This game is amazing, it may not have the best graphics, but it makes up for it in hilarious gameplay and cutscenes. The game is so outrageous. The game starts out as you dressed up in bobble head suits in a bank! next mission your skydiving out of a plain shooting gang members and dodging cars and falling obstacles. outside of the missions there's also lots to be done, there's activities that will make you money and help you gain control over the city steelport and steal it back from the rival gang the syndicate. different from the previous game there choices, there not going to change the game almost at all but they let you gain extra things like blowing up a building gains you extra respect and keeping that building earns you extra cash. There's so much to do and so much to explore and this game will keep you enticed all the way, so much you just want to keep playing. For me, not only the best game i've played in 2012, but one of the best games i've played in years!

In the golden age of the 1950s, the American Dream seems closer for some than for others. Vito, the son of a poor Italian immigrant, longs to throw off the shackles of poverty that have held him down his entire life. Already well practiced in petty crime, he begins to aspire to a higher criminal art: organized crime. Lured by the wealth and power that come with Mob ties, Vito and his childhood friend Joe will find themselves spiraling ever deeper into the hold of the Mafia as they struggle to make their names in the streets of an unforgiving city — or die trying.Mafia II thrusts you into a world bullet-riddled with violence and intrigue. In this follow-up to the intense Mafia, the dark and unforgiving world of the Mob comes alive with gangster movie-style narrative power. Claw your way to the top of the criminal underworld as you engage in stunning car-to-car gunfights, white-knuckled hand-to-hand combat and intense gunplay. With a script from the writing team of the original Mafia and a soundtrack rich with music that evokes the game's 1950s setting, Mafia II immerses you fully in the Mob experience in all its brutality and inescapability.

Better then GTA

Mafia II is set in 1943 to 1951 in a fictional city of Empire Bay, USA, a city so familiar with crime, you'd assume Congress vacations there after time spent in Washington D.C.. There's definitely crime afoot in Empire Bay. The city is controlled by three families, and the question is who are you going to befriend and who are you going to kill?
You play as protagonist, Vito Scaletta, a Sicilian immigrant who doesn't understand his father (who drowns when he's a younger age), loves his mama, and loves making money. Vito is injured in World War II and is released home for a bit. His best friend, Joe Barbaro, is involved in the mob and does his friend a little favor by getting Vito out on permanent leave. From there, Vito slowly and surely gets involved in the mafia himself, giving you all the ups and downs of the 1940s/1950s and the life of a mobster.
Anyone familiar with an open-world game knows how the game pans out. You travel a lot, you can do what you want, and you complete story missions. This game isn't as open as others in some regards. For instance, beating the game doesn't allow you to just continue in Empire Bay. As a matter of fact, the only way to get back in the game is to jump into a previous chapter or to start the game over again. It feels a little behind the times, especially since the original Mafia allowed a free-roam mode. There's really not much to do outside of the main story. The side quest you pick up are strictly just thing to unlock Trophies, which is a bummer since I'm sure the Red Dead Redemption system of hunting down criminals (or in this case, taking jobs to put hits on random people) would have made the experience a little more lengthy.
