Very Good Phone, But.......

Out of the box, my first impressions were that this was a very attractive phone that feels comfortable in your hand. It has some weight to it which some would call heavy, I call it solid. I think that adds to the premium feel of the phone. It comes packaged with a wall charger, a usb type c cable, wired earbud headphones with extra earbuds and a clip to attach them to your shirt. There is also and included usb type c to 3.5 mm cable, since there is no headphone jack on the phone.
The phone looks and feels premium, but the included cables don't. For the price of the phone, they should provide braided cables. The earbuds are ok, but I won't complain, as they are free.
The sim card tray is at the top and doesn't require a pin to open it. The sim card tray itself is also very flimsy plastic which I thought might break just from trying to insert the sim card.
When you turn on the phone, you are immediately impressed with the screen. It is lcd, not oled, but it is bright and vivid. It is easy to read outdoors even with brightness set at 40%.
Cell signal strength is oustanding. I have T-Mobile, and this phone consistantly brings in 5 bars of signal strength. Better than any other phone we have.
The camera is a single lens 19 megapixel rear and a 5 megapixel front. After 2 days of putting both through the paces in light and dark settings, with still photography and video. I am very happy with the results. Sony also has a physical camera shutter button which makes it so much easier to take pictures.
There is a super slomo function which is nice, but very difficult to capture what you want. There is also a 3D image capture which allows you to take a 3D image of yourself. It's cute, but I don't know how usefull it will be.
Watching a movie or video on this beautiful screen should be a pleasure, and visually it is. The problem, however, is that the speakers are tinny sounding. And this is true in phone conversations also, especially when using the speakerphone. This is the single biggest knock against this phone.
Sony has a haptic feedback volume setting. This provides you with a vibration during certain scenes in a movie or while listening to music or playing video games. I tried it while watching the movie Troy. It was good at times, letting you feel the rumbling of horses hoofs as the hit the ground or in fight scenes where you could feel every punch. The problem is that it also vibrated when it shouldn't have and you get tired of it pretty quickly. You can turn it off. I immagine that it would be good with video games.
The phone features the Snapdragon 845 with Bluetooth 5.0, fast charging and wireless charging (wireless charger not included). It is also water and dustproof.. The Sony UI is very light and easy to navigate, however, Sony does include several apps the you don't want or need and you are unable to delete them.
In summary, the pros:
1) Premium look and feel
2) Very strong cellphone signal reception
3) Excellent cameras front and rear
4) Snapdragon 845, very fast and smooth
5) Bluetooth 5.0, great reception and sound
6) Water and dust resistance ( Sony claims it can be submerged in water for 30 minutes)
7) Excellent battery which easily holds a charge throughout the day.
8) Quick charge and wireless charging
9) Sony has a reputation of timely updates for their phones, and I hope that contuse here.
Cons:
1) Tinny sounding speakers especially while on speakerphone
2) Fingersprint scanner is low on the back of the phone and takes some getting used to. Though, it is a fast and accurate scanner.

Excellent Product, Easy Installation

I have Google and Alexa devices but this was our first smart home connected device.
In the box you get the switch, a snap on faceplate, wire connectors and a small manual. It is advised to immediately install the Ecobee app or go online to their website where you get step by step instructions.
The installation if fairly easy, though I initially had some difficulty getting the motion sensor to work and to get Alexa to recognize the device by name when given a command to turn the light on or off. However, after a factory reset everything worked fine.
We installed the switch in our family room which is located near the enrty to our house. This way when we enter the house the motion sensor turns the light on. Also, when we enter our family room to watch tv we often have our hands full with snacks or food and it is convenient to have the light automatically turn on. You can also have the light automatically turn off after you leave the room. You can set the timer at 15, 30 or 60 minutes.
The microphone is excellent and picks up my voice from anywhere in the room. The speaker quality is better than my echo dot.
The device also has a night light which you can set to tun on automatically when it is dark.
Overall, we are thrilled with this product as it takes the place of of an Amazon Echo speaker and a nightlight, and is a great introduction or addition to a smart home. It will work with Google Assistant, which I may switch to shortly.
I highly recommend this product and will probably buy more of them.

Big and Beautiful, but.......

