Good but not the best of the three

Shrek The Third is a funny movie, and your kids will enjoy it most likely just as much as the first two. However adults watching the movie will likely see the plot is lacking, and there just wasn't as much fun humor in the third title. The Third has it's moments of usual adult comedy, but again this is seen much less than in the previous titles. A good overall movie, and for fans I would recommend at least giving it a viewing. For casual fans a rental.

Something different from Will Ferrell
on February 26, 2008

This is a very interesting movie from Will Ferrell. If you are a fan of his antics in his other movies, or despise them you will be surprised by the acting that he delivers in Stranger Than Fiction. This movie offers a different type of comedy from Ferrell, as his life is narrated by someone that no one else can hear. His efforts to fight the voice are quite comical. The movie also builds all the way through to the end, and you are left in suspense as to what the end is going to be. There is a very big maturing process that Ferrell's character goes through in this movie. As he is also romantically involved, and as his life seems to be turning around the voice tells him he is going to die. If you are a fan of something different, rather than what Hollywood typically delivers this is a pretty good movie. The Blu-Ray offering is nice as the sound quality and picture is excellent.

Another Good Zombie Movie

28 Weeks Later is the follow up to 28 Days Later and is just another well done zombie movie. I have to say even on Blu Ray the zombies still look very really, and I would go as far as saying they look more real, because of the picture quality. I have to say for a zombie movie the attempt to show the connection of the family that you follow is pretty well done. It's also interesting as this family could possibly be the key to solving the rage virus, or spreading it further. If you liked the first one you will like the sequel. The sequel doesn't have the twist that you got at the end of the last one, but you will still enjoy it. Lots of zombies, guns, and blood. If that's your thing then you will want to see 28 Weeks Later.

Half Decent Romantic Comedy

I'd have to agree with the other reviewer do not buy this film on Blu Ray as the film itself is not worth the money. All Blu Ray really gives you in this film is the chance to be able to see how bad Dane Cooks acne scars are. This movie tries to be funny with Rowan Atkinson like comedy, but with Jessica Alba playing that role. As you can guess it's really not that funny. The only funny parts are when Dane Cook is doing his stand up style of comedy in the film, and just like with all his other starring roles, he rarely gets to bring that into the film. In the end this movie follows the same old romantic comedy plot line, and the parts when Dane Cook is trying to smother Alba, it just isn't funny. If it wasn't for the insane amount of female nudity in this movie and over the top love making scenes the comedy of Alba and Cook is childish. And for those thinking Alba bears anything is this film. Stay away.

Good Plot Twist
on February 11, 2008

Flightplan is a movie about a woman who has just lost her husband in an accident, and is now moving from Germany to New York with her daughter. When watching this movie the entire time you don't know who to believe. You are constantly trying to figure out if the above information is true or that Jodie Foster is crazy. And when the one big twist that you thought was coming is dropped halfway through the movie, you just don't know what's next. However this is when this movie goes from psychological thriller to bad action movie. Overall I really liked how I wasn't sure who to believe the entire movie. However, towards the end when things turn into a bad action flick this one just starts to struggle. A great movie overall and would definitely recommend it for the great plot twist. However once you know what happens you likely are not going to be as intrigued by this one the second time around. Much like the Sixth Sense in that way.

Decent Romantic Comedy

Must Love Dogs is a pretty funny movie poking fun at the world of internet dating. It has some hilarious scenes like the condom scenes and the partridge family singing part. The only let down was the lack of these scenes, as there are only a hand full. It just seems as though it drags a little during the transition from the middle to the end of this movie. However, the story is good enough to keep you interested in what will happen, as there is a little twist that tries to throw you off the obvious. I would suggest seeing this movie if you are into this genre of movies.

Just Not That Funny

With this cast you would think Mr. Woodcock would be really funny. However, this one falls very far short of funny. Granted it does have some funny parts, they are just to few and far between, to give this movie any better of a rating. I would recommend renting before buying if you are a fan of the actors. Overall just a poorly done movie.

