Basically, a continuation of Entombed

This is a pretty solid release for fans of Entombed. If you are first checking them out, then I would still start with "Left Hand Path" or "Clandestine." However, this is definitely a worthwhile addition for long-time fans. It's a bit surprising how well they continue to pull off the "Wolverine Blues," and later sound, with only one member from the classic era. Not a ton to say about this one—not a lot of filler, pretty solid album. Yet, there's nothing groundbreaking to be found here, rather, a continuation of what you'd expect. It's the type of album that should be listened to from front to back;) There aren't any songs that you'd skip over and everyone will have their personal favorites. Pick it up & enjoy!

The Spaceman is always great!

In my opinion, like the title of his last album, Ace's solo career is truly an "anomaly." Although he appears to be aware of his strengths and weaknesses, he just kinda writes whatever he feels like writing, at the moment. His albums never sound alike and I can't really imagine putting a song from one album—for example, "Trouble Walking" on another album, say "Frehley's Comet"—as it would seem out of place. You basically know what you are going to get—a poppy hard rock album. The question is what will the overall sound of the album be and how much filler? My personal favorites—as with most fans—are the first two, including the KISS solo album. "Second Sighting" and "Trouble Walking" have a few too many weak songs, in my opinion, therefore, I would probably put "Anomaly" ahead of them.
I have heard people comparing this to the first one, which I would disagree with this comparison. It sounds mostly—as to be expected—like "Anomaly." However, there are more hard rockers on this one and he definitely solos a lot more. Most of the songs are pretty strong, except I can probably do without "The Joker" cover. Some of my favorites, upon a few listens of the album, are "Change," "Past the Milky Way," and "Gimme A Feelin'."
I don't consider myself an Ace fanboy, but I do always order his albums without listening to samples and end up enjoying them—to varying degrees. Would I enjoy another self-titled or "Frehley's Comet"? Of course, but I am happy with a fairly enjoyable Ace album every 5 or so years. So if you are expecting another self-titled or something groundbreaking, relax!!! Or just keep your money in your wallet. If you want an enjoyable album of catchy, pop/hard rock that the Spaceman has come to be known for, pick it up and you'll be more than happy!!! Great album and more than worth the price! By the way, there isn't really anything additional on the deluxe version—few radio edits and slightly different artwork—obviously. Except the deluxe version is a digipack, which I prefer. Enjoy!!!

Third great album with the new vocalist!

Accept's comeback has been really impressive! I can't think of another classic band whose new albums I enjoy on par with their classics. As expected, this album has a similar sound as the last two albums, while incorporating a few more elements of their classic sound, for example: "Dark Side of My Heart" has a classic sounding riff much like "Up to the Limit." I really love Wolf's soloing even more since the comeback—there seems to be one of those epic, melodic sounding leads in nearly every song. Mark, as well as everyone, delivers another awesome performance—as on the previous two albums. Great album!!!
If you are already a fan, pick it up—it's a great addition to the Accept catalog. If not previously an Accept fan, this is a worthy introduction and you really need to check this band out, if you have any interest in melodic/traditional metal or hard rock. By the way, the content for the price is insane—it's worth the price for only the DVD or the album and you get both!!! Pick it up, now!!!

2 good albums at a nice price!

I was a pretty big W.A.S.P. fan back in high school, but have not been a huge fan since—I stopped purchasing their albums after 2001's "Unholy Terror." However, this does not mean that I don't still throw on one of their albums every now and then, and my album of choice has always been the debut. I previously owned "Inside the Electric Circus" on cassette, however, I got rid of all my cassettes a few years ago. So I was pretty familiar with the album and I actually liked it more than "The Last Command"—never was a big fan of that one. Also, for whatever reason, I never got around to buying "The Headless Children," so it's a welcome addition to my collection.
All this is fairly pertinent as I have W.A.S.P. induced ADHD, so I can't really recommend that you put on the albums and listen to them front-to-back. However—as previously stated—to add the albums to my collection for irregular spins of some of my favorite tracks, they are well worth the price. Now, contrary to a lot of negative opinion including Blackie to "The Electric Circus," I like this album quite a bit. The Humble Pie and Uriah Heep covers are really well done and the singles, "9.5.-N.a.s.t.y." and the title track are all highlights. As well, I wouldn't consider the rest of the album filler, but rather above average rockers that are well worth the listen.
"The Headless Children" has been heralded by many as their greatest album and most mature, however, it is difficult for me to give an unbiased opinion based upon previously stated information. Therefore, I'll say that it is a really solid album and could definitely contend for their best alongside the debut—"Crimson Idol" is automatically disqualified, for me, due to Chris Holmes' absence. I will say, that this album has some of their best songwriting and I agree with the opinion that is their most mature up to that point. Basically, every song is good and "Mean Man" is one of my favorite W.A.S.P. tracks.
To my knowledge, you get all the bonus tracks from any re-issues. The packaging is obviously weak, but that is to be expected from these types of releases where several albums are combined in one package. In summation, totally worth the price! Whether you are a fan or want to check out W.A.S.P. for the first time, this is a worthy purchase.

