oblivion fans will have a lot to do here

maybe you would argue that this is just "Oblivion with guns", but this "Oblivion with guns" has more to offer than just "Oblivion with guns", it has a massive story(according the guide i received today, after you completed the game you got tons to do), also the SPECIAL is back! Pipboy is back, i cant help crying after i creating my character and seeing a whole new wasteland, which is far more detailed than the game I played 10 years ago. Maybe you would argue again, Bethesda is incapable of doing top-notch black humor like Black Isle, but the feels of exploring the wasteland is back, here I listed a few pros and cons

get ready to rumble, even with ps2 games

was already extremely happy with the Sixaxis controller, but I could not resist getting the DualShock 3. Not only do you get the rumble, but also, it feels much better in your hands, even for those games that do not use this feature. The rumble function is fun, but on top of that, it helps with gameplay, because "feeling" what is happening provides a lot more feedback than just watching how your character or car reacts to the environment.
The biggest surprise of all was that the rumble works with PS 2 games in the PS 3 system. I am currently playing through "God of War", a game which had the rumble capability in PS 2. I thought that it was unlikely that I was going to get this feature with this new controller in the PS 3, but it worked perfectly.
I know that having to buy a new controller and basically discard the one that came with the system is not the ideal situation, but I have to say this product is really worth shedding the extra bucks.
What's not so great: a little bit heavier

Let me share with you what the gods shared with me. Ultimately, pain and suffering is all mankind will ever know. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is a great addition to this historical trilogy ... the Indiana Jones films are some of the best works ever produced. Crystal Skull begins ten years after the infamous crash landing at Roswell New Mexico on a military base in Nevada. Doctor Jones is forced by Soviet agents to locate the remains of the alien that crashed on that fateful night in hangar number 51. The crate he is looking for is highly magnetized so this produces an opportunity for Indy to not only find the remains, but to rid the Soviets of their weapons.
After finding the crate the scene is set for Indy's big escape. (Bet you didn't see that coming) Indy's first attempt at freedom is thwarted by a-a well, I won't say but this leads up to a more exciting and Houdini like exit from Hangar 51. (I did not notice, but was told the Ark of the Covenant can be seen during Indy's escape.) Alright, Indy escaped the Russians (was there any doubt?) But now he's found himself in an atomic bomb testing town mere seconds before a bomb is to be dropped. Wowsers! How will Indiana survive this? Indiana returns to find out he is under FBI investigation because his friend is a Soviet agent. First he tried to kill Indy now he betray's his country.
Staying true to the Indiana films, Doctor Jones returns to Marshall University, where he is offered a leave of absence to avoid being fired because of the investigation. Here is when we meet Mutt Williams (Shia LaBeouf) star of 2007 blockbuster Transformers Transformers Mutt tells Indy that his old friend has disapperred after discovering the crystal skull outside of Peru. So, like Carmen San Diego, we are off to Peru. Upon discovering that Harry Oxley was placed in a Peruvian jail and then kidnapped by the Russians, Indiana discovers clues to the whereabouts of Francisco de Orellana's grave, a Conquistador who vanished in the fifteen hundreds looking for El Dorado--the fabled city of gold.
Indy and Mutt, guided by clues only the gods can see, discover the crystal skull in Orellana's grave. I will leave it there for those who haven't seen this spectacular addition to the Indiana Jones' lineup. Some say that George Lucas should have left this series alone. I say Thank you George Lucas for giving us another wonderful film, and for staying faithful to the original trilogy. If you love Indiana Jones, you'll love this film. And if you didn't, well ... not everyone has good taste.

