I was pretty apprehensive about this title, as every James Bond game after GOLDENEYE was an embarrassment. But QUANTUM reclaims the power of playing as Bond and does it with class. Great graphics, including an incredible 007 model that looks exactly like Daniel Craig. The locations are excellent with a lot of variety.
But most importantly the game is a blast. The gunbattles are intense, heightened by great sound design and music. The Bond gaming experience has never been so immersive. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

really great, not what I expected at all

Before I watched this film, I read the reviews of the press and most of them weren't great. I am unfortunately one of those guys who will put himself off watching it because of those bad reviews. I'm gutted I did as this film was simply the personification of brilliance from start to finish. It's slick, stylish and downright comic excellence. Even for a film like this, the special effect and general action would put even James Bond to shame. It's exciting, quite emotional at times, cool at others and just downright silly at the times that are left.
Steve Carell plays Maxwell Smart, a secret agent who desperately wants to get on the field. The government agency he works for known only as CONTROL are infiltrated by an evil agency known as KAOS which compromises the identities of all the current field agents. So in order to battle this force and still stay a secret, the chief of CONTROL puts smart on the field and assigns him the title of agent 86 partnering him with the much more experienced Agent 99 (Anne Hathaway). Max looks up to his close friend and one of the best agents on the field, Agent 23 (Dwayne Johnson). He is the James Bond of CONTROL and it's no surprise that Max wants to be so much like him.
This is just a really light hearted and fast paced film. I guess it could just be labelled a comedy, but that would just ignore the other great aspects of the film. The action is done really well and isn't the tacky type comedy we have come to associate comedy movies when they feature action. Some of the sequences are genuinely unique and truly edge of your seat. The chemistry between Hathaway and Carell is great and one scene in particular expresses the comedic chemistry between the two. The laser room scene which is somewhat of a cliché for spy movies is superb in this.
Carell is the usual silly guy we have come to know and love, his ridiculous expressions and perfected comic timing are all present. It's also very pleasant to see the wonderful Anne Hathaway in a leading role where she isn't the damzel in distress, or the naive teenager. The Bill Murray cameo is also something quite special as agent 13, he's only there for a moment and has about three lines but it's always great to see Bill Murray on our screens. It also seems quite a wrestler fest as well, obviously with the inclusion of Dwayne Johnson as agent 23 but also WWEs The Great Khali as the cliché middle eastern, giant bad guy. Johnson doesn't take his character too seriously, which is something he always manages to shine in playing but manages to pull out the acting stops when he has to enter into the action man role.
An awesome movie all round and is definitely worth it just for the sky diving scene and the laser room.

Fun not necesarily better than GOW1

I have played the game since last night (yes, I was fortunate to have it a bit ahead or official release) so I cannot make a full comment about it.
Anyway, the game plays and feels just like the first one, this means that you get all the same fun. There are new weapons and enemies added and this adds a bit of freshness. Also, the AI for the enemies has improved in some areas, for example, they can now heal each other just as COG's can. I really like that. On the other hand, I know they are supposed to be smarter but they do not seem too much, just in some cases I could notice that they were not that dumb but it is hard to tell.
Overall, it feels more like playing an expansion to GOW 1 than a new game, usually expansion packs offer innovations and additions to game play besides extra play time. This is exactly what GOW 2 feels like.
It is still very fun to play and was exactly what I was looking for. Perhaps as the story evolves it may really feel as a new game rather than an expansion. This is why I gave it 4 stars overall but 5 to fun.
To the person who said you cannot invite a friend to play with you online, she must learn to read the manual and also check the menus. Perhaps she's doing something wrong becase as far as I know the support is there.

The captain of the East High basketball team and the key member of the academic club shock the student body by teaming to audition for the upcoming school musical in a Disney Channel Original Movie that's all about being yourself and following your dreams. Troy (Zac Efron) is best known as the player who keeps the East High basketball team on the scoreboard. Of course, life isn't always about athletics, though, and as Troy slam dunks on the boards, beautiful and brainy Gabriella (Vanessa Anne Hudgens) is raising the reputation of East High as the key member of the school's successful academic team. Despite their outgoing natures, no one would ever peg Troy and Gabriella as theater types. When word gets out that this popular pair has secretly chosen to reach for the stars and try their luck on the stage, the students of East High are about to learn an important lesson in teamwork while gearing up for a musical performance that will have their audience dancing in the aisles.

a great movie for kids and kareoke parties!!!

