The Smartest Smartphone

I have been fully integrated onto the Google ecosystem for years. With Google Home controlling numerous devices in my home from tvs to doorbells, speakers etc. My first Pixel phone was the Pixel 4, then the Pixel 6, and now the Pixel 7.
The Pixel phones are so much more than just a smartphone. The new Tensor G2 chip takes the Google Assistant integration to a new level.
Phone calls:
Google Assistant can screen your incoming calls. It will answer your calls and ask why the other party is calling. You can follow along as the conversation is transcribed., and then decide if you want to answer. You can have it screen all of your calls or just unknown numbers.
Outgoing calls can of course be made by telling Google to call a contact. If you are calling a business the Assistant will tell you how long the wait time will be, and then it will list the numbers for each option you will be offered, so that you don’t have to wait and listen for all of the options to be read to you. Btw, the wait time listed by Google is often more accurate than that of the company you are calling.
If you are put on Hold, the Assistant will hold for you and notify you with a tone when a human is on the line. I found this to be amazingly accurate as it can tell the difference between a recorded voice and a live person. No more waiting endlessly listening to horrible music. Google will do that for you.
Mobile, wifi and Bluetooth signals are all strong. Call sound quality is loud and clear both through the earpiece and speakerphone.
Transcription:
The Google Assistant can accurately transcribe live conversation as fast as you can speak. It will also differentiate between different people who may be speaking. Punctuation is accurate and you can even add emojis. These conversations can also be recorded.
Translation:
Google Assistant can translate live conversation, chat messages and can even translate signs and menus.
Conversations can be translated by simply telling Google to be your translator. The signs and menus are translated through Google Lens by pointing your camera. Chatting or speaking with someone who speaks another language is no longer an issue.
For me, living in South Florida, this is something I can’t live without.
Camera:
The Pixel 7 has made improvements from an already fantastic camera in the Pixel 6.
The selfie camera now has a wider field of view and can record in 4k.
Night Mode, which was already excellent, now allows you to modify the shutter speed.
Cinematic Blur has been added to video. Face Unblur can now take blurry pictures and make them clear. It even works on pictures that were taken on another device.
And of Course Magic Eraser, one of my favorite features, lets you remove any unwanted person or object from a picture. This
Feature will only work on photos taken on your device.
Photos in all lighting conditions are crisp with fine detail and natural colors. Natural skin tones are more accurate than with any other phone I have seen.
Safety:
The Pixel 7 will detect if you are in an accident and call 911. You can also have a list of contacts that it will call in case of emergency.
VPN: By the end of the year Google will be offering free VPN an exclusive feature to the Pixel phones.
Battery:
Charging the phone will take about 1 ½ hours to fully charge from about 10%.
My Pixel 6 battery always lasted more than a full day, and so far the Pixel 7 seems to deliver the same.
Hardware:
The physical differences between the Pixel 6 and 7 are more of a refinement than a wholesale change. But in total those refinements make a big difference. The screen has gone from 6.4” to 6.3”. Doesn’t sound like much but it does feel more comfortable in the hand. It is a flat 90hz Full HD screen. Brightness outdoors has been improved. I spend much time outdoors each day in the bright Florida sun wearing dark sunglasses. Where I had difficulty reading the screen on the 6, I have no trouble at all on the 7. Power and volume buttons have been placed lower on the side. Again a small change, but they feel better positioned in the hand. The camera bar now has brushed aluminum which looks more premium. The camera bar is now shallower, however I use a protective case so it still protrudes. This is a positive to me, as I use the camera bar to grip the phone in landscape mode and to rest my fingers on in portrait mode.
The only issue I ever had with my Pixel 6 was the fingerprint reader. It was poor at the beginning, however it dramatically improved over time through Google firmware updates. The first few times I used the fingerprint reader on the Pixel 7 it failed to read properly. The phone gives you an option of recording up to 4 fingerprints. I registered the same finger all 4 times and now it is pretty reliable. Not perfect, but much more reliable. It still has occasional difficulty especially in bright sunlight.
However, Google has added Face Unlock which alleviates much of the angst caused by the fingerprint reader.
The Face Unlock function works excellently in most lighting conditions. In total darkness it can have difficulty.
In summary, I don’t pay attention to benchmarks or other stats comparing one phone to the next. I care about how I can utilize the features offered by the phone to simplify and enhance my everyday life. To me the Google Pixel is indispensable.
I would recommend this phone to everyone.

