A make you smile, feel good movie

Ben Stiller really needs to thank his agent for this one. This is a great movie, fun, exciting, some suspense, drama, comedy. Reminds me of no movie in particular but it does remind me of the feel good movies of the 80's like Back to the Future, Short Circuit, and Batteries Not Included to name a few. This is one for the kids and for the adults. I'm almost 30 and can't wait to see the 2nd installment! Absolutely worth watching!
What's great about it: Good family fun
What's not so great: if for kids a few scary images, but for us adults its a fun ride
I would recommend this to a friend!

better than The Dark Knight

Well, for starters let me say Heath Ledger R.I.P He did a fine acting job here, very very dark portrayal of the ominous Joker. Can't say i liked Ledger before this, what a tragic loss to the movie business. This movie is full of action, full of story, full of suspense. To put it simply...This movie is just plain good. Anxious for the 3rd installment of this new take on the Batman flicks, which is much more like the actual (most recent) dark side of Batman in the comics. The 90's Batman with Keatan and Nicholson was good too and bore signs of the Adam West version of Batman in the early days. Batman Begins blew those out of the water, and with ease The Dark Knight left all others in the dust, this is a must watch a fan of the comic or not...SEE THIS MOVIE!
What's great about it: Batman of course and yes the Joker
What's not so great: i wanna say something bad but i can't
I would recommend this to a friend!

For those who thought director Zack Snyder's remake of George A. Romero's zombie classic packed an impressive punch in theaters, Universal Home Video's DVD release of the unrated director's cut provides even more bloody fun -- in addition to offering some impressive bonus materials that actually serve to enhance the viewing experience. Lovingly presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen, this release of Dawn of the Dead looks fantastic. Not only does the presentation feature colors that are as bold as they are vivid, but it also offers great skin tones, shows little to no signs of edge enhancement, and delivers pitch-black darkness in the nighttime scenes. Dawn of the Dead is a very high-contrast film, and Universal has done a terrific job in faithfully preserving its visual presentation on the small screen. The Dolby Digital 5.1 surround mix likewise does an effective job in keeping viewers ill at ease by means of punchy music cues and eerie directional effects. Additional footage that didn't appear in the theatrical release covers everything from more graphic zombie mayhem to some revealing and endearing character development. Even with such a hearty visual presentation, the reason most viewers will be purchasing this disc is for the generous bonus materials -- and they're not likely to be disappointed. Unlike the sometimes superfluous extras on most over-bloated special edition DVDs, Dawn of the Dead offers some bonus materials that truly draw the viewer in to the experience of the film. "The Lost Tape" of gun store owner Andy (Bruce Bohne) offers a videotaped document of the one of the more appealing but justifiably underdeveloped characters in the film, while "Special Report: Zombie Invasion" offers a faux newscast which covers the epidemic from the first reports to the moment when broadcast television gives way to the Emergency Broadcast System. If the 12-plus minutes of deleted scenes aren't necessarily the "pulse-pounding scenes too terrifying for the final theatrical release!" that the packaging promises, they do offer a few nice scares and some great character development in addition to showing, through the optional commentary, that Snyder has a keen eye for pacing. For those interested in special makeup effects, this release offers a trio of unrated exclusives that are both revealing and informative. "Raising the Dead" finds special makeup effects designer David Leroy Anderson and other filmmakers discussing the process of creating the frightful zombies, and while "Attack of the Living Dead" may give the impression that it's little more than a zombie-kill montage, it's actually a detailed study of the special effects behind six of the film's most impressive visuals. If viewers are at all curious how the filmmakers get those zombie noggins popping, they need look no further than "Splitting Headaches: Anatomy of Exploding Heads," in which Anderson, Snyder, and crew reveal how they make the head-shots so convincing. A commentary track by Snyder and producer Eric Newman is also involving and entertaining, showcasing not only the director's dedication to the project and sense of humor, but also his love for the original Dawn of the Dead. The two interact playfully throughout the lively track, and in addition to making light of the typical horror logic presented in some points of the film, they also point out scenes that were extended or added to the DVD release and expand on why they think the scenes add to the overall impact of the film. DVD-ROM materials are also accessible.

Better than the Romero version

Well , to say this movie is awesome is an understatement. The way Zack Synder made this film from beginning to end is superb. Being a fan of horror movies and a bigger fan of the Zombie genre, i adore this movie and have watched it at least once a week since its been in the theaters years ago. The time between movie and Dvd release almost killed me. My favorite movie of all time in any genre! I grew up watching the George Romero version and his Night and Day of the Living Dead flicks. Those are great too but I have to tell you, i wish there was a follow up to this movie. Fantastic on all accounts, the plot, the cinamatography, the acting, the dvd extras, funny, scary, dramatic. WOW- watch this! see this! buy this! tell your friends about it! NOW IF YOU WOULD EXCUSE ME I AM GOING TO WATCH IT AGAIN :)

