I have no played Forza 3 for about 6 hours time. This is by far a great upgrade from the previous version of the game. First the graphics are a real step up from Forza 2. You can really see detail in the roadway, stands, environments, and now there is also a fairly well done in car view that you can drive from.
The car customization continues to be a major plus for this game as they have added a couple more tweaks that you can do to the cars as well as a lot more to the livery editor. Also they have added a storefront where you can buy cars, decals, and car designs. This is great since now you can specifically buy a car design for a car rather than just trying to find a car that has a particular design on it that you like. Also, for people that are creating great designs you can be addes as a favorite by buyers and sell any of your designs over and over again. There is also a sort option that lets you sort out the most downloaded, top rated, and newest. But as I said if you are not great with the editor you can buy a design for a car that you have rather than buying an entire car like Forza 2. There is also a great option now to quick upgrade your car. So if you have a D class car but want it to be a top of the line C class car you go to quick upgrade and it will suggest the best upgrades for the class that you want your car to fit into. If you feel the computer is asking you to spend too much of your credits you can take certain upgrades off the list that you don't want.
I have yet to try the online portion of the game so I won't comment on that. The season play though is very well done. It appears that there are 7 seasons that you will progress through and each time it will get longer and harder to beat. In between the championships for those seasons you get to pick which races you want to complete based on your cars. So if you are in an Audi R8 they will offer you certain races, but if you go into your garage and change to a Porsche 911 they will offer you different races to choose. The only downside to this is it seems that once you choose to do a type of race you have to complete it and may not back out of that series until it’s complete.
The customization of the difficulty of the game continues to be very in depth and it can be changed so that the more serious player can be challenged but the new to racing sims player can jump right in and not be scared off by never to much of a challenge. The greatest addition to this is that there is now a rewind feature added to the game. So if you are playing the game to optimize your credits by having the damage on full and you make a mistake at the end of the race you can rewind a few seconds before your mistake so you can attempt that turn again. This will add penalty time to your laps though for using the rewind feature. The one downfall is that this is probably the biggest change they made to your ability to tune the difficulty.
There is only one real big negative for this game that I can see as of right now. And that is it comes with a second disk that you can download to your HD to get all the cars and tracks. Also all new versions of the game come with a free download card of more tracks and more cars. Which is all fine, but the main problem is the main game runs very slow if it's not installed to the HD. You will actually sit for close to a minute in loading screens. For those of you that don't have a HD for your Xbox this will be a problem as installing all the items for this game is close to 10 gbs. I own the Elite so this is not a problem, but just thought people should know before purchasing that they may want to purchase a HD along with this game if they don't have one.
Despite this little nit pick as it's not a major problem I would rate the game a 5 out of 5 and a must buy for anyone looking to get into racing simulations or for those that are diehard racing sim fans.
What's great about it: The customization of the game has gotten even deeper from the previous entry in the series.
What's not so great: If you don't install the entire game to your HD you will have to deal with very long load times.

Good but could be better

Socom is an online multiplayer game only. There is no single player campaign in this game. The game itself has great maps that are well designed for multiplayer and are a lot of fun, The game also has some of the best player customization of any game out there. You have tons of choices of how you want to have your player look for the different teams and can save all the different set ups in multiple slots. Also you can edit your set up mid game which is not allowed by a lot of other games.
The reason this game was given a 3 out of 5 was because the game was released almost unfinished. The game was endlessly lag filled and the match making process would take forever. Also, you would be dropped out of games for no reason, or after match making forever the server would just drop.
I admit there have been frequent updates to this game and the developers have been fixing the issues on an ongoing basis. So the game since release has become much better. As long as they continue with this trend the game could be a 5 out of 5 someday. I just can't give that high a rating to a game that again takes advantage of the fact that you can release a buggy game and just release patches later. I don't think this should be how developers look at how games are made and released.
As far as the headset that is included it is a little big and the ear piece is pretty good. You can bend it so that it fits tight to your ear. The fact that it is made for gaming makes it a little more worth while. You have a huge mute button on the side which is useful for gaming. Unlike mobile phone head sets that don't really have this feature.
Overall, a good game that continues to get better. If you are a Socom vet you will deal with the flaws and love it. If you are new to the series you may find the flaws i'm talking about a game killer.
What's great about it: Good maps, great player customization
What's not so great: Lots of Lag, In need of Updates

