Great brush!

This is my first sonic toothbrush so I can't really compare it to things like sonicare or oral b, but so far I really like it. I've been using it for a week now and my teeth are noticeably whiter and feel cleaner. They actually have a gloss to them that they don't usually. The brush has 3 settings though I prefer the whitening. Basically it's just 3 tiers of intensity with whitening being the most intense. The others are sensitive and massage. Even though I have sensitive teeth, I don't find whitening too abrasive as others have said, but it could be a difference of technique.
The battery life is phenomenal. Came mostly charged and haven't needed to charge it yet outside of a quick 10 min charge out of the box. Others claim nearly a month of battery life which is great.
I also love the bristle texture. Much finer and softer than standard brush bristles. Leaves me feeling super clean each time.
Given the price point and how much improvement I've seen in just a week, I would definitely recommend this to someone looking to try a sonic brush.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very solid machine

I am someone that I would describe as techy, but at the same time, not overly so. The TL;DR of this review is that that is the type of person this laptop will suit best.
PROCESSOR AND PERFORMANCE
I have two laptops in my house. One is my work computer and the other is my personal laptop, which this is a replacement for. My personal laptop was a 2010 value laptop and there's no comparison between it and this. Things are a little closer with the company supplied laptop. That has a 2015 core i5 processor and an SSD as well. I thought maybe they'd be fairly comparable, but the Surface Laptop 4 is soooo much snappier and responsive. The extra 5 years (these have 2020 Ryzens in them) and this being more on the level of an i7 make the two processors feel night and day. Microsoft went for processing power on this and it shows. Very fast in everything it does. Opening programs, installing them, running large Excel sheets, etc. I can't compare it to Surface Laptop 3s as I never had one, but compared to my decent work laptop, this is much better. One thing to note though is don't get this expecting it to be a gaming laptop. You can play some of the less demanding games on it, but if you like 4k @ 120hz+, you've come to the wrong machine, though I'm sure someone with those tastes knew that. Gaming that would probably work well on here would be streaming like Microsoft's Xcloud or Google Stadia. Something where the computer isn't being tasked with rendering the game. Thanks to Wifi 6 built in, you could stream games. Speaking of, wifi 6 is amazing. My phone gets 250 to 300 Mbps downloads and uploads over my gig speed wifi. I ran the test on the Surface Laptop 4 and hit over 400 Mbps both ways, which is a massive gain. I wish everything had wifi 6.
BATTERY LIFE:
This laptop has great battery life. I charged it the night I got it and have been using it each night over the last 5 days or so and still haven't had to recharge it. That's a win in my book. Every other laptop I've ever used gave me maybe 7 or 8 hours.
STORAGE AND RAM:
Storage is ample with a 512GB SSD in mine. I love the SSD. A cold boot and this is up and at your desktop in maybe 20 seconds. It's fast. No complaints here. As far as RAM though, I do wish there were more. It's a little light at 8GB and considering a lot of top end phones carry around that, I wish there was more on a machine expected to do more. I believe it is upgradable down the line. Plus, this laptop carries a premium price tag so it really should come with a little more.
USE
This is a dream to use. Fast, responsive, and has a comfortable, wonderful feeling keyboard to type on. The touchscreen is nice, but admittedly I'm avoiding using it to keep oil streaks off my pristine screen. The color accuracy of the screen is great and it makes video really pop. The only downside I find here is that while it does support HDR, it has to be on certain apps. You can't go on youtube in Edge or Chrome and watch HDR. That's my biggest complaint as everything else about the screen is a thing of beauty. I also enjoy the 3:2 aspect ratio as 16:9 is much more suited to movies and TV.
The webcam works great for video calls, though I only briefly tested it. Speakers sound good too, though I would encourage anyone to set up a nice set of external speakers. These are laptop speakers after all. You're not going to get a home theater experience from them.
VERDICT:
If I could give it 4.5 stars, I would. It's a beautiful laptop that runs exceptionally well. Incredibly polished experience all around. The only things I would knock it for are RAM, though more is available for extra money, and smaller things like a lack of legitimate graphics hardware, or the HDR thing I mentioned previously.
As I said early on, if you're techy enough to like the finer things in the world of consumer electronics, but not so techy that you're building your own PC or looking for your next gaming laptop, this will be a great laptop for you.