High Quality, Great Design, Android Owners Beware

The DJI Osmo Mobile 6 Gimbal is a very high quality, well designed mobile stabilizer.
But as an owner of the Google Pixel 6 I have to point out some of the negatives right from the start.
First, the DJI MIMO app is not available in the Google Play Store. In order to download the app you must go into settings and allow download and installation of apps from unknown sources. That’s right, you must download an app from a Chinese company directly, without being verified by Google. This of course is accompanied by a warning that downloading this app may cause harm to your device and other apps on your device. Not very comforting. In addition, not all features work on Android phones. Each phone model is different and therefore this may vary by device.
Also, I found that my phone was hotter in the Osmo than it is normally when its in camera mode, and the battery drained much quicker.
One other issue is the magnetic clip holder. It goes on the Pixel phone on top of the volume switch. If placed exactly in the middle of the phone it presses on the down volume switch and turns the volume all the way down.
The focus scroll wheel is also not functional with my Pixel phone.
The device itself is very high quality, very ergonomically designed. It is very well balanced in the hand and does not cause hand fatigue. All buttons and switches are placed within easy reach.
DJI has videos in the app to fully explain the operation of each switch.
In the box you get the magnetic phone clip, the stabilizer unit, an attachable tripod and a charging cable.
After you download the app, the Osmo 6 will automatically turn on when you attach the phone and off when the phone is removed.
One of my favorite features is face lock while in video. Your phone will lock on your face and follow you around. You can place the phone in the Osmo with the tripod, put it on a flat surface and record yourself while moving, and the camera will follow you. A push of a button will automatically switch between portrait and landscape.
Image stabilization is of course a main reason for buying this device and it performs better than any phone by itself.
There is a scroll wheel for zooming in and out as well as a button for switching between video and photo.
There are way too many features to mention, however DJI does a great job of explaining the functions in video and with hints that appear on the screen.
I would love to recommend this device, and I would to any iPhone user. But if you are an Android user I would weigh the positives and negatives before purchasing. I don’t know why DJI has put Android users in this situation and I hope that this situation changes sooner rather than later. This could easily be a5 start review if not for the software issues for Android.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Versatile, Well Designed, But 1 Big Omission

The Ninja Foodie Power Mixer System is a versatile, powerful, and beautifully designed kitchen appliance.
In the box you get the power base, immersion blender attachment, mixer attachment, 2 beaters, 1 whisk, a 3 cup blending container, a quick start guide, and a recipe book which also explains how and when to use each attachment.
There is a QR code on the power base which will direct you to an instruction manual, quick start guide, recipe book frequently asked questions and registration.
But missing from this model is the chopper attachment. This is unfortunate as this may have ended up being the most useful accessory for me. I don’t know how much that accessory will cost as an option, but I’m sure it’s more than if it were included in this package, even at additional cost. I would imagine that the great majority of people buying this would want the chopper accessory. I am deducting 1 star for this omission from what would otherwise be a solid 5 star product.
Also not included, is a storage bag. Other products of this type, even less expensive ones usually include a storage bag.
Out of the box the first thing you notice is how attractive this is with a matte black finish and metal accents. The power base has enough weight to exude quality, yet it is so well designed that it is comfortable to hold, and so well balanced when attached to the mixer attachment or the immersion blender. Definitely no hand fatigue when using.
The power base has an on/off button and a turbo button for extra power. The mixer attachment has buttons for power, turbo, increase and decrease speed, and an eject button. All attachments are easy to install and uninstall.
This is very powerful with 750 watt peak output, yet it was quieter than expected. In fact it was exactly twice as powerful as the product we were using, which this is replacing.
We tried whipping egg whites and blending cake and pancake batters, all performed perfectly. The immersion blender was used in the preparation of soup, and again, it performed as expected with no issues.
Cleanup was quick and easy. Just wipe the power base and mixer attachment with a moist towel. The rest of the attachments can go in the dishwasher.
Overall, you will definitely be pleased, with the look, feel and performance of the Ninja Foodi Power Mixer System.
However, you may be disappointed, as I was, that the food chopper attachment is not included in this package.