Good Family Comedy
on January 22, 2008

Wild Hogs is a very good family comedy. It's basic plot is about a group of good friends that are in a motorcycle club. They are all having life issues, and decide to go out on a unplanned road trip with their bikes. Along the way they manage to get themselves in never ending trouble, while making some good friends along the way. As well as becoming better friends as they learn more about each other. With the cast in this movie alone you would expect a very good movie. And this movie lives up to it's standards. It's a very family friendly comedy so don't expect some of the usual laughs you see from the actors in Wild Hogs. However the actors really pull it all off and you will get a lot of good clean laughs out of Wild Hogs. As far as it being in the Blu-Ray format, the look and sound of the movie is great. However, the extras are a little weak. All around a good movie and worth your time, especially if you're looking for a family comedy that adults will also enjoy.

Just Missed With This One
on January 18, 2008

Kane and Lynch is a game that could really be an awesome game. I personally like first person shooters myself, and this game being a third person shooter, I will admit that the controls took a little bit of time to get used to. The part of the game that I really feel missed though is the storyline. They have created two really great characters with Kane and Lynch, and I feel they didn't capitalize on creating an engulfing storyline to go with them as much as they could. I've heard rumors because of the sales of this game that they will release a sequel, and I can only hope that the storyline is done better. Other than that the game is very violent and contains an outrageous amount of cursing. I would advise that if you have children you not let them in the room while you play this game. The missions are really fun though, and you will be surprised by the difficulty of the game, even on the easiest setting. Overall I think this game needs work, but I would recommend it for it's missions and it's originality or characters, even if underdeveloped.
What's great about it: Great Missions, Original Characters
What's not so great: Underdeveloped Storyline

Great Working Remote
on January 18, 2008

If you have purchased the PS3 and are now looking to use it for Blu-Ray movies, or that was your main purpose for your purchase, you should definitely pick up this remote. The Playstation 3 controller can be used as a remote, but as usual is very clunky, and you will become tired of navigating it's slow and tired menu system. The Sony Blu-Ray Remote however can be linked to the system very easily, and then will work with the system easily from there on out. You have the ability to turn the system on, and navigate every feature on the PS3 with the remote. You also have the ability to just pause the movie and hit play again on the remote. Compared to if you are using the controller you have to load the button screen, and then find the pause button. Overall a really great product and if you are going to be using your PS3 for Blu-Ray movies this is a must have.

can i get the internet on the xbox 360 with a wireless router

If you mean can you connect to the internet with the Xbox 360 with a wireless router yes you can. You can either hard wire with an ethernet wire that connects to your router and then to the back of your xbox. Or you can buy the microsoft wireless adapter that will pick up your wireless routers signal. This is typically a 100.00 item but can be purchased in some places for much less. If you are asking can you use the 360 as a internet browser it is the only console that does not have one.

My Playstation 3 is freezing on me.

I just got my playstation 3 for x-mas and if i play more than 1 game of Madden 09 in a row it freezes at the begining of the second game in the screen where u make your play choices. Is this a problem with my system or the game?
This can be both the system or the game. I would attempt to borrow someone elses Madden and see if that disc is working.

If you have any other games are they also doing this? If they are then it's more likely the PS3 and not your game. If your other games do this then I would call Sony and report the problem to them. You may need to send your PS3 in for repair. The majority reason the PS3 freezes is it's too hot. If your PS3 out in the open and able to breathe? Or is it enclosed in a entertainment center? If it's a 60 GB version there has been some minimal reports of failures regarding freezing as the first sign.

If none of your other games are doing this then your game may be the problem. Is the game updated or are you canceling the updates and just playing? If you borrow someone elses Madden 09 and it works then it's your disc. Try calling EA or returning it. Unfortunately you are likely not going to get much help if it's the disc. EA may send you another one. Good luck with that.

A side note is that EA games especially Madden has been released with a lot of flaws including ones that made the games unplayable. I would search the internet for information regarding this.

ps3 and wii

I love to buy a ps3 before that i want to make sure that I can play tennis on ps3 like I do on my wii using the wii remote like tennis racket??
The PS3 does have motion sensing controllers. However, they do not use them in the same way as the Nintendo Wii does. So you will not be able to play tennis on the PS3 like you do on the Wii.

wireless controllers

does the wireless controller have to be pointed directly at the console like an IR remote? or can it be used with console in an open front stereo rack that is not infront of tv but on adjacent wall. No walls in between but console would be off to the side in the stereo rack facing perpendicular to tv.
The PS3 uses blue tooth in it's wireless controllers which do not need to be directly pointed at the system in order to work. Therefore, you should be able to place the PS3 where you want and still have it work.

The only problem I could see is if you had the PS3 extremely far away.
