Directed by Nick Cassavetes, this adaptation of author Nicholas Sparks' bestselling novel revolves around Noah Calhoun's (James Garner) regular visits to a female patron (Gena Rowlands) of an area nursing home. Rather than bore her with the inanities of everyday life, Calhoun reads from an old, faded notebook containing the sweeping account of a young couple (Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams) whose love affair was tragically put to a halt after their separation in the midst of World War II. Seven years later, the couple was reunited, and, despite having taken radically different paths, they found themselves unable to resist the call of a second chance. The Notebook also features Joan Allen, Sam Shepard, and Kevin Connolly.

GREAT movie

i am a guy who typically like action flicks, movies on my top list are gladiator, braveheart, 300, 28 days later ect. this movie however is also one of my top movies and remains to be the only movie i have held on to and not gotten rid of at some point in time.
the story is basically about 2 people who fell in love and something splits them up, a few years later they meet again and then have to figure out what to do. without ruining the story it is a great movie with a very good ending. loved it, recommend it. own it.
What's great about it: great moving story

nothing to do with jason

im not sure why they have this titled friday the 13th, it has nothing to do with jason or anything related to what everyone refers to friday the 13th.most stories involve some creepy artifact that has some powers or does something. some are creepy but it isnt worth purchasing, if you have satellite you can still watch these episodes on tv, im not sure about cable.
over all very misleading and has nothing to do with crystal lake or jason, or anything jason touched, or looked at.
if you like stories about curses and wierd antiquities i guess this is for you, if not stay clear.
What's great about it: some stories are creepy
What's not so great: has nothing to do with jason or the friday 13th movies.

if you have never seen the firday the 13th film it is a good horror movie, in my opinion one of the best horror series ever created. it is a great slasher series and i recommend all of parts 1-9, after jason takes manhatten the series went downhill with some outrageous dumb plot lines. i guess they are worth watching to say you watched them but i wouldnt recommend buying any past jason takes manhatten, which was my favorite. looking forward to seeing the remake though
What's great about it: picks up right after the 2nd one

For those who thought director Zack Snyder's remake of George A. Romero's zombie classic packed an impressive punch in theaters, Universal Home Video's DVD release of the unrated director's cut provides even more bloody fun -- in addition to offering some impressive bonus materials that actually serve to enhance the viewing experience. Lovingly presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen, this release of Dawn of the Dead looks fantastic. Not only does the presentation feature colors that are as bold as they are vivid, but it also offers great skin tones, shows little to no signs of edge enhancement, and delivers pitch-black darkness in the nighttime scenes. Dawn of the Dead is a very high-contrast film, and Universal has done a terrific job in faithfully preserving its visual presentation on the small screen. The Dolby Digital 5.1 surround mix likewise does an effective job in keeping viewers ill at ease by means of punchy music cues and eerie directional effects. Additional footage that didn't appear in the theatrical release covers everything from more graphic zombie mayhem to some revealing and endearing character development. Even with such a hearty visual presentation, the reason most viewers will be purchasing this disc is for the generous bonus materials -- and they're not likely to be disappointed. Unlike the sometimes superfluous extras on most over-bloated special edition DVDs, Dawn of the Dead offers some bonus materials that truly draw the viewer in to the experience of the film. "The Lost Tape" of gun store owner Andy (Bruce Bohne) offers a videotaped document of the one of the more appealing but justifiably underdeveloped characters in the film, while "Special Report: Zombie Invasion" offers a faux newscast which covers the epidemic from the first reports to the moment when broadcast television gives way to the Emergency Broadcast System. If the 12-plus minutes of deleted scenes aren't necessarily the "pulse-pounding scenes too terrifying for the final theatrical release!" that the packaging promises, they do offer a few nice scares and some great character development in addition to showing, through the optional commentary, that Snyder has a keen eye for pacing. For those interested in special makeup effects, this release offers a trio of unrated exclusives that are both revealing and informative. "Raising the Dead" finds special makeup effects designer David Leroy Anderson and other filmmakers discussing the process of creating the frightful zombies, and while "Attack of the Living Dead" may give the impression that it's little more than a zombie-kill montage, it's actually a detailed study of the special effects behind six of the film's most impressive visuals. If viewers are at all curious how the filmmakers get those zombie noggins popping, they need look no further than "Splitting Headaches: Anatomy of Exploding Heads," in which Anderson, Snyder, and crew reveal how they make the head-shots so convincing. A commentary track by Snyder and producer Eric Newman is also involving and entertaining, showcasing not only the director's dedication to the project and sense of humor, but also his love for the original Dawn of the Dead. The two interact playfully throughout the lively track, and in addition to making light of the typical horror logic presented in some points of the film, they also point out scenes that were extended or added to the DVD release and expand on why they think the scenes add to the overall impact of the film. DVD-ROM materials are also accessible.

the first zombie scene in this movie is probably the creepiest i have seen in a while. great movie similar to the game "dead rising" over all a great addition to your zombie collection, and this one has a good ending.

if you love zombie movies these are a great purchase. the dawn of the dead reminds me a bit of "dead rising" since they are trapped in a mall, but it is a great movie (dead rising is a video game for wii and xbox 360) these are a great addition to any horror movie fan who loves zombies

My shoulder button on my ds lite stopped working. Can you fix them?