fun for the whole family

I have been a long time Guitar Hero (GH) player. And after playing Rock Band 1 a few months ago, I found it fun but hard to strum the notes as easily as I can with GH.
Recently I was playing the new Rock Band 2 (RB2) guitar at my local electronics store and fell in love with the wood burst body and wood paneled neck. So I placed my pre-order and received it today....
I am in love. I love the sturdy and non-clicky strum bar (I HATED the "click-click" sound of the GH strum). The frets give off some noise but not that bad. They feel good but are harder to keep your place as easily as GH. The feel of the guitar is nice and feels like quality in your lap or hanging from your shoulder. The nice sleek lines of the guitar is even nicer to look at when you're not playing. The whammy is nearly identical to the whammy bar of GH but a bit longer. The start button is nicely recessed and the PS3 button and connect button are nicely designed.
I was really relieved to see that the standalone RB2 guitar is in fact the wood burst body design and NOT the black RB2 guitar that is included in the RB2 bundle. I am extremely pleased and I have officially crossed over from GH to RB. The guitar looks like a real Fender Strat and after owning this guitar, GH guitars look like cheap 5-year old toys.

funny, for a couple of hours

Pros
- Good story and voice acting
- The visuals are magnificent- I found my self looking outside of Cloud City rather than killing stormtroopers at one point
- When you fight a jedi boss the game switches to a wide-angle pulled-back cinematic camera reminiscent of the duel between Dokku, Obiwan and Anakin in Revenge of the Sith. This is one of the best ways I've seen of taking advantage of the HD screen format and resolution. When you Force push your enemy across the room it really does remind you a lot of the movies.
- Sound track is good- some new themes and old themes are enhanced.
- Even though NPCs appear to have the ability to block your force powers or lightsaber blows, each one of them has a particular weakness you can exploit - so it's not really a problem

Considering I've been waiting since Jedi Academy for another Star Wars game, and the fact that the average budget for a video game is over $40 Million, spending $60 on a decent Star Wars game seems like a bargain to me. I have no complaints.
Comparison to the Wii version:
- Wii version uses canned Star Wars musical score. Reminds you of playing the old Jedi Power Battles game.
- Wii controls are quite well thought out and does make Force wielding fun.
- But over time the Wii interaction does tend to get fatiguing.
- The visuals between the Wii and PS3 are night and day- including the cutscenes which are rendered using the in-game engine. The Wii's visuals just look really dated/primitive compared to the PS3's. E.g. on the first mission on Kassyk, if you look at what's happening in the background on the PS3, there are stormtroopers on a beach-head in the distance slowly advancing, and shooting and then dying. It's gratuitous but it's beautifully done. None of this made it to the Wii. Of course this is understandable since the Wii is a less capable system.
- Wii provides additional game levels not provided in the PS3 game.
- The Duel Mode on the Wii can only be played with another player, rather than with an AI- too bad.
- Wii controls are quite well thought out and does make Force wielding fun.

If you own both the PS3 and Wii, I recommend buying the PS3 version and maybe the Wii version when it goes on sale. TFU is visually the most stunning Star Wars title to-date and missing the opportunity to experience it's full visual splendor would be a shame.

