Not quite what the short story is

The short story 1408 brings tears to my eyes when i read it because my eyes water when i'm extremely scared. I can still read it to this day years later and it still has the same effect. The movie however is missing some of the elements that made the story so horrifying. So my advice; read the short story, see the movie! It has great acting and the plot is the same as the book so it will please the picky like myself. Wish they would have put several things into the movie that would had made the audience wet their pants.
What's great about it: Stephen King...duh
What's not so great: Missing some very scary parts

The concept that all of us ugly guys can get someone as hot as Heigl is insane. Nice thought but insane! Freaking hilarious most of the way through and too serious at times. This movie could have been much better i think, but definitely worth watching!
What's great about it: The concept, lol
What's not so great: acting is kinda lame

Chris Columbus' follow-up to his hugely successful Home Alone comes to DVD with a widescreen transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. English, Spanish, and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Surround. English subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include talent biographies and the original theatrical trailer. This disc does a fine job of reproducing the film, but the high list price and the lack of interesting extras make it difficult to recommend without reservation.

not part one at all...

Supposing the success of the first film warranted another i would think they would put a little more thought into the plot, i mean come on! Crazy! The acting is good by Culkin, Pesci, and Stern that saves this movie. If you loved the first like myself, give this one a go i guess.
What's great about it: Macaulay Culkin was funny back then
What's not so great: They left him home alone again? Come on!

From the man who brought you Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels comes this hilarious and hyper-stylized gangster opus focusing on a valuable diamond and a collection of quirky criminals -- arriving on DVD courtesy of Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment. The feature is viewable in either the original aspect ratio of 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen or 1.33:1 pan-and-scan, with audio selections including closed-captioned English Dolby Digital 5.1 or French Dolby Digital Surround with optional English, French, or Pikey subtitles. Bonus materials include director and producer audio commentary, "Stealing Stones" enhanced branching mode, and production notes.

This is my kind of humor and my kind of film. Acting is great and plot is better. Although some of the humor is out there and some may not be able to comprehend but if you get it you will have a deep appreciation for this film! Definitely watch this movie!

Stephen Sondheim's award-winning musical thriller comes to the big screen in this adaptation directed by Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Sacha Baron Cohen, Timothy Spall, and Alan Rickman. Embittered at having been wrongly imprisoned and determined to seek vengeance against his accusers due to the grim fate that befell his wife and daughter while he was incarcerated, ex-convict Sweeney Todd (Depp) returns to his hometown and opens a modest barber shop. The one thing different about Todd's shop, however, is that no one who walks in for a trim is ever seen again. Subsequently branded "The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" by the frightened community, Todd continues with his murderous exploits with a little assistance from his amorous accomplice, Mrs. Lovett (Bonham Carter) -- whose popular meat pies secretly have a most unsavory ingredient.

Depp is GOOD!

Depp has another good flick here, even though there is a lot of singing, which i could do without, some of it adds humor to this otherwise dark film. Great plot and its execution by all involved is grand. Fear the Demon Barber, Watch this!
What's great about it: Johnny Depp is one of the best
What's not so great: Too much darn singing

One of the most important World War II films of our time and winner of five Academy Awards, Saving Private Ryan is a seemingly routine DVD, but it packs a big punch. In addition to standard DVD extras such as production notes, cast and crew bios and the theatrical trailer, this disc includes "Into the Breach", a 25-minute making-of featurette that is both an informative history lesson on D-day and a story of Spielberg's fascination with war. "Into the Breach" includes interviews with D-day survivors as well as of Spielberg and his father and spotlights his early student war films Escape to Nowhere and Fighter Squadron. The film itself receives a great transfer in widescreen 1:85, and Dolby Digital or 5:1 Surround.

The acting, the cinematography, the plot, the DVD extras; they all deliver! Tom Hanks and the whole cast deserve praise for their roles in this one! Superbly done all the way around! Too graphic for children but everyone should see this movie at some point in their lives!

Unquestionably the Animal House for the 21st century (there are too many similarities to count!), Old School has come to DVD from Dreamworks, and they've done a fine job on this title. The 2.35:1 anamorphic image is outstanding in every way. Detail is strong, and colors come across perfectly. The transfer is as close to a direct translation from the theatrical print as you could get. As is common now, there is a chopped pan-and-scan version available separately and both rated and unrated versions for the widescreen version. Both 5.1 Dolby Digital and DTS tracks are included, which may come as a surprise. Occasionally there are some directional effects, but for the most part, this soundtrack is centered in the forward speakers. Regardless, these are fine tracks, distortion free, with clear dialogue. This release is further punched up by the addition of a number of supplements. Up front is a commentary from director Todd Phillips and stars Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn, and Luke Wilson. Just as with the film, this track is a party and a pleasure to listen to. Also included are eight deleted scenes, some of which could easily have been kept in this short 90-minute film. For anyone familiar with cable's Inside the Actor's Studio, a 21-minute "Inside the Actor's Studio Spoof" with the same group in the commentary will produce additional laughs. In addition to standard biographies and productions notes is a studio PR featurette, photo gallery made up primarily of direct shots from film, the theatrical trailer, and four television spots. It's hard not to laugh at the crude humor of Old School and this DVD simply adds to the experience.

Old School is great as a comedy can get! The concept is off the wall and would never happen especially on a school campus, but hey its good cinema! Will Ferrell, Vince Vaughn, and Luke Wilson combine for what is great chemistry in each scene they are in together and shine when by themselves. What's not so great about Old School is that in parts its kinda stupid, especially when Will Ferrell's character gets drunk, but hey it's so stupid its funny so...This is surely a must see!
What's great about it: FUNNY FUNNY FUNNY
What's not so great: stupid at times but hilarious

Great book to film adaptation, with scares and comedy. Great adventure movie with great acting. Jules Verne would be proud! With the 3-D glasses giving me a headache its nice to be able to watch the movie in 2-D. Great special features like the making of and a few games to play as well, it kinda feels like you are immersed in the movie yourself! Worth watching!
What's great about it: great adaptation of the Jules Verne novel

"The #1 Thriller of All Time" comes to DVD as part of Hollywood Pictures' Collector's Edition series. Fans of M. Night Shyamalan's ingenious supernatural story will revel in the 1.85:1 widescreen (enhanced for 16 x 9 televisions) format and 5.1 Surround Sound which fully capture the intricate details of the film and tangible paranormal presence. What makes this DVD especially enjoyable, however, is the multitude of behind-the-scenes features, many of which are narrated by Shyamalan and other key crew members. Included are a French-language track; a "Storyboard to Film Comparison" of the anniversary dinner scene; cast and crew interviews; a fascinating "Music and Sound Design" presentation that illustrates how the incredibly creepy background track was created; and "Reaching the Audience," an explanation of how word of mouth made this movie the cultural phenomenon it became. Also included are "Rules and Clues," a guide to the hints threaded throughout the movie before its explosive, surprise ending; four deleted scenes, one of which is an extended finale; and an interview with Shyamalan in which he talks about his background and how it affected his filmmaking. Theatrical and TV trailers as well as cast and crew biographies round things out. Finally, viewers should click on the beribboned box for a real treat -- Shyamalan's first horror film, "Nightmare on Old Gulf," which was written, produced, directed, and starred in by the film phenom when he was 11 years old.

can I purchase a part for the wii Rockband drum set?

Unfortunately not...There isn't pieces out there for purchase. Sorry to say you gotta buy the whole drum set. Good thing is, they sell the drum set separately and not just a package with mic and guitar. Hope this helps!
