Robert Crayand the Hi Rhythm Section have made an album that is remenicent of the old Stax/Hi/Memphis music days. Form starting off with a little classic Bill Withers to the end, this cd has an old school Southern feel. Highly recommended
While I've never heard a bad Diana Krall cd, my favorites were the earlier stuff: great interpretations of classics. Great voice, great phrasing and great swing. This cd harkens back to those days and I love it. I highly recommend it.
First of all, Patti can still blow! Her voice is in great shape on this collection of standards and she doesn't disappoint. The high is a duet with Kem on Moody's Mood (one my favorites). Their voices mesh perfectly. Only down point is some of the standards seem a bit odd for Patti (such as Track eleven) but overall very good cd.
This cd has the feel of old-school socially conscious hip-hop. Common music has been very uplifting since the Oscar and I'm fine with that. Great messages in this music.
Fantastic album. As good as always for old fans yet contemporary and on target for today's hip-hop. Songs are very relevant and speak to the world today.
From the first song with Doug E. Fresh to the last: this is classic Bell Biv DeVoe. If you liked Their old sound, you'll love this one. Only problem: too short. It's only about 8 songs. I'd try to catch it on sale.