Perfect for those who don't have the early albums!

I got into opeth around 2000 & have bought their albums since. However, for whatever reason, I never got around to buying the early albums although I heard a lot of good things about them. Recently, I was on an opeth kick & I figured that I'd round out the collection. In my case, this was a perfect collection because I'm, generally, not too big of a nerd about packaging, but rather, I do prefer to have all the bonus songs or video content. This collection includes the re-releases, therefore, it includes all available bonus material & at a better price than buying the individual albums!
Generally, these early albums aren't as great of production as some their later albums, however, nevertheless pretty good compared to some of their contemporaries. Musically, I think I still prefer the blackwater-ghost reveries albums, exc. damnation--sorry, not a fan as it kinda bores me--only because I believe these albums are the definition of what makes opeth awesome. With these early albums, it is appears they are trying to find their identity &, therefore, incorporate elements such as some black metal tendencies at times which although they work, I just prefer the death/folk/progressive formula of the later albums. Either way, still very songs and performances &, if anything, this only displays how great some of their other work is as these albums are very good!

Classic Dokken!
on November 30, 2013

OK, let me start by saying that I love George Lynch's tone on this album the most of all the Dokken albums! There is something very organic about it—to my ears—despite the obvious processing. I know that sounds weird, but I just love it! Mr. Scary—obviously, for many, the main attraction to Dokken!
On to things more pertinent to the non-guitar nerds, this album is pretty solid as far as both musicianship and songwriting. Some really catchy, well-constructed songs, despite some "slightly" cheesy lyrics at times—just about every song is about love or relationships. This album contains a fair amount of their hits from "Kiss of Death," "Heaven Sent," and "Dream Warriors," but also the remainder is very solid and definitely not just filler. But if you like catchy, arena hard rock, then you will love this album!

Great 80's hard rock band!

Dokken is unfairly lumped in with the 80's glam rock, however, I think they—along with a few other bands—kept good hard rock alive in an era of abundant cheesy, image-based bands. This album is probably my favorite of the classic Dokken albums. I owned it before on cassette, so that I purchased it again is a testament to the fact that I think it's a pretty good album.
This album contains many of their "greatest hits" including "Unchain the Night," "In My Dreams," and "It's Not Love"—as well as many of their lesser known gems such as "Hunter"—so there is no shortage of great tunes. As mentioned earlier, this is probably my favorite because I enjoy it the most from front to back—some of their other albums I have to skip over some tracks. All around, good performances including, of course, George Lynch—how can you not enjoy his tasteful playing and tone. Obviously, the album is not short on killer riffs and solos. This is a great album for guitar fans or guitarists, as well as most of Dokken's releases. For anyone wanting to check out a full studio album from Dokken, I would probably recommend that you start with this release.

Amazing!

This is the first time that I have given a 5 star review. The reason is because this album was destined to disappoint as it was so anticipated within the metal community, however, it does not disappoint at all and, in fact, it actually exceeded my expectations. For those already familiar with Carcass, the album is a mix between Necroticism, Heartwork, and Swansong—IMO, closest to Heartwork. For those who are not previously Carcass fans, however, are fan of some of the more melodic styles of metal, you need to check this band out as there is a ton of melody and great songwriting which would definitely be accessible to non-death metal fans. This album is loaded with great songs—every few spins I have a new favorite! Also, great production as on the majority of the Carcass releases. Amazing performances—I especially love Bill Steer's playing as on all their releases! Buy this album now—you will love it!!!!!

Great album!

I would have given this album 5 stars, however, I reserve 5s for my absolute favorite albums of all time. This album is about as solid as you could get though—every song is great!
Unfortunately, there's something that doesn't quite translate with symphonic metal to American audiences, but there is some really well written, catchy music to come out of the genre and this album is a good example. I'm a fan of the more extreme styles of metal and can understand why these styles are less accessible or an acquired taste. My point is that this album should be enjoyable to non-metal fans.
If you're a fan then you know what you're getting. The bonus CD is totally worth the purchase also but you should know that from the track listing. If you're not previously a fan then this is the one to start with. The performances and songwriting are top notch and I would strongly recommend this to fans of music, in general. Great album!

Killer Queen!
on September 15, 2013

Verified Purchase:Yes
I'm gonna try to keep this short as I just did a review for "A Night at the Opera" which was kinda long as it is my favorite Queen album. However, this album is not far behind and also—no matter what order you rank them—all the early Queen albums, minimally, are must haves. I'll admit that I am a little sick of "Killer Queen" as it does get overplayed on rock radio and I've owned a version of this album for a few decades nearly. However, it's still amazing as is every other song on this album: "Brighton Rock," "Lily of the Valley," "She Makes Me," I'll stop as I could name every song as a classic! Great performances and songwriting as to be expected from Queen! One of the greatest albums of all time!
As for the remaster, it sounds fine to me—similar to the early 90s version which I always thought sounded great! Wish it was a digipack would, I guess, be my only complaint.

Can the essential oils be added to the water? In the comparison section for the product it says yes (check mark) but in one of the questions asked the answer given is no. So a bit confused. Refer to the screen shot attached.
