GTA Has found it's Competition

This game is absolutely fun to play
One must compare this game to its competition and that is GTA IV. GTA IV has the better story, is more serious, and has the better graphics. Saints Row 2 is more fune to play and has much better online game play. Saints Row 2 offers full co-op which allows your friends to jump into one of your games and leave just as easily (or vise versa) and has specific online modes. In-vehicle controls are also better for Saints Row 2 as one can easily fire out of a moving vehicle without having to hold two buttons like (like GTA IV). Saints Row 2 has many screen tearing issues and the graphics can come off as a little cartoonish when compared to GTA IV. The PS3 version also had muddier graphics (ie darker, less clear) than the Xbox 360 release. I actually think that this is a plus as it takes away from the cartoonish feel making things grittier. Is the game a perfect 10/10 (or 5/5 in this case)? No. is GTA IV perfect? Absolutely not. no games are perfect. but still i recommend you buying both games Saints Row 2 and GTA IV they are great in their own ways
What's great about it: Great Open World , very deep customization
What's not so great: graphics

An Instant Classic

I'm sorry to admit that even after years of viewing this movie, it still terrifies me and I consider it the greatest thing Shyamalan has ever done. While following the typical ghost story, "The Sixth Sense" is able to achieve true emotional impact as heart is put into the tale. The directing is brilliant and Haley Joel Osment will always be known for his role in one of the scariest movies I have ever seen.
Among the best ghost stories ever told, The Sixth Sense succeeds mightily as a horror movie, a relationship drama, and a spiritual thriller. In arguably his best role, Bruce Willis plays Dr. Malcolm Crowe, a dedicated psychologist still haunted by his inability to help a disturbed patient who later took his own life. Years later, he's in for the challenge of his career when he meets a deeply frightened and disturbed little boy named Cole (Haley Joel Osment, in an award-worthy vituoso performance) who seems at first to be plagued by the same kind of mental problems that hounded Crowe's former (later suicidal) patient. Part of his determination to help Cole is to try and redeem himself for what he perceives as his failure in the other case, but most of it is that he just puts his all into it for every case, and Willis is great at projecting the compassion and fear he feels for his new young patient who continues to spiral deeper, while Osment is just magnificent as a lovable little child who's scared out of his wits by forces beyond his understanding, and not knowing who to trust, or who's ever going to believe him. Both actors elicit tremendous empathy for their characters, and the supporting cast shines pretty brightly too.
The doctor bit by bit learns more about the nature of the boy's delusions, carefully prying little hints and pieces of information out of his scared charge without forcing it and driving him deeper into his shell. But Dr. Crowe may be in for far more than he ever bargained for, as he begins - almost against his will - to have to consider the fact that Cole's fears may not be delusions at all. The scene in which Cole finally confides the truth of what he 'sees' with his special sense to the doctor is an absolute classic. As Crowe tries to help him - and tries to figure out exactly where he stands on what he's beginning to suspect (which is everything his training has told him not to put stock into), Cole begins to sense a purpose behind his experiences and begins trying to understand what's behind the whole phenomenon, and what his 'role' in it is.
I can't highly recommend this enough.. don't take my word you must see this for yourself, on perfect everything looks on Blu Ray. every minute is worth your time. seeing as this is one of the greatest movies of all time.. the ending was so brilliant
What's great about it: Must see a true A True Gem of a masterful ghost story
What's not so great: Nothing it's Flawless

Not As Bad As some peoples make it out to be

A stylish and innovative adaptation of the classic third person shooter, Max Payne was unfairly mauled by critics when This movie delivered on what it was supposed to, revenge! All the pieces were quickly set in place to draw the viewer in, taking them for a ride to the inevitable conclusion. Since this is based on a game, viewers shouldn't expect more dimension from the characters than would be offered from a game, in fact I think Wahlberg fleshes out Max Payne more than expected.
What's great about it: Watching the beautiful Mila Kunis is nice
What's not so great: Unfairly treated by critics

The OC at it's best
on August 29, 2009

It was a tough place to come back from, the downbeat ending of Season 3. But it was healthy that they did come back, tie up the loose ends and give a credible finale to the lives of our heroes in Newport, as they go their separate - and sometimes a little unexpected - ways.
Tonally, the series starts off incredibly bleak as Ryan reaches an all time low, Summer and Seth have yet another problem placed in their path to eternal romance and even Sandy and Kirsten have some surprises in store... however, a few episodes in the tone changes radically. New characters are brought in, and it looks scarily like they are setting us up for The OC: The New Generation... and it sits very badly. Kaitlin, Marissa's younger sister is at first an annoying jailbait version of Marissa, but to give the writers credit she really becomes a fleshed out character in quite a short time. However, her hangers-on at school seem squarely pitched at a younger audience, as do a few of her storylines. Her mother's new boyfriends also take on a sillier bent than they have in the past,
Never-less iit was very touching seeing the ending.. it almost made me cry, i am just disappointed their was only 16 Episodes. Fox cancel this way to soon. they should've al least added never before seen Episodes that would've been a nice treat. i just feel 16 episodes isn't worth buying for over $30.00.. thanks Fox for not caring about the fans. to this day The OC will always have a special place in my heart
What's great about it: Way better then season 2
What's not so great: The forth season was to short

