An average film

When compared to the far more superior "Casino Royale" and "Skyfall" "Spectre" (which looks to be Daniel Craig's final Bond film) was just an okay film. The story plot was rather bland and the running time was just far too long. I was also not a fan of Sam Smith's opening title song of "Writing on the Wall" either.
Moreover, Christoph Waltz (Blofeld) and Monica Bellucci (Lucia) were both horribly underused as well....and the ending was very weak, as it just shows Bond walking away from a battered Blofeld on a bridge (Blofeld is then taken into custody by MI6) and walking off into the sunset with Lea Seydoux's character, Madeleine! On that note, I suppose that the writers just did this in a nod to the previous films, where Blofeld always manages to come back, but still. The fact that Blofeld can also somehow be like Bond's "half brother" in some way was also laughable.
Another problem that I had with this film is the rings that all of the villains supposedly wore on their fingers in previous films that ties them to the SPECTRE organization (this includes Le Chiffe, Dominic Greene, Silva, and finally Blofeld). If so, why was this ring, or the SPECTRE organization, not even mentioned in previous films? The scene where Blofeld drills through Bond's head was also pretty unrealistic as well.
However, one thing that I was happy to see is how well they managed to tie every previous Craig era film together in the title sequence. I thought that part was very well done, and Mr. Hinx was also a nice tribute to the late Richard Kiel and his classic Bond villain of "Jaws" as well.
In summary, if you're a big Bond fan like me, you'll probably be let down. Moreover, recent reports have also confirmed that Daniel Craig recently turned down a $100 million contract for two more Bond films as well, so it will be interesting to see where this treasured film series goes next.

I was in search of another flash drive to replace my old one, which was an 8 GB SanDisk Cruzer that was going on the fritz and settled for this one. Love the additional space too! Has been working perfectly since the day of purchase.

Not Taylor's best work

This is what happens when an artist gets so popular, that they have to change genres in order to promote themselves further and make more money. There are positive and negatives to this change. Perhaps the only positive thing here is that it benefits the artist and their management. The negative aspects of doing so are risking alienating the original fanbase, in which it wouldn't surprise me if some have rejected this album because of that. If you are expecting any Country elements in Taylor's latest release, look elsewhere, because this album is now classified as a "Pop" album. Gone are the hint of fiddle and mandolin. Those instruments have since been replaced by cheesy synthesizers, hip hop beats, and R&B. I will say, however, that Swift intended this album to be a tribute of sorts to the 1980s era, an era in which she was born, but just barely, considering the fact that her birth year, and the title of this album, is 1989. On that note, the instrumentation, although lazily done at times, do a decent job of representing that time period. The lyrics, on the other hand, do not sound up to Swift's standards, and like any other generic pop song these days, sounds like it was thrown together quickly in order to make a quick buck. In other words, the lyrics in general sound very recycled and repetitive. I once heard somewhere before that Taylor was interested in making another Country album down the road. I hope she does, because this style of music, although popular, does not seem to be a good fit for her, and she should remember what genre got her to where she is today. With "1989" however, this only tells me that she went for the money. There's no denying, though, that this record is popular. But to have a bunch of fans go on iTunes and pay $1.29 for an "accidental" track that was released by Swift's label that only featured a few seconds of "white noise" otherwise known as static, and then have that "song" go to number one on iTunes, seems a bit overkill to me. Oh well. I guess she can't please everybody. Hopefully, she'll make a return to the Country Pop format again and that this whole experiment with the Pop genre will be over after this album.

A timeless collection of classic hits!

Who can honestly beat the quality driven songs and lyrics of someone as timeless as Patsy Cline? This is a fantastic collection! Cline will forever be a treasured staple in the rich history of Country music, and it's easy to see why. It's just too bad that her life was tragically cut short, as I'm sure that she would've gone on for many more decades, like other great artists such as Loretta Lynn, who to this day, is still making great music.

Six Days, Seven Nights features an excellent 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer. The picturesque greenery, rocky cliffs, and sparkling blue water of the tropical island setting all appear bright and focused, with only a few instances of grain and dirt on the print. The 5.1-channel Dolby Digital audio track is also sharp. The upbeat music moves well through the entire range of the speakers, and gunshots reverberate powerfully from the front speakers. A Dolby Digital French-language track is also available. On the downside, this DVD is a bare-bones release that lacks any notable extra features. It does contain the theatrical trailer in a decent widescreen transfer (along with some laughable recommendations -- Metro and Nothing to Lose -- that have little in common with this film), plus English subtitles and 23 chapter cues. While the Six Days, Seven Nights DVD is technically impressive, it would be improved immensely with better supplemental materials. Even a simple "on location" featurette or fluffy cast interviews would help considerably.

