Excellent Soundbar Made Better With Accessories

For the last week I've been testing the Sony HT-A3000 3.1 Dolby Atmos soundbar. I also have the optional subwoofer and surround speakers; however, I am focusing my review on the soundbar by itself and I'll mention the rest at the end..
The soundbar is very simple to set up. I plugged one cable into the electrical outlet, and one HDMI (eARC) cable to my laser projector. The soundbar immediately displayed an on-screen setup menu and after a few clicks’ setup was complete.
As for sound performance, I'll start by saying, prior to using the soundbar I didn't think that it was going to be any good without the sub and surrounds, but I was wrong. It sounded fantastic. By itself It's probably best suited for use in a bedroom or apartment where too much bass will anger your neighbors.
While watching a movie I found that turning on the "sound field" setting gave me the best sound. Dialogue was loud and clear, and the left and right channels provided a nice wide soundstage that was immersive. Even without up-firing speakers the ATMOS sound was so pinpoint accurate and immersive that it felt like an imaginary bubble formed around me and the soundbar. As for the bass, there were three levels of bass that I could choose from: Min, Mid and Max. Obviously, I was using Max which was surprisingly good enough. It won't replace the need for a woofer, but it also won’t sound anemic.
While listening to music I found that turning off the "sound field" setting provided the best sound. Voices sounded crystal clear and were not overshadowed by the mids and bass. The instruments also had great separation and didn't sound like they were stepping on each other.
If you really want to take this soundbar to another level, get the woofer and surrounds. I loved that there were no additional steps necessary to set them up. All I had to do was plug them into power and the soundbar automatically detected them and recalibrated itself. This setup is perfect for anyone that doesn't want to run wires throughout their house. Also, the Atmos sounded better than any soundbar I have tested, and it was even better than my $4000 stereo system. With that said, I highly recommend this soundbar (and accessories) above all others.

Meets My Expectations

For the last few days, I've been testing the SanDisk 128GB Ultra Eco USB 3.2 Flash Drive. Overall, it meets my expectations for a flash drive.
In my testing I found that the SanDisk's actual capacity was 114 GB. Which is not surprising because most manufacturers consider 1000MB to be 1GB instead of the computer's calculation of 1024MB being equal to 1GB. The drive also came preloaded with data encryption software, but I did not test it. As for read/write speeds, the drive performed well but barely hit the 100 MB transfer speeds advertised. However, it was still 50% faster than my other Flash drives.

For a large file (2.38 GB) it transferred at a max speed of 52 MBPS which dropped down to about 29 MBPS when the file was 65% complete. When transferring multiple small files, the transfer rate was below 2 MBPS.

Quiet Fan and Compact For Its 6 Qt Capacity

For the last week I've been testing the Sensio Bella Pro 6 Qt touch screen air fryer. I'll start by saying it's a decent looking air fryer that is fairly quiet, and compact for its 6 qt capacity. It has a 31 inch cord which was enough to be able to use it at the edge of my counter but still limited my placement options. It also features a digital timer and temperature gauge, as well as, touch screen buttons which make the exterior more convenient to clean than other models that use a turn knob.
For my testing, I used it to air fry two batches of large sized wings. The air fryer did a good job of thoroughly cooking and crisping the wings, however, it took longer than I expected. It usually only takes 20 minutes per batch but with this air fryer it took 30 minutes. As for cleanup, it was fairly simple. my only complaint would be that the back of the grill was not sponge friendly. I needed to use a brush to get all the debris out of it. Aside from that I think it's a good air fryer and I would recommend it.

Excellent Maneuverability and Decent Suction

I've been testing the Shark Wandvac System Pet Dry Bagless Cordless 3-in-1 Stick Vacuum for a few days. Overall, I think it is a good vacuum for a quick clean or touch-up but not that great if you intend to use it as a whole home, deep cleaning vacuum. It's best feature is that it is more maneuverable than any other stick vac that I have tested.
The Wandvac was easy to assemble and disassemble. Everything just snaps together in a fool-proof way. I found there is a little learning curve in figuring out which latch opens the canister, and which one separates the attachments. However, I only made that mistake once. It charges quickly and doesn’t take up much space in my kitchen.
As for performance, it has about as much suction that you would expect out of a portable hand vac. Which means I won't be using it as a whole house cleaning solution. When it comes to picking up German shepherd dog hair, it did a decent job and there was no hair stuck in the brush. However, because of the small debris canister, I found myself having to empty it out frequently. With those limitations in mind, I found that it has become my go to vacuum for cleaning the ceiling fan, stairs, tables, lamps, and the entertainment center. I also used it to clean my cars and it did a decent job there too.

Helps with New Parent Anxieties

As a parent of a newborn (3 Months old) I had all the new parent anxieties. Such as is he breathing? is the room too hot or cold? is he getting quality sleep? or if he stressed? etc. With that said, I was excited to see if the owlet camera and dream sock would give me some peace of mind. Overall, it did. But there were some minor annoyances.
Unboxing and Setup:
The owlet Dream sock and camera packaging was simple to unbox. However, the graphical depictions on the outside of the box didn’t do much to let me know exactly what was inside. What I found was one side of the box contained the camera, charger, wall mount, and a few feet of racetrack to conceal the charging cable. The other side contained one sensor and two sets of Owlet Dream Socks. One set was for babies under 12 pounds and the other set was for babies between 12 and 30 pounds. Something that was missing was a set of instructions. Luckily on the side of the box it told me what app I needed to download.
After downloading the app, it prompted me to register my products and connect to the Dream sock. However, when it came to connecting the sock that is where I had an issue. I went to connect the sock and I kept getting a failed sock pairing connection issue. Fortunately, through the app I was able to talk to a “brand ambassador” which didn’t take very long. After I verified my registration, name, email, etc., the “ambassador” was able to quickly figure out my issue. Although I was prompted to connect the device, I should have been prompted to create a profile for my child first. So, if you skipped that part you may want to go back and complete it. Which brings me to my first dislike. The profile questions were invasive. It asked unnecessary questions about my child’s race and the relationship between me and my child whether he is biological, grandchild, other family or adopted. Not sure why the app needs this information.

