I will admit, I really enjoy this album but it is not the bands strongest to date. They experiment more here with softer tones and song structures leaving aside their heavier past. I am all for self expression and experimentation and if this is what they wanted to do then so be it. It is their band and they can do as they please!

This is a new band formed from some members of the band Therion and other musicians as well. They have an old school vibe of 70's metal and psychedelica. Think of in the line of Black Sabbath with female vocals. Impressive debut!

If you are a fan of hard rock/heavy metal with a sense of humor then you will love these guys! Think in the vein of Van Halen but slightly heavier with extremely talented musicians. These guys have been around for a while but this is the first album I have from them. Great!

Sigh is an experimental band from Japan. Nevertheless, you cant really pigeonhole them into a specific genre. Loosely you can say that they are metal, but they also employ classical elements, death metal vocals, thrash and some more classic heavy metal styles. Its really a mish mash of the highest sense. If you are adventurous musically and aren't a genre purest check Sigh out!

At the Gates have been around for many years but had taken a several year break recently. But with the extra time away they have come back stronger with a very solid album. I would highly recommend this album for anyone into more extreme metal with a progressive bent.

First off this is a covers album by prong not their own music. But nevertheless the album is very good. They put their own spin on the music and it came out quite interesting. Prongs albums are essential listening.

Uffomammut are an excellent band. It is hard to categorize them other than to say they play heavy-very heavy, metal based rock. Generally their songs are long formed and intricate with several time and tempo changes throughout. Highly recommended.