The game does go for a 10 hour run, and while the entire 10 hours is exciting, the game feels like it just ends. It's length isn't the only issue. On my run-through, I played on hard mode and really, the game is quite easily beaten in this mode. Sure, I died a few times, but it really never even turns into a challenge until the last three chapters of the game. The cops are completely pointless in the game. They're idiots. They loose you at any turn, they hardly put any pressure on you, and it feels like 2K Czech wanted the game to be 'fun' instead of a challenge. The cops rarely pull you over for anything, which I was highly disappointed in. I've ran past cops going 120 MPH on several occasions, only to have them swerve out of the way. The system is very broken.
The combat is a bit generic, but it works. It's the cover system, where you pop out and shoot the ducks that appear before you. Sadly, you can not do a drive by on pedestrians, cops, or rival gang members. Vito likes to keep his hand on the wheel. The guns are fun to play around with. They range from a variety of pistols to the infamous Chicago typewriter. Mostly, you'll end up using the same weapon throughout the game. I used the shotgun more than any weapon. The only time I really needed to switch was if there was a crowd of mobsters or they're just too far away. There's also fist fighting, which leads to a game of jabbing a guy in the face over and over until you can finish him off. I didn't enjoy the fighting as much. Most of the time, you're going to just use the jab button instead of just opening fire on the guy with full force. It's fun, but it would have been nice to see counter-moves in some fashion.
Driving is unrealistic in some manners, and I'm thankful for that. There's also no 'racing missions'. The only race you have to do is a race against the clock during one mission, and it's pretty easy. There's a ton of cars, and what's cool outside of collecting them, is the cars change according to the era you're in. Newer models will appear, older ones become more rare. I also liked fixing up my cars and the need to get gas. There's just something about running out of gas in a video game that feels refreshing.
Mafia II is definitely a title you'll remember, but much like a movie, when you're done, you're done. The DLC looks promising, but it's all a matter of time.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is one of the best games I've ever played;
Your character, Jensen, plays his way around the world looking for answers after an ambush at the beginning of the game... You can choose to upgrade various "augmentations" to give you advantages through the game, however, you do not have enough time to upgrade everything, therefore your choices determine how you'll have to play the game later on... You can choose to play the game shooting through enemies, using the wide range of weapons and explosives, or try and be as stealthy as possible, hacking into security systems and side rooms.. You could probably play this game twice and play each level in a different way!

