These little guys are pricy compared to the aftermarket brands, but I prefer to have OEM equipment myself.
What's great about it: OEM brand
What's not so great: Pricy

Learn more about DualShock 2 Analog Controller for PlayStation 2. (Flash demo) The DualShock 2 Analog Controller brings new dimensions to control — every button (well, except Start and Select) is analog. Want to go faster? Push harder. Want to hit harder? Hit harder. Plus, you can program the buttons. Always wished that attack was O instead of X? Make it so. Full analog and programming capabilities are dependent on in-game support and only work with PlayStation 2, although the DualShock 2 is compatible with PlayStation.

Go with the Logitech wireless controller. It's more comfortable and wireless is way better if you don't mind putting in 2 AA batteries every 3 months or so.
What's great about it: OEM equipment is nice, no batteries
What's not so great: Not as good as the Logitech

This is way better than trying to figure out the controls with a PS3 controller. But you can't just pull it out of the box and start using it. You have to go into the blutooth setup on your system. Not a big deal, just don't forget to do it.
What's great about it: Intuitive control
What's not so great: Don't forget to set it up.

BUY THIS GAME!

If you don't already have this game, buy the remixed version. It's got more cars than the original game and everything else is the same. Really fun controls, burnouts, powersliding, and up to 5 nitrouses. The cars are sweet, from the new 300C, to a '63 vette, to the SRT-10 Ram & Silverado SS and custom choppers and crotchrockets too. The customization is great in this game. The wheel sizing can be limiting, but hey, at least you have the option of having different size wheels in the front than in the back which awesome for muscle cars. Make no mistake, this is a GREAT arcade style racer. Even after you beat the game, the gameplay is fun.
What's great about it: Sweet cars & bikes of all types, fun races, create your own race
What's not so great: Hard to bust out other racers

I recommend this game, but it doesn't compare to NFSU2 or NFSMW. The cars are sweet (new Lancer EVO, Challanger concept, the old Charger R/T, Porsche Carrera GT, and many more). However, this game came out right around the same time that Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift did. I think that was the inspiration for some of the mountain drift & race events. So it seems like EA got carried away with the drift-style controls. It seems like almost everytime you make a turn, you're drifting, which is not always a good thing.
.
The Autosculpt feature was a new invention in this release which was a cool idea, but I only used it for muslcecar hoods, and (occasionally) exhaust tips and wheels. Otherwise, the autosculpt feature was somewhat dissapointing.
.
I found the menus to be especially annoying too. When you select one thing, take a look at it and go back, it puts you back at the original spot in the menu, not where you left off. So when you're looking through 100+ wheels, having to remember where you were in the list, and scrolling through all that again can be painful.
.
There are a couple races in the challenge series that are REALLY tough and to collect all the rewards cars, you actually have to lose the game (google it to find out how to do this) which I thought was a weird concept. This release is 10x better than ProStreet, so buy this one (or borrow it, because your buddy won't be using it), beat it once, then go back to Most Wanted.
What's great about it: Sweet cars, nice customization options
What's not so great: Steering is too loose, menu controls are dumb

Fun, but repetative

Great graphics, and the cars are fun to drive. However, you're basically on the same 5 or 6 tracks for all 50 or so races and each vehicle only has 3 preset paint jobs to choose from. It'd be nice to customize the vehicles yourself. Gameplay is fun, but sometimes if you rear-end someone, they slam on their brakes and you can't get around, or if you get locked up with another car or two, everyone zooms by you. However, on the other hand, you can be in last place up until half way through the last lap and still win the race. Nice that this game comes with the 80Gb PS3 hardware, but I'm not sure I'd pay $60 for it...if you don't already have it, wait to buy this one til it's down around $30, but do buy it.
What's great about it: Good graphics, cool explosions
What's not so great: Repetative courses, not enough customization
