Just upgraded to the portable and it's mazing, since my wife forgets to recharge the battery all the time I decided to get a new one. note: I love BBQing with my music, so I need the battery.
money was not a problem, because I got it as a present. But lloking at the price, hmmm, I would say I would have never bought it.
Battery life is great, you can listen to your music at high volumes for hours, and yesterday I noticed that it charges the ipod while using the battery, awesome.

I wanted to get the Bose QC3s for sometime now,[...] I just liked the supra-aural style better than the original Triport headphones. I was hoping that Bose would come out with a non-noise cancelling version of the QC3, and these are it! As soon as I learned that Bose had released these headphones, I quickly placed the order for them.
I got these last week and have been listening to music like crazy with them, both on my computer and on my iPod. These phones are not noise-cancelling models, but they still block out a noticeable amount of noise. You can wear these in a room and block out the noise of cars outside, the A/C, etc, while still being able to hear someone speak to you. I think these would work ok on a flight, but definitely not the best; that's what the QCs are designed for. I'm no audiophile and the only time I've ever tried Bose headphones before these were the demo Triports and QC2s at the Apple Store, so I can't say anymore about the sound than that it is terrific. It definitely is a balanced sound, with the bass at a perfect level and not too-overpowering. The trebles also come out pretty clear too. I was pleased with the sound over my old Sony EX-81 earbuds, which have a muddy and hissy sound compared to these. The bad thing about the sound quality is it really emphasizes how badly compressed some of my mp3s have become, which may not be a good thing if you don't have the original CDs for some of your music. I would give the sound quality five stars, but I warn you again that I'm no audiophile.
The fit of the headphones takes some getting used to, as Bose's design is quite unique. These phones are on-ear being that they are designed to be worn like those cheap headphones that you would get with your walkmans and portable CD players back in the days before mp3 players. However, Bose put cushioned leatherette pads which conform to the shape of your ear; when you put them on, you need to allow several seconds for the pads to adjust and form the perfect fit for you. Once this is done, you are all set to go. The phones do not press on you ears hard; I think they are very gentle and should be good for prolonged use without having to take them off once in awhile. I also wear eyeglasses, and the cups definitely don't press down hard on my glasses. I would give fit 4 1/2 stars.
These headphones come with a semi-hard zipper case similar to what is included with the QC models. The case is nicely padded on the inside and is custom-designed to hold the headphones when folded. There is a little mesh like pocket on the back of the case which can probably hold an iPod nano comfortably, though not a video iPod. Two cords are included: a short cord if you are plugging the phones into a wired remote control, like the iPod radio remote or similar; as well as a long standard sized cord. The cord attaches to only one cup and is detachable, so you don't have to worry about tangles. I would give the features and extras 5 stars.
And now the big con: build quality. I've read the reviews about other Bose headphones having poor-quality headbands which snapped after several months of use. Having tried the original Triports and the QC2s, I don't think Bose made much of an adjustment on strengthening the band of this model. Well, the band is definitely much stronger than the Triport, which has a thin, flimsly and skinny metal band wrapped in cloth, similar again to the cheap walkman headphones of the 90s. The on-ear's headband is very much like the QC3s: thicker than the original Triport, slightly more durable and covered in both leather and cloth. However, I still feel like after a few months these could break easily, just like people have experienced with the QC3s (and even QC2s). They do feel kind of stiff and I'm afraid already that if I pull the cups too far apart that the band would snap instantly and without warning. Therefore, I have to give the build quality 2 1/2 stars.
So my final verdict: I think these are a great design. They fit very well without any alterations or "custom fit kits" like those needed on premium earbuds. They have great sound, which I would expect for a pair of Bose phones. However, I'm not pleased with the build quality. I feel like I have to be patient and move slowly when handling the phones for fear of breaking them; not how I would act for the average pair of headphones. I am only in the 2nd week of my 30-day trial, so I'm going to see how this works out. But I am fearful of breaking a wonderful yet expensive and fragile piece. I'll update this review if I do decide to return this at the end of the 30 day trial. Overall, I'll give these headphones 4 stars. The sound and fit quality are impressive, and the bundled extras plentiful.[...]