Out of the box the first impressions are:
This is a very attractive and stylish all in one computer. From the color scheme to the modern design.
The screen is large. I went from a 24" to this 27", and the size difference appears as if its much greater than that.
The stand is solid and the screen easily tilts to the perfect line of sight,
Once you turn it on, setup is quick and easy with the aid of Microsoft's Cortana talking you through it.
The wireless keyboard feels very premium, in fact, the keys have the best feel of any keyboard I have used and I have many computers.
The mouse is sleek and low. It fits my average sized hands perfectly, it's responsive and looks sharp.
After the initial setup, it is critical to go to Settings/Update and update windows to the latest version. This will take a while and may require restarts.
I also recommend immediately uninstalling McAfee security software. This will automatically turn on Windows Defender. I have found it to be effective, and it does not use resources or slow your computer down. And it is free and does not require a subscription.
I also recommend installing an ad blocker extension to the Edge browser. This will greatly increase the speed of web page downloads.
I won't go into the specs as they are clearly laid out on the BestBuy website. For daily family use, this computer is fast, the screen is very nice, the resolution is more than adequate, if not spectacular.
The B&O speakers are excellent. Watching a movie on Netflix or a video on YouTube is a pleasure.
There are multiple usb ports including highspeed 3.1 and a usb C.
There is also a headphone jack, a memory card reader and an HDMI IN port, though some of these are located under the screen and are a little difficult to get to. Another nice touch is a sliding panel located at the top of the screen which closes the camera for privacy.
Overall this computer is a joy to use. It's performance is very good, the computer runs quietly and with large vents across the top, it stays very cool.
BUT... I am taking 1 star away for 2 reasons.
First of all this computer is not capable of Windows Hello sign on. I have that on all of my other computers, and I am stunned that computer is not compatible.
Secondly, it's time to abandon the mechanical HDD and go with SSD.
I feel that at this price range both Windows Hello and an ssd drive should be standard and their omission is annoying.
However, I would still recommend this computer,

Beautiful Design, Excellent Quality

This is a well designed product from aesthetics to form and function.
It is a large toaster oven, with the emphasis on oven, as it will perform all of the functions of your big kitchen oven. And it will do it well.
Out of the box you are immediately impressed the style and the quality. The door is double glass and it has a very thick and tight seal. This provides excellent insulation and allows for accurate and consistant cooking temperatures. With our old toaster oven we used to have to raise the temperature higher than recommended in order to allow for heat loss thru the door. The DeLonghi has a button that will tell you the temperature in the cavity at any time during the cooking process.
And, speaking of the buttons. There are three dials, each with a button in the middle. These control cooking functions, temperature, toast color and power functions. Above the dials is a large, very legible screen that even my old eyes can easily read.
All of the dials and functions are very intuitive and easy to use without consulting the manual. However, there is a manual and getting started booklet. Both of which are among the best I've seen. In an age when many products don't even come with a manual, DeLonghi has provided a very complete and easy to follow set of instructions.
It comes with a wire rack, a crumb tray, a non-stick bake pan and a pizza pan large enough to bake a 12" pizza.
The tray slots are labled 1-4 with clear instruction on which level to place the racks for each cooking function. There is also a very bright interior light which remains on during cooking, and there is an audible signal for when pre-set temperatures are reached and when cooking is complete.
There are pre-set cooking funtions for Toast, Bake, Convection, Broil/Grill, Defrost, Pizza, Cookies and Keep Warm.
So far we have used the Toast, Bake and Convection functions and all have worked to perfection. This is the first oven I have seen that has a third heating element by the convection fan, making this much more efficient than ovens with only an upper and lower heating element.
I couldn't be happier with this product and I will definitely recommend it.

Beautiful, Fast & Quiet

This computer reflects the new design language from HP. It looks more modern with sharper edges, and it looks great right down to the new HP logo.
I usually don't like silver keys on a silver computer but here it works. The contrast is enough to make the keys easily visible.
The screen is 1080p and it is sharp and vibrant. It is reflective but not to the point where it hinders visibility, even in bright light.
The B&O speakers are loud and clear. Watching a movie or video is a pleasure.
The computer comes with 2 SS USB and 1 Type C port. It also has a memory card slot and a headphone jack.
There is no optical drive. The hdd is 1 tb and 7200 rpm.
Windows Hello facial recognition is incredibly fast, almost instantaneous.
Battery life is rated at 10 hours. I have only taken it down to 35%, but based on my usage, I think most people will make it thru a day, though maybe not the 10 hours. It took 1 hour and 15 minutes to go from 35% to 100%.
The flexibility of the 2 in 1 form factor is great. I have used it as a laptop, tablet and in tent mode.
When you first setup the computer I recommend the following:
1) Uninstall the McAfee Security Suite. This will allow Windows Defender to turn on and it will protect your computer. I have used it on all of my computers for years with no issues. It is free, will not slow down your computer and will not ask you for a subscription.
2) Go to Settings>Updates and install all updates. My computer came with the first Creators Update, version 1703. You must update that version first, the restart your computer. Then Install The Fall Creators Update, version 1709.
3) Install an ad block extension, from the Windows Store, to the Edge Browser. You will be surprised how fast the Edge Browser is when ads are being blocked.
The only negative is that i wish HP had installed an ssd in such a highly spec"d computer.
I would definitely buy again.