Compact, Ergonomic, High Quality

The Shark WandVac Power Pet cordless handheld vacuum Is a high quality, versatile and ergonomic household device.
In the box you get the vacuum, a charging dock base, a crevice tool, a pet hair tool and an accessory storage attachment which connects to the docking base.
The first thing I did was fully charge the vacuum in the base which took over 2 hours. A full charge from empty can take up to 3.5 hours. Once fully charged the vacuum will run for approximately 35 minutes depending on the mode in which you operate the vacuum. When you turn it on, it is set to Deep Clean mode which optimizes your battery. There is a power boost button for those times when you need additional suction. I found that Deep Clean mode was powerful enough for most cleaning situations.
To use the included accessories all you have to do is slide them on and off as needed.
Cleaning debris from the vacuum is as simple as pressing a button. The dust bin cover will pop open and the debris will fall out.
There is also an easily accessible filter located in the dust bin which can be removed and cleaned, and can also be rinsed under water.
When holding the vacuum in your hand you really appreciate the ergonomics. It is so light and well balanced that it does not create any hand fatigue. It is also very attractively designed so that you can leave it out anywhere in your house.
Due to its very slim design, it is also perfect for getting into all of the small spaces in your car.
The only criticism that I have is that I think it is a little too loud. However, that is probably due to the power that this small vacuum produces.
Overall I am very happy with this vacuum. It is high quality, very well designed and comes with all of the accessories you will need.
I would highly recommend this to everyone.

Compact, Versatile, Great for Travel

The Insignia 65W Dual Port USB-C Compact Wall Charger fills an important need for any one who travels or has limited power outlets available.
It has a total available 65w output if you are using one port to charge a single device, or it will output 45w and 20w respectively when using 2 ports. This will allow you to charge your phone and a small laptop simultaneously.
It is important to note that the usb-c cables are not included, and that you must use cables that are capable of at least 65 watts in order to achieve the best results from this charger.
It is relatively small at just over 2”x2”x1”, and the prong is retractable making this great for travel.
I was able to charge my Surface Laptop and my Pixel phone simultaneously, with the Pixel phone indicating that it was charging rapidly.
The ability to charge 2 devices while only using 1 outlet comes in very handy while traveling, as well as finding an unoccupied outlet at home.
While in use the charger gets only slightly warm. I also like the white color which blends onto the white color of my outlets and walls.
It appears to be a high quality product and I would highly recommend it.

Great Sound, Feature Rich, Easy Setup

In the box you get the Sony HT-A3000 soundbar, a power cable, an HDMI cable, a center speaker cable for a Sony TV, and a quick setup guide.
First impression is that the soundbar looks and feels like a high quality device with a solid feel and nice weight for it’s size.
At 38” wide, it is smaller than top of the line soundbars, yet it is wide enough to look like it belongs in front of my 65” tv.
At 2 1\2” high it will fit under many tv’s, but unfortunately it did not fit under mine.
Inputs/outputs are minimal. There is 1 HDMI eARC, 1 optical, 1 audio port and 1 usb.
Setup was as easy as any device I have ever used. Just connect the HDMI cable to the ARC/eARC port on your tv, plug in the power cable and you are ready to go. The soundbar has digital buttons on the top for power, input, Bluetooth and music.
It has a center speaker, 2 side speakers and 2 sub speakers with side vents.
It will process DTS-X and Atmos, however there are no up firing speakers. Instead Sony creates virtual speakers with its 360 Spacial Sound Mapping. The mapping takes just seconds and the results are quite impressive. Sound seems to come from all over your room. But in order to do this you must add a set of wireless rear speakers which are not included.
The soundbar on its own is good. Dialogue is very clear and the remote has a voice enhancement button which emphasizes the dialogue even more. By itself the soundbar would be good for a bedroom or a small den. With the addition of the rear speakers and an optional subwoofer the soundbar now becomes more appropriate for a medium sized den or master bedroom. I have mine placed in our master bedroom where we have a 65” tv that we had barely used. Now that we have the Sony HT-A3000 installed, we are watching tv in there much more often.
The HT-A3000 also had Chromecast built-in and works with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, allowing you to use your voice to power the soundbar and to cast music.
The remote is small, but it has buttons for inputs and voice enhancement, as well as separate volume controls for the rear speakers and subwoofer.
There is one quirk . You can’t play music without the tv coming on. Then if you use the Sony remote to turn the soundbar off, the TV stays on.
Overall, this is an excellent soundbar especially when adding the optional rear speakers and subwoofer. Movie soundtracks fill the room and music is outstanding.
I would highly recommend this to anyone for a medium sized den or master bedroom.

