely and introverted man globetrots halfway across the world to seek the one man who will save him (literally and figuratively). Along the way we will witness his daydreams and hopes, along with his adventures. Many critics blasted the movie and while I agree that for all the bold landscapes the movie provides, there isn't enough "oomph" in the plot. But that does not mean this movie is not enjoyable. It's whimsical on a grand scale. People can relate to Walter in some way. If anything else, this is a "message" movie that inspires us to go for it, to get what we want and not be held back by fear of the unknown. The Blu-ray disc is reference quality. The picture enhances the beautiful scenery of the various parts of foreign countries he visits (Greenland, Iceland). The sound is clear as the imaginary explosions and music take us to different locations. I wish there were more extras, but what's available is fine especially the making-of. The inspiration featurette is interesting and I only with it were much longer (it's under 4 min.).

What's great about it: The Message, the Audio/Video quality
What's not so great: not enough Oomph in the story, not enough extras
Thor 2 is a good continuation of the Marvel (Avengers) Universe, but it strays away from Earth for the most part. The audio/video quality is near-reference. The extras are plentiful and are worth your time.
The second season of Revenge begins as Emily Thorne, aware of the depth of deceit surrounding the circumstances of her father's death, vows to continue wreaking havoc in the Hamptons in the name of vengeance. The arrival of her mother complicates matters further, and shocking events shake Amanda and Jack's relationship to the core. Elsewhere, sparks fly between Daniel and Ashley, and newcomers pose a new threat to Emily and Victoria.
Season 1 was engrossing, you had to know what was going to happen. Season 2 continues this effect, while a little hokey, but that's what you have to expect with a melodramatic show like this. Video is good for DVD, audio is clear. Extras are okay. If you have S1, you probably want S2 to see where things are headed.

What's great about it: Addicting Melodrama, good DVD Quality
The fourth season of White Collar finds con man turned crime solver Neal Caffrey pulling a disappearing act after considering his uncertain future working with FBI Agent Peter Burke (Tim DeKay). However, despite the shedding of his tracking bracelet, the FBI are still eager to trace Neal's whereabouts and continue to use his talents to their benefits.
Caffery and Company are at it again! Great adventures all around. Video is good (although it would have been great on Blu-ray) and sound (5.1) is clear. Extras are okay. If you have S1-3, you definitely want S4.
