First step in smart lighting

This is my first purchase with smart lighting. This was purchased to replace another Lutron dimmer switch that has not been working, it seemed like an opportune time to replace it with a smart device that will work with Alexa and iOS 10. My complaint with the new remotes for the switches is that it is too small and easily lost. But that's also why we bought the smart switch so it will work with Amazon go and our I devices

Clear picture, fast access to smart apps

We were going to buy the Samsung TV but at the last minute changed to the Sony. The only problem I have with the Sony TV is how to add additional apps. I have yet to be successful, you must go to a website and enter a television ID number and use this to add additional apps. Out of the box, it comes with Amazon and Netflix, I need to find out what other apps are available, and add those. It is not a simple process as there are no instructions on where to find the ID number. Once I find the ID and add more apps, I believe it will be a great addition. It is disappointing that there are only 2 HDMI ports, the placement of them is also a disappointment. There is one on the side and one on the back. The one on the back makes it difficult to hang on a wall without the purchase of a 90 degree HDMI adapter. The sound is good, my biggest complaint with the new thin TVs is that they have very poor sound quality because the speakers are so tiny. The solution that they offer is a wireless sound bar which is all fine and good until you don't have the space for it.

A lot of bang for the buck

Our friend in college needed a new laptop and we found similar models with a lesser processOr. This one had the right combination of processor and RAM it was an added bonus that it was a 17 inch screen. We found an open box model for just over $400 and it has done the trick nicely. Asus does not overload the system with garbage software and free trials for games that you will never use (HP).

simple but effective

I purchased this for use with Dragon naturally speaking. It functions fairly well, there is a volume control at the base which seems to help with dictation. The base is not very heavy, but it is strong enough to hold the microphone upright, . It is not built to last the test of time, it is a lightweight, adequately built microphone. The only irritation I have found is the power light that is to the USB port flashes constantly for no reason. It is there to indicate that it has power, but it is not a solid light. I have seen it be solid but for the most part it just sits there and flashes.

Is this both Wi-Fi & electrical? I keep browsing reading the detail descriptions for one to say so
Yes it is WIFI capable via an app on your phone or tablet and you will need to know the password for your WIFI network to add it. It will require an electrical outlet in your home to plug into for power to cook and interface with the app. The WiFI feature allows it to communicate with your phone for remote monitoring as well as interactive recipes and cooking history, there are no other interactions served by WIFI on the device.