Not Harrison Ford's best film, but still enjoyable

Harrison Ford and Anne Heche headline this film as an experienced pilot named Quinn (Ford) and a workaholic magazine editor from New York named Robin (Heche) who wind up on a prop plane together after Robin is called to Tahiti to supervise a fashion event. At the same time, Robin is also invited by her boyfriend Frank to spend a week holidaying with him on the island of Makatea. Not long after taking off, Quinn and Robin end up getting caught in a thunderstorm and eventually make a crash landing on a deserted island. If I can remember correctly, I believe one of Robin's friends and Quinn's co-pilot Angelica may have made their own way to Makatea in another plane, considering that both Quinn and Robin are the only two that end up crash landing. In any case, they both fortunately survive. They are also quick to blame one another for their newfound predicament. Not long after, the two learn to set aside their differences to focus on their survival. Despite her boyfriend Frank's proposal, in which she previously accepted, Robin suddenly realizes that she may have feelings for Quinn and vice versa. This goes on for a while, while we discover that her boyfriend Frank ends up violating Robin's trust by having a one night stand with Quinn's co-pilot Angelica. Not long after, Quinn and Robin end up getting chased down by pirates, whom they successfully evade by jumping from a cliff into the ocean. Later on, it is revealed that they were actually camping out next to a World War II era Japanese plane that appears to be in rough shape, but is still usable for spare parts. With that in mind, Quinn and Robin get to work by using the plane's spare parts to fix their plane. Once the plane is fixed, the two fly to Makatea, (their original destination before crash landing on the remote island) just in time for their funerals. At the same time, Frank feels terrible about his one night stand with Angelica, but doesn't have the courage to tell Robin about it. Not long after, Robin goes to the hospital to visit Quinn and tells him her true feelings, but he brushes it off. Robin then decides to go back to New York with Frank, but while at the airport in Tahiti, she suddenly realizes that she isn't able to go. At this point, Frank finally confesses to Robin that he had a one night stand with Angelica while Robin tells Frank about her feelings for Quinn. They both agree that they aren't really in love and she gives him back the engagement ring. Quinn suddenly changes his mind about Robin and quickly makes his way to the airport. After successfully stopping Robin's flight, he approaches her. The film ends with the two embracing each other and kissing. To sum it all into perspective, although this film is worth watching, Harrison Ford has definitely had better films. "Six Days, Seven Nights" still provides good entertainment, though!

Alan Jackson delivers!

With "Angels and Alcohol" Country legend Alan Jackson proves once again that you don't have to sing about having a wild party in the backyard with the tailgate down in order to produce a good sounding Country record. Not straying far from tradition, Jackson continues to forge a path for people that still love and respect the classic format of Country music, yet still finds a way to keep his topics relevant. It is a rare occasion for me to like just about every song on an album, but this record is one of my new favorites! I'd highly recommend it to anyone out there that still yearns for real Country music....music that you probably won't hear on any mainstream station for that matter, which is really too bad considering the fact that most, if not all of today's mainstream "Country" acts sing and strut around more like a Pop/Rock star than anyone else. No matter, as this is a record that I plan to listen to for a long time. It is also crystal clear that Alan has enough of a loyal fanbase that would never consider deserting him no matter what happens. On that note, I do hope that Alan will continue to record for years to come. The same can be said for his good friend George Strait, also known as "The King of Country." These two have really left an impact on the Country genre, and it's easy to see why. Lastly, even though I don't think about it too much, it'll sure be a sad day when they both take on a full retirement.

An improvement over Wheelhouse
on August 30, 2014

With Brad Paisley's latest release, titled "Moonshine in the Trunk", he
"experiments" with "EDM-inspired" material, and despite this newfound territory, Paisley mostly succeeds. To sum it all into perspective, his "experimentation" with EDM is somewhat minimal, thankfully. First things first, a musical genre like EDM should have NO business in country music whatsoever, but if Paisley honestly thinks otherwise, then maybe he should hang up his cowboy hat and go that route instead. Regardless of that fact, this album is far better than his previous release, "Wheelhouse" by a long shot, which in itself, barely seemed to have any country elements in it at all, aside from "Southern Comfort Zone" which was a mediocre effort at best. In any case, with "Moonshine in the Trunk", despite the faint addition of EDM inspired material, Paisley at least keeps his signature sound intact on most, if not all of the songs, complete with his own guitar work, fiddle and steel guitar, although the latter are toned down just a bit when compared to his previous albums. In any case, it's finally nice to hear something out of Nashville that actually sounds more like a country album when compared to other wanna-be "country" acts like Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line or Brantley Gilbert. Unless Paisley truly took the advice of his management to change his signature musical style, here's hoping that he'll ditch the EDM nonsense on the next record and go back to his traditional country roots.

What's great about it: Some highlight tracks include High Life, Perfect Storm, Gone Green, Country Nation, and Me and Jesus.
What's not so great: Paisley's "EDM-inspired material" on other select tracks, such as River Bank, JFK 1962, and 4WP (4 Wheel Park).

Hunter Hayes does it again!

Although not as good as his debut album, Hunter Hayes has succeeded once again in delivering a respectable record worth listening to over and over again. Add to the fact that Hayes plays just about every single instrument while recording, while also acting as co-producer (with the assistance of the legendary Dann Huff), this record is truly worth your hard earned money. However, for his next record, I'd like to see Hunter try his hand at a more traditional sounding country song, even if it is just one.

What's great about it: Standout tracks include Wildcard, Storyline, ...Interlude, When Did You Stop Loving Me and ...Like I Was Saying [Jam]
What's not so great: Like his last record, which was very good, this album also seems to have more of a pop rock edge to it.