Great little printer
on July 6, 2020
Posted by: Robb0688

This printer is solid for the money. Maybe it doesn't do EVERYTHING, but it's got a scanner to (obviously) scan and make copies and it also prints wirelessly very well. The color printing is faster than what I'm used to and the black and white prints quickly as well. Set up is a breeze. You download an app on your phone, press a button on your printer to connect it to your wifi and you're done. I was up and printing some gift cards in minutes. The printer will automatically print out an alignment page of sorts. You simply take that page and place it in the scanner and press start. It takes care of the rest and ensures accurate, straight prints. Color replication is accurate, though I won't be printing keepsake photos from it. The formfactor is a sleek, compact box that allows for the printer to blend into its surroundings well. I would certainly recommend this to anyone who needs a basic printer to handle the occasional jobs like resumes or school papers. If you want photos and elite level printing, consider going up a model.

Great, bass-y earbuds!
on May 27, 2020
Posted by: Robb0688
from Minneapolis, MN
TL; DR: these sound great for earbuds, but maybe not as good as an over-ear product. Definitely pack bass punch. Not the most comfortable buds I've used.
Sound: these sound pretty good. The bass is deep and can really rumble provided you're listening to content that isn't compressed into oblivion like some streams. There was one song where it seemed like my vision was being affected by the bass a little, to put it in perspective. The mids and highs could be a *touch* clearer, but I will say these are worlds better sound-wise than some $30 budget earbuds I bought not long ago. And make no mistake, these don't sound bad at all. They just might not stack up with the highest tier earbuds, and that's ok given that they're also half the price.
Quality: the case and top of the buds are made of a hard, textured plastic. Some complain it feels cheap, but what I like about it is that it's super low maintenance. This is a pro in my mind. The case's lid is also just slightly translucent so you can see the charging indicator lights for each bud and the case while it's closed, which is nice. The lid snaps shut fairly firmly, but even if it were open, the buds are held in magnetically and shouldn't unintentionally fall out. USB-C charger is in the back. Not sure if I like this since I have a PILE of micro USB cords laying around, but only 2 USB-Cs.
Battery life: buds hold about 9 hours each, case holds an additional 9. Other buds might beat that, but it's definitely respectable.
Comfort: I had trouble deciding on 5 stars or 4 for this review (would probably give a 4.5/5 if i could) because of the comfort level of the buds. They *are* comfortable, but not without a little fiddling first. I think they're just a little too big for most ears. My tip would be to insert the earpiece and then twist it towards the back of your head, pressing on the earpiece as you go. It should almost screw down into your ear and seat against the ridges on your ear. Then make minor adjustments as needed. They're sort of egg-shaped and when they're in should look like an egg almost on its side. They do seat securely though and don't feel like they're going to fall out like my cheap ones do. They're also well balanced and don't feel heavy.
Overall I'm enjoying them and they're much better than budget buds. You're probably going to want to like bass-heavy sound though as there's no EQ adjustments available.