The tremendously stylized serial ode Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow flies to DVD in this Special Collector's Edition from Paramount Home Entertainment. Presented with a stunning anamorphic 1.85:1 widescreen image and Dolby Digital 5.1 sound, the movie has been given a stellar treatment with an enriching picture and engrossing sound that will make you and your home-theater system sweat with joy when you put it in. Those that followed the story of the film will be happy to know that they've included director Kerry Conran's original six-minute short that won him the gig after four years of work putting it together on his home computer. And how is it? Quite incredible, actually. It's basically a shot-for-shot skeleton of the first few minutes of the movie minus dialogue and character interaction. You can see why producer Jon Avnet had such faith in this first-time director, which you can hear the full story behind in Avnet's fantastic audio commentary. While there's a separate commentary from the writer/director Conran and his production designer/brother Kevin (among others in the VFX crew), it's the producer's track that really is the home run here. The filmmaker's commentary is pretty good, though the microphone-shy director is a bit on the dry side and seems more involved with telling the viewer what's real in the shot and what's not. Commentaries aside, there's still plenty more good stuff to be found on this disc, including an incredible two-part documentary on the film that just runs under an hour long. Focusing on the production and the artists who brought this vision to the screen, the behind-the-scenes look is actually quite an inspiring story of underdog success. Also included is "The Art of the World of Tomorrow" featurette, a nine-minute short that chronicles Kevin Conran's involvement in the film and showcases some of his brilliant preproduction art that unfortunately didn't get a gallery of its own for this release. Two deleted scenes await the viewer as well, one of which seems finished while the other gives the viewer an inside look at what the shots in the movie looked like before the graphics and polish were added in. A "gag reel" has also been supplied, as well as a handful of trailers (though none for the actual movie were included). While there will most likely be a more deluxe DVD version coming down the way, this one-disc is a solid release with solid features that really are worth checking out for any fan or casual viewer out there. Also available in the lesser recommended Fullscreen edition.

Hmm, what can i say good about this movie...Sorry still thinking. Visually this movie blows you out of the water, unfortunately it never takes off and i mean never...Don't waste your time. Bad acting and i usually like Jude and Jolie, but please...I should have been paid to watch this. To think i am giving a free review on it! That's only because if you haven't seen it I personally don't want you to waste your time.

Adapted from an awesome video game, though not quite as good as say Resident Evil. Dwayne Johnson does a pretty good job though, his acting his strength which he showcases here is pretty impressive. I expected more from this but i was satisfied in the end.
What's great about it: the fact they made a movie from this awesome game
What's not so great: the feel that you are in game at one point

Starring Steve Guttenberg and Ally Sheedy, the 1986 sci-fi comedy Short Circuit centers on a robot who gains consciousness after being struck by lightning. Guttenberg and Sheedy fall in love while helping the charming robot escape the U.S. government. This bare-bones DVD release offers no bonus features, but treats the film nicely with a widescreen transfer and multiple English soundtracks in Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound and Dolby Digital Stereo. Previously, in 2000, a nicely loaded edition with director commentary and production material was released.

This release of American History X is a testament to the fact that New Line devotes most of its time and efforts to its "platinum series," and while that particular line of releases is among the best to be found, it's an unfortunate side effect that other deserving films such as this one get neglected in the process. Subject matter so volatile and controversial could easily justify an entire second disc's worth of bonus material, yet the only supplements present here are a few deleted scenes (only one of which is truly worthwhile), the theatrical trailer, and cast and crew biographies. What is lacking in the extras department, however, is made up for in the quality of the video presentation. This is the widescreen version of the film, presented in its original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1, and although it hasn't been enhanced anamorphically, it's a beautiful transfer nevertheless. Interestingly, the film is shot on both black-and-white and color film stock, which is difficult to balance properly under any circumstances, but here the two styles are mixed perfectly: the colors are bright, vibrant, and sharply defined, while the black-and-white sections are beautifully shot, with deep, dark, grainless blacks. The quality does justice to the cinematography of Tony Kaye, who also directs. The disc's audio presentation isn't overwhelming due to the generally subdued tone of the film, but the digital 5.1 mix is very nicely balanced, making good use of the center channel to cleanly convey the dialogue while relegating the ambient sounds to the rear channels. Overall, this is another instance where a special edition release is probable at some point in the future, but until that time comes, this disc is a more than adequate presentation of an important, powerful film.

Ed Norton, Ed Furlong, great acting by both. This film takes you to the extreme side of hate. There's not a movie like this anywhere else, and never will be! Great acting, great plot, great ending, great everything. You should have this movie in your collection, if you don't, you need to buy it. 5 stars all the way around.

can I purchase a part for the wii Rockband drum set?

Unfortunately not...There isn't pieces out there for purchase. Sorry to say you gotta buy the whole drum set. Good thing is, they sell the drum set separately and not just a package with mic and guitar. Hope this helps!
