Quality issues ruin a good tablet

I have had several Acer products during the past 12 years, Including a laptop and desktop which I currently own. They have always worked fine, lasted many years and never had any quality issues. Therefore, I expected the same with this tablet.
Out of the box, the Iconia One 8 is attractive, small enough to hold comfortably in your hand, yet large enough to see the screen and use all of the touch features without difficulty. It feels solid. Heavy enough to evoke quality, but light enough to hold for long periods. The back panel is textured which results in better grip, no fingerprints and gives it a richer look.
The first thing I did was to charge the tablet, which lead to my first gripe. The usb cable is way too short. It's difficult to find a table low enough and close enough to an outlet to use.
When using the tablet I found the screen quality to be very good. Print was clear, video playback was high quality, and touch sensitivity fine. The processor was snappy with very little lag. Apps opened quickly and web pages loaded with appropriate speed. However, when you do play a video, whether on youtube or Netflix, the next problem reveals itself. The speaker is awful. The sound is tinny and dialogue and lyrics are difficult to understand. It absolutely ruins the experience. I had to attach an external speaker.
The tablet also comes with a micro sd card slot capable of adding up to 128 gb of additional storage. However, I found it very difficult to properly seat the card in the slot. Every time I inserted the card, it would pop out. You could see that the tablet recognized the card, but the slot just couldn't hold it. Finally, after too many attempts to count, I inserted the card so deeply into the slot that I will probably never get it back out. But it stayed in and it works.
The tablet comes with a 5mp rear facing camera and a 2mp front facing camera. I found the picture quality of both front and rear, in both still and video modes to be fine as long as you have plenty of light. And there are many customizations to help improve the quality. However, here I found the worst of the quality issues. There is a defect in the lens of the rear camera which produces a 1-2 inch black smudge in all pictures and videos. I called Acer customer service and based on my description, they confirmed that it sounded like a defective part.
In the end, I wanted to like this tablet, could have loved it, but quality issues make me not recommend it.

When I opened the box, the only thing I could say was WOW. With 8 antennas, 8 Gigabit Ethernet ports (yes 8, no more Ethernet switch) usb2 and usb3 connections, and 3 bands ( one 2.4 GHz and two 5 GHZ) with a total of 5.3Gbps, this router means business.
It's attractively designed and has enough vents to prevent it from getting more than slightly warm. It feels and looks high quality.
Set-up was very quick and easy through LinksysSmartWiFi. It pretty much installs itself. It has 2 guest networks, shows a graphic layout of all of your connected devices, has a built in speed test and allows for all of the usual customizations. It also has an app for you to control the router remotely.
I currently have 15 devices connected combined Ethernet and wireless. While all 15 where on we streamed video to 4 devices simultaneously. Video quality was superb with no glitches whatsoever. Signal strength is strong throughout my house. While walking through my house with my laptop, WiFi Analyzer showed a signal strength of -10dBm. I have never seen anything close to that from any router I have ever used. It also showed an improvement of 100% in signal strength vs my last router. And that's only because 100% is the highest number it can show.
This is more expensive than the average router, but with the above features plus a 1.4GHz dual core processor and Multi-User Mimo technology I think it is worth it. Linksys also includes a 3 year warranty and 3 years of free tech support, which makes it a better value. .

Quality product, easy to use

Out of the box, Linksys MaxStream RE7000-AC1900 is an attractive and unobtrusive product that blends into the wall outlet. Once plugged in and setup you will probably forget about it.
The instructions are brief, simple and easy to follow. Setup with WPS takes just 1-2 minutes, and setup via a computer or tablet takes 2-3 minutes. After 48 hours of use, it was very slightly warm. Lynksys has designed it with many vent holes to prevent heat buildup.
I live in a condominium building with 80 aparments. At any point in time our wireless devices pick-up 40 - 50 wireless signals. Our router is located at one end of the apartment. our desktop is at the opposite end. In that room our wireless network was weaker than several other
neighbors signals. We setup the Linksys RE-7000 in that room. WiFi Analyzer showed a substantial boost in signal strength which now dwarfed our neighbors signals.
My son has a large two story house. He has had trouble with his wifi signal on his second floor and he has a wireless video doorbell on his gate which is located 50-70 feet from his house. He tried two competing brands of wifi extenders which did improve his upstairs signal but could not connect to the video doorbell. I brought the Linksys re-7000 to his house, quickly set it up and the video doorbell not only worked, but the video quality was excellent.
I would highly recommend this product.