My L and R buttons have stop working. Can bestbuy fix my ds lite and how much will it cost?
here is a link that tells how to fix them and what you will need, also if you call some game stores they may be able to repair them or maybe even bestbuy geeksquad can repair them for you, you would need to call the stores for pricing information though, hope this helps.

In this Sunday's paper , I looked in the Best Buy magazine and it said that you can trade in your ds lite for a dsi xl. Do I still have to pay money?

How much if I do? It said to go to www.bestbuy.com/gametradein but it never said anything about trading it in for a dsi xl.
best buy accepts trades on older electronics. the prices they give you are not that great. you will need to enter the information on the website to get a price, i assure you it wont be that much.

ps3 backward compatibility

is any of the ps3 models backward compatibility
only the older models, when ps3 first came out. i beleive wikipedia has a chart that lists what models were backwards compatable. the new 80 gigs are not, i beleive the older 40 and 60 gigs were the only models with backwards compatability.

ps3 price cut

is there going to be any kind of bundle or price cut coming this year that is less than $400?
as much as romors point to a price cut i highly doubt it will happen, especially since they have had rumors of a price cut for as long as i can remember. also since the whole activision threatening to pull out and the ceo of sony basically stating "how logical is it to lose money on every system sold" a price cut isnt happening any time soon.
if it makes the purchase any easier, when you consider an xbox 360 with a harddrive for 300, a wireless adapter for 99, and a charge kit for the controller for 20 and 60 for an xbox live membership...you are already looking at more than a ps3, and you get blue ray as well, which i dont really care about blue ray. also if you are willing to pay $40 as a one time fee, there is a download where you can do netflix on ps3 along with a few other movie sites. it is called play on and i personally use it and it was worth it.
sorry to say that a price cut isnt coming anytime soon, though i agree it would be nice, then i would buy a second ps3, but i highly doubt it will happen anytime soon.

Call of Duty 3 ?

I am looking for a wwii era war/first person shooter game this looks to be the best(Besides battlefield 1943) is it ? (I am really clueless)
call of duty world at war is a WW era game, it features countries like the US/japan (which you play the us), and russian/germain (which you play russia) campains. the online multiplayer is great. i havent played 1943 yet, so i wouldnt know what it is like though i know it is multiplayer only.
hope this answers your questions, and if you decide to purchase this game, look forward to seeing you on the field.

Play Station Store ?

I am looking in to getting a PS3, what is play station store and how does it work? (how do i put in money?)
the playstation store is where you can purchase themes, games, add-on content, rent/purchase movies and watch videos/tv shows. you have to either purchase a playstation network card in various amounts, or use a credit/debit card to add funds. you get the option to add funds when you add something to your cart and confirm the check out, then it will ask you to add funds.

can i buy trade in games from best buy that have been traded in buy customers ?

at this time i dont think best buy has started to sell used games yet. i know they have kiosk's in dallas and austin that purchase used games. it is something recent to my knowledge, and i work in bestbuys call center, so far there is no word on when they will sell the games to customers..or exactly what they are doing with the games so far for that matter. granted i am no one big in the company but asking around no one has heard anything as of yet.

corrupted data

my ps3 says the data is corrupted what can i do to fix it? i start games then they freeze help!!!
it sounds like you have either downloaded a bad file, turned the game off when it was saving, or got a virus from browsing the internet. my suggestion would be to wipe the hard drive and start over. Simply remove the hard drive from your PS3, and turn on the console. It should display a screen saying the hard drive will need to be reformatted. Then, plug the hard drive back into your PS3, and allow it to reformat. Your save game data will be erased but the system should work again, also here is a link to the same solution but worded differently. http://www.xomba.com/ps3_help_froze_up_ps3_hard_drive_reformat

In-camera cropping and rechargeable batteries?

I want to buy a digital camera $200 or less. it needs to have in-camera cropping and more than 7 megapixels. aslo, i would prefer for it to be 4x or more optical zoom and can record sound. i know its kind of specific, sorry about that
you are lucky. the perfect camera that fits that description is 1) commonly found in all best buy stores, 2) the highest rated camera on our website and highly rated on sites like cnet, and other sites. i did about 5 months of reasearch to find the perfect camera for my fiance, but i cant afford the price of a tv or car for a camera. the item i came up with is a canon PowerShot 10.0-Megapixel Digital ELPH Camera - Silver . the sku number for the item is 8800577. if you place those numbers in the search for box in bestbuys website it will take you straight to the item.
i personally bought this camera after researching and also wrote a review on it as well, it should be on the site under the item with in 72 hours. it is perfect for the price (200). you wont regret it and it has all the features you are looking for.
