this is the best bourne movie yet. you still get a lot of unanswered questions but most of the story behind the three movies is explained. matt damon is good and the action is great with that shaky camera and the fights and chases are as expected with the bourne trilogy. this is the most intense bourne yet and the longest but i wish it was 10 to 15 minutes longer because jason goes to all these different countries in the run time of the movie. but it was still great and cant wait for the next sequel because this had somewhat of a surprise ending.
What's great about it: realistic acting, over the top in a good way
What's not so great: wish it was longer but it will do

the opening scene is pretty violent and intense. the rest of the movie takes place in a city of survivors from the events of the first movie. the army guys are pretty believable for the most part but the only likeable army guy that you get to know dies to early. but dont worry, his friend steps in later. the helicopter scene in the open field was gruesome and doen in a pretty cool way. the son and the daughter actually do pretty good in this as the main stars. now from the trailer, it looks like the dad is the main star and that hes looking for the kids or something. well hes not, in fact he dies in the begining and becomes the main villian throughout the entire movie. this isnt as good as the first but its still ok. its too short and its almost your typical horror survivor movie but its got a good style and its very well done.
What's great about it: acting, violence, style, begining
What's not so great: short, characters die at the wrong times

martin scorseses best movie since goodfellas, maybe even better. this is one of my all time favorites, maybe even my favorite. mark wahlberg dilevers the best lines in this movie. leo dicapreo is obviously one of scorseses favorite actors-just look at gangs of new york and the aviator. matt damon is good and jack nickleson is a monster and is really convincing. they all got the whole boston accent down perfect. the story is great, complex, gritty, and and actually makes you care for it and there are a lot of twists as well. overall, this is one of my favorite gang/cop/mafia/crime movies of all time and it definetly diserved the best picture award.
What's great about it: martin scorsese, the cast, confusing story, ending

i see what the coen brothers are trying the accomplish, by making every violent scene very silent and that worked and helped it out a lot. it added some extra suspence even it there was nothing going on. a lot of people complained about the ending, but i like it. it had a quiet and and peaceful ending that noone even thought to expect. and sure almost everything might go wrong in the story, but that just tells you that josh brolin and tommy lee jones arent the big unrealistic action guys that most movies are made of these days. i like josh brolin a lot in this and tommy lee jones is perfect as the western sherrif, but javier bardem cuaght my eye completely. hes so cold and vicious in this and the eiry silence in his scenes makes everything so much more intense. the cinametography is great also. but this wasnt best picture of 07 in my point of veiw. american gangster was and it didnt even get nominated. overall, this is a classic violent and gritty take on the drama/suspence genre.
What's great about it: javier bardem
What's not so great: incomplete story

The 2-Disc Collector's Edition of Paul Thomas Anderson's brilliant There Will Be Blood, the first of 2007's Best Picture nominees to receive the multiple DVD treatment, offers a superb transfer, a fact that should come as no surprise to those aware of Anderson's admiration for DVD. Although some may quibble with there being only eight chapter stops for a 160-minute film, the truth is that each of the eight has been perfectly chosen and titled, so viewers can find what they need easily. The most interesting of the extras on the bonus disc is "The Story of Petroleum," a silent movie from the 1920s made to educate the public about various aspects of the oil industry. Jonny Greenwood, whose musical compositions contributed greatly to the overall effect of Anderson's film, created a wholly new soundtrack for this nearly 100-year-old short. Another portion of the bonus disc showcases old movies, drawings, and still pictures from the time period juxtaposed with scenes from the film. This section illuminates the level of research done by the filmmakers. The collector's edition also includes the original theatrical trailer, as well as the absolutely brilliant teaser trailer. There are a smattering of deleted scenes, the longest being the "fishing sequence," wherein the audience sees Daniel Plainview and his crew attempt to recover materials lost down the well during drilling. Those who care about the remarkable craft and intelligence that went into this amazing film will find the two-disc edition as fascinating as the movie itself.

this movie was very long. thats not a bad thing, but 10 or 15 or 20 minutes shorter wouldve told the story just as good. daniel day lewis was superb and deserves the oscar. the ending was the only violent scene and the title is there will be BLOOD. they coulnt name it there will be oil. i understand why so many people thought this was so slow, because it is, but for good reason. daniels acting couldve made this a 3 1/2 hour long movie and i wouldnt have been bored. and you really have to appreciate the whole situation of daniels character to like this. the cinametography was great and the weird characters played their parts through.
What's great about it: daniel day lewis
What's not so great: title, length

this movie came awfully close to getting 4 stars because it has one to many songs in it. but they all were good because some of them were of key but thats what made them more gritty and added a good style to the movie. this has to be my favorite musical and one of my favorite movies of 2007. and thats saying something because i dont like musicals. johnny depp is excellent and the supporting cast really helps. the openning and closing scenes are great and they way the meat pies are made is sick and great and humoress.
What's great about it: johnny depp, the grittiness of this movie
What's not so great: more songs than neccesary