There was a big question mark looming over the theatrical adaptation of Marvel's Iron Man property. It was in the guise of director Jon Favreau. Now, don't get me wrong, I love the Favs, but when I heard he was helming a big budget comic book flick...let's just say I was a little worried. Once his cast was set and the fanboys started humming across the internet I started to ease into the decision with high anticipation. Thankfully, after finally seeing the finished product, I was not disappointed in the least. With a great mix of the professionalism and stakes seen in both Spider-Man and X-Men and the comic wit and sheer fun of Fantastic Four, Iron Man shows how a comic can be brought to the screen successfully without all the added drama and weight. We finally have a film with the essence of what makes these picture books so popular, the action and mythology along with a sense of adventure and humor. Favreau never bogs us down with overwrought emotions nor speaks down to us with gags and poorly written jokes. Instead he delivers on his promises and gives us a solid initiation into what could be a great trilogy or more.
Favreau seems to have had an idea to get an origin story out while not boring us with long drawn out back story. His ability to give us dual information at once is nicely orchestrated, showing Tony Stark in his basement creating while the TV in the background explains what is happening in the outside world of the Middle East and inside his own company. We as an audience are allowed to put the pieces together amidst the witty banter of Stark and the wonderful special effects. By the end of the film it is quite amazing how much information you will realize you now know, all culminating in a decent final battle, but more importantly a segue into the inevitable sequel. We are allowed entrance into the character evolution of Stark as he goes from war profiteer to man of action and cause, all while seeing the technology improve and advance before our eyes. Much like Batman, we have a hero here that needs help in fighting crime. He has no superhuman abilities besides his brain and being able to see his thoughts go from paper to reality is a feat of magic. Every stage is shown, every failure and success. It's quite the ride in and of itself, but when you add onto it the threat of global war and destruction, it can only get better.
The real success here is in the bold move of casting an actor over-40 to be a superhero. This takes guts, because no matter how appropriate it is, most studios would have said, "no, change the story and make him younger so we can churn out as many of these babies as we can." I don't know how he did it, but Favreau got Marvel to get Robert Downey Jr. to play Stark, a sarcastic Lothario with the brain capacity of Einstein. I truly can't think of anyone better suited to the role and he proves it by nailing every single scene. I'm sure there was some ad-libbing, but even if not, his comic delivery and ability to switch on a dime to a sincere seriousness at will shows his masterful craft.
As for the rest of the cast, they all do well. Jeff Bridges plays the bombastic creature of villainy over-the-top, but appropriately so; Terrence Howard is nice as the friend and military liaison, not given much to do, but definitely sowing seeds for the future; and Gwyneth Paltrow is good as the sweet assistant Pepper Potts who at times seems a little underwritten and more female prop than anything else, but comes through with some nice moments in a very comic sort of way. I also really liked Shaun Toub as Yinsen, Stark's savior, and Clark Gregg as the head of S.H.I.E.L.D. Good to see Favreau giving another actor turned director props, (Gregg's directorial debut comes out later this year in the form of Chuck Palahniuk's Choke). I just wish he would have shied away from putting himself in the film. It's one thing to be seen split-second, (like Stan Lee), but its another to give yourself a thankless role with multiple scenes, just adding fuel to the fire on people's opinions of egotism stemming from the drinking game created off of the TV show "Dinner for Five" and how many references to Swingers was made each episode. I'll forgive, though, because, once again, I'm a big fan.
One can't forget that this is an action film above all else, so we can't just praise the actors; every effect is also quite brilliant. Those scenes of Iron Man flying amongst fighter jets in the trailer seemed really lame, but when in context they deliver. The suit itself is amazing as well, through every mach stage right to the end. My main highlight, however, was with the computer systems that Stark utilizes. The multiple screens, instant holographic reproductions, and ability to actually interact with those 3D representations is stunning. We can create them in fantasy, but it's just too bad we can't yet in real life.
Now Iron Man is not a perfect film, nor even a perfect comic book adaptation. What it is, though, is a fun, comic actioner that should light up the box office. The final showdown is a bit of a whimper in comparison to the back story and machine creation; a crucial element is saved from destruction in the one contrived bit of screen writing, (not quite utilized in the way I thought, although still for the same means); and some moments seem a tad campy rather than witty, but otherwise this is some topnotch cinema that should definitely be seen on the big screen. I can't wait to see how the story progresses in a couple years.

excellent addition to my laptop

I agree with the others that these are far beyond your every day computer speakers. I am getting clean clean sounds and an excellent balance.
I was able to adjust the sound to my specifications with the awesome sound software on my computer. Now, I am finally glad I paid more for an upgraded sound system when I purchased this computer! I was certainly not benefiting from it with my plain old cheapy computer speakers.
I really enjoy having the headphone jack on the front of the speaker too.
These speakers are nice and heavy...not all plastic like most of the ones I've had in the past. The box, as shipped, weighed 8lbs.
I could not be more pleased with the Bose Companion 2 Series II speakers!

great product, high sony quality

I am pretty pleased with this purchase. My only criticism is that is does not pick up too much distance. I purchased this recorder through Amazon to record my college classes. Luckily, I am able to record without a microphone, but I have to sit close to the professor and can't hear students on the other side of the classroom. I listen to it through my computer so it is easier for me to hear. If you are going to record more than 15 feet away from the source, consider getting an external microphone.
Now for the things I like. 1.) It's small, light, and easy to carry around. 2.) It's very easy to use. 3.) You can plug earphones right into the recorder if you want to listen it to right away. 4.) The best thing is that you can plug it right into your computer and treats it like an MP3 file so you can do whatever you want with it on your computer. No software to download; it's instant. 5.) It's Mac compatible, which I have not tested yet. 6.) It's just cool looking.
Overall, if you don't have to recorder from more than 15-20 feet away, I would recommend this product.

