Best Western in A long time
on March 26, 2008

3:10 to Yuma is an exceptional remake of the original. Christian Bale and Russell Crowe really make this movie enjoyable to watch. The overall plot is that Bale's character helps in the capture of Crowe's. Crowe's character is the West's most know criminal around. The problem though is they need Crowe to get to a train station so that he can be tried in a federal court and sent to Yuma prison. With a deadly gang that is always on their tails, as they try and get Crowe to the train station, this goes from a very simple task to a very dangerous one.
With this simple plot in hand it is thickened greatly by the psychological tactics of Crowe and the battle for respect and understanding between the characters of Crowe and Bale. I also found it very interesting the conflict within Bale's character of choosing between earning respect from his peer's as well as his family, and just earning a quick dollar to keep them alive for another year. There is really great character development between Bale and Crowe and as the movie progresses you see them come to an understanding of each other more and more. Eventually coming to a end at the train station that you were definitely not expecting. With all of that in mind this is still a run and gun western with lots of shooting and a decent body count. However the relationship development between Crowe and Bale is very well done.
A must see for any fan of westerns and or Christian Bale and Russell Crowe. Do not miss this one and if you have Blu Ray it looks and sounds great as well. Also there are some decent educational extras that relate to the film very well that are worth checking out a least once.

Great Zombie Flick
on March 17, 2008

Resident Evil Extinction is another great addition from the Resident Evil series. I really must say the setting in the desert, and the non-traditional daytime setting was really great. Especially with the new Resident Evil 5 video game also going to be set in daylight. The setting is also the end of the world as the entire world has been taken over by zombies, except for the few survivors here and there. As stated by the director in the extras, there is a very similar Road Warrior (Mel Gibson) feel that he gives to the human survivors. I would also add that this movie on Blu-Ray looked and sounded amazing. The only downfall being in Blu-Ray the dog zombies outfits looked a little unreal. The scene with the zombie crows is definitely one of the best looking in the movie. If you're a fan of the games, or a fan of the previous installments of these films, then this is a must get.
What's great about it: Great Non-Traditional Daytime Action
What's not so great: None

Another Amazing Die Hard
on March 17, 2008

Live Free or Die Hard is an amazing action film. I watched this movie and really thought how difficult it was to film some of these scenes. As the size of the scenes in this movie are massive. The action is great too from blowing up helicopters with cars to driving an SUV through a power plant. Obviously a lot of the action is a little unbelievable or unconceivable, but it is done very well, and this is to be expected in an action title. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I like this movie. If you are a fan of the previous Die Hards you will definitely like this most recent installment. Also with it being on Blu-Ray the sound and picture quality is much better than standard DVD. Definitely recommend this movie, especially on the Blu-Ray format.
What's great about it: Seriously Great Action Scenes
What's not so great: A Lot Of Unbelievable Action

Obviously Nothing But Shooting

Shoot Em' Up is the most over the top action movie I have ever seen. If you are one of the people that sits and watches a movie and critique's it about it's realism. Please stay away from Shoot Em' Up. From the very opening scene to the last the over the top action just gets more over the top than the previous scene. Clive Owen kills endless men in this movie, and the ways in which it was done are completely out of this world. I give the writer of this movie credit for coming up with the ways that the bad guys die. If you would like to see a movie that contains nothing but an endless array of bullets flying everywhere from the first scene to the last. This is the movie for you. Just don't have high expectations of realism.
What's great about it: Endless Action
What's not so great: Lacking a serious plot

Not the best from Hatebreed
on March 10, 2008

This is not the best album from Hatebreed. I would recommend this only to fans of the group who are looking to hear the early work by the band. The recording quality on this album is not very good and the songs don't sound that great because of it. Most of the songs can be found on other albums and are rerecorded so they sound much better. A great way to hear the early inspirations of the group, but the overall recording just kills the album. Would recommend only to diehard fans and those looking to own all of the work done by the group.

Another Great Album By Hatebreed
on March 10, 2008

This is the most recent and another great album by Hatebreed. A lot of this album is about overcoming your own self troubles and that can be noted in the song titles. Also there is about a four page insert written by Jamey Jasta in the main album insert talking about overcoming his personal troubles. Overall this album is a ten and there really is no song that doesn't belong. This album is a real growth album for the band as the vocals and all the instruments have evolved for Hatebreed. Songs like as Diehard As They Come are real Slayer inspired songs and Destroy Everything is a great pit song that will get you going. Overall another great album by Hatebreed. If you are a heavy metal or hardcore fan you will not be let down by this album. As must buy.

An Awesome Album

The Rise of Brutality is another amazing album by Hatebreed. If you are a heavy metal and hardcore fan you will love this album. Many including Jamey Jasta himself have stated this was not their best album, but the tracks are still amazing. This album can be listened to straight through as no track is a weak link. My favorites are Facing What Consumes You and Confide In No One. The lyrics on these tracks can be inspiring in a different way for everyone. If you're looking for an album that is heavy and fast with amazing vocals then purchase this or any other Hatebreed album.