A great home tool with a couple small drawbacks
on April 13, 2020
Posted by: Robb0688
from Minneapolis, MN
I used this product in all 3 of my carpeted rooms (which actually all have different styles of carpet) before writing this review and I think that provided some important insight. I also used this with Hoover Paws and Claws solution.
Slightly larger than your average vacuum, but surprisingly light. Comes with a bag holding the hose for the attachment. The attachment is separate and doesn't stow away on the unit. It may have added bulk, but it's too bad this didn't come with a spot to store these on unit. Operation is incredibly simple. All tanks are labeled as to what goes in them. Just fill your water tank and solution tanks separately (no need to dilute solution, which is super nice), recline it, power it on and go. You push forward, it shoots water and solution into your carpet. Pull back and it draws it out. Couldn't be simpler; just be sure to go slow in both directions. It also has a "dry only" button which allows it to go in either direction without adding more water. I did all my rooms once with wash/dry, and then with dry only. It does still leave your carpet a little damp, but so does every other carpet cleaner so I didn't find this too annoying. It also has a pretreating wand that doubles as the unit's main handle which is really cool. Shoots a jet of oxy solution out in a tight little jet. Worked great on some older spot in our berber carpet. All in all it left my carpets looking great! The plusher ones looked new again (lifted some of the tracked-down areas) and the dirtier basement carpet looked more uniform, though maybe not new (honestly though, I don't think there's any saving that carpet). And it left a subtle, yet fresh and clean smell. Not chemical or strong.
As the title says, there are a couple drawbacks, but I wouldn't say any are dealbreakers. It's my belief that this provides better suction on plusher carpets. It seemed like it was drawing in more water when I would pull it backwards through the plusher carpets. They must make a better seal. Not a big deal, just expect shorter, looped, berber carpets to be wet longer. The cord for it is a little on the short side, which isn't a problem for me due to having a small townhouse, but it may be bothersome for some users. Obviously an easy fix with an extension cord. The water tank isn't the biggest either, but that might be to save on weight when in use. I did notice it was nearly dry during my first use, though i'm not sure if there was more in the machine, so I can't say if it'll do anything when it runs dry. I just noticed it was super low without it telling me anything, so who knows. I don't plan on running it dry to test it. Lastly, it goes through solution and water somewhat quickly, but not alarmingly fast or anything. Just something to note.
All in all I would say it's worth it for pet owners. Mine picked up a LOT of cat hair my dyson left behind, which means it deep cleaned, and it made my carpets look and smell great. The fact that it took some old stains out of our downstairs carpet, and made it a uniform color sold me; I didn't even need to see how the other rooms turned out.

This solution removed some older, more set stains from my carpet. Smells nice and dries cleanly. It may not make your carpet look absolutely brand new again, but then again nothing will, hence 5 stars.

Great backups and workout buds
on March 25, 2020
Posted by: Robb0688
from Minneapolis, MN
SOUND (3/5)
The sound quality does leave a fair bit to be desired.I find their "signature" setting is best, and bass boost is ok, even the best setting isn't stellar. Their "balanced" setting is trash though. Super tinny and flat sounding. Cannot recommend that setting at all. Make no mistake, you're not getting hifi buds for $30.
FORM FACTOR (4/5)
The buds feel nice, fit well and are small. The case is just ok, no lid, but magnets hold it in pretty well. You can shake them out, but it takes a pretty deliberate, tough shake. A lid wouldve gotten it 5/5 because everything else feels good. I also like the built in USB charger on the bottom of the case. nice to not have to find a cord.
BATTERY LIFE (5/5)
Pretty solid compared to many other, nicer buds. Longer than airpods and other buds that are WAY more expensive. Case and buds carry something like 22 hours.
Other notes: bluetooth v5, which is good. Allows for use of one bud at a time.Touch controls work well and there's quite a bevy of stuff you can do.
The things that get it up to 4 stars are the facts that they're only $30. You can't really go wrong so they make great backups if you have nicer buds. They're IP44 rated so they should stand up to sweat when working out, which is also nice considering a lot of higher end ones aren't water resistant at all. I would recommend them, just don't expect to get audiophile sound. Have these be your workout buds that you leave in your gym bag and i think you'll be satisfied.

