I've been testing the Twinkly Squares 5+1 combo pack for about a week and overall, I am not impressed. This 5+1 combo comes with one led controller panel, five standard led panels. six 10.5-inch connectors, one USB-C power brick, one 5ft USB-C Cable and a ton of connectors for joining the panels together.
With that said, everything about this product just seemed half baked. The USB-C cable and connector cables were too short which limited the modularity of the panels. The pins inside of all but two of the connector cables were bent to the point that I needed to use a flat head screwdriver to straighten them all out. The six panels are too small for my liking and only cover a 12' x 19" area. The App is buggy, outdated and is not user friendly. The built-in animations are very basic, and I was unable to find a Gif that the panels were able to display.
I hate to write negative reviews so I will mention a few positives. The LEDs are bright, and the Inferno and Fire animations were kind of cool. Also, if you are patient and creative, you probably can make some cool animations of your own.
However, the limited value, utility, and modularity, along with inadequate quality control and an outdated buggy App make this a disappointing product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My Favorite Security Suite

For the last week I have been testing the Norton - 360 Deluxe (3-Device) with LifeLock Identity Advisor (1 Adult) (1-Year Subscription with Auto Renewal). With this suite you get antivirus software, a VPN, password manager, software updater, Norton utilities and the life Lock identity monitoring. All are an excellent value in a standalone form and overall, it is a fantastic security suite.
I already had a Norton account, so I did not have to do the initial registration. With that said, installation was extremely simple. I entered the code, and it immediately downloaded the antivirus software. From there, I clicked a few buttons, entered the information for LifeLock to monitor and I was done.
Something that was very impressive was that while I was adding my information to Norton such as email, phone numbers, account numbers, etc. I already had 2 notifications from Norton about compromised accounts on the dark web. Some other things I love about this suite are the Norton utilities. Which performs PC performance and maintenance items such as clearing temp files, registry files and removing startup applications. Also, I like that the software suite does not try to sell you additional software as well as it does not use a lot of processor power.
As I said in the beginning, this is a fantastic security suite and I highly recommend it.

Great For Working At Home & Recreational Listening

I have evaluated multiple headsets from popular brands over the years and the Logitech Zone Vibe 100 is my absolute favorite. This is a headset that is stylish enough to wear while working from home and while walking around outside or taking a metro. It feels durable and is extremely lightweight. Also, the ear cups are some of the best I have felt. After hours of wear, they did not make my ears sweat and did not give me any headphone fatigue.
The Bluetooth connection was excellent. It quickly pairs to my phone and computer simultaneously and keeps a solid connection at 50 feet. Which means I can leave my desk and walk to the refrigerator without missing key details from a meeting.
As for the sound, voices sounded extremely clear, and music sounded fantastic. Especially while listening to pop, electronic, acoustic and anything with vocal range. The volume level is very comfortable, and these things can get very loud without any distortion whatsoever. The only thing I didn't like was that the voice prompts were too low to hear, which will probably be corrected in an update.
The Noise cancelling microphone is top notch. The sound reproduction was so good that one of my meeting attendees asked me for the model details of the headphones so they could buy them for themselves. No kidding.
Charging and battery life is also excellent. They easily lasted me 3 workdays of use and when it was time to recharge the battery it quickly topped up in less than an hour.
With all that said, these are the best headphones I have evaluated this year. I highly recommend them to anyone working from home. I will probably buy a few more for Christmas gifts.

Can Fit Any Laptop You Can Throw At It

I have been using the Solo - Code Pro Backpack for about a week. Overall, I think it is a great backpack with excellent features. Some of the things I like are the two separate compartments. One is for a laptop and the other is for everything else. The laptop compartment is huge and can fit any laptop you can throw at it. It has padding on all sides and since all my other stuff is separated my laptop doesn’t get all scratched up. The other compartment is also huge. I can easily fit another laptop, an iPad, Bluetooth speaker, go pro, backup battery, charging cables, headphones, and I still have room for more. There is also a hidden pocket in the lumbar area that is great for storing valuables and another pocket on the front for non-valuables. As well as drink holder pockets on either side. The backpack is very durable, lightweight and comfortable to wear, and easily fits under airplane seats and overhead compartments. I have officially made this my everyday wear backpack and I highly recommend it.