Good Controller With A Lot Of Features

I've been testing the RIG Revolution X controller on my PC. Overall, it is a comfortable controller with a lot of features for competitive players.
Pros
- It comes with a nice hard-shell case which will protect it while it's being transported.
- It has 3 different weights so I can adjust the feel of the controller to my liking.
- The wire is removable. It uses a USB A to USB C to connect to my PC. Which is nice because I can easily buy a longer or shorter USB--C cable to change the length.
- All the buttons are remappable and there are 4 extra buttons on the hand grips.
- The hand grip buttons are placed very well. I can operate them with a squeeze of my pinky and don't have to reposition my hands to make use of them.
- It comes with a free Dolby Atmos subscription. So, if you have a Atmos enabled headset you will be able to take advantage of the awesome 360 degree sound field.
- It comes with a nice hard-shell case which will protect it while it's being transported.

Compact, Easy Setup and Great Image Quality

For the last week I've been testing the Canon Pixma TR8620A printer. Overall, I think it is a great all-in-one printer/scanner. It’s nice and compact in size and fits perfectly in a small home office. Setup was very quick and easy and it seamlessly was able to connect to my phone and laptop.
When using it to print from my computer it prints fast and has great image quality. I really liked that it was able to print in duplex without having to remove the paper and put it back in the feeder. Additionally, I liked that I could also print on photo paper. Scanning and copying were also very quick and simple. The image quality of the copies was very clear and solid. it was so good that it was tough to tell the difference between the original and the copied document.
The only con about the printer is that the print cartridges were small. Which tells me this printer will be good for occasional printing and not really for heavy printing. however, I am still pleased with this printer and for my use I'm confident it will get the job done.

Feels Premium But USB Charging is Flawed

The Austere V series power strip is a premium feeling piece of hardware with one huge flaw.
I'll start with what makes this power strip feel premium. The plug is offset to the right which keeps the cable from blocking another wall outlet. The cable has a braided external sheathing which will protect wires inside. The casing is made from aluminum and hard plastic which male me confident that it won't break if kicked or stepped on. Also, the innards are significantly heavy which makes me believe it uses beefy components and not a cheap circuit board. Another premium feature is line filtering which should help clean up the picture on a television or the sound on a stereo receiver. I personally couldn't hear or see much difference, but I am confident that I am getting cleaner power to my equipment.
The biggest flaw with this power strip is the included USB charging ports. At first, I thought I had a bad unit because the USB ports didn't work with some devices. Such as phones, laptops, portable speakers and portable batteries. However, I confirmed with tech support that it was working as designed. So, with that said, you may want to save one of the 8 outlets for a proper USB charger.
With all that said, If the USB charging capability was better, I would have no problem recommending this as a premium power strip. But in its current state I just can't recommend it.

Love It...Nothing Standard About It

I've been a fan of Norton for many years and used almost every iteration of their product. This year I am testing the Norton 360 standard edition which also comes with Norton Utilities ultimate. I think Norton may have under-sold this version by calling it standard. It is the full Norton 360. The wording standard doesn't mean you get less AV protection It just means you get one license.
With that out of the way, some of the things I like about Norton are:
It doesn't eat up my system resources.
It doesn't try to scare me into buying other products
It doesn't try to install unnecessary browser extensions
It just works!

As for Norton Utilities Ultimate. I like it. I thought I had a pretty clean and optimized computer. But I guess I didn't. Norton utilities found tons of temp files, old registry entries, startup programs and some hard drive optimizations I didn't even know were there. Remediating the optimizations was as simple as one click.
The only thing I didn't like was having to give them my credit card information for future renewal.
Otherwise, this is a great product and I highly recommend it.

Small, Stylish, Affordable, Excellent Sound /Bass

I've been testing the JVC compact true wireless earbuds (Model HA-A30T) for the last week. Overall, they are a good set of earbuds. This is the first set of earbuds that I have used that don't have an App to control them. Controlling the earbuds is performed by tapping the buds. For example, a long press of the left bud allows you to change sound fields from bass to flat. A long tap on the right-side switches from noise cancelling to transparency mode. There are other things these earbuds can do which you usually find on more expensive buds such as low latency mode, and microphone muting. However, I wasn't able to figure out how to enable those modes because the instruction sheet doesn't tell you how to use them.
As for performance, they sound excellent. The vocals are clear, the mids feel full, and the bass is nice and punchy. Bluetooth connection was good. The buds connected almost instantly but every now and then I would notice some stuttering and timing issues while listening to music. The battery life is excellent. JVC advertises 21 hours and I easily got a over a weeks’ worth of use from them. Also, I didn't notice any idle drain from the battery housed inside the case. Which is great because there's nothing more disappointing than picking up your earbuds and finding out the batteries are empty after a long period of not using them. Another, thing I like about these buds is their size. The buds and case are both small, lightweight, comfortable and are very inconspicuous.
With that said, if you are looking for a small, stylish and affordable set of earbuds that are comfortable and have excellent sound and great bass these JVC earbuds will meet your expectations.

It can. However the camera moves a lot and you will probably run into issues with window glare.

There is no battery, it does use WIFI and the only wire is for power.

This is tough question because it's subjective. I will say it they are loud. But not loud enough for me to lose hearing.