Solid Soundbar
on May 7, 2019
Posted by: Robb0688
from Minneapolis, MN
TL;DR: This soundbar is sleek, compact, sounds pretty great and easy to set up. Bass lacks a little punch in my testing. No wifi casting option.
This is my first soundbar ever and the experience has great with a couple of very minor snags. First off, as I said in my synopsis, the soundbar is sleek and compact. I really like the styling of both the bar and the subwoofer. You can tell the intent of the bar was to produce great sound without being the focal point of your setup and I think that was achieved here.
The sound is impressive and stays clear up to high volumes in the little high-volume testing I've done, but in my opinion the bass lacks a good thump. Maybe it's my source, maybe it's my sub's placement in the room, maybe it's a combination of both. I just feel like it could punch more, but that's not to say it's a bad sub. it's actually pretty good. Just could be a little better. It actually stays impressively clear sounding, which makes it easy to accept the shortage of punch. The rest of the range of sound is great, so I would say overall it has a superb, balanced sound profile.
The only cons I've come up with are as follows. the remote is very basic, and sometimes the bar takes a second to make the changes you've indicated with the remote. I am also unclear if the dialog modes are sub modes of the 3 modes indicated on the remote (music, movie, night). Is it music mode with dialog enhanced or is it where if you pick dialog enhance 1 it shuts off the previous mode? I am not clear on that. Just press mode buttons until your content sounds optimal would be my tip. The other is that you can only pair your phone via bluetooth, which I believe forces you to compromise your sound quality. I wish it had a casting feature to avoid that. Smart features might be appreciated by some as well for this price point, but it didn't personally bother me.

Great Headphones!
on March 27, 2019
Posted by: Robb0688
from Minneapolis, MN
I've been using these to play mostly shooters like Apex Legends and they are great! The Windows Sonic compatibility adds a great surround sound aspect to them, which helps to locate enemies around you that you can't see just yet. The bass is just the right amount of booming and the sound isolation is good too. They're also quite comfortable and fit my head well. I would definitely recommend these, especially at their entry-level price point.
The only con I can come up with is that it has a flip-up-to-mute mic. This seems cool in theory, and headsets I've used in the past have had this too, but in reality it can be kind of tricky if you're trying to play, but need to mute yourself quickly (like for a cough or sneeze) since it requires you to take a hand off the controller. I would've preferred a mute button you can press with your thumb quick like the standard xbox chat headset. Honestly though, that shouldn't keep you from getting these headphones. They're worth it.

Great Fitness Tracker
on March 15, 2019
Posted by: Robb0688
from Minneapolis, MN
I went back and forth over whether this was 4 stars or 5, but I ultimately landed on 5 because I feel like this watch excels based on the identity it was designed to have and the price point it was designed at. No, this might not be the most feature-packed smart watch out there. There's no speaker/microphone so it can't play music or place/make phone calls without you physically using your phone, but at $200, it wasn't meant to. It's the Galaxy Watch Active and I think it really nails the Active part. It's small, simple, super light and easy to forget it's there. It automatically tracks a large number of workouts, it's swim-proof, and it also tracks a bevy of other physical things like pulse, stress, sleep, weight, calories, caffeine, water intake, etc. I don't know what else you can track without having something much more invasive hooked to your body. Because of this, I'd call this more of a fitness tracker than a smart watch. Since it DOES still have a lot of smart watch features like notifications, texting, calendars, weather, email, Samsung Pay, etc, etc, etc, I would say it's one very full-featured fitness tracker, thus the 5 stars. I've never used other fitness trackers or smart watches, but this one checks all my boxes. Small side note: some people have complained about the phone app and editing settings from there, but I like it because it's a much bigger screen, which makes changing things so much quicker and easier.
The only cons I can think of is that battery life is about 2 days at most (I could turn some features off, but then what's the point?) and I wish there were more watch faces, or that the ones that are on it had more colors.
TL;DR: Feature-packed fitness tracker that does everything that it says it will, well. Battery life could be a little better.

Achieve impressive sound from this JBL Link voice-activated speaker. Bluetooth technology ensures solid connectivity to your smartphone to play your favorite music, and the built-in Google Assistant provides hands-free operation on a variety of tasks. This JBL Link voice-activated speaker works with both iOS and Android devices for optimal convenience.

I am new to this tech. Would like to have the voice assistance .Being this has bluetooth and wi-fi capabilities any limitations to this speaker? Want good sound and the ability to expand system in future. Thanks

It sounds like from other reviewers that there is a delay between video and sound if you pair this with a video source, so you can't watch movies on it yet. Being that it's wifi capable and has a chromecast built in, you can cast your music to it meaning you get better sound and the notification sounds from your phone won't interrupt your music anymore. I haven't gotten to test the expansion, but JBL does claim this can be linked to other JBL Link speakers for a multi-room music system, ala Sonos. I hope this helps.