I have used an external SSD for my game storage and backup for years. The benefits to using an external SSD is that it makes my gaming library extra portable, and I save a ton of time because I do not have to redownload all my games to another computer. For the last 3 days I have been testing the Western Digital, Black series P40 game drive and I love it.
The P40 uses the new USB 3.2 gen 2X2 standard which allows it to operate at up to 2 GBps. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of devices that use the 2x2 standard yet. In my case my 2021 and 2022 gaming laptops do not support the new 2X2 standard. However, that does not mean that I was not able to get a performance boost. The P40 still performed twice as fast as any other portable SSD I own. For comparison, previous generation drives such as the Samsung T5 and WD Passport SSDs only operate at 500 MBps max. In my benchmarks of the P40 it operated at a little over 1 GBps read and write speeds.
As for real world performance, the P40 is a beast. Whether I was doing data transfers or playing games from the drive it was always blazing fast. Also, the aluminum case did an excellent job of heat dissipation. The P40 did get warm with long term use but it never got too hot. It also has built-in RGB lights that are controlled in the WD Dashboard app. Additionally, it also can be controlled with the ASUS Aura Sync app. Meaning I can synchronize the lighting with any compatible RGB keyboards, mice, fans, etc. The only thing I did not like about the drive was that the provided cable was too long and rigid.
With that said, this is a fantastic removable SSD that performs well, and I can’t wait to test its full potential on a Gen 2X2 port. Until then, I still highly recommend this drive.

Decent Cameras, Bad Display And User Interface

have been testing the Rexing V5C dual dash cam for a week. Overall, it is a decent dash cam for rideshare drivers, shuttle drivers and anyone that needs to monitor the interior of their vehicle. This dash cam has some good features, but also some flaws can easily ruin a first impression.
Installation was simple. Just like most other dash cams it uses 3M double sided tape to mount it on the windshield. Then, I had the choice of running the power cable around the headliner and pillar trims to a 12-volt lighter socket. or just letting it dangle down to the lighter socket. Unfortunately, I had to do the latter because of the placement of the lighter socket on my F-150. After I installed the camera, all I had to do was position the front camera to the center of the road and the interior camera to be centered on the interior.
As for video quality, the cameras are great. In daylight both cameras are clear, have an excellent field of view, and good color representation. At night, the front camera is also clear but sometimes struggles to capture license plates. The interior camera switches to infrared and does an excellent job of capturing facial features.
Earlier I mentioned that the camera has a couple of flaws. One of them is the built-in display. I love that it is 3-inches which is large for a dash cam. However, the color representation of the display is horrible because it had an annoying blue tint to it. (Luckily, the recorded video did not). Another flaw was the user interface. The menu was difficult to navigate. It would frequently freeze or get stuck between two menus and the only way to get back to a usable state was to unplug the camera.
With all that said, this camera will have initial annoyances. But if you only plan to set it and forget it, it will meet your needs and provide great video quality.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Cross-Platform Compatibility Is A Game Changer

I have been testing the wireless Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max for PlayStation for the last week. Overall it is a comfortable headset with excellent sound, amazing battery life and my favorite feature cross-platform compatibility,
After unboxing the headset, I initially thought I would not like it. It felt durable but it was also heavy. The microphone felt too close to my face and since I was using them in a dimly lit room I couldn't see or find the power button. However, after a week of game play I can say that the headset grew on me, and I overcame those shortcomings. One of the first things I like about them is that although they are not noise cancelling, they do an excellent job of blocking out ambient noise. Sometimes, I would use them just to dilute the sounds of my dog complaining. Also, the earpads are super comfortable. They fit stably on my head, fit comfortably over my ears and after hours of gameplay they didn't make my face hot.
As for performance, they sound excellent. Voices were clear, music sounded great, and the 3D audio created an immersive sound field that at times would make me feel that the sounds were coming from the room I was playing in. The battery is amazing. Other gaming headsets need to be charged every time I finish using them, but these have gone a whole week without charging and they still tell me that the battery level is high.
The feature I like most about the headphones is their Cross-platform usability. These are the first set of gaming headphones I tested that I could also use on my PC, phone, Switch and anything in between that uses Bluetooth. Moreover, I can listen to two sources at the same time. Meaning I can play games on my PS5 while listening to music or taking calls on my phone.
With that said, I love these headphones and highly recommend them.