A lot to like, and not like

I have over the ear noise cancelling headphones and I have in ear headphones which are not noise cancelling. So I thought these Sony WF1000x would be the perfect combination of the best features of my other headphones. Noise cancelling without the bulk of over the ear headphones.
Let's start with the good:
I have never been into unboxing, but Sony has done a great job of packaging this product and it makes a great presentation when you open it.
These headphones have the look and feel of a quality product. They are small and very light weight. Sony provides you with a total of seven pair of ear pieces, 4 rubber and 3 foam, in varying sizes to insure a secure and comfortable fit. And, when you find the right piece for your ear, they are very comfortable.
They come with a storage case which also is the charger. Not only will this case recharge your headphones, but it has its own built in battery which can recharge the headphones 2 additional times. Each charge should last about 3 hours giving you a total of 9 hours before you have to plug the storage case back into an outlet.
When you take the headphones out of the storage case they will automatically turn on and connect to your paired device.
There is only 1 button on each earpiece. The button on the left will turn on noise cancellation, allow ambient sound, or turn the power off. If you hold it down for 7 seconds it will pair with a new device.The right button will tell you the battery level and will answer phone calls and texts.
I found that the sound quality was excellent. Clarity was amazing, sound can go very loud, but if you are into bass these are not for you.
So why only 3 stars? Well there are some major flaws.
The noise cancelling is not very effective. In fact, there were many occasions where I could not tell noise cancellation was on, even though the headphones said it was. Now, I don't listen at high volume, so maybe the noise cancellation becomes more effective at louder volume.
There is a significant delay when watching video on my phone, tablet or computer. The voice is at least a full second behind the video. It makes it unuseable for watching video. Strangely, if you have only the left earpiece on there is no delay, however as soon as you put the right earpiece on you get the delay.
These headphones will only connect to 1 devie at a time and to make things worse it does not tell you which device it is connected to. So if you have your phone, tablet and laptop on, which I do, you have no idea which device the headphones just connected to.
I had 1 other issue. When you turn the power off and then turn it back on, sometimes only the left headphone comes back on. I found that you have to press the button on the right headphone a couple of times and hold it down to get it to reconnect. I also found that putting the headphones back in the storage box and taking them back out will restore the right headphone.
I hope that some or all of these issues can be corrected by a firmware update and are not a hardware issue.
This is a premium product at a premium price so until some of these issues are resolved I cannot recommend this product.

The noise cancelling is not very effective. In fact, there were many occasions where I could not tell noise cancellation was on, even though the headphones said it was. Now, I don't listen at high volume, so maybe the noise cancellation becomes more effective at louder volume.
There is a significant delay when watching video on my phone, tablet or computer. The voice is at least a full second behind the video. It makes it unuseable for watching video. Strangely, if you have only the left earpiece on there is no delay, however as soon as you put the right earpiece on you get the delay.
These headphones will only connect to 1 devie at a time and to make things worse it does not tell you which device it is connected to. So if you have your phone, tablet and laptop on, which I do, you have no idea which device the headphones just connected to.
I had 1 other issue. When you turn the power off and then turn it back on, sometimes only the left headphone comes back on. I found that you have to press the button on the right headphone a couple of times and hold it down to get it to reconnect. I also found that putting the headphones back in the storage box and taking them back out will restore the right headphone.
I hope that some or all of these issues can be corrected by a firmware update and are not a hardware issue.
This is a premium product at a premium price so until some of these issues are resolved I cannot recommend this product.

I have used Philips Sonicare toothbrushes before and have always considered them to be the best. My last one lasted several years, so it was time to get a new one.
The Diamond Care Smart Toothbrush seemed like the logical replacement. It comes with 3 toothbrushes, one for plaque removal, one for whitening and one for gum care. It also comes with a glass with a dual purpose of.rinsing your moth and recharging your toothbrush
You get a very nice travel case too.. Everything from the toothbrushes to the travel case looks attractive and is obviously high quality.
The main unit is Bluetooth compatible and connects to a Philips app which is intended to guide you thru plaque removal , whitening and gum care programs. It also supposed to show you which sections of your teeth you are brushing correctly and which areas you may have missed. The toothbrush will also illuminate at the bottom if you are applying too much pressure and gives a beep every 30 seconds to alert you to move on the next section in your mouth. Ideally you will spend a total of 2 minutes brushing your teeth. It will also alert you when it is time to change the toothbrush.
So how does all of this work? Well , for the most part the toothbrush delivers. It cleans your teeth about as well as you can imagine. The product is easy to use, very attractive and of high quality.
My gripe is with the app. I found it to be annoying to pair with my mobile device and I thought that the chart that analyzes the cleaning to be inaccurate. It would tell me that I completely missed a section of my mouth, which of course I didn't. I stopped using the app after a couple of days.
The bottom line is I am very happy with the product, but I feel like the Philips engineers had too much time on their hands and added unnecessary options and unnecessary cost to this product by adding the Bluetooth and the app. The Philips Sonicare line is the best toothbrush product line on the market. I just think you could buy a lower model, without all the bells and whistles and be just as happy