the same but better lloking

I finally upgraded to Vista and it was a long time coming. I must admit for the longest time I felt envious of people who were operating on a system newer than mine, but I also felt secretly satisfied that XP was more secure and faster. No eye candy though. However, as both a Mac and a PC user, I had all the eye candy one would want with Leopard and it doesn't slow anything down.
What I don't understand is why Vista has to come in so many editions:
Windows Vista Home Basic
Windows Vista Home Premium
Windows Vista Business
Windows Vista Ultimate
Plus all the upgrade versions. Why not just one version that does it all, you know, the way they do it in the Mac world.
Okay, all that aside, I have two PCs, both desktops, one at work (which is actually mine, not my employers) and one at home. At work I installed Home Premium and at home I installed Vista Ultimate. I didn't time the installation in either place as I was doing other stuff during the process, but neither install took more than an hour.
I did not do clean installs in either case, instead opting for the upgrade option, just to see if it worked. Besides, I have lots of back up hard drives so I wasn't worried and it appears I didn't need to, because both installs went swimmingly. I understand others have not been so lucky, but I was.

Right off the bat I have to say, I like the Aero interface. Is it better than Leopard's, not really, but it's not worse either, just different. I've got four gigs of ram in both computers and though maybe Vista might have been a tad slower doing some photoshop work than XP, it wasn't all that noticeable. Some things may have been a bit slower opening, but not enough to make me miss XP. All in all, I have to say I'm okay with Vista.
What I don't understand is why Vista has to come in so many editions:
Windows Vista Home Basic
Windows Vista Home Premium
Windows Vista Business
Windows Vista Ultimate
Plus all the upgrade versions. Why not just one version that does it all, you know, the way they do it in the Mac world.
Okay, all that aside, I have two PCs, both desktops, one at work (which is actually mine, not my employers) and one at home. At work I installed Home Premium and at home I installed Vista Ultimate. I didn't time the installation in either place as I was doing other stuff during the process, but neither install took more than an hour.
I did not do clean installs in either case, instead opting for the upgrade option, just to see if it worked. Besides, I have lots of back up hard drives so I wasn't worried and it appears I didn't need to, because both installs went swimmingly. I understand others have not been so lucky, but I was.

My wife is a big fan of this series, and as a matter of fact the movie. We preorder the dvd, but I'am thinking on returning it and getting the BD, since my wife has not opened her present yet.
What's great about it: my wyfe loves them
What's not so great: acting, they're old

What characteristics make a speaker a good and powerful one?
I need a small but powerful external speaker for my laptop.
When bass is strong and the sound does not get distorted with high volume. when highs and lows are noticeable makes the musical experience more pleasant.
Materials are important...if the speaker looks made out of cheap plastic, of course the sound is going to be cheap also

Where can I get my camera fixed?
My camera fell on the floor, and its kind of broken. The zoom lense wont go in or move at all, even when i close it.
normal warranties won't cover this type of accident (or any other), but few extended warrantied do. So if you have an extended warraty, specially from BB, then you can go and ask. they honored one of my extended warraties once, by just replacing the product, that is the reason why I get all my guilty pleasures at BB. If you don't the you should reconsider purchasing a new camera and buy a good carrying case this time around.
pd: normally fixing an electronic such as this one, is more expensive that just replacing it (getting a new one), since this producs are the result of mass production, then materials are cheaper when sold to the manufacturer and builder. So getting a piece of replacement specifically for YOU is going to be RIDICULOSLY expensive.

what is SLR short for?
The single-lens reflex (SLR) camera uses an automatic moving mirror system which permits the photographer to see exactly what will be captured by the film or digital imaging system, as opposed to non-SLR cameras where the view through the viewfinder could be significantly different from what was captured on film.