Fantastic Performance And Great Features.

For the last week, I've been testing the GoPro Hero 11 Black. It is hands down the best action camera made by GoPro. Prior to getting the Hero 11, I was using a GoPro Hero 5. So, I was in desperate need of an upgrade.
In the past, I wasted time retaking a video because I couldn't center myself in the shot when I turned the camera toward myself. So, the first feature I like about the Hero 11 is the front facing display. I also love the Hypersmooth 5 video stabilization and horizon lock. Which keeps my videos stable while I am moving and almost eliminates the need to use a gimbal. I also like that the mount is integrated into the body of the camera. Making it more pocketable instead of being a separate enclosure.
As for performance, the camera starts up significantly faster than my old one. As soon as I press the record button it immediately starts recording. Which is great because sometimes those precious moments in the beginning of a recording are critical to capture. The touch screen controls are exceptionally smooth and easily navigable. The sensor on this camera is excellent. In bright scenes the camera quickly adjusts to the lighting conditions and captures scenes with amazing color accuracy. The microphone is also excellent. It did an excellent job of capturing voices and minimizing wind noise.
While I love the camera, there were a few things I did not like about it. Still photos looked good but were lacking in quality when compared to photos from a modern phone. However, I was able to get better photos by extracting them from the recorded videos. Also, the battery life was acceptable. But I would recommend picking up extra batteries and an offboard charger because the GoPro itself takes about two hours to get a full charge.
With all that said. If you are upgrading from the Hero 5, like I did. You will be impressed by how good the Hero 11 performs. I highly recommend it.

Fantastic Battery Life

For the last few days, I've been testing the ACER - Chromebook Spin 714 as my daily driver. I've used it for completing my cybersecurity coursework which required the use of emulators, web apps and google docs. I've also used it for work, virtual meetings, and even recreationally to watch movies. In every scenario the Chromebook exceeded my expectations for comfort, performance and battery life.
On day one, I immediately fell in love with the Spin 714. The first reason is because the keyboard is so comfortable to type on. All the keys have an excellent amount of feedback and are perfectly spaced. This made typing and completing writing assignments a breeze. Also, since it is thin and light, I was easily able to transport it in my bag and could barely tell it was in there. Another thing I love is the battery life and charging speeds. I was able to get 10 hours of screen-on time. Which is fantastic. This is the first computer I have ever used that can consistently provide me with that much use time. And while using a 65-watt charger I was able to reach 100% state of charge in a little over an hour.
The Spin 714 has some other great features that also come with some quirks. The 14-inch screen is bright, has tiny bezels and is a great size for productivity. I just wish it was a little less reflective. The speakers are decent. However, in the first few days I heard a random pop or crackle but that hasn't happened since. Maybe I got an update that fixed it. There is also a stylus built-in which is an accessory that you really don't find on other computers. It worked well but for some reason I was not able to use it to take notes in tablet mode. Maybe that will be fixed in a future update.
With that said, Overall, I think this is a great Chromebook that performs well and even with its quirks I still love it. Great Job ACER.

A Beast of Charging Capability.

The Insignia - 65W Dual Port USB-C Compact Wall Charger is a fantastic charger. I will start my review by saying not all USB -C cables are capable of 65-Watts of charging so make sure you are using an appropriate cable that is rated for 65-Watts or more. If not, you will only receive the highest wattage for the cable you are using.
With that said, I have tested this charger on my MacBook, HP laptop, ROG gaming laptop and an Acer Chromebook using a 100-watt USB-C cable. On every device It performed as advertised. It never got hot, and it maintained (and sometimes exceeded) a consistent 65-watt charge. When charging two devices it splits power to forty-five watts max on the laptop port, which is still enough to charge most USB-C laptops and 20 Watts on the phone port, which is still enough to charge almost every phone very fast. My only complaint would be that it looks plain. However, it is what is on the inside that matters and on the inside of this thing hides a beast of charging capability. Overall, I like it and highly recommend it.

It can. However the camera moves a lot and you will probably run into issues with window glare.

There is no battery, it does use WIFI and the only wire is for power.

No. If you use a switch it will shut the entire unit off because there is no battery. However, instead of a switch, you are able to use your phone or smart hub to turn it on and off.

Are they loud
This is tough question because it's subjective. I will say it they are loud. But not loud enough for me to lose hearing.