The Phillips Sonicare Power Flosser 3000 Cordless is a very effective easy to use flosser. It is small enough to fit in your hand comfortably, yet it holds an adequate amount of water once you become proficient using it. It comes with 2 flossing heads. One has a single flow of water and one is a quad head which has 4 jets of water covering a wider area of your teeth. I prefer the single flow head which was easier for me to direct to a specific area.
Also included is a wall adapter and a USB A to USB C cable. It is easy to use and holds a charge for 2 weeks. Filling the tank with water is easy and can be accomplished by either opening a valve or by removing the tank.
The overall design is very good, however I have had one issue. The power button is way too sensitive and it's located where your fingers grip the device. I have accidentally turned it on and off numerous times. Sometimes hitting myself in the face or spraying around the bathroom.
I also wish that a travel case was included.

Removes Plaque, Some Issues, No Travel Pouch

The Philips Sonicare Cordless Power Flosser 3000 comes with a standard nozzle which is designed for cleaning between teeth, and a quad stream nozzle which sends the water stream in 4 directions simultaneously in order to clean more of the surface of your teeth.
Also included is a power adapter, a usb-a to usb-c cable, an instruction manual and a quick start guide.
I tried to charge the flosser before using it, but it indicated that it was fully charged after about 10 minutes which means it shipped almost fully charged. The charge is designed to last for 14 days.
The design of the flosser is very well thought out with one annoying exception.
First of all, the overall design is excellent. It is comfortable to hold and operate. The tips are easy to insert and remove. The water tank can be filled either through an opening on the side or by removing and then re-attaching the water tank.
There is a power on/off switch, 3 Intensity settings and Clean and Deep Clean modes.
The Clean mode has a pacer that will pause and prompt you to move on the next quadrant of your teeth. The Deep Clean mode will vary between strong and soft pulses prompting you to move to the next tooth.
This is my first power flosser so there was definitely a learning curve. The first couple of days my mirror, sink counter top and even my face and hair ended up wet. After a few days I have become much more proficient with the flosser, however I do have a couple of issues.
First, the power on/off button is located right under where you grip the device. I have inadvertantly turned the flosser on or off many times.
Second, the water tank is simply not big enough. I have to refill it at least once each time.
Now, I realize that the tank size was a compromise between size and comfort. Too big and it becomes to heavy and awkward to operate. Too small and you have to keep refilling it.
Third, the standard nozzle has a hard plastic tip which is easy to feel so you know exactly where you are cleaning. However, the Quad nozzle has a soft rubber tip which is hard to feel making it difficult to know exactly where the tip is on your teeth.
Fourth, as comfortable as it is to hold and operate, it is definitely not as comfortable as a countertop plug in flosser.
Which brings me to my final conclusion.
This is a great flosser for travel. Yet, despite talking about the travel pouch in the instruction book, there is No Travel Pouch included.
A counter top unit would be easier to hold and have a larger water tank.
I would recommend the Philips Sonicare Cordless Power Flosser 3000 to anyone who wants to keep up their oral hygiene routine while traveling. It does an excellent job of cleaning between your teeth and on the surface of your teeth. But for your home I would recommend a countertop unit.

The Dell Inspiron 16” 2 in 1 laptop has exceeded my every expectation.
To start with the Atlantic Green color is beautiful and unique.
In the box, along with the laptop, you get the charger and a pen with batteries and extra tips.
My laptop came with a 60% charge. I immediately plugged in the charger as I knew that this would be necessary for the Bios updates.
Setup was as fast and updates from Dell and Microsoft were installed quickly and without issue.
It quickly connected to my wifi network and maintains a strong and uninterrupted connection.
The Dell Inspiron came with an Intel i7 12th generation processor, 16gb of ram, 512gb ssd and a beautiful OLED screen.
Windows Hello facial recognition and a fingerprint sensor are also included.
The backlit keyboard is excellent with great visibility, good travel and bounce back when striking the keys. I found it very easy and comfortable to type. The hinge actually raises up the rear of the keyboard when the laptop is opened, making for a much more comfortable typing experience. The hinge is very smooth with no excess movement when utilizing the 2 in 1 features or when touching the screen by hand or using the pen. It easily converts to tent mode for watching videos and tablet mode.
The OLED display has a minimal bezel which allows this 16” laptop to have the footprint of many 15” laptops. In fact it fits into a sleeve designed for a 15” laptop.
The display has touch and pen support, and Dell even includes the pen.
Dell has eliminated the number keypad and has placed excellent speakers on both sides of the keyboard.
The camera is 1080p and provided excellent quality video along with very clear audio on video calls.
The mousepad is large and operates smoothly and accurately with good feel.
Alexa is also built in.
I have not yet measured exact battery life, but so far I am very satisfied with the length of time between charges.
In summary, there is so much to like about this laptop and absolutely nothing has been disappointing.
Whether watching videos, making video calls, surfing the web, or using business and productivity software, the Dell Inspiron 16”
2 in 1 laptop was a joy to use. It is fast, has a vibrant Oled screen, a comfortable and accurate keyboard and mousepad.