GTA4 is fantastic game

The game itself is brilliant fun, and is a departure from the previous GTAs. Your protagonist has come to America to experience the American dream, but it is not as he envisioned, having been given the wrong impression by his troubled cousin. But this storyline sets the way for great gameplay and graphics that are perhaps slightly dated now, but were great for their time.
The car handling is far more realistic this time, and you can see their suspension bob up and down when cornering, or driving on kerbs.
Along the way Niko can acquire several girlfriends, or meet up with friends for an evening out. To be honest this social aspect of Nikos life is probably the games flaw. It gets frustrating when you get constant phonecalls throughout the day asking if you fancy "doing something this evening", although initially it's a novelty worth exploring.
GTA 4 is gritty. Far more serious than the previous games - unless you play the "Ballad of Gay Tony" expansion, where the missions can be deemed, at best, as "somewhat unrealistic".
The Lost and Damned expansion is a bit boring to me. Biker gang warfare doesn't really interest me, and I hardly played this portion of the game.
Serious issues? Well, the frame-rate hiccups sometimes, and there are visual discrepancies, but overall GTA4 is a fantastic game. And, if you haven't got it already, this, along with the included expansions, is an absolute bargain at a less then $30

An amazing boxset of a legendary horror franchise

I am a fan of the nightmare on elm street movies; I would recommend purchasing this box set, all movies are in wide screen, and have optimal sound quality. My favorite the nightmare on elm street movies would have to be the first 2 movies. I like the first, which is directed by Wes Craven. All the nightmare on elm street movies have great special effects, and Robert Englund as Freddy Kreuger, I think revolutionized a new era in the term slasher flicks. If your a fan if 80's slasher films then the nightmare on elm street movies are a good bet that you will enjoy one of the greatest franchises in slasher films. By purchasing the whole entire box set, minus Freddy vs' Jason, Freddy Kreuger is in a league of his own, along with Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, in the term slasher films, watch them over and over again you will be glad you did.The Nightmare on Elm Street Collection
A Nightmare on Elm Street part 1 - Classic film and the best of the series, Freddy is probably the most frightening in this one, a cult classic. Even if you hate the rest, i'm sure you will love this one. It starts out as a young teen girl's (Heather Langenkamp) friends start dying in their sleep by you guessed it Freddy Krueger, as the movie goes on you learn a little about Freddy's history and how he came to be,Johnny Depp's movie debut. I give this 5 out of 5 stars.
A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2. How do you follow up a great movie like the first? Well, eh. They really didn't, one of the worst installments in the series right after the best (go figure) A young man moves into the same house as the girl from the first movie (Heather Langenkamp) and Freddy uses his body to come back, this movie suffers from havin a poor leading man and a leading woman that is too ditzy, however Robert England doesn't dissapointed and is as scary as the first, making this atleast watchable. I give it 2.5 out of 5 stars.
A Nightmare on Elm Street part 3 This right here, should have been part two, bring's back Heather Langenkamp's character and her father, this time she finds some teenagers in a mental institution, who have been having some pretty bad dreams..... this movie has strong acting by every character (even the ones who don't stay very long) here Freddy gets a bit of humour, while staying scary though ( the humour isn't over done like in future movies) I give this 5 out of 5 stars.
A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 4. sees the return of the surviving members of part 3, however, if you loved, part 3 the first 20 minutes or so might be a little vexing to you.Features a new hero (lisa) and her often dim witted yet charismatic boyfriend. This movie isn't great but definetly good has good actors and a few bad ones, Freddy is still Freddy and this is one of the better sequals. I give this 4 out of 5 stars.
A Nightmare on Elm Street part 5 Sees the return of Lisa. The story is Freddy comes back and is turning her unborn baby into a prodidgy of himself. The plot is one of the best, just not acted out very well. Freddy gets a little too funny. Yet is full of likable heros. Also goes deeper in Freddy's history While it isn't the best it is far from the worst and one of the most under rated in the series. I give this 3.5 out of 5 stars.
A Nightmare on ELm street part 6. One of the worst, plot is not thought out well and freddy goes over the edge with humor, few people die and the deaths take way too long. However, you learn the most about Freddy in this movie and that is the main reason to watch it. The plot is, that there is only one more kid left on Elm Street (our old pal Freddy did away with the rest) however the final kid has a bad case of amnesia and can't recall anything. Features scenes with a pre-teen human Freddy and a teenage human version of him, with a guest appearence by Alice Cooper as Freddy's drunk abusive father. (maybe somebody should have told poor old Freddy just because you were abused, you shouldn't abuse others) I give this one 2 out of 5 stars.
Wes Craven's New Nightmare The biggest turn in the series, Freddy gets an upgrade and for the first time, is in the real world. With this plot, the "A nightmare on Elm Street" films are just that films. Heather Langenkamp stars as herself and Wes Craven is in it as just Wes Craven, however when Heather's son starts believing in him, he comes to life, when Wes finds this out he flees. ( I would have loved to have seen a Wes fighting Freddy scene.) A new twist is just what the series needed after part 6 but i'm glad Freddy went back to the world of fiction in "Freddy vs Jason" good film. I give this 4 out of 5 stars.

