Freddy Krueger returns (sans creator Wes Craven) for more terror in A Nightmare on Elm Street, Pt. 2: Freddy's Revenge. New Line has done a great job on this 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer. While there are a few areas that tend to look slightly murky, overall this is an excellent transfer with vibrant colors and well-saturated black levels. Also included on this disc is a pan-and-scan version of the film. The audio is presented in a newly remixed 5.1 soundtrack (as well as the original 2.0 soundtrack). This new mix is good, even if the source materials are a bit dated. Surround usage is present in many different scenes through both the front and rear speakers. Except for some harshness in the dialogue, this mix is free of excessive distortion or hiss. Also included on this disc are English captions. The only extra features available on this edition of A Nightmare on Elm Street, Pt. 2: Freddy's Revenge are some cast and crew bios, the original theatrical trailer, and some DVD-ROM content. While this disc has some nice video and audio portions, the box set of all seven films is recommended for the full effect.

Freddy's back

Not as great as the first Elm Street, maybe because Freddy has more line, but yet this is a good scary movie.
This movie started a decade of sequels, and thats before special effects were computerized. This movie made some adults scared to sleep at night, so of course this is greatness. Although it got worse with every sequel being more comical than scary, but Elm Street set the standard for horror flicks.
The 2003 Vin Diesel vehicle A Man Apart gets its first DVD treatment with this release. The film is presented in both a widescreen transfer that preserves the original aspect ratio as well as a full-screen transfer that is formatted to fit a standard television screen. English soundtracks are available in both Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital Stereo. Additionally, the disc features seven deleted scenes, the original theatrical trailer, and English subtitles.

Too Dramatic

This is a good movie, but everyone is so use to Vin Diesel playing those nothing-but-action type of movies and this one is more dramatic. Very plot driven, with not that much gunplay.
Keenen Ivory Wayans does triple duty as director, writer, and star in this action comedy, which gets a straightforward presentation for its DVD release. A Low Down Dirty Shame has been transferred to disc in letterboxed format at the widescreen aspect ratio of 1.85:1, which has been enhanced for anamorphic playback on 16 x 9 monitors. The audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital 5.1; the dialogue is in English, with no multiple language options, though the feature is closed captioned in English. No bonus materials appear on this edition.

Just a funny action movie with that sassy Jada Pickett, that holds this movie together. Yeah, I know, Mr. Wayans is not a good actor, but he knows who to put in his movies to make them better
Penny Marshall's baseball comedy A League of Their Own gets the special edition two-disc treatment on this release from Columbia/TriStar. The film is presented in a pair of transfers. The widescreen anamorphic transfer preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1, while the 1.33:1 image fills the entire TV frame, giving the film a cramped feel in which characters are often missing from the sides of the picture. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Surround 4.0, while a French soundtrack has been recorded as well. English subtitles are accessible. The disc contains a commentary track recorded by Marshall along with actresses Lori Petty, Tracy Reiner, and Megan Cavanagh. As with most commentaries recorded a decade or more after a film's initial release, the track has the feel of a high-school reunion. In this case that is a good thing, as all four women are good storytellers and offer plenty of humorous anecdotes about the making of the film. Marshall also discusses the struggle she had with the studio in making sure her vision got to the screen. This is an entertaining commentary that fits the mood of the film perfectly. A second disc offers an impressive 15 deleted scenes with introductions to each by Marshall, a nearly hour-long making-of documentary, filmographies of the stars, and the music video for Madonna's "This Used to Be My Playground." This disc is, pardon the obvious pun, a home run.

There's No Crying in Baseball

Tom Hanks went back to his comedian roots, with this funny movie about the first season of WMLB. Surprisly Madonna plays herself as beseball player, what a stretch, and Rosie O'Donnell is just as funny as the rest of top players in this comedy
Hollywood must be having problems with making original movies because with these sequels, and remakes are getting ridiculous. This movie was done before, as a comedy, you remember Gena Davis and Samuel L. Jackson in The Long Kiss Goodnight. Yes this movie is more dramatic with alot killing, but it has the same plot as Long Kiss just with a male twist.
Rob Reiner's Best Picture Oscar nominee A Few Good Men comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic 2.35:1 transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio. An English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Surround, while Spanish and French soundtracks are recorded in Dolby Digital Mono. Spanish and Korean subtitles are accessible. There are no substantial extra materials, which is something of a surprise considering the film's popular and critical success. Fans of the film will appreciate the great picture, but those that were underwhelmed by the film in the theater will find nothing to change their minds on this release.

I really loved this movie, and is one of the reason why I started liking Tom Cruise, if you wanna know the truth-You can't handle the truth. Great line. Demi Moore was good, even with her clothes on. Now Jack was nothing but than great, but did you expect anything less from him.
Bob Clark's perennial holiday favorite A Christmas Story gets the two-disc special-edition treatment from Warner Bros. on this release. The film itself is presented in a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. English and French soundtracks are rendered in Dolby Digital Mono. English, Spanish, and French subtitles are accessible. Supplemental materials include a commentary track recorded by Clark along with stars Peter Billingsley and Melinda Dillon. The second disc contains original recordings of Jean Shepherd, whose work formed the basis for the film and who narrates the film; a making-of documentary; interactive trivia; a pair of featurettes; and the original theatrical trailer. This is a solid disc that will be enjoyed by fans of the film.
