Not Bad, Getting Better

I bought a couple of these on sale because they were so much cheaper than the other brand I already have a few of and I figured with the BB name on them they had to be acceptable.
I tried to set them up using the iPhone App and it didn't work at all. It took me a little to get them to show up, then a little more to add them to the home network, and then....nothing. I couldn't add them to the app or create rooms or anything. I looked online and found that a lot of people were having trouble and I was about to return them.
But I decided to try the Android app too (they don't have a PC app which I really did not like - if they do, it's not obvious where to get it) and it went much more smoothly. A little effort, but nothing too difficult and I had them up and running and connected to Alex through the Echo.
Commands through Alexa go pretty well and I've only had a couple of times where it failed to link, but it has happened. My other brand I've never had it miss or drop.
So, they're good for the price and it looks like IOS11 jacked up the iPhone app (like a lot of other programs) so I can only partially hold that against them. Once they're set up, they work pretty well.

Good Replacement

We bought this after my son's iPhone was damaged and we had to mail it in for repair. We wanted something fairly cheap, but still able to do the basics. We went for the cheapest one at Best Buy that supported our network.
Best Buy didn't have the proper SIM for it so we had to go to the carrier, but they pulled it right up and activated it without any issues.
The phone itself is better than we expected. We wanted him to be able to text, call, take pics, post, and do basic net things, but he's actually able to stream with it with pretty good quality.
Our biggest complaint is the delay in the services themselves. When sitting next to him, I called to test the activation and there was a 2-3 second delay between speaking and hearing. We tested the same thing with the iPhones and there was no delay. Also, when we text, there is a significant delay (minutes) between transmittal and receiving. Again, we tested this by doing group texts and everyone else got the text within seconds where this phone took a couple minutes.
Still, it's not a high priced phone, it does everything he needs it to do, and it seems to do it reliably even if a little slowly. It's definitely going to remain as our backup phone.

Nice, Cheap Headphones

My son got these as a quick fill in after breaking a more expensive pair. We didn't do a lot of research so we were shopping off the cuff when we ran across these. They are one of the few wired, over the ear headphones in our Best Buy that don't cost a small fortune. They had a pair of white ones with the same part number that were $5 more, but he opted for the cheaper black pair (would've even at the same price).
When he got out of the store he put them on and tried them with his phone and he was actually impressed. He wasn't expecting excellent quality, but he got better than expected. These don't have the bass amplifier (which he hates headphones that do) or really any other specialized features, but the sound is clear and stable.
He says they're pretty comfortable and he wears them for hours on end while using the computer. Not as comfortable as the Razor pair he broke, but not uncomfortable by any means.
For the price, they're 5 stars, but for the sound quality and the comfort he gives them 4 stars. He's very happy with his purchase.

I got this case as a reward or something from Best Buy so I have to say the price was great. I expected a pretty cheap and flimsy case, but I was pleasantly surprised to see it's a fairly thick and durable see through case. I definitely underestimated the quality.
The case fits, the holes line up properly, and it protects the sides and the back of the phone very well.
My only real complaint about it is around the power plug. The case is thick (great for protection) and the hole is sized to minimize damage to the area, but thicker power adapter cables have a little trouble fitting in. It's a small complaint admittedly.

Great Wireless Charger

I bought the inclined model after already having the flat model and they are both excellent at what they do. I originally had a Mophie wireless battery case and it was pretty sensitive about where I put it in relation to the pad in order to charge correctly. I thought it had more to do with the pad than it did with the case, but I was wrong. When I upgraded to the 7 plus, I bought an adapter instead of the expensive case. The Mophie charger didn't work through my standard rubberized case with the adapter, but I put it on the Samsung charger and it works like a charm.
This charger is truly a fast charger and the convenience of wireless keeps me from doing damage by plugging and unplugging or by tripping over wires. Very nice.
My only complaint is that the inclined model (this one) does not fold for travel. It's a little bulky to put in your laptop backpack with the shape being fixed.
However, the incline is nice for seeing messages, alarms, etc while laying in bed. It's a solid and quick charger and does what I bought it to do.

