I strongly feel that in 10 or 15 years people will look back on this game and describe it as a great game. It's gotten a lot of flak and much of it is due to issues during it's so called rushed launch. However, this game is fantastic. It takes all the best features of the previous games and some of the best features of Knights of the Old Republic and combines them into one fantastic game. The worlds you travel to are phenomenal. The music is rich and appropriate for each mission, planet, and the like. Though some of the characters are interesting, they don't feel fleshed out. The skill tree is really unique compared to previous Mass Effect games, since it doesn't matter what you start with, you can learn almost everything. This is a great game, and though it's gotten a bad rep now, I really think people's minds will change... or at least when another generation picks this up --a generation that did not play the previous trilogy. Kingdom Hearts and Zelda: Windwaker also got a lot of bad reviews and flak when they first came out and now they are essential for many gamers. I don't know if this game will make that sort of come back, but it truly is much better than people have been describing it. I actually like this one more than the first one.

Zelda: Breath of Fresh Air

Zelda: BotWI is a very long and beautiful Action/RPG. The artwork is very is in a more cartoony-anime style than previous Zelda titles, except Wind Waker, but this one is darker and more adult. Lots, of character customization except Links name... Thought that was a small thing, I felt a bit torn away from the game. I am used to being able to choose Links name. I kept restarting a few times to see if I missed something. The story line is pretty typical, but offers some very new things for a Zelda game, like sci/fi elements. I can't quit put my finger on it, but the world and character design reminded me of the Breath of Fire series.
There have been a few Zelda's with open worlds, but this is the largest and the most sandbox like. It's not on the scale of games like Morrow Wind, but it's pretty massive. Another new feature is voice acting. I was concerned when I first heard vocal audio and understood the words because most Zelda games, if there are voices, they are really just onomatopoeias.
Visuals and Sound are some of the best for Wii U. I'm not typically drawn to large open world games and part of that is that stark quit, sometimes emptiness of those worlds. While this game does have some empty seeming areas, it really adds more to the darkness this Zelda game presents and the music is, as most Zelda games, top notch.
I definitely recommend this game :)

I haven't progressed too much in this game even though I've spend over 30 hours playing it. It is a big sand box game, similar to Mind Craft, and honestly, one can spend several hours in one small part of the massive landscape and build, destroy, fight, forge, etc. Some of the goals in this game seem a little abstract too me, if they exist and that is okay. This game is large and it feels casual, now that I've dabbled in a lot of what you can do in this game, I've been playing it here and there and I feel like I've made some decent progress. This game doesn't have a story that I am aware of. It's a side scrolling do-any-thing role playing game. For example, I spent a great deal building a space station by collecting rare building minerals from deep underground. This game also bridges over some crafting and survival elements. Not having a strong story pulls me out of the game a bit, but the overall game is very fun and though there are similar games, this one does offer a lot of innovative things. This game might also turn off those who don't want to play a vintage looking game. It's all pixels and plays like a really powerful Nintendo game. The 2D might turn some people off and if you're looking for a similar game but you don't like side scrolling or older games, Mind Craft might your calling. Also, I died a lot in this game. Way more than any other. I died more in this then I have in Rogue Legacy or Demon/Dark Souls. Craft or die, I guess.
I'm really glad there is a physical copy of this game. I love having tangible copies and for awhile this was only downloadable on other gaming platforms. This game offers four players locally and eight online.
I don't know if there is a demo on the Wii U, but I sampled this little indie treat on my PS3 and at first I was overwhelmed. But when I was away from it I would catch myself thinking about the game --how far I could push or manipulate things, what are the limits and I came back. This game is worth trying and even the demo is fun. This game also really utilizes the Wii U game pad.

Tokyo Mirage: #Persona of Fire

Similar to the Zelda and Dynasty Warrior love child with the collaboration of Nintendo and Tecmo Koei comes this game, Tokyo Mirage #Sessions FE. Unlike the Zelda/Dynasty Warriors product titled Hyrule Warriors, this game takes a different approach and takes two very different (Japanese) role playing games (JRPG), one a character driven JRPG, Persona/Shin Megami Tensai and the other a strategic role playing game with turn based attacks, Fire Emblem. The outcome is truly unique. The battle system is more closer to Persona and that is probably the highlight of this game. The battles are super fun. The story might not appeal to those who prefer very dark and more realistic tones like the Watch Dogs or the Last of Us, but it will definitely peak interest in those who like anime, pop culture, social media, and wacky pseudo surreal plots and landscapes. I found there to be a good balance of goofy anime tropes and the artistry of the game world. Not too much can be said for the story, which also falls into the sorta pseudo surreal realm, similar to Persona. This game echoes parallels with Akiba’s Trip: Undead and Undressed and The World Ends With You. It's a very funky and hip game. This game captures the millennial generation to the bone in a colorful anime world. The story might be the only thing that will turn off some people, but I imagine the obvious anime cover art would to that for that audience. The story isn't really too bad, it felt accessible and not a lot of games connect Pop Singers with fighting dream demons. Everything feels very polished and I hope before the Wii U becomes a piece of memorable of the mid twenty-tens, more games like this are produced. This game really adds something the Wii U was lack, which I guess, sadly is a lot of things :(
To tidy this review up, I'd even recommend this to people who are not too into hyper anime themed games, as long as they enjoy turned based battles because that's where this game really shines. Normally grinding is a choir, but I didn't really feel that way in this game.