Awesome Game

Fallout 3 is the story of the character that you choose to create and there quest to leave a vault that they have lived in there entire life so far, to find your father who has also just left the vault. Along the way you will find more and more out about your family. You are inside the vault in the first place because nuclear war has taken place and you were lead to believe that there was nothing left outside. However, when you come out of the vault there is a lot going on.
Throughout the game you have endless side quest that can take hundreds of hours to complete as well as you have the choice of how you want to complete them. You can be a very good person, evil, or somewhere in between. In the end your choices will change the storyline of the game as you go. Unlike Oblivion a game also made by Bestheda, the makers of Fallout 3 this game can actually end. You will know when it's going to end so if you wanted to complete any side quest you should do this before ending the game, because you will have to start again or revert to an old save point.
Many people ask if this is just Oblivion with guns. The one thing that I will say is a difference is that unlike Oblivion when you level up in Fallout your enemies do not. So you will become stronger then most of your enemies by the end of the game. Where in Oblivion they leveled up with you. I would also say the tone of this game is very different as it's much more dark. Graphically it also differs as the world is very dull with a lot of browns and blacks.
Overall this game is a 5 out of 5 and is a must for whatever system you bought it on. The only negative to this game is that it is very addictive and you might not stop playing once you've started.
What's great about it: Gameplay, Story
What's not so great: Very Addictive

The first effort from Ligeia is also an amazing one. This is currently one of my favorite's of all time. The entire album all the way through is great. Ligeia brings you a very hardcore sound mixed with some metal and it turns out to be very well done. Some might like some songs more then others, as some are more hardcore oriented while others are more metal. However, the album overall is great. Would recommend this album to anyone looking for a great metalcore album.

Great Album

I'd have to say that this is a great follow-up album from Ligeia. There are some great songs on here that will definitely add to their already good line-up for the live show. I would recommend this to anyone who is a fan of the band already, or those like them. The only flaw with this cd is songs 7 through 9 are slow songs that to me didn't really fit the bands style. One of them is really just a couple of lyrics with some soft guitar strumming and that's it. The other two aren't particularly bad, I just didn't like the style of the songs. Overall the rest of the cd makes up for it with some really great songs. Ligeia also brings the controversial lyrics back on many of the songs especially Hoodrat. The lyrics are included with the album and are legible. Great CD and worth buying.
What's great about it: Another Great CD
What's not so great: Some Filler Songs

Good, but the concept makes it repetitive

In Vantage Point you must watch the movie from the vantage point of a bunch of different people. The way the movie is done is by watching it from each person's different view one by one. Then at the end of the movie after you have pieced it all together, you get to watch the outcome. Vantage Point is actually very well done with some great action scenes. Also, the movie is interesting and each person's perspective let's you piece things together at a nice pace.
However, watching what is literally the same scenes over and over from difference perspectives does get a little redundant. Also, as much as the movie tries to not let you in on the plot it's not that hard to guess who is who, and what side they are on. I would also warn that there are some definite political undertones concerning the war on terrorism and our current president so if you don't want that in your entertainment time, this isn't the movie for you. Overall, a very good movie but I really couldn't get over the repeating from different views. While watching I was hoping that we were done with the different views and we would be able to get on with it. But then there would be another view. I would recommend seeing it though as other's could find the style exciting.
The Blu-Ray quality was good as the explosions sounded very good, and the video quality was on par. I did not take the time to watch the extras as the movie itself did not interest me enough to.
What's great about it: Good Action
What's not so great: Repeating scenes get tiring

Another Good Rob Zombie Movie
on June 27, 2008
Posted by: Throwdown918

Rob Zombie's portrayal of the Michael Myer's story is done very well. If you are a fan of this series you are going to definitely appreciate what Zombie has done with the original. Zombie starts out by giving you some insight into what it was like to be a young Michael Myer's. Although he tries to explain it all as a tough childhood, there is something seemingly wrong with Michael regardless of what his family life is like. Zombie then takes you into what it was like for Michael in the insane asylum, and directs you through his deterioration of his mind. Dr. Loomis of course works with Michael the entire time and makes no progress as you see Michael get worse and worse. Then Michael is given the chance to escape from the insane asylum and possibly reunite with his long lost sister, who has been adopted by a local family in the town he is originally from Haddonfield. This is when the horror takes place as Myers does whatever he has to in order to reunite with his sister. Zombie does a fantastic job at making the movie gory, with a lot of horror as Myers makes his way house to house terrorizing the town of Haddonfield. A very well done horror/gore movie that doesn't have many scares. Highly recommend for those who are fans of the series.