Even in it's eleventh season, South Park manages to still be the funniest animated show on TV today. Proof of that statement can be seen in the opening episode, appropriately titled "With Apologies to Jesse Jackson", in which Stan's dad Randy goes on Wheel of Fortune, and gets the wrong idea. If you've never seen this episode before and are easily offended, well, I suggest you don't watch it. For the rest of us though, this episode is worth the price of admission alone. Not to mention the simply brilliant "Imaginationland" trilogy of episodes, as well as the very funny "Cartman S@#$%" and "Lice Capades"; which once again find creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker not only pushing limits, but obliterating them. Matt and Trey also have a fine time spoofing things as well, including 24 with "The Snuke", zombies with "Night of the Living Homeless", Bono's work (and their Emmy win) with "More Cr@p", 300 with "D-Yikes!", and the mega-popular Guitar Hero with "Guitar Qu@er-o". The season really reaches one of it's best moments with "Le Petit Tourette", which finds Cartman faking having Tourette's syndrome. While season closing episodes "Guitar Queer-o" and "The List" aren't anything too special, the season as a whole is still another winning and ungodly funny season of the long running show. All in all, South Park continues to raise the bar for hysterical offensiveness, and we should all definitely be glad that it does, and hasn't become a stagnant shell of it's former self like another long running prime time animated series that will remain nameless.
What's great about it: funny
What's not so great: sometimes is offensive, but is good

As part of the Franchise Collection, the Problem Child Tantrum Pack comes to DVD from Universal Studios Home Video. This two-disc box set contains the comedies Problem Child (1990) and Problem Child 2 (1991). Each film is presented with a standard full-frame transfer and Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround sound in English. Subtitles are available in French and Spanish. The only special features are theatrical trailers and a French-dubbed language track for the first movie.

Problem Child Tantrum Pack.
This review is strictly for this collection, and not the movies themselves. If you want to see my reviews for the actual films, I've done that on the items' respective pages.
The Problem Child Tantrum Pack combines the first two films in the Problem Child series, in a single-disc collection. Both films feature a fullscreen presentation and the respective trailers.
I've always been a fan of the Problem Child movies. From my childhood right up to the present days, these have always been laugh-out-loud films that never failed to please me. With the advent of DVDs, an obvious good idea was to combine the films in the series onto a single DVD.
It's a good idea, but the execution of it here is horrible.
First of all, both movies are presented in a cropped fullscreen presentation. Why couldn't they present the films in their original aspect ratio? Or honestly, would it be that hard to just give the viewer a choice of widescreen/fullscreen? If you're going to release a DVD as fullscreen, fine. But release a widescreen one too, so cinemaphiles can view the films as the directors intended. In the age of DVDs, there's no excuse for a package like this to be fullscreen only.
The image quality is also low. There are pops and hisses in the picture everywhere, throughout both films. Could the company have at least made some effort to clean things up? Even a little bit of remastering could have gone a long way here.
Next of all, the set only has the first two films, and lacks the made-for-TV third film. I admit, the third installment is the weak link in the series, and pales in comparison to the first two. But it IS part of the Problem Child series, and as such, does belong here. British Region 2 releases DO include the third film, so if you're going to get this collection and you have a multi-region DVD player, import the British release.
Another huge flaw is the lack of bonus features. I admit, even the sold-separately release of the original Problem Child on DVD suffered from this same problem. But even that DVD at least included filmographies and some information on the making of the film. Would it have killed them to include that stuff here?
But the biggest flaw of the entire collection: THE DELETED SCENES FROM THE TELEVISION AIRINGS ARE NOT INCLUDED. This was it, the perfect Problem Child collection - or at least it was supposed to be. How could they not include these!? I've been waiting for a home video release with these scenes, but so far no luck. I won't go into detail describing them here, scene-by-scene, but I am extremely disappointed these weren't included.
I'm as big a fan of the Problem Child series as you'll ever meet. But this is a lackluster, slapped-together collection that doesn't do the series justice. Maybe someday a perfect collection will be released, with all three films, bonus features, and the deleted scenes. But in the meantime, if you must get this set, import the British version so you can get all three films (if you have a multi-region player, that is.) This is a great film series - and it deserves a better collection.
Thumbs up for the movies, thumbs down for this collection.