A Generic Review of a not so Generic Device

I recently upgraded from the very first gen of Roku devices. The old one, though it still worked almost perfectly, was lacking on some features and some apps/streaming (like vimeo and Vudu) services were no longer working. I haven't dabbled with other streaming devices except with game consoles, so I'm not super familiar with certain specs and stuff. This one is great, it has lots of apps, of course. It's very easy to use, plug and play and though the remote is simple, there are a lot of features. The only thing that is a little annoying is that on Netflix, films and shows play automatically when you click on them to read the description, the Netflix on my Wii U, PS 3 and older Roku didn't do this so it may be a feature that needs to be changed through Netflix, but how is beyond me. Anyway, fantastic hardware.

Risen 2: Dark Battle Mechanics

This action RPG doesn't offer really anything too different from other games, but it also doesn't really do anything wrong. It's your typical toughish, lady-killer hero who spends his time doing the dirty work for people standing around in-between saving the world. You level up with a skill tree, you kill monsters, you make friends, and your avatar says snarky things. If that is your cup of tea, and it is mine, then you might like this. For the price it's worth trying. One area that made this a bit hard to continue playing was the battle system, which was a bit awkward and hard to understand... maybe that was just me. It seems fairly straight forward, but it's not, it's about timing and shielding, so once you get that, get ready to be the king of very long, dragged out battles with medium level villains. Besides that, everything is fairly good. The graphics are great, mostly lush, but a bit cartoony. The leveling system is decent. And the story is interesting enough to play through.

Another Tale of Tales

Tales games, like the are like the Ar-series, e.g. Ar tonelico. For the most part I liked these games, but the stories haven't been as memorable as previous ones. However, it's not bad and it's the combat system which pulls me in. I used to compare the Tales series to the Star Ocean series, both in exploration and in combat --except Star Ocean was 3D and Tales was more beat-em-up. The two seem a bit more similar now. I'm not sure if this is good or bad. Some other review have pointed out that the camera was bad, but it hasn't turned me off yet.

Lara Croft's New Boots

This reboot is phenomenal. The developers clearly thought this one through, which you can see visually, with the textures of the environments, the soaked shirt that clings to Lara's body as rain pours down on her. And the plot, though I haven't' progressed too far seems thought and and offers an interesting glimpse on how Lara came to be the Tomb Raider. Beyond that, this game has created a more realistic and positive female protagonist. The over sexualized Lara of the 90s is no more and that's a great thing, espeacially since there are more and more women and girls that play video games. For instance, my sister would have never touched this game in the 90s and now she's feeling more enticed to try this game out. The game has also ditched much of it's previous game play mechanics, which some might miss, but this game does things well. It's more inline with games like The Last of Us, The Evil Inside, Uncharted (this is an obvious comparison), and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West... and of course it's cinematic and is a great adventure game for any Indiana Jones fans. Though, I think this game isn't to over the top with it's violence, the death scenes for Lara might be a bit much for children. However the game revolves more about stealth and puzzle solving. Thus far I've killed more wolves than people. This is a great reboot and for PS owners, I definitely recommend playing it.

This film takes a whimsical and analytical look at the coming of age story by focusing on the personified moods/conscious of a tween. The film covers a lot of ground and will certainly be relevant time and time again. The humor is on key and the plot is smart and deep. We watched this with my 4 year old niece and she loved it.

I only knew ASUS for their hardware parts, and so when I saw a laptop, I was a bit skeptical, so I did some research and this seemed like a worth while risk. For the price, it seems of good quality and decent power. The charge is estimated to last for about 2 hours, but mine's gone on a bit more. I don't know how fast programs and apps load compared to other products out there, but I'm satisfied with this. I'm a professor and a writer, and I really just need a functional PC for writing and lesson plans when I am not at home. This is perfect for that function. I also have a couple big games like The Witcher on here and it loads with no problem. The only issue that I could for see is the surface of the keyboard, which feels very week or maybe I"m just used to the plastic on my old Macbook. Another slight issue is the track-pad, which is uber sensitive and often I find myself unintentionally zooming in and out of screens, but it's not a deal breaker. All and all, this item is worth it's cost and is a great option compared to Lenovo and Acer (which I've had problems with right away).

Is it good for editing videos

I have used this to edit videos on Pinnacle and even tinker with the game creation software, Unity, and so far it works fine :). These programs downloaded faster than on my PC too.