Great Router, Great Service

Out of the box, the Linksys EA7500 is an attractive stylish router. It looks expensive, and it stays cool. Setup is very quick and easy. Linksys Smart WiFi makes it easy to see and control all devices on your network. It can connect to 12 devices and deliver 4K quality video to each one. You can have 2.4 and 5 GHz private and guest networks. I currently have 12 devices connected, 8 wireless and 4 with Ethernet connection. You can also remotely control the settings on your router, set parental controls and prioritize devices. There are 2 USB ports, one 2.0 and one 3.0. It also has a dual core processor.
I did have a problem after my initial setup. I have 2 printers on my network which had trouble communicating with my computers. This gave me an opportunity to call Linksys customer service which I dreaded. But to my surprise, a polite and knowledgeable rep answered the call promptly. The solution was to simply unplug the router for 30 seconds. Problem solved.
This router is capable of far greater speeds than I receive from my cable company. So, even though my network speed tests showed similar speeds to my old router, I experienced much greater speed of web page loading and better video quality than my previous N router. This is my first Linksys product and I am very impressed. I would definitely buy again.

Quality product at a good price

Out of the box, this soundbar is attractive, has a small footprint and is very easy to setup and install. The quick setup guide and users guide are very well diagramed and easy to follow and understand.
There are 4 ways to connect the soundbar to a source. You can use the provided RCA cables, a provided 3.5mm adapter,, an optical cable, not provided, or Bluetooth.
My setup was to use the RCA cables to connect to my tv, use an optical cable (not provided) to connect to my Bly-ray player, and use Bluetooth to connect to my phone. The tv is a 46" located in the master bedroom, approx. 15x20. .
The controls are located both on the side of the soundbar and on the excellent remote. The remote is light, comfortable and very intuitive with buttons well spaced so that any size fingers can easily operate it.
There is no equalizer but there are 3 preset digital sound programs. Standard, Theater and News. When I watched tv shows I liked Standard mode. Movies were watched in either Standard or Theater, with Theater adding a little more treble and isolation to the voices to make dialogue a little easier to understand. The News seems to add even more voice isolation and trebble.
Overall sound quality ranged from good to excellent. It is very source dependent. On the tv, using the RCA cables the sound quality was good. Using the optical cable sourced from my Blue-ray player and using Bluetooth sourced from my phone the sound quality was excellent. In all cases, the sound quality actually increased as the volume increased. It easily filled my large bedroom with sound and made watching more enjoyable. The wireless sub can be placed anywhere in the room and provides more than enough bass. This can be controlled from the remote and is completely adjustable within any of the pre programed digital sound programs.
Keep in mind that this product will not replace a 5.1 or 7.2 setup with an AVR and multiple surround speakers. Even when sound quality was excellent, you were always aware that all of the sound was emanating from the front of the room.

Easy operation, excellent picture

Purchased 3 weeks ago. Camera was easy to install and operation was very intuitive. Camera is very small, but seems to have a quality build. The video is excellent quality. Camera comes with an 8gb micro sd card which should be adequate in most situations. That will record for about 2 hours and then the camera will automatically overwrite the files on the card. Lcd screen is clear and easy to read. It comes with approx. 7' mini usb cable. Unfortunately, this is not long enough if you want to hide the wire by running it along the roof, the A pillar and under the dash. Also, battery only lasts about 5 minutes when not connected. This is too short, 15 minutes would be helpful. But those are my only criticisms. I would definitely buy again.

NO, the keyboard and the mouse are completely wireless without any way to connect by wire. You would have to get a wired keyboard and mouse and attach them via usb to the back of the computer

Would I be able to plug in a console to it, such as an Xbox? Does it have the channel input?
I am not familiar with the Xbox, but this computer does have an HDMI IN port, so if the Xbox has an HDMI OUT, I think it might work.

Hi. I just bought this and the screen continually adjusts the brightness/contrast automatically. I've searched everywhere and did the fixes stated online but with no improvement. Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks!
I don't have this problem. I did install all of the driver updates, and there were a lot ( maybe 20). Try using the Dell Support Assist to locte and install all of the driver updates and see if that helps.

Hello, I bought the my xps 2 days ago. I am really concern about the cooling system because it is way too warm. Compare to my friend MacBook Air, it's Much warmer. Does anybody feel the laptop too warm? Even when It is just on charge Or in light use...
I found it to be hot while installing all of the driver updates, but it has been cool since. Make sure to install all of the driver updates. There are a lot of them.

what type of anti virus software does it have?
Windows Defender Security Center is the only one provided. I have found it to be the best. It is effective, does not slow down your computer and it is free from Microsoft . It should be the only one you will need.