Classic in brilliant blu-ray-love it

from New York ' Ny
I won't get caught in the main synopsis of the movie, I'm guessing you know the story and the actors. If not you should be asking your self where have you been the last twenty years or so...now lets get into it!
Video Quality on this release is in full 1080p using the MPEG-4 codec on a BD-50 (50 gigabyte dual-layered Blu-ray Disc). This is a great catalog release. It is so refreshing to see a studio not attempt tweaking the original image with digital noise reduction and edge enhancement. This is a faithful to the source transfer. Clarity and resolution is where this transfer shines, all the little signs, switches, knobs and so forth are all clearly defined displaying an excellent depth of field. Colors are nicely saturated and accurate displaying good natural hues.
As for the Bonus Materials: these are presented in Standard Definition 480i and High Definition 1080i with Dolby Digital 2.0 sound.
* BD-Live - Keep in mind that BD-Live requires the user to be on a "Profile 2.0" capable Blu-ray Disc Player and connected to the Internet to access online content via the studio (in this case Sony). Once online you can access content such as downloadable trailers for other Sony Blu-ray Disc release upcoming and already available. Title specific content in this case is actually included. 2 different Ring tones are available which are just dialogue from the film. Standard rates apply to get these I'm sure, nothing is 100% free these days.
* "Cinechat" - This BD-live application allows viewers to chat with friends and family while watching the film. A easy to understand tutorial is included.
* "Slimer Mode" is a Blu-ray exclusive feature that is using Bonus View which requires the user to be on a "Profile 1.1" or higher capable Blu-ray Disc Player. If you are capable of it, this is worth the time to watch all the way through. A neat "Ghostbusters" border frames the film while it's playing; at the same time a Picture-In-Picture track plays interview clips featuring the cast and crew looking back at the production. It is complemented with additional still photographs and behind-the-scenes video. A pop-up trivia track is also inserted into the mix, showcasing interesting facts about the film and its shooting locations.
* "Blu-Wizard" - A BD-Java feature that will allow viewers to create their own play list of special features by selecting only those of interest. Once activated, a pop-up marker indicates when that particular feature is available to view.
Audio Commentary - Director Ivan Reitman is joined by co-writer/actor Harold Ramis and associate producer Joe Medjuck. It is unfortunate that they weren't able to update the commentary (originally recorded in 1999 for the DVD release) with thoughts from Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, or Sigourney Weaver. This is very informative track but unfortunately it comes across as dry. Opcional subtitles are included.
Scene Cemetery" (9 minutes - SD) - This is a collection of 10 deleted scenes that while fun to see in their own right aren't missed in the film.
* "1984 Featurette" (9:45 - SD) - This is a fun vintage featurette shot for the original 1984 release. Featuring behind-the-scenes footage and short interviews with cast and crew talking about the various aspects of making this beloved movie.
* "Cast and Crew Featurette" (10:53 - SD) -This is a short 11 minute featurette originally recorded for the 1999 DVD release. It is a collection of interviews with Ivan Reitman, Dan Aykroyd, and Harold Ramis talking about the film and its impact in general.
* "SFX Team Featurette" (15:22 - SD) - This is a panel discussion with the original F/X team. They discuss their experience of working on the film.
* "Multi-Angle Featurettes" (SD) - This is broken into three sections: "Spook Central Exploding" (2:49), "She's A Dog" (2:00), and "Crossing the Streams" (1:23). Here you can watch the rough video and animation work in before-and-after stages from three particular scenes.
* "Storyboard Comparisons" (SD) - Also broken into three sections: "Slimer" (2:13), "Dogs Drag Dana" (2:09), and "Atop Spook Central" (2:04). you can watch the hand-drawn storyboards and compare them to the film's finished cut.
* "Ecto-1: Resurrecting the Classic Car" (15:37 - HD) - Sony and the filmmakers had the hero car restored to its original glory for the promotion of "Ghostbusters: The Video Game". Interview clips include Dan Aykroyd and the talented crew of people who worked on the refurbishment of the 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor Ambulance. The real treat is seeing the process of breaking down the car and building it back up to look better than it ever has. Once it is restored Dan Aykroyd was invited to see the Ecto-1 in all it's glory and it is a pleasure seeing the genuine joy he displays at being reunited with the old girl.
"Making of Ghostbusters: The Video Game" (11:18 - HD) - A promotional fluff piece for the video game has the cast and creators sharing their thoughts about the game and its storyline. Brief clips of the video game are interspersed throughout. The game looks like a fun trip down memory lane. The graphics look authentic to the "Ghostbusters" films.
"Ghostbusters Garage: Ecto-1 Gallery" (HD) - This is a beautiful slide show highlighting the restoration process, whilst Elmer Bernstein's music plays in the background.
"Ghostbusters: The Video Game Preview" (1:43 - HD) - Simply this is the trailer for the now available video game.
Theatrical Trailers (HD) - A collection of previews in HD `The Da Vinci Code: Extended Cut,' `Close Encounters of the Third Kind,' `Men in Black,' `Fired Up!,' `Paul Blart: Mall Cop,' `So I Married an Axe Murderer,' and `You Don't Mess With the Zohan'.
To me this is a unbeatable deal on Blu Ray. don't listen to the person who said it looks bad. that person isn't being honest with you.. the picture and sound looks great on this Blu-Ray release. i am just glad i added it to my collection
Ghostbusters + Blu-ray = awesome

