I missed this film in theaters but picked up a copy on Blu-ray when it was on sale at a very sharp price.
On our Sony 65" 4K monitor this film looked great and the sound was excellent -- so no complaints about the technical aspects of the disc. These are solid. However...
The film itself was a bit of a disappointment and I will readily admit that this may be due to 'Super Hero Burnout" more than any intrinsic problem with the film itself. I actually thought the cast very good and have enjoyed these actors in any number of other films, but here, the story did not engage me and it was downhill from there.
The film does boast strong production values but the story simply did not work for me. IF you are a fan of the X-men or enjoyed this film in the theatre then this disc is a good purchase for you. On a good HD monitor it will look great. On there other hand, if you are only marginally interested then wait until this disc goes on sale. For $10 you are spending the same as you would for a matinee ticket to the cinema and in that case you will not think yourself ill used if the film is a disappointment.
I will recommend this - with the caveat that this is a film for fans more than the casual viewer.

Captain America and Ironman -- What's Not To Love

I did see this film at the cinema and about 30 minutes into the story I was starting to wonder if maybe I had grown tired of the entire Superhero genre, and then the story took off and I was in for the ride, all the way.
One aspect of the Marvel films, as opposed to those from the DC franchise, is the use of humor. Marvel seems to have found the right formula for levening their films with humor and thus making for an enjoyable experience.
Safe to say if you enjoyed this film at the cinema then this Blu-ray will not disappoint. HD video quality is excellent as is the audio.
For me, the best of the Marvel films has been Captain America Winter Soldier, however I am happy to add this film to our collection.

I needed a new external hard drive with a larger capacity than my current drive, and after reading quite a few reviews the WD MyBook seemed like the best way to go. Can not argue with the price, it was very sharp and the new drive was very easy to set up and put into operation -- 'Plug & Play.'
However...
I am a bit disappointed because the MyBook does not work well with the iMac's Time Machine auto-backup system. Indeed, the auto system failed after a couple of backups so that I am now keeping the MyBook disconnected, only plugging it in and doing a manual backup once or twice a week. This is not a problem in and of itself, but not as convenient as it could be or should be.
All that being said, this is a large capacity drive at a very good price that is easy to set up and relatively painless to use.

When I first encountered this film at the cinema, years ago, I knew I wanted to add it to my video collection. Now that it is available in HD on Blu-ray I have finally done so and glad I did.
This film tells a little known story from American History that deserves wide recognition -- an important reminder of the price paid for the freedoms we enjoy today. Beyond that though, this is also an entertaining film that features excellent performance from a most talented cast.
This is a worthy addition to your video collection and a film you will watch again.

It is clear, almost from the start, why this film received so much attention during awards season -- this is a tough film to watch but worth the effort. Although the story itself is relatively simple, the artistry with which it is told is any thing but simple. It is both rich and deep with many truly breathtaking images. So too the performance, particularly those by DiCaprio and Hardy. (Oh, and by the Bear too.)
Video and audio quality on this Blu-ray are excellent.
This may not be a film you pull off the shelf and watch regularly, however it is worth watching and an excellent addition to any video collection.

Blowing Up the Death Star Again...

Video & Audio on this Blu-ray disc are excellent -- no complaints there, and the 'extras' are fun, however...
While the film itself achieves its purpose (to bring the fans back into the fold) one has to wonder just how many times do we need to blow up the Death Star? Likewise, while it is fun to see all the familiar characters back in action, EpVII also makes one appreciate just what an ambitious story teller George Lucas really is. Yes, the prequel trilogy (Episodes 1-3) do not work as well as one might hope, it is also clear that Lucas set out a far more interesting and ambitious story line than has JJ Abrams. (Perhaps the remaining episodes, 8 & 9, will give us a deeper story but that remains to be seen.)
Again, this is a fun film, so pop some corn and enjoy the ride.

Although the Infinity figures do not feature any articulation, they make up for it with their imaginative sculpts and robust construction. These figures look great and are perfect for display or use in 'Big Battles for Small Hands' or tabletop war games.
It is unfortunate the Disney has decided to discontinue this figure line -- they really are great figures.

Having collected Star Wars action figures since 1980 I must say that the current figure lines now available are mediocre as best. Yes, the 6" Black Series figures are well made, but also very expensive. However...
The Infinity figures are a happy exception. These figures feature imaginative designs and robust construction. They look great and will survive heavy use. These are great looking figures and it is unfortunate that Disney has decided to discontinue the figure line.

The disc, included in the box, did not work and required that I go to the manufacturer's website and download the program from them. It did clean up a couple of minor items but did not make much difference overall in the speed or performance of my Mac. Program was just OK.

This is a most eclectic and eccentric retelling of the Bram Stoker tale of Vlad the Impaler, better known as Dracula, If your taste in vampires is more Frank Langella than Nosferatu then this film may not be for you. However, if so, you are missing a most inventive and fun romp through Transylvania and Edwardian London with a cast of eclectic actors giving excellent performances. Some might find it all a bit over the top, but that's actually part of the fun, as are the art direction and production design. This is a feast for the eyes, So sink in your eyetooth and enjoy the sweet taste of full blooded filmmaking.
The Blu-ray boosts excellent video and audio quality with several "extras" so no complaints there.
So pop up some corn, sprinkle it liberally with garlic salt, and enjoy.