I watched Gossip Girl on TV, and ordered the season so that i could watch the episodes, in order, and to watch my favourites over and over again. The menu was a little confusing as the were several buttons to do the same thing. The show is great! It's no intellectual or moral debate, but it's the best guilty pleasure. The fashion is exquisite, the acting is superb, and the drama is as frequent as the champagne. I've really fallen in love with most of the characters, and would definitley recommend it to anyone.
What's great about it: Clearly A great series,
What's not so great: Wish it was available for PS3

Science Fiction Classic

After renting a long line of sci fi B movies from the 50s for fun, we rented this one to remember what real movie making was like. The acting in this movie is top notch, with Patricia Neal turning in a solid performance, with depth of character and thoughtful touches. The alien visitor, who could so easily have some across as smarmy and superior, is carried off with gravity and humor. Even the annoying boyfriend, who could have been a cardboard cutout of a character, is well-acted. All the lines are delivered convincingly, with the kind of tone and pauses that makes characters come to life. It's *fun* watching it all done well.
The special effects are good for a 1951 movie, but they aren't the main part of the story and are used sparingly. The story is a classic, and like all good sci fi, it's more about what we are like as humans than anything else. The movie drips an acid commentary on mil-think, media bias, and small minded hysteria, making it still relevant today.
Highly recommended for anyone that wants to see solid science fiction - well written, well acted, well filmed, and well edited.
What's great about it: Ground breaking and politically relevant-then and now
What's not so great: none that's how good it is

one of the most terrifying movies of all time
on August 28, 2009
Posted by: Animeboy413
from New York ' Ny
In 1979, the most terrifying haunted house movie came our way. The haunted house film was entitled, THE AMITYVILLE HORROR. This film is based on the true events of the DeFeo murders, where Ronald Butch DeFeo, Jr. murdered his parents, two brothers, and two sisters, while the slept. This film is definitely the most horrifying haunted house story to have ever been told. "The Amityville Horror" has gone on to be one of the most freigtening and suspenceful horror films of all-time. Based on the true story of the Lutz family, the movie dramaitzes the paranormal events that happens to the Lutz's after purchasing a new home in which a mass murder had taken place.
James Brolin, Canadian Margot Kidder, and Rod Steiger star in one of the most successful independent films of the 1970's. Also starring in the film are Emmy winning soap opera actress Irene Daily (Liz from "Another World") who plays a nun, and sweet Natasha Ryan, who was featured as the young Sally Field character in "Sybil".
This is just the ultimate horror film in every single way. The slow and quiet build-up to the unexplainable events that supposedly actually happened and tormented a family that just wanted to move somewhere nice is Still a story that sends shivers up my spine. Something that still makes me think and try to come up with a rational explanation to all those wild experiences.
The original Amityville Horror will always hold a special place in my book as the first movie to ever give me nightmares, the first horror movie to ever make me shake and cry in total fear, and the first horror flick to ever change the way I think about life and death. If all these events really did occur and torment that poor family, then I think people should open their eyes to the possibility there might be something evil out there. I personally believe in God, and believe something happens when we die, I'm quite sure I believe something evil is out there. Assuming this movie is based on a completely true story, well, i would like to believe that did happen
One thing I didn't know is that, it's wasn't necessarily the people who were murdered in the home that was causing the next family to go through a series of disturbing events- but something evil made the oldest son of the previous family go insane and murder his family. It was something that was living in the basement apparently, behind a brick wall where the families dog kept digging to the point where his paws were bleeding.
On a final note, yes, it was Very disturbing how the family seemed to completely disregard that the previous family was murdered. If that was me who found out about that kind of information, I wouldn't have moved into that house for anything.
This film is the scariest haunted house film I have ever seen in my entire life. I sat up one night to watch it and I was scared out of my wits. Now, as I said, this film is based on true events. The DeFeo murders did actually take place at 112 Ocean Ave. in Amityville, New York. The hauntings that the Lutz's experienced were not at all to this extent, but I have heard that they did experience some pretty spooky stuff.. i recommend you see this movie it's worth it
What's great about it: Chilling movie
What's not so great: Lack of DVD Extras

