Quality Phone

This is a terriffic phone. The expandable base units are the only way to fly these days. My only negative is the cord...I miss the cord. "Oh..c'mon" you're probably saying...but hear me out...how many times have you received a phone call and couldn't find the phone...the corded phones eliminate this problem...unless someone cuts the cord...or rips it out of the socket...this is a problem with children but easily rememdied...it's not a perfect plan...I suppose you should get both...that's what I need...a corded phone with the option to use expandable bases...hint hint wink wink phone making people...
What's great about it: Cool light colors and rings...can make and recieve calls
What's not so great: I kinda miss the cord...

Ok, but....

I bought this on Bluray because I had never seen it and read how amazing it looked. That is pretty accurate...it does look really good, especially for an older movie. However, the movie itself was just so-so. I've never seen it until now so it was great just to be able to watch Harrison Ford in his prime for the first time. And I must admit, it's fairly engaging. But, it's dated and little weird.
What's great about it: Semi-cool plot
What's not so great: Semi-cool plot, dated, corny, weird...

Fantastic

I love these movies...mostly the first two but I can watch the third anytime as well. Some of the best acting you'll see in any movie, period. The first two movies are just one long classic scene...perfection.
If you buy the Bluray you'll be watching the best version of these movies yet. Don't expect to show off your high-def system with these because the source film is over 30 years old. However, you can tell that A LOT of time went into this latest production and most of the vintage look is intentional. In my opinion, the Godfather shouldn't be seen any other way.
What's great about it: Looks the best it's ever looked
What's not so great: James (cmon, that's funny...)

Last real Metallica Album
on September 19, 2008

There are many true Metallica fans that consider this album the point at which they really started to decline...I think this album rocks and they began to delcine 30 seconds after they recorded it. Some of my favorite songs are on this one. This is actually the album that got me into Metallica. However, do yourself a favor and stop here...do not buy anything they've released since.
What's great about it: Most songs are fantastic
What's not so great: A little more "pop" than the last four

Great Collection
on September 17, 2008

I just recently bought this collection for my daughter who is just getting into this trilogy. The video quality is very good for standard def. As a long time Star Wars fan, these are the only three movies as far as I'm concerend. The new ones are a mess, poorly acted, poorly written, POORLY DIRECTED, just a real shame. That makes the original trilogy seem that much better.
What's great about it: Good video quality, alot of extras
What's not so great: none

They lost it a long time ago...

This is not a good album...I wanted it to be...but it's not. Here's why:
- James can't sing anymore...and if he can, he sure fooled me on this one. Terrible.
- Lars' new drum style doesn't work. But better than St. Anger.
- They need to write "tighter", more coherent songs...these are all over the place with poor exuses for "hooks" or refrains. Bad writing. Just not that good.
- Overall it sounds rushed and poorly produced...which happens to be the case on both accounts. Rick Rubin???? C'mon!!
This is also, in no way, a return to the "old" Metallica. I've been listening to Metallica for over 20 years and I've seen them live many many times. I've even met them. They started going south after they released the Black Album. A lot of true Metallica fans don't like that one either but I think it's worthy of the name. Load and Reload were not Metallica. To be honest, however, they are much better albums than either St. Anger or Death Magnetic, which is not to say that I would listen to any of them. My advice is to buy the first 5 (or six if you include Garage Days) and enjoy some of the best music...period. Metallica broke up in 1991 as far as I'm concerned.
What's great about it: Better than St. Anger
What's not so great: Not much better than St. Anger

High-quality PC speakers
on December 21, 2007

I've had these for almost a year and they are excellent. They don't even compare to my old PC speakers, they are that much better. Very well built. The only negative I can think of is the lack of a sub-woofer. If you want PC speakers with deep bass for a movie-like experience you'll have to shell out the extra dough for the Companion III or whatever's out now. Otherwise, I highly recommend these, they really fill the room with crystal clear sound; amazing considering the size. Sure, they're a little more expensive than the other PC speakers but if sound quality is important to you, they're worth the extra $$.
What's great about it: Very clear sound
What's not so great: Not very deep bass

I was told that because I have cable instead of sat or direct tv, that I should go with a projection tv instead of LCD or Plasma. Any truth in that?

No...not that I know of...and I'm pretty informed no this topic. I suppose it all depends on the picture quality of the TV...but projection is a distant third if you ask me...

You can, however, get alot more size for the money with a projection. I personally think they are inferior in too many ways though...

LG - 22" Widescreen Flat-Panel LCD Monitor

The TV, which otherwise looks very good, lack something that I want: an HDMI input. I have an XBOX 360, and I usually play with it through an HDMI cable, but I wanted to know if there are either any TV's in the price range of $0- $400 that are better, with more features; or if there is something I can hookup to get the same quality (1080p) of gaming.
I would highly recommend either the HP, Samsung or Dell PC monitors...they have very good image quality and can all be had for $400 some odd dollars...except maybe the Dell. You can probably upgrade to a 24 incher for this price with HDMI or DVI which is the same thing as HDMI, just need a converter plug. These should all be HDCP compliant so you can watch HD broadcasts and play PS3 or blue ray through them as well. I have an HP2408 and it is fantastic for personal use. I've also had a Samsung, also fantastic and I've read that the Dell is very good too. Hope this helps. Just another thought...if your LG has DVI then all you need is the HDMI to DVI converter tip and you're all set to go...not image loss DVI = HDMI quality.