High Quality, Modern Style, But Not Perfect

The Ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium is packaged nicely with everything you will need for installation included in the box.
I already had the Ecobee app installed as I have other Ecobee products in my home. In the app you click on add a device, choose the thermostat and it will provide step by step instructions which are very easy to follow. You should only need a phillips head screwdriver.
Ecobbe even includes identifying stickers to attach to the wires of your old thermostat before removing them. It is very helpful when attaching the wires to the Ecobee. The entire installation just took a few minutes. I needed the included wallplate to cover a rectangular cutout in the drywall from my old thermostat. Connecting to a wifi network is done on the thermostat, and it was quick and easy.
It is important to turn all power to the a/c off prior to installation. After the power was on and the wifi was connected the Ecobee just took a moment to setup and it was ready to go.
It also took just a moment to add the Ecobee to my Google Home app which allows me to control the thermostat by voice.
For some reason Ecobee has not built in the Google Assistant. I don’t think this is too important as I have Google speakers all over my home, and would probably never use the thermostat as a speaker.
Also included is a room sensor with a stand that magnetically attaches. After pulling the battery tab, the sensor connected immediately. This is the first time I have had a room sensor with a thermostat and I wasn’t sure if I would find it helpful. But I love it. It gives you a better understanding of how the temperature varies in parts of your home which are not located next to the thermostat, and it allows the thermostat to make adjustments to better cool the entire house. Both the thermostat and the room sensor can detect when a room is occupied or vacant.
The Ecobee comes pre programed with 3 schedules for Sleep, Home and Away. But you can customize your own schedules.
The screen of the thermostat is big. It has white font on a black background which is generally easy to read.
However, I do have couple of gripes.
First, the temperature reading is nice and large but the rest of the information is in a very small font. With so much screen real estate I would think they could make the rest of the information larger so that you don’t have to put your reading glasses on to see it.
Secondly, I live in a high rise condominium where the thermostat is mounted just 4 feet from the floor in order to comply with disability requirements. What I discovered is that the screen dims rather quickly when viewed from above or off center. So I find myself bending down to view it at eye level in order to read the screen. I wish there was a brightness setting.
Some features that I really like are:
Air Quality readings, which includes VoC and Co2 readings.
Humidity Levels (I live in South Florida) and weather
Notifications for High Humidity and Maintenance reminders including changing of air filters.
Overall this is an excellent product, simple to install and use. It has a very premium style and would look nice in any home.
The positives definitely outweigh the negatives. I would recommend the Ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium.

NO, the keyboard and the mouse are completely wireless without any way to connect by wire. You would have to get a wired keyboard and mouse and attach them via usb to the back of the computer

Would I be able to plug in a console to it, such as an Xbox? Does it have the channel input?
I am not familiar with the Xbox, but this computer does have an HDMI IN port, so if the Xbox has an HDMI OUT, I think it might work.

Hi. I just bought this and the screen continually adjusts the brightness/contrast automatically. I've searched everywhere and did the fixes stated online but with no improvement. Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks!
I don't have this problem. I did install all of the driver updates, and there were a lot ( maybe 20). Try using the Dell Support Assist to locte and install all of the driver updates and see if that helps.

Hello, I bought the my xps 2 days ago. I am really concern about the cooling system because it is way too warm. Compare to my friend MacBook Air, it's Much warmer. Does anybody feel the laptop too warm? Even when It is just on charge Or in light use...
I found it to be hot while installing all of the driver updates, but it has been cool since. Make sure to install all of the driver updates. There are a lot of them.

what type of anti virus software does it have?
Windows Defender Security Center is the only one provided. I have found it to be the best. It is effective, does not slow down your computer and it is free from Microsoft . It should be the only one you will need.