Great Album

Another great album with Jamey Jasta from Hatebreed as the lead singer. I think this album really shows the vocal ranges of Jamey. Any Hatebreed fan will be surprised by the range of his voice on this album. Overall the album is completely different then what you have heard before. It's a mix of sounds from all over. At times you think you have melted Pantera and Hatebreed into one band to make this CD. The guitars on this record are amazing and again are very original with the sound. If you were wondering if this was going to be an amazing album well it is. So go out and buy it, it's worth your time.

They may look cute, but there's nothing nice about the characters in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. This fighting frenzy will have you inflicting painful KO's on familiar opponents you thought were your friends. Take your frustrations out on Link, Mario and other characters from throughout the gaming world. Shoot spaceships out of the sky in the Lylat System from the Star Fox games and deal out killer blows in Rumble Falls based on the look and feel of Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat.Hit opponent after opponent to build up your damage meter, then knock your enemies clear off the screen. Rely on weapons that are silly but very effective, such as banana peels, pitfalls, gooey bombs and many more. Hurl old-school crates and barrels or select from Assist Trophies and Poke Balls to strike fear in the hearts of your foes. Combine Standard, Strong and Smash attacks to bash your way to victory. There are so many ways to smash, you'll get lost in the melees for hours on end.

An Awesome Game

Super Smash Brothers Brawl is one of the most anticipated titles of the year for the Nintendo Wii. It definitely lives up to it's hype. In the dying genre of fighting games this is the one that continues to survive. SSBB has more characters, a ton of new levels, and a new single player mode that is expansive compared to Melee. Overall this game is graphically impressive and offers great gameplay. The controls are up to your preference as the Wiimote and Nunchuck work well, but you can also use the Gamecube controller if that's what you are used to. Both choices work well. I have not found any flaws in the game so far as it has just recently come out. However I will add Nintendo's use of friend codes makes it difficult to add online friends to play SSBB against online. Also the speed of the matchmaking system online needs some improvement. Also there have been reports of some of the disc not working and giving disc read errors. I myself have not experienced this problem. However Nintendo.com is offering to fix any problems free of charge. Despite these small problems I highly recommend this game to any Nintendo Wii owner as it is the game of the year for the Wii.
What's great about it: Gameplay, More Characters, More Arenas, Better Single Player
What's not so great: Getting an online game going, Disc Read Errors due to the dual layer disc

Just Plain Bad

This movie is not worth getting on Blu Ray or on any other format. Bruce Willis is not the greatest of actors, but he is even completely unused in this movie. I don't even really remember him talking. Mos Def for some reason, another decent actor is told to use a Mike Tyson like voice for the entire movie. No clue why they did this, or in other movies I've seen he was using his unnatural voice, and the voice in this movie is how he actually talks. No clue really. The plot of this movie is to get from the police station to the court house (16 blocks). But the cops that Mos Def is testifying against are going to try and kill him before he gets there. There are all these underlying things that have happened in this movie, but you never find any of that out. You don't know exactly what was done to get these cops in trouble, and you barely find out in the end. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this movie to anyone. If you are a Bruce Willis and or a Mos Def fan find another movie to watch with these actors.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

can i get the internet on the xbox 360 with a wireless router

If you mean can you connect to the internet with the Xbox 360 with a wireless router yes you can. You can either hard wire with an ethernet wire that connects to your router and then to the back of your xbox. Or you can buy the microsoft wireless adapter that will pick up your wireless routers signal. This is typically a 100.00 item but can be purchased in some places for much less. If you are asking can you use the 360 as a internet browser it is the only console that does not have one.

My Playstation 3 is freezing on me.

I just got my playstation 3 for x-mas and if i play more than 1 game of Madden 09 in a row it freezes at the begining of the second game in the screen where u make your play choices. Is this a problem with my system or the game?
This can be both the system or the game. I would attempt to borrow someone elses Madden and see if that disc is working.

If you have any other games are they also doing this? If they are then it's more likely the PS3 and not your game. If your other games do this then I would call Sony and report the problem to them. You may need to send your PS3 in for repair. The majority reason the PS3 freezes is it's too hot. If your PS3 out in the open and able to breathe? Or is it enclosed in a entertainment center? If it's a 60 GB version there has been some minimal reports of failures regarding freezing as the first sign.

If none of your other games are doing this then your game may be the problem. Is the game updated or are you canceling the updates and just playing? If you borrow someone elses Madden 09 and it works then it's your disc. Try calling EA or returning it. Unfortunately you are likely not going to get much help if it's the disc. EA may send you another one. Good luck with that.

A side note is that EA games especially Madden has been released with a lot of flaws including ones that made the games unplayable. I would search the internet for information regarding this.

ps3 and wii

I love to buy a ps3 before that i want to make sure that I can play tennis on ps3 like I do on my wii using the wii remote like tennis racket??
The PS3 does have motion sensing controllers. However, they do not use them in the same way as the Nintendo Wii does. So you will not be able to play tennis on the PS3 like you do on the Wii.

wireless controllers

does the wireless controller have to be pointed directly at the console like an IR remote? or can it be used with console in an open front stereo rack that is not infront of tv but on adjacent wall. No walls in between but console would be off to the side in the stereo rack facing perpendicular to tv.
The PS3 uses blue tooth in it's wireless controllers which do not need to be directly pointed at the system in order to work. Therefore, you should be able to place the PS3 where you want and still have it work.

The only problem I could see is if you had the PS3 extremely far away.
