Good Movie

Ok, so it's kind of a chick-flicky sort of movie, but the cinematography is outstanding and there are worse things that could happen than having to watch Kate Hudson in a swimsuit. Definitely get this one on blu-ray rather than standard DVD.
What's great about it: Graphics are SPECTACULAR.

This isn't a blockbuster, but it's a good friday night movie with the fam or girlfriend. Witty humor and good acting. George Clooney is classic and Renee Zelwiger is sassy.
What's great about it: Good humor, fun acting, interesting story
What's not so great: ?

WARNING: ADDICTING

I downloaded a demo of this game and couldn't get enough, so I had to go buy the full version! The characters are somewhat cartoon-like and get very annoying popping up all the time. It would one thing if they actually spoke a real language, but they just mutter jibberish. That said, that is the only bad thing I can think of about this game.
The difficulty ranges from unbelievably easy to holy-moly hard. You have to simultaneously defend your own cities, learn and use new technologies, take over other cities, and keep your citizens happy. You can choose to be one of 20 or so great historical leaders who have a variety of advantages as you progress through history (from 4000BC to 2100AD).
Victory is achieved by domination, economic, cultural or technological progress. Each game is played against 4 other world leaders and their cultures. Once you defeat one of the other great leaders, it gets a whole lot easier. Getting to the end can be difficult, but FUN!
Can't say enough about this great strategy game.
What's great about it: Playability
What's not so great: Annoying characters

SynopsisThe fronds of the palm trees sway, their graceful dance deceptively peaceful here in the heart of L.A. Under your hood, your engine purrs with approval, and you rev it a few times for a taste of what's to come. The driver next to you responds, revving his own engine in turn, a threat that twists your lips in mockery. Your car's power hums all around you, making your heart pound and your skin tingle with excitement. The asphalt unfurls in front of you and you go tense as the moment approaches. In a flash your foot is on the gas, your car gunning up the street with the other vehicle hot in pursuit. Music thunders around you as trees and landmarks whip by at breakneck speed. This is street racing at its purest, and you are in the driver's seat.Midnight Club: Los Angeles delivers the adrenaline-surge excitement you've come to expect from the Midnight Club franchise in an all-new setting. Get behind the wheel in a dazzling selection of licensed vehicles, including muscle cars, tuners, exotics and motorcycles for thrilling open-world street racing. Customize your ride with licensed aftermarket parts and a decal creation system that lets you put your inimitable style on display and intimidate the competition. Experience L.A. in stunning realism as you race through the streets to the tune of an all-star soundtrack featuring more than 100 pulse-pounding songs. In Midnight Club: Los Angeles, the City of Angels is your playground for truly devilish racing excitement.

I had high hopes for the next of the Midnight Club series. MC3 was a lot of fun and had great "replayability". However, this one was somewhat of a let-down. The movies could have been more realistic, the graphics aren't really all that special, and the steering is much more difficult to control. If you've beaten all of your other racing games and need some variety, go ahead and buy this one, but it should be clear that you're not buying a spectacular game. If you can wait til 11/18, pick up Need For Speed Undercover instead.
What's great about it: Decent story/character interaction (not necessarily a plot)
What's not so great: Graphics are ok, steering is more difficult than previous releases, menus aren't very user friendly

A couple decent songs, but not worth it

The song "Low" isn't the radio cut and it sounds terrible. Most of the other songs suck too...but at least he has a sweet tattoo on his back. 10 cool points for him.

F. Gary Gray's 2003 crime caper remake The Italian Job comes to DVD with this Collector's Edition from Paramount Pictures with a widescreen transfer enhanced for 16 x 9 televisions. Dolby Digital Surround soundtracks are available in English and French with optional English subtitles. Includes the featurettes "Pedal to the Metal: The Making of The Italian Job" and "Putting the Words on the Page for The Italian Job." Another high profile heist movie. Chalk it up next to the Ocean's 11 series. You'll watch this one more than once.
What's great about it: Great storyline
What's not so great: Acting could use some work, but it's not that noticable

Barry B. Benson (voice of Jerry Seinfeld) is your average honeybee. Despite having recently received his diploma from bee college and being virtually guaranteed a bright future in honey, Barry feels he has the skills to pursue a number of different career paths and resents the fact that his employment opportunities are strictly limited to producing the sweet nectar. Upon breaking away from the hive and developing a friendship with an insect-loving New York florist (voice of Renée Zellweger), Barry makes the shocking discovery that human beings eat honey in mass quantities. Having finally found his calling in life, the infuriated Barry decides to sue the human race for stealing all of the honey that his fellow bees work so hard to produce.

Jerry Seinfeld is the kind of guy you like or you hate. I happen to love his humor. If you do too, pick up this movie. It doesn't matter if you have kids or not. You won't be disappointed.

This movie was not what I was expecting. It's just fight after fight and shooting all over for what seems to be no reason. Skip it.
What's great about it: None.
What's not so great: Mindless violence.
