At first, many carped about the casting of Daniel Craig as Jamers Bond, however from the very start of Casino Royale it was clear Craig was a new Bond for a new era and the fit was perfect. Indeed, his first 3 outings as 007 have all proven to be both exciting and thought provoking. Unfortunately, this fourth installment does not live up to the standards set by the previous three.
This is not to say that Craig does a poor job,for he does not, and there are plenty of well choreographed action sequences, and yet the total effect of the film is not equal to the sum of its parts. Something is missing here, some spark or bit of magic that keeps this film from being as good as the others. Daniel Craig is an excellent actor, but perhaps he is correct in saying it is time for him to move on.
The Blu-ray itself looks great and the audio is superb, so no complaints there. And, compared to some of the earlier films in the Bond franchise, this is certainly a well crafted and fun ride, but, for me at least, Casino Royale remains the best of the Daniel Craig Bonds.
Ridley Scott has done some of his best work when he directs science fiction (Alien, Blade Runner) and The Martian is no exception. Based upon the popular novel of the same name, Scott has assembled a first rate cast of actors working at the top of their game. So too Scott's technical team delivers first rate effects throughout.. ***SPOILER ALERT***
Sean Bean's character is the true hero of the story. ***** The image quality looks great in HD on Blu-ray and the audio is just as good. Pop some corn and turn up the sub-woofer for a fun ride.
This intense release from the acclaimed British detective series Sherlock includes all three feature-length episodes from the show's third season, following the adventures of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's titular hyper-observant detective as set in modern day London.

Although the third season is not as engaging or innovative as Season 1 and 2 this third outing is still well worth watching. The acting remains uniformly good with the by-play between Homes & Watson still fun to watch. Of the episodes by far the most interesting is #3 His Last Vow. This one keeps us guessing and provides several effective surprises along the way.
Video & Audio quality is excellent (HD on Blu-ray) and production values are superior.
Again, not as groundbreaking as the first two seasons but a recommended purchase for fans and a definite rental for the casual viewer. We enjoyed it and think our money & time well spent.

What's great about it: Acting remains uniformly good as is the look of the show
What's not so great: Plots for this season are weaker than those of the first two seasons and yet are superior to most other shows on TV.
