Great little Halloween film from 2009!

Lots of fun! An anthology - so, it's about 4 separate stories, but are somehow all connected! If you like Halloween, you NEED to see this.
What's great about it: puts you in the perfect Halloween spirit
What's not so great: not much to disapprove of
I would recommend this to a friend!

Pass on this poor remake; see the original 3 films

What a disappointment! I'm for any film that takes place on Halloween, but this remake of the original late '80's film stinks! The end couldn't come fast enough for me: horrible acting, no scary moments, cheezy (and few) special effects. At least the first 2 films had something going for them, especially Night of the Demons 2 with that nun that stole the show! This film has nothing going for it. I didn't even like any of the characters in it. If you're smart, skip it. Go trick-or-treating on the next block. A very good film that came on DVD last Halloween is "Trick or Treat."
What's great about it: takes place on Halloween (that's really about it)
What's not so great: no plot, no special effects, no likeable characters
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not a good film; makes light of a sick happening

Not even a very gory or graphic film like it claims to be; focuses on "Leslie," one of Charles Manson's 'girls.' The protagonists, like the young boy who is on the jury trial, are sort of likable, but they don't fit in this movie. The touches of lighthearted comedy don't seem to mix with this brutal footnote in history. This film can't even remember its own title: The cover and the movie title in the film say "Manson - My Name Is Evil," but by the end credits the movie film has suddenly changed to "Leslie - My Name Is Evil." There are several moments in this 'drama' that will make you roll your eyes, particularly when the young boy juror is being shaken about in his hotel room -- he invokes God and promises to find Leslie guilty if God will 'save' him - then it immediately stops. Give me a break. Watch a good documentary or the 1970's film "Helter Skelter" for a more accurate, meatier story. Just another in one of Lionsgate DVD's long long line of poorly-made home video releases...
What's great about it: some lighthearted moments between the good characters
What's not so great: mixes humor with a grave subject, not very well either...

Worth a look! Engaging little horror film...

I liked it, although it reminds me of a lot of other horror films. Not terribly original. But I enjoyed it; I think it's definitely worth a look. The guy who sets up the 'scavenger hunt' in the film sings an original song over the 2nd half of the end credits -- not a bad voice! The revelation of the killer's identity in this one might actually surprise you...
What's great about it: interesting story; great song over 2nd 1/2 of credits
What's not so great: typical horror film in many ways
I would recommend this to a friend!

not the best film in the world, but entertaining. This is actually a release of an older film with Michael Gough; it's not a brand new film.
Has some creepy moments, some suspense. Worth a look...
What's great about it: suspenseful, interesting enough
What's not so great: has some dull moments here and there
I would recommend this to a friend!

Keeps you guessing - is she dead or not?

Interesting premise: is Christina Ricci really dead or is her friendly-neighborhood mortician Liam Neeson just making her think that?
Justin Long has a smaller role as Ricci's husband (boyfriend?). This pulls you back and forth as you try to determine: is she actually dead or not? Eventually though, this gets a bit tiresome...
What's great about it: kind of a novel story
What's not so great: a bit long; gets tiresome after a while
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is one of those films that really pulls you in! 9 people are prisoner in this dark, dirty little prison cell and are told that one will die every hour until the group, as a whole, can figure out WHY they are there. There's some gore, some horrific elements, and more that make this a grisly little thriller that takes place in one room for most (?) of the movie. This one's definitely worth a look-see...
What's great about it: Suspenseful, interesting little story
What's not so great: takes place mostly in one room
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not the best film!

The 2 stars, Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin are hardly in this gory little film about a couple that takes over their house, and before you know it, bodies start piling up everywhere! I think the guy who plays the lead psycho is pretty good, but there's not really much to this movie, so I would be very surprised if anyone watched this, and would then actually recommend it to someone else...
What's great about it: nothing GREAT, just a passable waste of time
What's not so great: the main stars are hardly in this 'cheat'
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