I'm a 40 year old adult and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this movie. And I'm not afraid to admit it that I"ve seen this over 6 times with and without my kids. I've taped the show and have had Korokee parties with my kids along with my friends kids. I'm still going to buy the DVD when it comes out, I'm so crazy about this movie. It brings back memories when we all went crazy over a similar movie, GREASE, when we were young.
when I first saw the commercials, I knew that this movie was going to be an "extreme" hit and could not believe our luck that we didn't have to go to the theaters to see it. I was counting the days until premiere day. The dancing, the singing, the music, the storylines, the total package was such a joy to watch. I've also bought the sound track and as another customer has written, it brings a smile and a wonderful feeling when I hear the music.

final soundtrack does not dissapoint

After the tremendous success of the first two High School Musicals, it was inevitable that a third one would come along as well. Making its debut in theaters, High School Musical 3: Senior Year is grander than ever, and it shows not only on the big screen but on the soundtrack as well.
Each song represents some of the typical events that would occur during a high school senior's year: a championship basketball game (Now or Never), prom (A Night to Remember), budding romances (Right Here, Right Now; Just Wanna Be With You), student musicals (Senior Year Spring Musical Medley), and finally, graduation (We're All in This Together). It's a timeline of how most seniors spend their last year in high school. It will probably bring back memories for parents and show children what to look forward to as they get older.
The songs this time around all sound ready for the big screen, and you can really tell by some of the orchestrations. Yes, it is meant to be pop music for pre-teens but if you listen you can hear the amount of thought put into some of the songs (pay attention to the violin arrangement during Can I Have This Dance). Of course they are still all fun and done in typical HSM fashion. While it isn't necessarily a bad thing, it does tend to get old. I feel like producers flaked out on two important songs: the Senior Year Spring Musical Medley is simply a reprise of songs earlier in the movie, and they definitely could have written a song for graduation, instead of simply re-doing a song from the first movie. But hey, I guess if it ain't broke...
The last song, conveniently titled High School Musical, might be the best song from any of the three movies, and is a fitting end to a great CD and a wonderful franchise. With the current cast, anyway. Enjoy!

