Long before grunge put Seattle on the map there was a metal scene that produced some gems such as Metal Church, Queensryche, etc. These guys deserve mucho respect for never selling out. Not a bad album in their catalog, and they still rock today. This album has no weak cuts and picks up steam as it goes along---try to keep your pulse rate down when side 2 kicks in: Hitman, In the Blood, Nightmare will lay waste to all who dare to pose.
This is a brilliant piece of Dutch hard rock from a diverse band w/some hits under their belt. Each song has it's own story to tell, and if you like this then track down any of their LPs from the late 60s thru present: "To the Hilt", "Switch", "Grab It For a Second", etc etc
What's great about it: the Dutch Guns rock hard
What's not so great: No one hears anything but Radar Love on the radio
wow, this album wiped me out from the very 1st listen years ago. the riffs are classic Iommi...the lyrics are beautifully bizarre, matching the proggy nature of some of the longer tracks. "Symptom of the Universe" is the most well-known number, but don't overlook other diamonds like "The Writ", "Hole in the Sky", or "Megalomania."
What's great about it: Sabbath's creative peak
What's not so great: Ozzy can't hit these notes anymore
this one shows Sabbath fusing heavy blues, hard rock, and some weird progressive/sci-fi vibes. the softer moments like "Orchid" and "Solitude" make the album even creepier. brace yourself for a run thru Sabbath classics like "Sweet Leaf", "Children of the Grave", and "Into the Void". below the surface are other gems: "Lord of This World" and "After Forever."
once heard the 2112 'side one' will never be forgotten. listen w/o distraction for maximum benefit...'side 2' (for us old-schoolers) is a treat as well. classics glitter like diamonds: the eerie Twilight Zone to the final cut Something For Nothing. from top to bottom this is a 5-star crown jewel for Lee, Lifeson, and Professor Peart.
What's great about it: best Canadian 1970s album ever
here's an underrated NYC band that plays fast, hard & classy. guitarist Mark Reale still has this group going to this day. listen for vocalist Guy Speranza--R.I.P. favorite cuts: Angel, Warrior, & the shred-fest Narita
What's great about it: white hot American hard rock
What's not so great: why is there 2 "Road Racin" on here? another track from"Rock City" could've been included!