Best of PS3
on June 26, 2008
Posted by: Throwdown918
from New Jersey, NJ
At this point Metal Gear Solid 4 is the best game I have played for the Playstation 3 so far. This also being the first in the series that I have ever played. As for many people I think this may be so. So the designer of the game has created a database that you can download that will get you up to date on what has happened in the previous entries of the game. The database also blocks all potential spoilers based on your saved content in the game you are currently playing.
As far as the game itself goes this is a really great game. The controls are very easy to get into and work very well. I will admit I didn't like the pulling up of the screens to pick your weapons and items, but after a while it all becomes second nature. As far as weapons and items you have a very large array of them, more so than other games. You can also customize them with add-ons like scopes, flash lights, silencers, etc. All of this can be done through a connection you have with an illegal arms dealer name Drebin. You can access all of this through the pause screen. So if you're running out of bullets mid fight, you can easily pause and buy more barring you have enough funds to afford the ammo. I was originally scared by the idea that this is more of a tactical game then the COD4 type of single player that I prefer. However you are able to use whatever style of game play you choose. If you want to shoot up the bad guys you are free to do so, however if you choose to use stealth you are more likely to kill less and get through areas much more easily. So MGS4 lets you choose how you get through the levels. There are also multiple difficulty levels that are well done for beginners to those who like a very difficult challenge.
The story itself is literally a movie in proportion to other games I have played. I have never seen such an involved storyline in a game before. Also, once you have caught up on the story it's actually a very well told and has a lot of interesting twists and turns. As many have said before me there is a lot of watching cut scenes. Also at times while cut scenes were being watched I said to myself why am I not actually fighting this fight. However, with all that in mind they are exceptionally well done, and do a great job at keeping you into the game, and completing the story. Without them included in the game, MGS4 isn't as good as it is. I would also suggest having at least an HD capable television for this game, as the visuals are exceptional, and it really would make watching the cut scenes a little more acceptable.
As many people don't know this game also comes packed with a multiplayer portion of the game called MGO (Metal Gear Online). I have not used this feature that much so far, but it appears to be just as well done as the single player portion of the game. With gun customization, decent maps, and good choices in multiplayer game modes. I have also heard there will be a separate release of a more full blown multiplayer in the future, so things look to be even better for this portion of the game.
Overall if you are a potential owner, or currently an owner of a PS3, and are into any form of shooter either FPS or 3rd person it doesn't really matter. You should purchase this game as it's a must have for the system.

Not Even Funny

This movie is centrally a huge mocking of most sports movies. The beginning is about the only time you will laugh. The rest of the scenes are just cheap/physical comedy that is not even funny. If you've seen a lot of sports movies you may think some scenes are pretty good if they are making fun of some of your favorites. I would say the deleted scenes are actually funnier than the movie. However I can see why they were deleted as some of them are a little edgy. Would not recommend this movie for purchase, and you will want your money back if you rent it. Just stay away unless you get it for free, or can borrow it.

Great Movie

Deja Vu is a very new idea as far as I know, with a great Sci-Fi piece that once you start going along with it, the suspense is killer as to what will happen next. It's hard to explain what is going on in this movie without giving away the secrets. Considering the technology they use to solve the crime has a twist behind it that is given to you a little later in the movie, as well. If you are looking for a movie with a different twist then what you see if you're everyday thriller/suspense movie then Deja Vu is a must see.
The Blu-Ray was great as well. As there are some great explosions and actions scenes that standard definition would look and sound dull in.

can i get the internet on the xbox 360 with a wireless router

If you mean can you connect to the internet with the Xbox 360 with a wireless router yes you can. You can either hard wire with an ethernet wire that connects to your router and then to the back of your xbox. Or you can buy the microsoft wireless adapter that will pick up your wireless routers signal. This is typically a 100.00 item but can be purchased in some places for much less. If you are asking can you use the 360 as a internet browser it is the only console that does not have one.

My Playstation 3 is freezing on me.

I just got my playstation 3 for x-mas and if i play more than 1 game of Madden 09 in a row it freezes at the begining of the second game in the screen where u make your play choices. Is this a problem with my system or the game?
This can be both the system or the game. I would attempt to borrow someone elses Madden and see if that disc is working.

If you have any other games are they also doing this? If they are then it's more likely the PS3 and not your game. If your other games do this then I would call Sony and report the problem to them. You may need to send your PS3 in for repair. The majority reason the PS3 freezes is it's too hot. If your PS3 out in the open and able to breathe? Or is it enclosed in a entertainment center? If it's a 60 GB version there has been some minimal reports of failures regarding freezing as the first sign.

If none of your other games are doing this then your game may be the problem. Is the game updated or are you canceling the updates and just playing? If you borrow someone elses Madden 09 and it works then it's your disc. Try calling EA or returning it. Unfortunately you are likely not going to get much help if it's the disc. EA may send you another one. Good luck with that.

A side note is that EA games especially Madden has been released with a lot of flaws including ones that made the games unplayable. I would search the internet for information regarding this.

I love to buy a ps3 before that i want to make sure that I can play tennis on ps3 like I do on my wii using the wii remote like tennis racket??
The PS3 does have motion sensing controllers. However, they do not use them in the same way as the Nintendo Wii does. So you will not be able to play tennis on the PS3 like you do on the Wii.

wireless controllers

does the wireless controller have to be pointed directly at the console like an IR remote? or can it be used with console in an open front stereo rack that is not infront of tv but on adjacent wall. No walls in between but console would be off to the side in the stereo rack facing perpendicular to tv.
The PS3 uses blue tooth in it's wireless controllers which do not need to be directly pointed at the system in order to work. Therefore, you should be able to place the PS3 where you want and still have it work.

The only problem I could see is if you had the PS3 extremely far away.