Great Ghost story

This American film based on Hideo Nakata's original movie [which was based on a book so it may not be completely original] is actually a lot better than most American remakes of Asian horror cinema. The first time I watched this movie I was expecting something along the lines of "The Ring" or maybe the "The Grudge" but was pleasantly surprised when this one seemed more surreal. It does an excellent job with the characters and makes the story seem very believable. I had a good time with this one when with others I was really not much of a fan.
Dahlia and her daughter Cecelia are looking for a new apartment on Roosevelt Island in New York City, Cecelia needs to live close to a good school it seems. Dahlia has a new job and at the same time is going through a divorce with a husband that does not trust her judgment. Once they find a place strange things start to happen like a constant water leak that is in her daughter's room. Also add in the strange noises coming from the place above her place and you have a cool little film a brewing. Of course you can't forget that this is a mystery/ghost story at heart.
Director Walter Salles does a nice job in letting the story tell its self instead of pushing things along at a fast pace. He also elects to let the characters build on them selves and actually develop, that seems rare now a days. Also writer Rafael Yglesias [also a writer on the Johnny Depp flick "From Hell] did a nice job in this American version. To be completely honest with you I was not expecting a ghost story like this one from this one. I really felt that it would look like every other remake that has come out since "The Ring".
The thing that really makes this film interesting is the acting from this top notch cast, every one did a good job on this one. Jennifer Connelly is great as Dahlia Williams and makes the character seem like an actual person. She has a beauty and innocence that I find captivating. As Dahlia Williams, Ms. Connelly has this same charming quality, while going through a living hell. Dahlia is being assaulted on three separate levels. She is haunted by the terrible memories of her childhood, dogged by the insanity of her current, ugly divorce, and plagued by the ghostly happenings in her apartment building. Dahlia and her daughter,
Cecelia are in the middle of a black storm of overwhelming forces. A combination that would drive most souls to despair, most minds to break down. Watching this poor woman go through this ordeal is downright depressing, yet Connelly plays it w/ her usual grace. Dark Water is a supernatural mystery. Beyond that, it is a story about the undying love of one mother for her daughter in the face of abandonment, desolation, and mounting terror. I watched it more then once, and liked it more the second time around...
Ariel Gade who plays as her daughter, who like Jennifer does a great job which is rare for child actors, especially in this type of film. Of course the ever excellent Tim Roth is brilliant in this film as a lawyer who actually comes to this lady's aid when she needs it. John C. Reilly may steal the show some what as the shady land lord who always makes a promise he can not keep. Dougray Scott, Pete Postlethwaite, and Camryn Manheim all also give excellent performances.
As the film goes on it goes from being about pesky neighbors to a ghost story to a crime mystery and it still manages to feel like the same film. This is not the best movie ever and may not be for every body but it definitely will appeal to some. I would recommend this one to any fan of mystery films or ghost stories. By the way the ending to this is excellent.
What's great about it: Love the movie
What's not so great: a fellow up sequel would've been nice

One of the greatest Slasher films of all time
on August 27, 2009
Posted by: Animeboy413
from New York ' Ny
I've already recorded my thoughts on the original Friday the 13th. I think it's among the top two or three greatest slasher films ever made. It has a kind of 'Blair Witch Project' feel about it, as you never see who or what you are dealing with until very close to the end. This creates an aura of dread, as well as a nearly tangible feeling that these characters are pretty much doomed.
I don't waste too much time mincing words about such matters-to me, this is a great movie. Not just a great slasher film, but a great film, by ANY standards. And it continues to grow on me. By now, I've seen it around 100 times, but I continue to like it better over time.
One word of caution, though. They refer to it as 'uncut',as if this is a big deal. I expected there to be major differences, such as reinserted deleted scenes or something of that nature. There isn't. So don't expect to get anything radically different than what you've had in the past. In fact, the major difference-the death scene of Kevin Bacon-looked better BEFORE. Some things get cut for a reason.
But the picture and sound quality are outstanding. The other special features are okay. But if you are satisfied with the version you have at present, there is no overwhelming reason to replace your old dvd with this one.
A lot has been said about this being a graphically violent film. That may be the case, up to a point. But I believe that it's often what you DON'T see that most powerfully affects your imagination. And that's where this movie really sets itself apart. The killer is hardly ever shown, up until the final twenty minutes, but their presense hovers ominously and continually over the entire movie.
For example, you could consider the scene where the girl is brushing her teeth at the sink. Off to her far left, we see a shower curtain shift a couple of inches. We, as the audience, realize the implications: if she goes back there, she will be killed. She,of course, is oblivious to the danger. The killer is back there, silently waiting. The movement of the shower curtain is so subtle, so understated.yet you know full well what it means.
Most of the horror movies I have sat through, even taken in their entirety, simply do not compare with that brief, seemingly trivial scene. Mystery, dread, suspense, horror, tension-all found, in abundance, in a scene that only lasts a minute or two.
I regard this as a masterpiece.
What's great about it: Brilliant movie
What's not so great: i can't think of anything

How is the game skate 2 for ps3?

i like Skate 2 so much more due to its added features!,

personally, i think that skate has better graphics. i also love how in skate 2 you can kick your board away in the air and move your body in different shapes to get the nastiest wipeout you can. Then you get money for crashing hard. So, if you want to go for graphics and basic tricks, get skate. if you want to wreck hard and do crazy tricks, go for skate 2. my personal favorite is skate 2.
