WARNING! This animation is not for children. The story line is very good and the graphics are excellent. If you are into sword fighting anime, it's a darker version of Samurai Champloo. There is a PG-13 version but I still would not allow children to watch it.
What's great about it: Very good graphics & story line
This collection includes four animated shorts featuring fan-favorite DC Comics super heroes (Captain Marvel, Superman, Jonah Hex, and more) as they fight for morality and justice despite the best efforts of the villains who plague their mission.

"UN-original shorts" or "Used goods"
BySnogardfognikfromMonterey, CA
It was listed as 63 minutes long but the title short was 20 minutes long. Then, at least two of the other three "original shorts" were already sold in other DC Universe Animated Original Movies. Jonah Hex was with "Batman: Under the Red hood" and Green Arrow was in "Superman/Batman: Apocalypse." In the extras/special features, they took selected episodes from Batman the Animated Series, Batman the Brave and the Bold & Justice League Unlimited.
The Superman/Shazam short was okay, but it was not worth paying the price of a regular DVD.
If this is the first DC Comic/Video that someone was to buy, it has a decent sampling of content. But for loyal fans, a majority of the content is a repeat. I feel cheated.

Superman/Shazam-kShort: The Return of Black Adam
February 2, 2011
I am in full agreement w/Snogardfognik from California. The origins of Captain Marvel is a really good story and should be reconsidered as a feature length motion picture. DC gave us a nice looking cover and stole our money. Producers skipped major plots for this story. They never went into the origins of Black Adam, the murder of Billy Batson's parents, or his orphan years. They did not explain the origins of the wizard Shazam or the homeless guy in the film. If you get a chance, read the origins of Captain Marvel. This DVD was thrown together. Wait for the $6.99 DVD special.