Works Great, But Not Very Sturdy

The "new" PS4 controller works great and has built in recharge capabilities using a standard microUSB connector. All of that is great. The response time is great, the feel is great, and the layout is pretty good as well (once you get used to that touchpad that I probably under utilize.
However, the corners are standard plastic and they crack very easy. I'm not rough on controllers, but I have cracked the handgrips on two of these controllers. One when dropped and another when setting it down on the desk and hitting the corner of the desk with the handle grip. Both times resulted in similar breaks. I've not had that probably with the XBox One controllers so I have to think the quality is a little less in the PS4 versions.
Overall, great controller with good battery life and other features you'd expect from Sony. If I could give it 4.5 stars I would, but think replacing it twice for the same thing indicates a problem that needs something less than 5 stars.

I got the Echo for Christmas and hooked it up at my house. Hooked up all the automated/wi-fi devices I had, bought more just because they're fun and loved it.
Then I decided I wanted a nice, compact music player for my office and started to evaluate options. After reviewing and valuing based on my needs, my office, and ease I decided to get another Echo for the office. The Dot was an option, but the sound quality isn't good enough for me while the Echo is (I'm not a huge music aficionado, just like clear music) and it doesn't require me to keep an extra set of speaker or use up computer resources to stream.
I got it, hooked it up to the office wi-fi and use it every day. It gives me the weather forecast, traffic status, miscellaneous information, but most of all, streaming music.
And when the phone rings I can pause it quickly using the voice control and then resume when I'm done. That's what turned me away from the Tap.

Upgraded iPhone 6+

My wife upgraded her 6+ to the 7+ when her previous lease was up. She debated on going with the plus or the regular version because we had nothing but trouble with the 6+. All 4 of us had the 6+ and every single one of us had issues with them. From bending to the touchscreen not working reliably to extremely sensitive glass, we all had serious issues.
So far, the 7+ is a far superior phone. Other than the standard upgrades that are typical (faster processor, better screen, better camera), the important upgrades are in the hardware itself. The 7+ has a more rugged glass and is water resistant. It remains to be seen if the durability will follow through for the entire 2 years, but the upgrades are a positive from the get go.
My reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the same as for the 7 as the 7+. They made small design changes that don't seem to affect usability or serve any other purpose, but alter the physical layout just enough to make old cases not work. My wife's old case first perfectly on the new phone, but the camera was partially obscured by the cutout. So same physical dimensions (or nearly), but they moved the camera a 1/4" so now old cases are worthless. I don't understand the point, but maybe someone from the Apple design team can give a plausible reason. From an end-user point of view, it's unnecessary and just costs more money.

Sadly, A Requirement

We've learned the hard way that the monthly, or yearly, cost of this is worth the investment. It's hard to believe because when I do the math it doesn't add up, but in reality it has already paid for itself just a month into our situation.
We had a cracked screen within a month of getting the new phones with AppleCare+. I was able to take it to an Apple Store and have it replaced for $29 in a 2 hour period. Versus the $149-$199 I was quoted outside of AppleCare via other providers.
My only complaint is that you only get 2 claims for the duration of your care. I can understand the 2 claims if it's a full phone replacement (kind of, I mean it is insurance), but not for a cracked screen or other smaller issues. Still, saved me basically the cost of the AppleCare+ almost immediately.

Very Basic Case

This was bought for an iPhone 7 and is a minimalist design for a case and we knew that. That's why he chose this particular one in fact. It does that very well and provides a little protection to the back of the phone.
My only real complaint about the case is the button access. It's just not as reliable as some of the other cases in the same price range.
All that being said, it really does do what we bought it for and we didn't expect much more out of it. It's not flashy or attractive, but it does a good job of disappearing so he's happy with it. If the button access were a little bit better it'd be a 5 star case that is very affordable.

Why can’t I get “create home” to save. It says “failed to save changes.
I couldn't get it to create a home in the IOS app and ended up doing it through the Android app. I've read there are a lot of issues since IOS 11 came out and I was using an iPhone (with 11) and an iPad (with an older IOS) and never had any luck, but the Android worked quickly.