A Blu-ray Trilogy Supremacy
on September 25, 2009

It's hard to imagine a better trilogy of films more suitable for Blue Ray than the Jason Bourne movies. Each film looks absolutely fantastic, the sound is spot on, and the films themselves are masterpieces by thriller standards. Bourne has become iconic; the Bond of the new generation. Matt Damon's all-american good looks, intensity, and acting skills give the films a credibility that many movies search for but never find.
There are so many reasons to buy this collection. The transfer quality is nearly perfect in my opinion, but I am not the type to watch the films with a magnifying glass and look for any tiny mistakes. The surround sound is simply unreal. John Powell's score really comes to life and the depth of the sound effects are fantastic. The scene in Ultimatum that takes place in Waterloo Train Station is epic and should go down in cinema history as one of the best cat-and-mouse chase scenes ever made. The storyline is well constructed, believable, and leaves you hungry for more.
Thankfully, there is a fourth Bourne movie in the works, with both Damon and director Paul Greengrass returning to make sure it is done right. I can't wait.
This is a must have Trilogy set for Bourne fans. All three movies are entertaining with non-stop action. Story line is very good and links all three movies together nicely. The image quality of the movies are very good, not great for Blu-Ray. Sound is excellent! There are tons of extras and control features with these BD discs. The box set design is very nice also. Overall, it's worth to have in your collection.

A criminally underrated horror masterpiece,
on September 25, 2009

There are many things in this world I will never understand, and one of them is how this movie's ratings can be so low. Simply put, An American Haunting is the best haunted house movie I have ever seen. I have to admit I did not like or approve of the way the story ended, and the modern-day intro and exit scenes were wholly unnecessary, but everything in between is pure haunted gold. I have to believe that some viewers' dissatisfaction comes from knowing what happens before they see the movie, as even the editorial review on this page reveals one of the film's core secrets. As much as I disapprove of its existence, that particular secret (which bears the unmistakable fingerprints of sleazy Hollywood) plays out beautifully in the film's presentation. Cut out the modern-day cinematic bookends, and this film has one of the most impressive scripts I've come across in some time. The much-ballyhooed cast play up to their potential and then some, the direction is flawless, and the special effects (including the POV scenes that some viewers ridicule) are, to my mind, incredibly effective. I absolutely love An American Haunting.
Basing itself on the only documented case in US history of a spirit causing someone's death, An American Haunting basically markets itself. Don't get too wrapped up in the historicity of this movie, though, as director Courtney Solomon plays fast and loose with the true story of the Bell Witch. The "based on true events" moniker is in fact quite disingenuous, as this movie is really based on Brent Monahan's purely fictional novel The Bell Witch: An American Haunting. Anyone who knows anything about hauntings knows the legend of the Bell Witch, an entity that no less a man than Andrew Jackson supposedly confronted (although there's no evidence to substantiate that claim), but this is not the real Bell Witch's story.
John Bell (Donald Sutherland) was a big man in his little Tennessee town - until the church fathers condemned him for charging Kate Batts too much interest on a loan. Batts, widely reputed to be a witch, openly threatens Bell and his innocent daughter Betsy (Rachel Hurd-Wood), and it isn't long at all until strange things start happening in and around the Bell home. Bell starts seeing animal spirits that disappear in the wink of an eye, increasingly disturbing scratching and running sounds in the attic and roof begin disturbing the family's sleep, and all too soon young Betsy is targeted for physical abuse by an unseen spirit. John and his wife Lucy (Sissy Spacek) initially believe Betsy is having nightmares, but the sight of their daughter suspended in midair while being slapped around mercilessly by an unseen spirit pretty much puts an end to the nightmare theory. Now desperate, John calls in the local school teacher Richard Powell (James D'Arcy), who insists there is a natural explanation for what is happening - until he sees the entity's handiwork for himself. As the nightly attacks become increasingly violent and terrifying, we witness the toll it takes on everyone concerned, particularly John and Betsy. All the while, almost unnoticeably at times, important little puzzle pieces are being dropped along the way - and that is why the ending, as much as I disapprove of it, works so amazingly well.
I thought the way the director approached the presentation of the attacks was exceedingly effective, particularly the entity point-of-view shots. Some viewers apparently disagree with me on that, but I thought all of the unconventional camera work made the attacks all the more real and visceral - and ratcheted up the sense of helplessness and chaos in the house. This movie definitely has the potential to scare more than a few viewers. The casting director deserves a ton of credit, as well. The gorgeous Rachel Hurd-Wood truly brings Betsy to life, and I can't overstate just how challenging that role must have been. Sissy Spacek and Donald Sutherland are even more impressive as John and Lucy Bell. Sutherland was the perfect choice for John Bell, while Spacek works wonders in what I consider a somewhat understated role.
I know I'm repeating myself here, but I have to state once again that An American Haunting is the best haunted house (for want of a better term) movie I have ever seen. I can't for the life of me understand why some many critics and viewers have panned this film. Methinks the fact that a movie this riveting and impressive can be so disparaged does much to explain why Hollywood turns out so much brainless drivel these days.