The songs from High School Musical 2 are not better or worse than the songs from High School Musical because they are equally great! However, these songs are very different from the ones from the first movie, but they are still great! I will include some spoilers from the movie to describe the songs, so do not read this if you do not want the plot spoiled for you. In the second movie, school's out and everybody is ready to enjoy their summer vacation. Seeking revenge for what happened to her and her brother (Ryan) in the first movie, Sharpay makes her father hire Troy at their country club in an attempt to separate him from Gabriella. Unfortunately for Sharpay, her plan backfires and Troy scores everybody else a job at the country club: Gabriella (now his girlfriend), Chad (his best friend), Taylor (Gabriella`s best friend), and the rest of the Wildcats are now employed! Plus, the country club's Talent Show is coming up and Sharpay must act quick before Troy and Grabriella wow everyone again. What will happen to Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Ryan, Chad, Taylor? The story is resolved musically with the spectacular songs from the very anticipated Disney Channel Original Movie. In my opinion, each song individually deserves an A+++ for their uniqueness. This is over thirty minutes of rock and pop (and possibly hip-hop, depending on how you categorize "I Don`t Dance") that little kids, teens, and adults will enjoy. The songs have their own little message hidden within, and the music itself is very appealing. I already know most of the songs by heart! Anyway, this is a must-have for fans of the first movie and anyone who enjoys good music. The song titles are in capital letters, the singers in parenthesis, and a description of each song after the two dashes. These things definitely contains movie spoilers! Beware! Here are the songs:
1. WHAT TIME IS IT? (Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Ryan) -- The cast sing their hear out as they describe what they hope their summer would be like.
2. FABULOUS (Sharpay and Ryan) -- The fabulous Sharpay tells Ryan, and everyone else, about the many things she needs to "help her get along" and why she needs them. A perfect song for the antagonist!
3. WORK THIS OUT (Troy and The Wildcats) -- Troy, Gabriella, Chad, Taylor, and the Wildcats sing a song about their new jobs after they realize that they are working for Sharpay`s father.
4. YOU ARE THE MUSIC IN ME (Troy and Gabriella) -- The very romantic song that Kelsi writes for Troy and Gabriella to sing in the Talent Show. This is the new "What I`ve Been Looking For."
5. I DON'T DANCE (Chad and Ryan) -- Ryan tries to convince Chad that playing baseball is just like dancing, but Chad disagrees. A song that you have to dance to!
6. YOU ARE THE MUSIC IN ME (Sharpay and Troy) -- Sharpay puts her own twist on Troy and Gabriella's song by adding a little rock and roll to it. Troy and Gabriella sing it with feeling, but you can tell that Sharpay sings it just for the rehearsal.
7. GOTTA GO MY OWN WAY (Gabriella) -- In the new version of "When There Was Me And You," Gabriella tells Troy why they must break up and how all of the things that Sharpay has given him has turned him into a different person. A very, very, very sad song that will make you cry!
8. BET ON IT (Troy) -- Troy realizes that Sharpay has in fact turned into a different person who does not care about his friends. Did he loose Gabriella forever?
9. EVERYDAY (Troy and Gabriella) -- Troy and Gabriella are back together and sing a song similar to "We`re Breaking Free" in the Talent Show. One of the most wonderful songs in the entire CD, very touching...
10. ALL FOR ONE (Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Ryan) -- This songs tells how everyone is going to enjoy the `real' summer and how they're all there for one another. This is the new "We`re All This Together." Very catchy and fun.
11. HUMUHUMUNUKUNUKUAPUA'A (Sharpay and Ryan) -- Princess Tiki (Ashley Tisdale) tells how she in love with a fish named Prince Humuhumunukunukuapua'a who is under a spell that turned him into a fish. Only a kiss can turn him back to normal! One of the best songs on the disc, but not in the movie, because of the humor!
If you like this, I suggest watching the second movie on Disney Channel and purchasing the first movie: High School Musical (Two-Disc Remix Edition) Also, don't forget to buy the first movie's soundtrack: High School Musical

charming Disney film for kids
on November 5, 2008
Posted by: frank12345

As a 40-something adult, this is the kind of movie that would usually send me running from the room. Of course, things change if you have a target-aged young daughter who comes home and tells you that her friends told her this movie is a MUST WATCH!! All right, so with much trepidation I agreed to sit and watch this with my daughter.
And what do you know? It turns out to be charming. No, there are no surprises here (except maybe that it IS charming and not just treacly pap, as are so many for-kids morality movies). Someone had the clever idea of making a musical for kids--a series of music videos tethered by a thin plot, really--and it works. I have to admit that I was fully won over when the basketball practice turned into a music number (Get'cha Head in the Game), with the stock sounds of basketball (squeeky shoes, etc.) cleverly mixed into the song.
There are a number of pretty good songs/videos in the movie, though my favorite is the Breaking Free duet that basically serves as the climax.
Much has been made about the question of whether the actors who sing these songs are really all that musically talented. It's hard to say without seeing them perform live, but most of these songs have clearly been enhanced by an autotuner, which suggests these may be actors with very modest singing ability (typical of the modern Disney stable, think Hilary Duff, Christy Carlson Romano, etc.) rather than singers who can also act.
But who cares? The songs are catchy and worthwhile within the context of the film and they sound fine and in-tune and catchy on the soundtrack album. I don't expect that these actors will be taking the production on the road anytime soon, so it really is irrelevant what studio trickery might have been used to get the songs to their final state. This album is a fine sourvenir of the movie, and is eminently listenable (and often a lot more than that).
This "deluxe" version of the original soundtrack (which is still available in the non-deluxe version at a lower list price) includes a second disc with CD+Graphics karaoke versions of most of the songs on the soundtrack (missing are the What I'm Looking For reprise and Stick to the Status Quo), plus a relatively worthless Disney tie-in video promoting their latest faceless lollipop group (B5) performing Get'Cha Head in the Game, and a little foldout "poster". If your kids (or you) are are into karaoke, this deluxe version is probably worth the extra bucks. Otherwise, there's not much added value. (The original version features the same karaoke instrumentals for Start of Something New and Breaking Free, but they are not CD+graphics encoded, which means the lyrics won't appear on your video-compatible karaoke player).

