Break it up
on October 10, 2007

To be honest the movie is funny but it's about two people who are in their mid-thirties who act like 12 year olds.People in that age bracket don't seem to fight like children. It's about a couple having problems with their relationship, but neither is willing to give up their condo. What would have been a lot better if they had a younger cast star in the movie.Someone in their 20's would have been more of a believable movie.
What's great about it: Funny,Honest,Capturing an ugly break up
What's not so great: Two people who are in their mid-thirties fighting?

It's most people's worst fears realized in the eight-legged horror-comedy Arachnophobia. Featured in a 1.85:1 non-anamorphic widescreen transfer, this picture looks fairly well-produced, though sports a softness that sometimes hurts the image. While it's frustrating that this movie wasn't given an anamorphic transfer, at least there is a minimal amount of grain, edge enhancement, and shimmer in the picture. Overall, the colors are very vibrant and the black levels solid and even. The audio is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 in English. This is a well-mixed 5.1 soundtrack that utilizes directional effects on many occasions, though the bulk of the soundtrack usually comes from the front and center speakers. All aspects of the dialogue, effects, and music are clear of any excessive distortion or hiss. Also included on this disc are English captions. The only extra features to be found on this disc include a very short production featurette with a few scant interviews by the cast and crew, a theatrical trailer for the film, and some recommendations for other movie titles the viewer might enjoy.

Malcolm D. Lee's comedy Undercover Brother comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. Closed-captioned English soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1, while a French soundtrack has also been recorded in Dolby Digital 5.1. Spanish subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include commentary from the director as well as from star Eddie Griffin, a blooper reel, an alternate ending, deleted scenes, a music video from Snoop Dogg, and a selection of the original short movies that inspired the feature length film. This is a solid release from Universal.

Employing a novel premise and utilizing the comic skills of Steve Martin and Eddie Murphy, Bowfinger remains one of Hollywood's wittiest and most enjoyable attempts at self-satire. Universal's DVD edition is a superb realization of the film's strengths, delivering excellent sound and picture quality and a host of worthy extra features. Director Frank Oz is not known for his visual flamboyance, but the Tinseltown settings do look appropriately glossy on this anamorphic disc. The sound quality is equally high and features both Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS Surround Sound audio tracks. It is the special features on this disc that make it unusually impressive, and they can be accessed from a clever and likeable menu screen. The "Spotlight on Location" featurette is a useful background to the movie, lasting around 24 minutes. Other basic features include the original theatrical trailer, production notes, and some very thorough cast and filmmaker information. Although they total only eight minutes between them, the two best additions are the deleted scenes and outtakes footage. The deleted scenes include an entirely different version of the cast and crew meeting which takes place early on in the film, as well as a funny revelation as to how Martin's character gets the address of Murphy's reclusive movie star. The outtakes include some amusing mishaps on set and some brilliant ad-libbing from the two stars. Director Oz provides the feature commentary, and surprisingly, he concentrates on the technical side of moviemaking, revealing several tricks of the trade when it comes to filming comedy. All in all, this amounts to an exceptional DVD, one that should further enhance Bowfinger's reputation as a first-class comedy.

It's about a producer who hires a look-alike of a action star in hollywood for his movie. If you like the comedy style of Steve Martin, and Eddie Murphy then i would recommend it.

One of the sleeper hits of 1999, Election is the first high school film geared for adults since Blackboard Jungle. The DVD boasts a crisp widescreen transfer and Dolby Digital Surround Sound. The only extra is director Alexander Payne's commentary, which is terrific--insightful, articulate and personal. Listening to the commentary, it becomes clear that Payne didn't make a great film by accident, but through a combination of clear vision and methodical craft. Payne is remarkably frank in discussing his subtle devices, which makes for a great lecture for any aspiring filmmaker.