great quality, great sound

After reading MANY reviews, both here on BB and on many other sites on the Internet, I have observed that most people either love Bose and everything they make or they seem to hate everything that is Bose. Well I can honestly say that I do not fit into either of these categories. I do own some Bose products and I enjoy them very much. However, Bose items are extremely expensive and I will not pay out that kind of hard earned cash for a product just because of the name. I have learned, when it comes to Bose I ALWAYS insist on listening to the device first before buying it. I have heard some excellent sound from some Bose speakers but some of their speakers are only mediocre. Their headphones are a mixed bag as well. I never purchase a Bose product unseen or unheard. My decision to purchase this second generation Bose SoundDock Portable Digital Music System was no exception.
I was on the fence about this purchase for several weeks. I had researched the first generation Bose SoundDock digital music system for iPod for quite some time. I found a couple of shortcomings that prevented me from buying that unit. First, it did not have a battery for portable use, so you always had to have it plugged in. Secondly it did not have an aux input, so it would only work with Apple iPod devices. What if I wanted to plug in my daughter's Sandisk MP3 player, or my son's Creative MP3 player? The second generation Bose SoundDock does not have these limitations. They have included a battery system, for hours of portable music without being tethered to A/C mains. They also include an aux input, so you can plug in any device's audio output with a stereo mini plug. They also added a slick swivel dock, which swings back into the speaker system when not in use. As far as the sound quality goes, both first and second generation systems seem to sound just as good; solid bottom end, crisp top end, and mild yet adequate midrange.
I was tempted to order this item from BB, as their prices, shipping, and customer service are always top notch. However, I was still a little unsure as to whether or not I would be completely satisfied with this product in my home. After all, it is $400.00! I decided to purchase it from a local BB electronics store, which offers a 45 day return policy (i am a silver member), in case I decided that it was not worth the price after listening to it in my home. Well I am pleased to report that this Bose SoundDock sounds simply amazing. I don't know how they get such BIG sound from such a little device, but Bose has definately done a wonderful thing with this SoundDock. The sound is deep but not too boomy. The stereo soundfield is a little narrow but that is to be expected from any portable sound dock, as the speakers are so close together. Still, Bose is known for their ability to use angled speaker technology to offer a wide stereo sound. I guess they just didn't feel that this aspect was important enough for their SoundDock product. That is a shame. I must also note that the sound produced from this device seems different when listening from different angles. If I sit the device on a table and sit down right in front of it, the high end is crisp and bright but the lower end is a little on the weak side. However, if I back up a few feet the bottom end really jumps out, and yet you lose a little bit of the crispness of the highs. Overall the SoundDock sounds great and it really fills a small and medium sized room with full bodied sound. You can crank this puppy way up without any audible sounds of distortion. Very impressive indeed. I have listened to Pop, Rock, Country, Dance, House, and even classical music on the Bose SoundDock, and all sounded equally impressive. Bass notes are very tight, not boomy or sloppy like I have experienced on several other iPod music systems. My only complaint is that the midrange seemed a bit weak on a few tracks, but seemed just fine on others. This may have to do with the equalization of my iPod Touch, but I don't notice these differences when listening through headphones.
Overall I am very pleased with my Bose SoundDock Portable Music System. It produces rich, room filling sound, offers perfect portability (thanks to the inclussion of a Lithium Ion Battery Pack), and has an auxiliary input for all of my family's digital music devices. Sure, $400.00 is a lot of money to spend on a portable iPod music docking system, but now that I have experienced the solid build and beautiful sound quality of the Bose SoundDock, buying anything less would always leave me wanting the Bose SoundDock. Still, I cannot find it within myself to give the Bose SoundDock a perfect 5 star rating. The narrow stereo soundfield and premium cost keep my rating at 4 and 1/2 stars. I take music sound quality very seriously, and in my opinion this Bose system, while expensive, is still worth the money. I highly recommend this product for anyone that is extremely serious about excellent sound quality and isn't afraid to spend the money to obtain it.
pd: just got a samsung LCD, but sound was horrible, so instead of investing in a new home theater, just purchased the AV/AUX cable, so I hooked it up to my tv, and VOILA! BOSE RICH SOUND for my bedroom LCD, for 400 bucks!!! and I got everithing from BB of course

What characteristics make a speaker a good and powerful one?

I need a small but powerful external speaker for my laptop.
When bass is strong and the sound does not get distorted with high volume. when highs and lows are noticeable makes the musical experience more pleasant.
Materials are important...if the speaker looks made out of cheap plastic, of course the sound is going to be cheap also

Where can I get my camera fixed?

My camera fell on the floor, and its kind of broken. The zoom lense wont go in or move at all, even when i close it.
normal warranties won't cover this type of accident (or any other), but few extended warrantied do. So if you have an extended warraty, specially from BB, then you can go and ask. they honored one of my extended warraties once, by just replacing the product, that is the reason why I get all my guilty pleasures at BB. If you don't the you should reconsider purchasing a new camera and buy a good carrying case this time around.
pd: normally fixing an electronic such as this one, is more expensive that just replacing it (getting a new one), since this producs are the result of mass production, then materials are cheaper when sold to the manufacturer and builder. So getting a piece of replacement specifically for YOU is going to be RIDICULOSLY expensive.

what is SLR short for?

The single-lens reflex (SLR) camera uses an automatic moving mirror system which permits the photographer to see exactly what will be captured by the film or digital imaging system, as opposed to non-SLR cameras where the view through the viewfinder could be significantly different from what was captured on film.