this is the biggest gta yet. san andreas might have been bigger at scale, but this one looks and feels truly amazing and its still huge. i love the russian and italian mafia and stories based on them. this gta has the best story of all the gta's. in a few mission, you can choose the fate of a target. in a lot of missions, you choose wich boss to kill- this choice will determine some of the game's story. so, when you beat it, restart the game choosing every thing the opposite than what you did in the previous game. hint: when you have to kill either playboy or dwayne, kill playboy. you get his house and the gta 3 outfit. anyway, this is my alltime favorite game allongside nba 08. so go and buy it now. the city looks real, but the cutscenes look robotish and dull, but thats only a minor problem. niko bellic is without a doubt the best gta character yet. he was in a war, and hes really likeable, but he can get pretty mean ans vicious at some points. roman, his cousin, is hilarious and fat. i had to put the subtitles on just because of little jacob- and you still dont understand him. brucie cracks me up and is a steriod junkie- probably one of my favorite characters. packie, an irish psychopath, is pretty funny and likeable(on of my favorites). and all the mafia bosses are pretty believable. note: when doing a mission with packie, get the camera really close to him where you can see the inside of his head. there is a small box with a picture of a brain inside it. i guess that means hes an idiot or something. theres some pretty cool "departed" like twists in the game. and only having 94 missions, its pretty short. but youll be playin it for a long time. the lighting is perfect and the controls are pretty good. the aiming and driving takes some getting used to, though.
What's great about it: everything
What's not so great: cutscenes couldve been better

if you give a movie a 3/5 star rating, you can either give it a Yes or No for reccomending, i say NO. peter parker, Stop Narrarating. in almost every fight scene, you can spot a few moments where peter is completely animated so it makes the movie look like shrek. if sam raimi directs the fourth spider-man, he better darken it up like batman begins, or do something with it. spidey turns all emo in this installment and thats both good and bad. the bad is, he is emo, and when hes trying the charm all the chicks, hes embarrasing himself. the good is the scene in the jazz club. the sandman does a pretty good job, but just gets plain stupid in the fight. topher graces 'venom' only appears for the final battle which was dissapointing, and on top of that, he barely makes appearances as eddy brock in the news room. venom does look pretty awsome, though. marry jane is still boring and peter parker needs to stop crying. this is the longest spider-man yet but not the best by any meens. harry comes back, but as hobgoblin-whatever that means. harry does do pretty good in this even if he does act like a little kid in some parts. but theres one more thing that bothers me along with the countless flaws of this movie, why cant harry believe peter. i mean come on, his dad was the green goblin and peter is spider-man. why cant he accecpt that he was trying to kill peter. in other words, harry is an idiot. so when turns all emo, he finally gets tired of convincing harry of the truth and does something that noone expected. this movie may look great on blu-ray, but is not great overall. the only reason i own it is because it came with my ps3. and note to sam raimi and all the filmakers: if your gonna have all these villains and character changes, take advantage of the situation other than just throwing a bunch of stuff together because you had money.
What's great about it: venom, fight scenes
What's not so great: sandman in the final battle, topher grace has like 3 scenes

this was a pretty solid thriller. ed harris was great as usual. morgan freeman was, well, morgan freeman. casey afflack is too much of a pretty boy to play this role but still does a pretty desent job. the story gets a bit confusing but by the end you seem to put it all together. i didnt really care for the ending at all, because the story gets side-tracked from another unwanted story that has a tragic ending, but the story ends in the like the middle of the movie, then they get back on track with the original plot. but by the end of the whole movie, however, its not really that affective. one of the villains dies way to early, but for an explainable reason. this is mostly a "departed" wannabe. its got the curse words, its got the small shooting scenes, its got the boston accent done pertect, and its got the plot twists. this movie surprised me on how good it was because ben afflack directed it. but for the most part, it was a pretty solid drama, thriller that was good enough to buy on blu-ray.
What's great about it: ed harris, its on blu-ray
What's not so great: the ending

uhhh...... my cousin said tha action was good but the story sucked. and a friend told me the whole movie was awsome another relative said the acting sucked but everything else was good. so being a fan of both alien and predator, i go out and by avp2. first of all, if you make a lot of money from the original avp, dont get 2 directors that have never directed a movie before to continue a movie with iconic characters. the movie starts on the ship at the end of the first one with a pretty desent openning fight sequence but after that the movie just goes downhill. the setting is in a little town that nobody cares about or even heard of. the acting is awful. the only ok performances are out of the marine lady and the cop. all the fights are scattered and a mess cuz you dont know whats going on half the time. the the scene when the aliens kill the homeless people made no since and was completely unneccesary. the constrution site fight scene was ok i guess, but no more than that. and what was the point in the predalien. it wasnt that big at all. you barely see it. its just as menacing as any of the other aliens. and they completely changed the look of the aliens head. yea sure, minor changes are fine but not like this. there is basicly no story. if there is, then its the aliens killng people and the predator killing the aliens. and the scene when the predator was leaving his home planet was very phony. avp2 is just another stupid dead teenager movie and no more. its predictable and short. now dont get me wrong, ilike the first alot. but this one just doesnt own up at any level.
What's great about it: classic icons
What's not so great: acting, speciel effects, story
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