Almost Perfect, But....

Out of the box, the Philips Avance Smokeless Indoor Grill impresses you with quality build and simplicity.
there are only 3 parts. The main unit, the cooking grid and the slide out drip tray. You can take it out of the box and be ready to grill almost immediately. It is easily large enough to cook for a family of 4 but not so large that you wouldn't want in in your kitchen.
The power switch has 2 settings, full power and keep warm. Full power heats to 446 degrees and maintains that exact temperature throughout the cooking process and provides even heat all over the cooking surface.
There is an instruction booklet which also provides suggested cooking times and is very easy to follow. There is also a suggested warm up time of 6 minutes prior to placing your food on the grill.
So far, I have cooked salmon and steak. Both cooked perfectly with a crunchy sear on the outside and juicy perfection on the inside.
To clean you must wait at least 30 minutes for everything to cool down. I found the cooking grid and the slide out drip tray to be extraordinarily easy and fast to clean.
However, the interior walls are very difficult to clean. The instruction booklet will tell you to just wipe with a damp cloth. That didn't work. I then tried Dishwashing detergent with hot water, nope. I finally had to use a ceramic cleaner with a lot of elbow grease to get it clean. And, this why I deducted 1 star.
Pros: Easy to set up and use. Grills food perfectly
Cons: Very difficult and time consuming to clean interior walls

Good Sound, Major Design Flaws

The first problem I had with the JBL Everest 750NC headphones was with the Bluetooth connectivity. It seemed as if the signal was dropping and reconnecting every second so that I was only hearing 1/2 of each word. I tried it on various devices and the result was always the same. I have Bose QC35 headphones that have no such problem connecting with the same devices. Therefore, I can only review these as wired headphones.
Despite good sound from these headphones, I found that the more I used them, the more I found not to like about them.
1) You can only connect to 1 device at a time. I cannot watch a movie on my tablet and also receive a telephone call. This is a major oversight for headphones in this price range.
2) I find the ambient noise adjustments to be nothing more than a gimmick. You buy noise cancelling headphones to keep noise out and even when the ambient noise is set to zero, they are not as good as the Bose.
3) There is no way to know exactly how much power you have left. A light will flash when the battery is low, but in between you are in the dark. The Bose will tell you exactly how much power you have every time you turn the headphones on. I cannot comment on how long the battery lasts because I find that I am always charging them prior to each use since I don't know what power is left.
4) The control buttons are very hard to distinguish without looking at them. it simply takes too much time to figure out which button you are pressing, and the buttons feel cheap.
On the positive side, I did like the sound (wired), And, the ear cups are comfortable.
Due to the design flaws and the unusable Bluetooth, I cannot recommend these headphones.

NO, the keyboard and the mouse are completely wireless without any way to connect by wire. You would have to get a wired keyboard and mouse and attach them via usb to the back of the computer

Would I be able to plug in a console to it, such as an Xbox? Does it have the channel input?
I am not familiar with the Xbox, but this computer does have an HDMI IN port, so if the Xbox has an HDMI OUT, I think it might work.

Hi. I just bought this and the screen continually adjusts the brightness/contrast automatically. I've searched everywhere and did the fixes stated online but with no improvement. Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks!
I don't have this problem. I did install all of the driver updates, and there were a lot ( maybe 20). Try using the Dell Support Assist to locte and install all of the driver updates and see if that helps.

Hello, I bought the my xps 2 days ago. I am really concern about the cooling system because it is way too warm. Compare to my friend MacBook Air, it's Much warmer. Does anybody feel the laptop too warm? Even when It is just on charge Or in light use...
I found it to be hot while installing all of the driver updates, but it has been cool since. Make sure to install all of the driver updates. There are a lot of them.

what type of anti virus software does it have?
Windows Defender Security Center is the only one provided. I have found it to be the best. It is effective, does not slow down your computer and it is free from Microsoft . It should be the only one you will need.