Maybe her best yet

I can't imagine how hard it must be for Kelly to please her fans. In Breakaway, she released one of those albums that people will be listening to decades from now. Everything knew she does will be compared to it, and I'd guess she'll always fall short, at least in the eyes of some. That's the life of an artist, I suppose, but it's got to be tough to keep up your creativity when people say your best work is behind you.
But you know what? Somehow, with All I Ever Wanted, Kelly transcended all of that.
It might not be QUITE as great as Breakaway, but it's close. More importantly though, it's good without being a copycat album. She explores some new territory here, producing some songs that have a slightly less pop/rock feel. I think Kelly has done an excellent job of evolving with the music industry and staying relevant. It's hard for her lots of artists to do that, but Kelly has.
The bottom line: if you've been wondering whether this is just another tired album from a pop artist milking her fan base, then you can stop worrying. This is a great album, and while I'm not sure it'll endure as well as Breakaway, it's definitely one that you'll be playing over and over for a long time.
What's great about it: A FANTASTIC CD from Kelly Clarkson

Great Collection of the Paranormal,

I love when the History Channel begins airing its stable of paranormal shows heavily around Halloween. This is a great bargain for five DVDs. "Vampire Secrets" is the excellent 2-hour program from 2006 (100 minutes), while the other four are hour long shows (50 minutes). This is worth it just for "Vampire Secrets" and "The Haunted History of Halloween." Either one of these two DVDs purchased separately cost as much as this entire set. The others in this series are quite good too...they include slightly older shows from the mid 90's about poltergeists, hauntings, etc. Some of which I don't remember seeing before. For the price, it is well worth it!
Bottom line
This is a great collection of History Channel documentaries pertaining to the paranormal. Compared to the prices for buying the DVDs individually ($19.99+), this is a heck of a bargain! In this collection you're pretty much getting each DVD for $4.00. I don't know who could argue with that.
What's great about it: Great Boxset, with a awesome deal

strategy games

Which should i get:
1.Civilization Revolution
2.Halo Wars
3.Endwar
4. any opinions on fourth if not any of these
I heard Halo Wars was a very good game. it has sold really well. mostly the halo bashes made criticisms towards it. so you should get it, if you really want to play a difference type of Halo. but you can't go wrong with Civilization Revolution. it's one of the best strategy games, in stores today. won many awards

How is the game skate 2 for ps3?

i like Skate 2 so much more due to its added features!,

personally, i think that skate has better graphics. i also love how in skate 2 you can kick your board away in the air and move your body in different shapes to get the nastiest wipeout you can. Then you get money for crashing hard. So, if you want to go for graphics and basic tricks, get skate. if you want to wreck hard and do crazy tricks, go for skate 2. my personal favorite is skate 2.
