The Getaway
on April 24, 2010

The Getaway is probably my favorite Steve McQueen film and is packed to the limit and beyond with plenty of action. Car chases, firefights and suspence. Ali MacGraw, in real life, was Steve McQueen's wife so it's neat to see them work side by side of each other during the movie. It's definatly worth any price on the shelves and I'm sure anyone would enjoy watching it. But, like all Sam Peckinpah films, there is alot of gory violence especially at the end scene when Steve get's a hold of that scattergun and .45 auto.
What's great about it: The King of Cool - Steve McQueen
What's not so great: The movie was hard to find in stores!

Gordon Douglas' Lady in Cement (1968) is the second and slightly better-known of Frank Sinatra's two outings as Miami-based private detective Tony Rome, mostly due to the co-starring presence of Raquel Welch, though it has a lot more to recommend it than that. The movie did show up on laserdisc in the late '80s, but the DVD offers a lot more -- for starters, there's a transfer that is infinitely cleaner, brighter, and sharper than the laser, so that the latter now looks like a VHS tape by comparison. The interior shots are all mastered so beautifully on this disc that they're like a massage to the eye, and that's before Raquel Welch appears in the picture. The letterboxed image (2.35:1) is a delight, and the audio is mastered at a decent volume level, with appropriate clarity. The 93-minute movie has been given an incredibly generous 28 chapters, and comes with a nice array of vintage promotional materials -- the original trailer, in English and in Spanish, plus the complete and edited versions of the television promotional spot for the movie, and trailers for a handful of other Welch-starring vehicles. There are optional French- and Spanish-language tracks, and English and Spanish subtitles.

Before there was Magnum P.I. there was Tony Rome. A classic, private eye with quick smarts and cool swagar. I liked this movie alot it had a pretty ok plot and the acting was ir-replaceable. I'd recommend it to anyone.
What's great about it: Raquel Welch's pool scene
What's not so great: Hoss didn't have his hat

A 211 In Progress
on April 17, 2010

One Adam 12! See the man a 211 in progress! Officer's Reed and Malloy are back and they're better than ever at bringing down the bad guys. What more can I say this season, like all the Adam 12 seasons available, are action packed and clean cut entertainment today just like it was back in the days they were airing on TV with the exception that these are in color.
What's great about it: The good guys allways win
What's not so great: You can guess the end every time

Charles Bronson gets an elephant gun and goes out for a Fudgesicle after a gang of street punks take over his neighborhood in this, the third film in the Death Wish series, which gets a straightforward release on DVD. Death Wish 3 has been given a pan-and-scan transfer to disc in the full-frame aspect ratio of 1.33:1, while the audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital Mono. The dialogue is in English, with optional subtitles in English, Spanish, and French. The film's original theatrical trailer appears as a bonus.

Excellent Movie

Death Wish 3 is an excellent movie! It explains the awfull truth's of living in a crime inhabbited area with no way to protect yourself. The plot and the story was excellent and Charles Bronson was great in this film! There is alot of exciting action and plenty of attention getting drama, but be prepared as it does have alot of gory scenes, strong language and some explicit parts. Other than that this is a must see movie and I would strongly recomend it to anyone!
What's great about it: The plot and it's reality
What's not so great: disk scratches easily

Michael Bay's high-octane hostage thriller The Rock comes to DVD with basic features such as a widescreen transfer, Dolby Digital 5.1 Audio, and the theatrical trailer. Though the set's lack of extras is somewhat disappointing, the disc's impressive video and audio, as well as strong performances from Sean Connery, Nicolas Cage, and Ed Harris, make The Rock worthwhile for action fans.

Lock 'n Load Entertainment!

Lock 'n load entertainment with lot's of exciting small arms exchange and heart beating suspense! Sean Connery plays a mean role, but an excellent one as usual. The plot was about an average '' action flick '' type, but it had alot of unusual ways to get around it so the good guys could win. The movie itself was one of a kind and really exciting as was the music thruout the whole thing. I would definatly recommend this movie to anybody!
What's great about it: 007
What's not so great: You couldn't root for the Marines this time!

Sweet Girl Sweet Voice

I usualy don't listin to female country singers, but this CD was on sale so I decided to try it out. I found Miranda's voice to be sweet and relaxing, but at the same time tomboyish. I liked the song " Gunpowder and Lead " best, but they were all great. She's got a voice that relaxes you and I like that you can understand what she's singing and it also has some great electrical guitar plinking. Wish she'd say something more possitive about a guy though!
Other than that I'd recomend her music and this CD.
What's great about it: Relaxing to hear
What's not so great: She should have something positive to say for a guy

Some Good Vibrations

I allways get some good vibrations when I listin to the Beach Boys and I'm 21 years old. This particular CD has a large number of songs on it for such a good price. Songs of Summer has all of the hip songs and is probably my favorite copy now. " California Girls " starts it out so you know it's worth buying with that one alone! I'd strongly recomend this CD to anyone young and old.
What's great about it: You can understand what they're saying
What's not so great: CD scratches easily

The Best Movie Ever
on March 29, 2010

This is my favorite movie ever and probably my favorite movie Tom Selleck ever made. The land and the horses put together with the music was beautiful and very artistic. The way the movie was filmed really helped the viewer understand the cowboy's love for his job, the woman he loved, his honor and respect of his fellow man and the heartbrake of the end of a dying breed. The actors were great as was the scenery and the end scene really hit me hard. Towards the end of the movie it was extremely sad, but the last one minute of the movie made you feel really happy and I'm sure made many cry. Not saying that I did! I'd strongly recomend this movie to anyone!
What's great about it: Great price for an excellent movie
What's not so great: scratches easily
I would recommend this to a friend!

Chick Flick
on March 29, 2010

from Tarpon Springs, FL
This movie was given to me so I had to watch it. I don't watch dog movies, but I must say this film really hit me especially at the end. I got the idea it was a chick flick and I'm sure many have cried at the end of this film, but I didn't. The scenery in the movie was beautiful and the dogs were really great too. I liked seeing how the dogs engaged those sea gulls, but the end was definatly my favorite scene. My first assumption of this film was pretty low. I thought the guys at the beginning were unmature college guys doing crazy stuff, but I gradually saw the humor in it and it made for a great movie. The actors had perfect roles and the girl was hot too. I'd recomend the movie to anyone especially family's.
What's great about it: The end
What's not so great: The sad story

100 Rifles

100 rifles and Raquel Welch. Can't get any better than that or so I thought when I purchased this movie. The plot and the whole movie wasn't really that exciting or entertaining. The only entertainment I got was seeing Raquel Welch standing underneath that falling water. But there was no real acting or real plot other than to see what Raquel would do next. I would not recomend this movie to anyone as it has no entertainment qualities other than a pretty girl and a macho title.
What's great about it: Raquel Welch
What's not so great: The plot