"Me & My Gang" is dominated by good lyrics and catchy notes - uplifting and inspiring on tunes like "Stand," sorrowful and heart-tugging on "What Hurts the Most" and "Words I Couldn't Say." Some of the sounds are predictably close to other RF songs, but the lyrics and the harmonies make listening worthwhile. On the "Is it pop or is it country?" debate: I would say this album is both, and should appeal to fans of both genres. I've played this album over and over, and I like it more each time. If you've liked any of Rascal Flatts' earlier releases, you will enjoy this album.

a pleasing rock record
on November 5, 2008
Posted by: frank12345

Kid Rock's new album isn't as revolutionary as the artist and title proclaim; yet it IS rather pleasing, and is indeed a bit maturer than much of Rock's previous work. The only hints of the rock/rap that will haunt him 'til the day he dies are found in "Sugar" and "Don't Tell Me U Love Me"--and even then, both songs stand testiment to the fact that Rock doesn't distinguish between musical boundaries. You have to respect him for that, if nothing else.
The album's strength, like it's two immediate predessecors, lies in its southern rock backbone. Nowhere is this more clear than on "All Summer Long," a melodical melding of Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama" and Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London" (the opening riff makes me wish Rock would record "Werewolves;" honestly, he would tear that song up--in a good way). The country blues of "New Orleans" (a co-write with the one and only David Allan Coe) is another joyous sing-along, and one of Rock's most enjoyable tunes in a long time. "Amen" gets a bit too serious, but it is still enjoyable; naturally, Rock makes controversial declarations like "God d*** it, I'm afraid to send my kids to church" and "Our nation's race relations got me feelin' guilty for bein' white." The stone-cold country of "Half Your Age" helps convey the songs hilarious--and scathing--message. "Blue Jeans and a Rosary" touches upon gospel vibes, as does the previously-mentioned "Amen." Even the title track, though lyrically unoriginal, is catchy and listenable.
To me, this is Kid Rock's third record. I know, he had a career before COCKY; but here we see a man evolving musically and lyrically. While he still isn't at the creative high he insists he is, Kid Rock has managed to transcend genres, and to create some truly memorable music. ROCK N ROLL JESUS is a great album, if only for the fact that you can't easily place it in one musical category. While I don't recommend worshipping Rock for that, I do suggest we pay him some respect, and lend him our ears. Preach on, brother.

What characteristics make a speaker a good and powerful one?

I need a small but powerful external speaker for my laptop.
When bass is strong and the sound does not get distorted with high volume. when highs and lows are noticeable makes the musical experience more pleasant.
Materials are important...if the speaker looks made out of cheap plastic, of course the sound is going to be cheap also

Where can I get my camera fixed?

My camera fell on the floor, and its kind of broken. The zoom lense wont go in or move at all, even when i close it.
normal warranties won't cover this type of accident (or any other), but few extended warrantied do. So if you have an extended warraty, specially from BB, then you can go and ask. they honored one of my extended warraties once, by just replacing the product, that is the reason why I get all my guilty pleasures at BB. If you don't the you should reconsider purchasing a new camera and buy a good carrying case this time around.
pd: normally fixing an electronic such as this one, is more expensive that just replacing it (getting a new one), since this producs are the result of mass production, then materials are cheaper when sold to the manufacturer and builder. So getting a piece of replacement specifically for YOU is going to be RIDICULOSLY expensive.

what is SLR short for?

The single-lens reflex (SLR) camera uses an automatic moving mirror system which permits the photographer to see exactly what will be captured by the film or digital imaging system, as opposed to non-SLR cameras where the view through the viewfinder could be significantly different from what was captured on film.
